Pinatas & Pinata Beaters

The pinata script has been updated by Xynwen for Ebon Gate 2022, with the Wild Flailings shop created by Elysani. Support and assistance and cheerleading by Thandiwe.

The pinatas are now tiered. Previously existing pinatas will be updated to Tier 1 automatically when you interact with it.

Usage:

  • You can HANG a pinata in any room that has a touchable object in it that is a tree or if the room's terrain itself is one of several that indicate trees are present.
  • WAVE PINATA while holding an item with a noun of "stick" or a scripted pinata beater

Tiers

Pinata beaters do not have tiers at this time.

  • OTS/Tier 1: A pinata that you can HANG and then WAVE a stick (or a pinata beater) at it. When it breaks, it is destroyed for good. Six-twelve random items will be spilled up on the ground for you.
  • Tier 2: In addition to the T1 stuff, you can now add up to 9 smaller items into it that will spill out when broken also.
  • Tier 3: At T3, the pinata will be broken and battered, but it will self-recharge and be useable again. 1x/day, refreshes at midnight server time. Also has a rare chance for a "haunting," which will then give you a small chance for a toy and a larger chance for an undead critter to be unleased.

Altering

  • Sticks: Base/long/show. Must be a noun that indicates something that could be used to bludgeon a pinata.

Analyze

The Tier 3 Analyze:

 >anal my pinata
You analyze your crescent moon pinata and sense that the creator has provided the following information:
~*~ Pinatas & Their Sticks ~*~

This item is a pinata. It is Tier 3 of 3. At this tier, you can HANG it and WAVE at it with any stick or scripted pinata beater. It also can hold up to 9 small items inside. BEWARE: these items will spill upon the ground when the pinata is broken and are subject to the janitor. You've been warned. At Tier 3, it also becomes renewable. The pinata may be broken once a day, resetting at midnight. There is also a chance of a haunting upon breakage; this may set loose a creature, or more rarely, drop a huggable toy. APPROVE toggles the haunting.

Pinata Status: there is a charge left for today

Alterations:
  * Base/long/show are acceptable, but the show can only be used if there is already a long.
  * Show: Requires a long also. Should not indicate the state of the pinata, as it will carry across being battered, broken, or pristine
  * Broken long: You will need to supply a long for when it is broken. It should not still be in one piece/item (so nothing like "a thousand pieces of pinata" but more like "a broken ghost pinata")
  * Toy: You can supply a base (15/15/15) for the very rare chance that a haunting produces a toy when broken. Must clearly be a soft toy, like "a stuffed, grey, ghost"
  * Custom sparks: Default is "crimson and gold," but you can choose something else. These are the sparks that are given off when the pinata breaks.

A silver-glazed crescent moon pinata cannot be further lightened or deepened.
