This magic temporarily summons a demonic force to do battle with its target. The demon is quite vicious and will turn upon its caster if proper attention is not paid. Training in Sorcerous Lore, Demonology can aid the function of this spell.
Factors that affect Torment
Each round this spell is active, the demon will lash out upon the target, using the sorcerer's CS. If the caster does not succeed at warding the target, the force will lash back.
- The target's TD will be reduced in more offensive stances for the caster, or if the target is stunned or unconscious.
- The target's TD is increased if the caster is stunned, sleeping, or in a more defensive stance.
- The farther away caster and target are from each other, the weaker the caster's control over the demon.
- Training in Demonology will allow the caster to prepare spells while this spell is running without penalty.
- If no spell is in preparation by the caster, Demonology ranks may then cause the demon to inflict more damage.
- The duration of the demon's connection to this plane lingers until either the caster or target is extinguished.
