In the wandering eye market (north) you will find Kraken’s Fall town hall, The Inking Den. Access is through the enormous iron-bound door built into the craggy face of the cliff. All the city’s official business occurs here.

The Inking Den

[Wandering Eye Market, North] RNUM: 28871
Sunlight peeks over the lip, though it never truly shows its face this close to the sheer cliff wall that stretches towards the sky. Purple clover blossoms grow between the dark cobblestones as tangled flaeshorn vines strive for the peak. Smaller stalls, dark and secretive, have popped up in the shadow of the cliff, while an enormous iron-bound door is built directly into its craggy face. A small oak and stucco shop rests on the far southern edge of the square. You also see an enormous iron-bound door.

Obvious paths: east, south, west

Main Room

[Inking Den, Vestibule] RNUM: 28957
Glass-fronted lanterns dangle from wrought iron rings anchored to the ceiling to provide uniform lighting throughout the vestibule. Several hallways branch outward from this point, each decorated with either navy blue or cerulean rugs that help to cut down on the echoing of voices and footsteps off of the stone walls. An etched bronze sign is tacked to the lower half of the northern wall, while above it the towering image of a large black kraken being skewered by a bowsprit is painted in brilliant detail.

Obvious exits: northeast, east, west, northwest, out

The western corridor leads to the Courtroom, Office of Petitions, Office of Curator, Office of Realtor, Office of Transportation, and the Office of the Cooperative Houses of Elanthia.

The northwestern and northeastern corridors lead to public and house lockers.

The eastern corridor leads to the Office of Employment, Office of the Debt Collector, Office of the Registrar, Office of Genealogy, Office of the Cartwright, and the Office of Citizenship

The Courtroom

The courtroom is found at the end of the west, Inking Den hallway. This is where all legal proceeding take place.

[Inking Den, Hallway] RNUM: 29469
Navy blue rugs bordered with braided gold rope and bright white anchors cushion the long hallway as it stretches to the east and west. Wrought iron rings dangle from the ceiling and hold aloft glass-fronted lanterns that shed bright yellow light and dispel all surrounding shadows. Fitted into the terminus of the expanse, a pair of maple double doors sits beneath an etched bronze sign that reads, "Courtroom."

Obvious exits: east

Entering through the pair of maple double doors leads to the courtroom.

[Inking Den, Courtroom] RNUM: 28970
Light from a myriad of frosted wall sconces reflects off of the stucco walls of the courtroom, the steady glow creating a warm and brightly lit space. Navy blue rugs rest against the eastern and western walls, pews stretched out upon their faces, while leaving a central aisle of exposed stone. An enormous copper kraken sculpture dominates the northern wall, looming over several chairs that surround a copper-edged ironwood podium.

Standing opposite each other, a windowed dark red door has the words, "Office of Petitions" etched into its glass, while a windowed dark green door has the words, "Office of the Wedding Planner" etched into its glass. Obvious exits: east, west

Enter the office of Petitions through the windowed dark red door.

[Office of Petitions] RNUM: 28969
Large oak beams stretch across the stone ceiling, the roughened lengths riddled with nails that hold aloft a variety of charms, talismans, and globes, while the corresponding pillars that provide their support are draped with fishing nets and strange carvings. A long wooden plank lays across the top of two oak barrels to create a rustic countertop, which separates a ship name registrar from the public. Open brass portholes ring the office, their windows thrown wide to display painted scenes.

Obvious exits: out

Pyrraht, the ship name registrar can assist you in changing the name of your ship. To make the request, <ask registrar about name> to see the options.

The ship name registrar says, "Please provide a valid ship such as: SLOOP, BRIGANTINE, CARRACK, GALLEON, FRIGATE, or MAN o' War."

Indicate the type of ship you’d like to name, <ask registrar about name carrack>

Pyrraht says, "We can change the name of your ship for a small fee. This will always be up to the spirits who watch over the cauldron. I'll roll a few dice and you'll get a name." The ship name registrar continues, "It'll cost you about 30000 silvers. How does that sound? I'll take a note or silvers."

Current ship name is The Lucky Murky Black Snake. Confirming your order will replace this.

Repeating this command within 30 seconds will deduct 30000 silvers from your character.

Office of the Wedding Planner

The Office of the Wedding Planner is located down the western hallway of the Inking Den.

Go through the windowed dark green door to enter the Wedding Hall.

[Kraken's Fall, Wedding Hall]
Potted plants of large and small ferns decorate three-quarters of the hall, their broad leaves catching the pulsating illumination of a nearby shimmering doorway that seems out of place in the granite office. Copper lanterns discharge yellowing light over the counter, where Anne the Wedding Planner, diligently works through a stack of papers while keeping her eye on the comings and goings through a windowed dark green door that leads to the hallway outside. Imbedded into the western wall, an austere corridor offers travel options.

Obvious paths: none

Anne, the Wedding Planner can assist you in planning your wedding. To make the request, <ask Anne about>. (As of this writing on 1/22/2023 most request prompts to assist a GM)

The Wedding Planner Anne says, "I don't know everything, but I do know quite a bit about AREAS, CEREMONY, CRIER, DATE, FOOD, INVITATION, LICENSE, OFFICIANT, TRUNK, AND WEDDING. You can ASK PLANNER ABOUT any of those topics.

Imbedded into the western wall, an austere corridor offers travel option. The corridor leads to the Viewing Room.

[Viewing Room]
Whitewashed walls and rainbow-whorled windows dominate the tidy room, while a painted panoramic of Kraken's Fall, complete with street names and shop fronts, sprawls across the polished floor. Preserved flower samples housed in tiny glass frames are arranged upon either side of a tall bookshelf, their buff faces reflecting the various titles of the tomes held on each shelf. A pristine white pedestal also occupies the space, though it has been carefully moved out of the path of foot traffic.

Obvious paths: out

The bookshelf holds a number of leaflets, pamphlets and journals.

<look bookshelf> Leaflets, pamphlets, and journals line the shelves of the bookshelf, each with a different title stamped across its cover. A nearby pedestal looks like the perfect spot to place one of the books if you GET one from the bookshelf.

<look on bookshelf> On the tall bookshelf you see a rose-colored pamphlet, a snow white journal, a thin pamphlet, a ship-adorned journal, a brushed leather journal, an old pamphlet, a sun-bleached journal, a flower-edged pamphlet, a forest green pamphlet, a deep aquamarine pamphlet, a leaf-embossed journal, a pennant-stamped pamphlet, an aged journal, a stone grey silk-covered pamphlet, a sandy brown leaflet, an icy blue leaflet, an arch-stamped leaflet, a pure white leaflet, a stark black leaflet, a silver ring-bound pamphlet, a moonshard-edged pamphlet and a pennant-shaped journal.

<get pamphlet> You carefully remove a rose-colored pamphlet from its place on the tall bookshelf and secure it atop the pedestal. You glance over all the pamphlet's pages...

Wedding Area Descriptions: Location 1

[Garden Sanctuary, Retreat] Naturally flowing water spills down and around an extensive tumbling of sandstone rocks. A single mimosa tree reaches an impressive height, bending its heavily laden boughs over a delicate mistwood bridge. Elegantly arching over the spring, the bridge has a soft blonde color that stands out distinctly against a background of tall, slender grasses.

[Garden Sanctuary, Reception] Precisely pruned trees of varying heights give a secluded feeling to the otherwise open expanse of short, pale emerald grass. A simplistic stairway forms a fanning crescent down the side of a modest hill, adjacent to a sculptural stonework buffet and a bronze patina pedestal. Warm, twinkling lights float amongst the limbs of back-set red maples that provide a fiery accent to the understated landscape.

[Garden Sanctuary, Conservatory] A set of curving stairs trails off at a statuesque pavilion with a peaked crown covered in slate shingling. Three dewy glass walls seclude a silk-cushioned trestle seat, while still allowing a sweeping view of the profuse irises and fruit trees. Sunken into the ground, a silvery stone water basin faintly glimmers under shifting beams of sunlight.

[Garden Sanctuary, Altar] Neutral sand-hued stones pave the earthy ground and are punctuated by a mix of smaller blue-grey and ivory pebbles. A series of decorative stone lanterns line a wide, silk-spread aisle, leading to a lush koi pond in front of an ornate mistwood altar. Minimal flowerage exists within the verdure flourishing around the area, dotted only by sprays of woody indigo blossoms and nearly transparent white buds.

Once finished, you return the rose-colored pamphlet to its proper place on the bookshelf.
