Re: Lore Benefits: Spiritual Lore, Religion section

A quick and dirty copy/paste from Discord about how religion lore affects the crit rank of 335. Please feel free to clean it up if as it may be a while before I circle back to this. WINTERDAWN (talk) 14:43, 24 May 2021 (CDT)
Thanks for pointing out the latest saved post regarding 335 from Estild. I was aware of that page. I believe you were referring to the line, "Spiritual Lore, Religion increases the amount of critical damage dealt with each round." from https://gswiki.play.net/Cleric_Base/saved_posts#Divine_Wrath_.28335.29 . To me this line never mentions critical Rank but critical Damage. I admit it is confusing (to me at least) whether it talks about crit rank or amount of damage from the critical portion of the strike (each round does 1. concussion hitpoint damage and 2. critical damage).

I based my edit on two factors:

Estild — 01/03/2019
1. I used the lore chart created on https://gswiki.play.net/Lore_chart#Cleric_Base as a guide. There it mentions damage modifier, which I read as adding damage directly to the critical portion of each round.
A little over 100 ranks of SL:R will cause every wave's crit rank to be increased by 2 on every target.

2. Common sense (to me at least) - The Devs would not throw us a rank 9 critical (barring crit randomization [sidenote- is there crit randomization for magical crits? Ugh, need more info], creature padding, etc.) for a relatively easy 90 Spiritual Lore, Religion ranks. At least I don't think they would, would be a bit overpowered in my opinion.

I haven't done extensive testing on this so not sure which is correct at this time. I'll leave it as is until further testing/proof is available. Thanks.
SL:R has a direct and potentially significant impact on 335. When reviewing logs for effectiveness, be sure to note which wave the damage comes from, since it starts weaker and gets stronger. The SL:R modifier adds a static amount to each wave though. +1 crit rank at 40 ranks, +2 at 110, +3 at 195 (seed 6, and it does scale between those thresholds too).

SMC and Targets
Cast and Evoke are 3 targets at 0 SMC (so the AoE update overwrites the SMC training). WINTERDAWN (talk) 02:25, 23 January 2022 (CST)
