A pure sorcerer is not a very popular archtype currently in the lands of Elanthia. The two most popular paths of learning are demonology or necromancy. Some sorcerers swear that demon summoning and its use is the best skills to learn, and others say necromancy is. Few aspire to acquire the use of both powerful talents.

A pure sorcerer learns all spells from all three circles and how these spells interact together. A pure sorcerer would also learn and master the skills taught in the sorcerer guild. Alchemy is a practice that some sorcerers do not learn to do until they are well into their prime. Focus of spell learning and usage, as well as potion and trinket making, form the basis of a pure sorcerer. Thus, when the time is right (recommended level 60 and up), a pure sorcerer should learn the ways of alchemy.

Sorcery can have a dark side seen by those who do not practice our magics. Our kind use terror and fear to defeat enemies but it is no means insight into the mind of a pure sorcerer. The magic we wield is very powerful and dangerous, to ourselves and to others. Being able to control and focus our magic to achieve goals makes us sought out to work with other classes. Those that hunt with us see the terror we can create, and should be most grateful that we do not direct it at other people.

Balancing development of skills and spells make a pure sorcerer reach their full potential later than a focused training plan. There are a few differences for a pure sorcerer than a brawling sorcerer. First is that we do not train in weapon use or shield use at all. Thus more focus is put into mana contol and lores. There is no way to learn all the different lores equally. So, some lore learning is focused for certain uses. For those that live in cold climates and use spells that can benefit from elemental lores like fire, should get some ranks in them to make spells like Dark Catalyst more effective in their hunting areas. A pure sorcerer will also study the usage and development of spells and lores. Learning and knowledge are primary to the development and growth of any pure sorcerer.

Our place in society in unique. In some aspects we are the warrior type of the magic users. Sorcerers can not enchant armor like wizards, cannot open boxes like rogues, cannot heal like empaths, cannot skin like rangers and cannot raise the dead like clerics. Our skills are unlike any other. We can summon minor demons to do our bidding, reanimate dead creatures to fight for us, and most important of we can travel to most places in the lands easily. What can we do that helps others since we cannot assist them with a certain skill that is desired? It seems that most sorcerers would be likely to hunt alone. Pure sorcerers that have good control and well developed skills would be great hunting party leaders. To be able to serve others in this aspect we need to be good with tactics and magic usage. Knowledge of hunting areas and the creatures own tactics and weaknesses is another area of study.

Learning to use all your skills to the best of your ability takes time and lots of practice. Advancing in age helps to expand your talents but practicing them makes it easy and you become more successful at you work. Infusing scrolls or imbedding items or summoning demons or animating the dead, and even planar travel will all be difficult when they are first learned. The time it takes to learn can be long and sometimes confusing. Take that time to work though the mistakes and failures until you know how they are performed correctly and proficiently.
