2022-12-09 - Mocha with Teaberry (log)

Log captured from the view of Opalina.

Teaberry takes a drink from her white chocolate mocha.

Teaberry exclaims, "It's delicious!"

You quietly say, "They serve the Mayor the best."

You nod.

Teaberry says, "And well they should."

Teaberry smiles.

You quietly say, "'and we get to benefit."

You giggle.

Teaberry giggles.

You quietly say, "I'm worried for the group of Deligators. They may have a tough road ahead of them."

You quietly ask, "Have you heard how past teams have gone to Ta'Vaalor?"

Teaberry says, "It is a difficult job. Icemule doesn't have a consensus opinion about what should be done. And no, I haven't."

You quietly say, "First the insults and then the contrats.. " she clicks her tongue and gazes into her coffee.."

You mutter contracts.

Teaberry says, "An elf might have a better time than me in Ta'Vaalor, though this is a halfling town. They can speak two of the same languages, at least."

You quietly say, "Your correct the councilers have not agreed on who will go as of yet."

Teaberry says, "I wasn't speaking of the councilors so much as the people of the town. Some want to prove how fierce we are. Some want to renegotiate the treaty. Some just want to talk Ta'Vaalor down--which won't be easy, since pride is an issue on both sides."

Teaberry says, "No one really agrees on what's right, just that the present situation is untenable."

You nod at Teaberry.

You quietly ask, "How do you feel about the Treaty?"

Teaberry says, "It seems fair to both sides. I'd guess that neither we nor the Vaalorians got everything that was wanted. It seems a decent compromise. But a lot of people seem to hate the idea that the Vaalorians got any concessions at at all. Yet that's how contracts work. Something in exchange for something."

Teaberry says, "I don't much like the exclusive contract with Briarmoon Cove, but I don't see it as a declaration of war. A declaration of potential economic pressure, maybe, but that's a long way from catapults and trebuchets."

Teaberry says, "I'd like to get a look at the full treaty. If I were chosen as a delegate, I'd read through the entire treaty and make notes on points that could be renegotiated. Treaties get amended all the time, after all."

You quietly say, "I do not know what to think about the briarmoon cove relationship. It is far from them."

Teaberry asks, "WHere is Briarmoon Cove in relation to Ta'Vaalor?"

Teaberry takes a drink from her white chocolate mocha.

A bit of foam clings to her upper lip.

You quietly say, "From what I understand it was a verbal contract."

[Mayor's Office, Conference Room]

A stately stained glass standing oil lamp sets a warm, welcoming glow in the simple cedar-framed room, which holds a long pale spruce table at its center. Some black leather wingback chairs are placed evenly around the table's length, resting on a polished stone floor. The rear wall is a wide panel of frosted glass that has been etched with an elaborate mural. You also see the treasure chest-shaped Teaberry disk centered with a broken lock. Also here: Defender of Mist Harbor Teaberry who is sitting

Obvious exits: east

You quietly say, "Well.."

You gaze in wonder at your surroundings.

>look mural

Resting on the top of the world, the great mountain Aenatumgana looms, a vast and silent silhouette. Glacial ice prevails across the mountain; only treacherous trails made for the bravest of adventurers are traversable. Shadowed by the mountain and resting in the bosom of a glacier, a small town filled with quaint cottages and shoveled cobblestone streets stands out from the endless leagues of snow that blanket it. Around the town, farms, shrines, and graveyards darkly dot the countryside.

You quietly say, "That's a great question.."

You stand back up.

You stand in front of an elaborate mural.

You tap an elaborate mural.

You quietly say, "So here we are" she points to a spot on the Mural, then slides her finger toward the left a short distance, " This here is Briarmoon Cover"."

Teaberry says, "Hmmm."

(Opalina moves to the other side of the mural and points to the Far west of the map beyound the mountain range.. And here is Ta'Vaalor.)

Teaberry asks, "What kind of treaties do we have with Briarmoon Cove?"

You quietly say, "Although with their Airships they can make easy work getting there."

You quietly say, "Honestly I don't know if we have any."

Teaberry says, "It wouldn't hurt for us to talk to Briarmoon as well, then."

You quietly say, "I agree it would be interesting to see how they are feeling about trade with other cities."

Teaberry nods to you.

Teaberry says, "And see if there's any way to reinforce the friendship between our towns. I don't see that we have to be enemies with anyone."

You agree with Teaberry.

You ponder.

Teaberry says, "I don't know that how the delegation will do. I don't know if I can even help. I'm much the youngest of any the candidates. But I want to try. I think Icemule. I love the people. And I want this to end well for everyone, honestly and fairly, if that's at all possible."

Teaberry says, "I meant to say, 'I love Icemule.'."

Teaberry blushes a nice shade of pink.

You quietly say, "Me too Teaberry. I want everyone safe and happy, and no deaths."

You take a drink from your white chocolate mocha. Sweet chocolate and bitter coffee mingle deliciously. You have 3 quaffs left.

Teaberry nods emphatically!

Teaberry takes a drink from her white chocolate mocha.

A bit of foam clings to her upper lip.

You quietly say, "Good trade, good company, and maybe even a little extra merchanting for all our towns."

Teaberry nods.

You quietly say, "I think I read that Sorlu wanted to talk to everyone signing up too."

You quietly say, "I think your views will be encouraging to him."

Teaberry says, "All right. I'll talk to him whenever it's convenient for him."

You quietly say, "I don't know about the other councilors but you are welcome to speak to them as well I'm sure."

Teaberry says, "I'm at your and Sorlu's disposal."

Teaberry smiles.

Teaberry says, "And whoever gets chosen, I wish them well."

You say, speaking quietly to Teaberry, "Me too."

You take a bite of your pulled rolton tart. The varied textures of crunchy bacon and soft cheese play off one another and turn each bite into something more than its simple ingredients.

You have 2 bites left.

Teaberry helps herself to a warm cinnamon and sugar-dusted apple fritter.

Teaberry takes a bite of her apple fritter.

Teaberry says, "Thank you for meeting me tonight."

You quietly say, "Awe Teaberry I love talking with you You have a great Leader in this town."

Teaberry takes a bite of her apple fritter.

Teaberry blushes a nice shade of pink.

You quietly say, "Your opinion is highly valued."

You quietly say, "The honor is mine."

You curtsy to Teaberry.

You sit down.

You gaze with interest at an elaborate mural.

Teaberry says, "Thank you."

Teaberry stands up.

With a graceful movement of her hands, Teaberry lowers her head and sinks into a formal curtsy before you.

Teaberry says, "I don't know who designed that, but it's beautiful."

You agree with Teaberry.

You quietly say, "It's funny I always wondered about the farms on this Mural and now we can see them."

You smile at Teaberry.

Teaberry smiles at you.

Teaberry says, "I didn't realize how many graveyards there were, either."

You quietly say, "This can be a harsh climate."

Teaberry says, "Someday I'll have to explore that mountain. And the Rift."

You see Defender of Mist Harbor Teaberry Wildroot the Magician.

She appears to be a Paradis Halfling.

She is average height. She appears to be young and untried. She has sparkling pink albino eyes and creamy white skin. She has shoulder length, glossy pale green hair adorned with a cascade of silver leaf skeletons along an intricate circle braid. She has a cherubic face, a pert, daintily upturned nose and a dimpled chin. A soft grey penguin feather quill tipped with a gold-leafed silver nib is tucked behind her ear.

She is in good shape.

She is holding a warm cinnamon and sugar-dusted apple fritter in her right hand.

She is wearing a peaked purple wizard's hat, a rose-inlaid ruby heart medallion, a deep blue hooded cloak clasped with a silver crescent moon, some exquisite satin gloves, a diamond inset wolf-shaped pin, a silver spiral brooch set with a star ruby and engraved with the letters WW, a mithril Twilight Hall pin, an elegant sanguine harness slung over her shoulder, a rich purple woolen backpack, a pale violet tunic embroidered with celadon dragonflies, some tooled spiked full leather, a polished gold ring, a sapphire-inset rose gold ring encircled by white gold, a driftwood and leather band, a baby blue kilt, and some royal blue tanned walrus leather thigh-boots lined with rabbit fur.

You quietly say, "It is a wonderfully beautiful place .. but very dangerous."

(Teaberry looks as if she's making a private note not to die in the process.)

You quietly say, "Even I still quiver at the thought of going up there."

Teaberry says, "That's so reassuring."

You say, speaking quietly to Teaberry, "Be sure your friends know when you go, so if you don't make it back down in time they can go looking for your body and dig you out of the snow."

Teaberry hugs you, and you wrap her in a warm embrace.

You nod.

Teaberry nods to you.

Teaberry says, "I have a long way to go. But I'll remember."

You smile at Teaberry.

>look lamp Standing on a tall brass base, the lamp glitters a warm, multicolored light against the walls, reflecting off the stained glass bowl that encases the flame. The faintest scent of moonflower can be detected emanating from the pool of oil on which the wick floats.

Teaberry says, "I would love to stay, but I should go find a fancy bag for the fifty-giving in a half hour."

Teaberry says, "Gift! Not fifty."

You giggle.

Teaberry giggles.

You quietly exclaim, "No please enjoy the Festival!"

You stand back up.

You hug Teaberry, and she wraps you in a warm embrace in return.

Teaberry says, "I have been! Everyone's doing a gorgeous job."

Teaberry bounces around happily.

You quietly say, "I agree so far I am so impressed with the planning and activities."

Teaberry nods.

You quietly say, "I wish White Haven participated."

You quietly say, "But We are so short staffed these days. it's been tough to keep up."

Teaberry says, "Ohhh. Yes, I see the problem."

You smile at Teaberry.

Teaberry says, "I'll get in touch with Sorlu. And I hope you have a fantastic night and weekend."

Teaberry curtsies gracefully to you.

Teaberry says, "I also hope I'll see you later. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask."

Teaberry waves.

Defender of Mist Harbor Teaberry just went east.

Facing a blackened rock fireplace, a waiting couch of dark suede sits with its back to an imposing angular oak desk with neatly organized parchments atop it. A prim sylvankind secretary is seated behind the desk, which is positioned so that she can watch the entrance, visitors, and a riveted hoarbeam door leading to the mayor's office. You also see a chiseled marble arch leading to the hallway. Obvious exits: west
