[Guardian Keep, Grand Audience] Blazing on high, a domed ceiling of stained glass is imbued with swirls of golden and crimson that form the lithe musculature of a spread-winged wyvern staring down upon the audience chamber. Marble pillars, limned in fiery shades by the creature's span, foist vibrant scarlet banners bordered in washes of golden brocade. Armored statues stand to either side of a plush red velvet carpet scaling the mass of a lasimor dais centered with an immense solid gold throne beside a silver feather-fanned throne. You also see a large eahnor-banded archway framing twin linden doors. (Teveriel's gaze sweeps over the assembled legionnaires, offering slight nods to the ones familiar to him.) The legionnaire announces, "High Lord Chamberlain Caerinda Tindraele Vaalor." Caerinda nods once. Caerinda invitingly says, "Welcome legionnaires and members of the Sapphire Guard, citizens of Ta'Illistim and Ta'Vaalor, visitors, and dignitaries. The court session will commence shortly." Yunni turns an inquisitive ear toward Caerinda. Caerinda reminds, "This is a joint court session, and as such, we request that you adhere to court protocol for both city-states in attendance, and show respect for Argent Mirror Sayilla Illistim, her Illumination, as equally as one would to our Sovereign Commander, King Qalinor, the Excellence of Vaalor." Caerinda continues, "Weapons and shields should remain undrawn. One should not speak out of turn, and neither leader should be approached or addressed without express permission. Misconduct will require us to remove you from the session, with potential legal consequences." Caerinda clasps her hands before her, casting a look over the faces of the room. Gwynek turns an inquisitive ear toward Caerinda. Kothos bows respectfully before Caerinda, his eyes fixed firmly on the ground. Caerinda warmly says, "Both leaders will take questions and hear petitions at the end of the session." Caerinda announces, "The court of Ta'Vaalor is now in session." In unison, the legionnaires stationed along one wall thrice strike the metal breastplates of their golden armor, the sound reverberating off the marble. Still standing forward from the line of soldiers, the single legionnaire raises her trumpet to his lips and sounds a fanfare that fills the spacious hall with high, brassy notes. The legionnaire lowers her trumpet to her side as she announces, "Argent Mirror Sayilla Illistim, the Reflection of her people.", Sayilla just came through a large eahnor-banded archway framing twin linden doors. Straightening her back, Rohese gives a formal, low curtsy to Sayilla. She inclines her head as well, giving Sayilla a brief nod. Arbeia performs a traditional Tehir bow to Sayilla, her practiced movements imbued with elven grace. Sayilla's attendants arrive. Straightening her back, Rivienne gives a formal, low curtsy to Sayilla. She inclines her head as well, giving Sayilla a brief nod. Balantine bows deeply at the waist, honoring Sayilla. Sayilla smiles. Vellani gathers the wide skirts of her charmeuse gown in her hands and drops into a low curtsy while maintaining impeccable posture and grace. Tabubu nods respectfully. Missoni performs a bow characteristic of those from Solhaven. Caerinda curtsies to Sayilla. You see Argent Mirror Sayilla Illistim, her Illumination. Sayilla is surrounded by attendants, and a group of Sapphire Guards stands at attention nearby. She is an Elf. She has slightly tilted pale green eyes and fair skin. She has long, glossy copper hair caught in twin seven-plaited braids draping down from a faenor-chained coronet entwined in racemes of luminescent blue-violet arathiel, the faint illumination highlighting her cheekbones. She has an oval face, a classical nose and upswept pointed ears. She is wearing a silk-threaded necklace of vellum scales spilling down the left shoulder, a chain-caught pale ivory ruhani wool cape pinned at each shoulder blade, a right-sleeved aubergine jacquard gown caught across the open back by calligraphy-stitched lace, a vaalin-chained handflower bound to a sextet of cloisonne rings, and a pair of antique gold velvet pompes ribbon-laced across the ankles. Sayilla approaches the feather-fanned throne as she turns around to face the crowd before seating herself. The legionnaire produces another fanfare, with a touch more flamboyancy than the last before she announces, "King Qalinor, Sovereign Commander of the Crimson Legion and the Honor, Pride, and Glory of Vaalor." Kakoon kneels down. Qalinor enters through the arch before he strides toward the throne with a pair of legionnaires to his left and right, the soldiers parting any of the crowd that has spilled over onto the carpet. You see King Qalinor the Sovereign Commander of the Crimson Legion. He appears to be a Vaalor Elf. He is tall and has a solid and husky physique. He appears to be in the prime of life. He has dark-rimmed jade green eyes and lightly freckled, fair skin. He has short, pale amber hair beneath a gilded crown embossed with a roaring wyvern head inset with luminous blazestar eyes, the back-swept horns traced with crimson. He has a classical nose and narrow pointed ears. He is in good shape. He is wearing a silk-blended vylithen half-cape chained by gilded racemes of wisteria, a crimson-sheened jet black aqilorn tunic tailored to an asymmetric cut, a wyvern-crafted signet coiled around the left pinky finger, a gilded scabbard alight with blazestar flames, a pair of pressed obsidian wylten trousers caught with a lasimor-crafted buckle, and a pair of lustrous knitted duck-patterned aurora blue angora and antique pewter lambilen socks under a pair of knee-cutted ebon leather boots. Qalinor turns to the audience and takes a seat on the gold throne, his arms upon the rests and his hands curling over the wyverns etched into the solid metal. The legionnaires split to either side of the throne, standing at attention. Also here: Sister-in-Arms Roelaren, the Argent Mirror's attendants, Sayilla who is sitting, King Qalinor who is sitting, Sirona, Riend, Stassy, Dendum, Lord Kothos, Imrys, Adjutant Yunni, High Lord Chamberlain Caerinda, Arastir, Lord Teveriel, Gwynek, Trallihn, Tabubu, Perigourd, Bathcwyn Missoni, Meril, Lucraine, Squire Legionnaire Kencathedrus, Master Aendir, Murharzarm, Emissary Thrassus, Arbeia, Rivienne, Lady Vellani, Loremaster Rohese, Sir Balantine, Admiral Kakoon Obvious exits: none Gilt-armored legionnaires and silver-armored members of the Sapphire Guard stand at attention on opposing walls, evenly spaced between the pillars. The legionnaire announces, "Lord Legionnaire Commanders Cyik Elenelon Vaalor and Jaranzair Nashal." Lord Legionnaire Commander Jaranzair's group just came through a large eahnor-banded archway framing twin linden doors. You see Lord Legionnaire Commander Jaranzair Nashal Vaalor the Crimson Legion Officer. He appears to be an Elf. He is shorter than average. He appears to be old. He has almond-shaped milky white eyes and bronze skin. He has cropped, steel grey hair. He has an angular face and sharp pointed ears. He is in good shape. He is wearing a golden maedatha half-cape strapped with leather, a tailored crimson vylith jacket adorned with ten gilt knots, a suit of vaalorn plate and mail with a dark gold quilted gambeson underneath, a gilt-washed lasimor sheath traced in a vaalin inlay, some pleated ivory vicuna trousers, and a pair of knitted lion-patterned night-dark vicuna and honeyed gold maedatha socks under some polished black ebon leather boots with gilded accents. You see Lord Legionnaire Commander Cyik Elenelon Vaalor the Crimson Legion Officer. He appears to be an Elf. He is average height. He appears to be old. He has jade green eyes and copper skin. He has shoulder length, grey hair. He has a bony face, a long nose and high cheekbones. He is in good shape. He is wearing an ebon-on-crimson brocade cape secured by three gilded chains, a tailored crimson fustian jacket adorned with ten gilt knots, a gold-trimmed dark eahnor aegis slung over his shoulder, a polished crimson vaalorn breastplate trimmed with a wide gold-leafed band with a starched white cambric shirt underneath, a gold-bound scarlet sheath, some pleated ivory vicuna trousers, and a pair of knitted wyvern-patterned vaalorn-hued silk socks under a pair of dark leather boots cuffed at the knee. Jaranzair keeps his gaze forward and his expression impassive as he travels through the crowd with Cyik at his side, who contrastingly casts sidelong glances at the audience, lingering briefly upon the Crimson Legion reservists. Jaranzair pauses before King Qalinor upon the lasimor dais, both he and Cyik striking their chests with their fist before parting to stand between the throne and the pairs of legionnaires. The legionnaire announces, "High Lords of Vaalor Phinalren Ravistel and Ilvisar Ghiran, Lord Regents of the Council." Phinalren walks down the carpeted aisle to the front of the crowd with Ilvisar, but they do not join the others on the dais. After each offering a bow to their king, they divert to the side, distancing themselves from the rest of the audience. Phinalren extends open hands while gracefully scraping his right leg behind to lean forward in a subtle bow of esteem to Sayilla. You see Lord Regent Phinalren Ravistel the High Lord of Vaalor. He appears to be a Vaalor Elf. He is tall and has a lean build. He appears to be advanced in years. He has almond-shaped dark blue eyes and lightly tanned skin. He has short, fine white hair neatly combed into a faint wave and receding at the temples for a sharp widow's peak. He has a wrinkle-creased face, a thin, vaguely crooked nose and a lingering hint of a once-sharp jaw. He is in good shape. He is wearing a short center-split cape draped from a heavy gold-linked chain, a dark ochre brocade doublet with overlong triangular shoulder caps over a deep claret silk tunic trimmed in gilt scrollwork, a gold-chased lasimor signet worn on the right pinky finger, a pebbled leather scabbard worked in blackened vaalin thread, a pair of tailored off-white linen pants riveted along the seams, and a pair of highly polished knee-high boots capped in gilded points. You see Lord Ilvisar Ghiran the High Lord of Vaalor. He appears to be a Vaalor Elf. He is very tall and has a muscular, able-bodied physique. He appears to be in the meridian of life. He has muted pale grey eyes and fair skin. He has shoulder-length, straight gilded hair fading into sterling silver across the temples and throughout the thin leather-woven plaits gracing each shoulder. He has an angular face and sharply curved, pointed ears. He is in good shape. He is wearing a collar-pinned hunter green suede coat split into dual-chained tails, a jacquard-backed bistre leather waistcoat over a pressed ecru silk shirt caught at the cuffs with wood-carved wyverns, a shield-cut eahnor signet set upon the right pinky finger, an iron-fluted scabbard of leather-strapped lasimor, some dual-belted cognac ruhani wool trousers, and a pair of ankle-buckled tanned leather boots cuffed in orchard naiquard. Caerinda graciously adds, "We acknowledge and welcome the presence of foreign representative Envoy Thrassus of Wehnimer's Landing." Kothos smiles at Thrassus. Thrassus nods respectfully. Caerinda says, "Our Excellency, King Qalinor will discuss current events in Ta'Vaalor." Qalinor laughs, "In truth, I must insist upon giving the honor to her Reflection to speak to the citizens of Ta'Illistim first." Sayilla laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement. Caerinda corrects, "Oh, of course! Argent Mirror Sayilla will address her matters of importance." Qalinor winks at Sayilla. Teveriel looks thoughtfully at Qalinor. Speaking amusedly to Qalinor, Sayilla says, "I will be brief, then, to my best of my abilities." Sayilla stands up. Speaking to Sayilla, Qalinor says, "People often complain that I am not brief enough, but I trust you are more eloquent than I am." Arastir attempts to clear his throat as he approaches the thrones. Arastir formally announces, "The Argent Mirror would first address the exhibition of the Ma'Henrith Cavern artifacts." Phinalren shifts his weight. Sayilla formally says, "If I may, I d like to address last evening s exhibition opening and our renewed commitment to ensure that the Shining City and our people reflect our ideals of mutual respect in pursuit of knowledge." Sayilla continues, "The recently opened exhibition of the artifacts found in the Ma'Henrith Cavern was an earnest effort for the curators and researchers of the Museum Alerreth to share their discoveries with visitors and citizens alike, in hopes of inspiring others to learn more about the sylvan peoples and their histories." Sayilla slowly states, "But as with all lessons, we sometimes fail to truly grasp the implications of our actions and stumble." Rohese lowers her gaze. Sayilla firmly says, "When we do fall, we must rectify our actions and resolve to do better." Sayilla concludes, "I am formally announcing the closure of the Ma'Henrith Cavern exhibition and we will be returning the artifacts to their rightful home. Museum Archivist Laevynia Savitel and the researchers of Museum Alerreth will await the request from the appropriate parties and in the future hope we can come together again to learn about the sylvan peoples." Arastir formally says, "The Argent Mirror will address the upcoming renovations to the city proper." Sayilla states, "As we welcome visiting scholars and dignitaries to the Shining City, it has come to our attention that we must first ensure that we can create accommodations that both house our friends comfortably, but also honor their traditions and creature comforts that we all find essential." Sayilla determinedly says, "And to that solution, we will continue our efforts to build Reflection's Interlude as a way to allow ourselves to share in one another s cultures and bring together all who pursue knowledge." Sayilla adds, "The Library Aies will be beginning their renovations in the upcoming weeks, as Loremaster Efald works alongside Tinkerers Fryc and Shives to assist him in the prestigious project." Rohese beams, her eyes filled with delight! Sayilla surreptitiously glances at Arastir. Qalinor nods approvingly. Arastir quickly says, "Finally, the Argent Mirror will address the renewal of the Treaty of Mutual Defense." Sayilla announces, "The treaty of mutual defense drawn up by Argent Mirror Irinara Illistim was a statement of shared support between Ta'Illistim and Ta'Vaalor. Though its existence was once a secret between our cities, I hope that we can continue to work alongside one another as equals from this day forward." Sayilla confidently states, "We thank King Qalinor for showing unwavering support as we journey together into a renewed alliance between our cities. May our peoples and our cities continue to flourish under our watch." Qalinor gives a sidelong glance at Sayilla. Sayilla flashes a smile as she nods to Qalinor before returning to her throne. Caerinda glances at Qalinor, who offers a slight nod. Speaking to Qalinor, Sayilla whispers aloud, "I tried to be brief." Speaking to Sayilla, Qalinor whispers aloud, "You did quite well." Pulling her open marbrinus fan close to her face, Vellani tries to hide a smile behind its twilight blue panels but fails to conceal the mirth in her eyes. Caerinda confidently states, "Our Excellency, King Qalinor will discuss current events in Ta'Vaalor." Kothos glances between Qalinor and Sayilla. Kothos smiles quietly to himself. Qalinor begins, "First and foremost, I would like to welcome and congratulate our new High Lord Chamberlain, Caerinda Tindraele Vaalor. High Lord Chamberlain Caerinda has served Ta'Vaalor in an advisory role to both myself and the previous High Lord Chamberlain, who is setting in well with his new duties as High Lord Steward." Qalinor wryly adds, "Applause is appropriate." Arbeia applauds politely. Kakoon applauds. Stassy applauds. Imrys applauds. Sayilla applauds warmly. Qalinor continues, "After a great delay due to the logistics of acquiring an appropriate amount of materials, the work on Neartofar Road commenced several weeks ago, and progress has been steady. Legion patrols have increased on the road to protect the crews from any disruption. I do ask that you avoid disturbing or distracting the workers, and take care as you travel to and from Mistwatch as the construction areas are full of hazards." Qalinor drums his fingers on the wyvern-sculpted armrests of his throne. Qalinor says, "I think you will find the currently completed work to be exceptional." Qalinor says, "On the matter of Mistwatch, Jeryme has seemingly kept the pirate incursions at bay." He pauses for a moment to quirk an amused half-smile at himself. "As such, he has technically met his deadline, but we have concerns that fortifications have not been built, and that this lull is more due to the efforts of citizens and visitors than to Jeryme's diplomatic skills." Qalinor clears his throat. Qalinor informs, "The expectation has been set that the money raised be used as quickly as possible to build additional defense fortifications. Technical plans and skilled workers have been provided, but Jerome is still in the process of acquiring materials. I am afraid the Crown has a bit of a monopoly on that at the moment." Qalinor quirks a slight smile. Caerinda formally announces, "Our Excellency, King Qalinor will discuss Ta'Vaalor's partnership with Ta'Illistim." Qalinor casts a sidelong glance at Sayilla before speaking. Qalinor amusedly says, "Despite the popular belief that Vaalor elves are simply elves that carry big swords, we do harbor a deep interest in knowledge. Thus, I encourage all interested in scholarly pursuits to support the Argent Mirror Sayilla's efforts to renovate and rediscover the wonders of the Library Aies." Teveriel gazes in amusement at Qalinor. Sayilla laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement. Qalinor laughingly adds, "We do alaso carry big swords." Qalinor continues, "Additionally, the city-state of Ta'Vaalor will be assisting in rebuilding, maintaining, and protecting the pathways between the city-states, to facilitate the accessibility of knowledge to all citizens within our borders." Caerinda formally states, "King Qalinor and Argent Mirror Sayilla will renew the Mutual Defense Treaty of Illistim and Vaalor." Caerinda removes a long parchment document from in her chiffon robe. Caerinda unrolls the parchment, the length of which falls to her knees, and scans over the contents. Caerinda announces, "The Mutual Defense Treaty has one amendment and two new clauses." Arbeia turns an inquisitive ear toward Caerinda. Caerinda adds, "These changes have been discussed with the Council of Mirrors and the Council of Regents, with overwhelming and nearly unanimous support." Caerinda reads, "Regarding limitations on treaty obligation, there has been an amendment made to Clause II." Caerinda recites: "If one signatory city-state is required to fulfill a defense requirement due under a separate treaty or agreement with a third faction party not included in this agreement, the second signatory city-state shall not be required to fulfill its obligations as outlined in Clause I." Perigourd whispers to the group, "That would preclude them from having to become embroiled in Imperial business through the Kasendra Accords." Ilvisar whispers something to Phinalren. Phinalren barely holds back his laughter, emitting a quiet snort instead. Qalinor glances sharply at Phinalren. Caerinda reads, "Regarding diplomatic immunity, there has been a new clause added." Caerinda recites: "Clause XIII: Protections for Civic Officials in Times of Conflict. No official, emissary, diplomat, scholar, or representative of either signatory city-state shall be detained, imprisoned, or held against their will by the opposing city. All civic officials from both city-states, regardless of the prevailing circumstances, shall be granted diplomatic immunity and safe passage to ensure uninterrupted communication and collaboration, which are essential to resolving disputes and maintaining peace." Qalinor gives a sidelong glance at Jaranzair. Caerinda reads, "Regarding defensive infrastructure, there has been a new clause added." Caerinda recites: "Clause XIV: Mutual Responsibility for Roads and Bridges Both city-states agree to share the responsibility for the upkeep, repair, and improvement of all roads, bridges, and other critical infrastructure that connect their territories." Caerinda adds, "To prevent eyes from glazing over, I will summarize the remainder of Clause XIV. This will include agreed upon cost allocation, a maintenance schedule and committee, standards of quality, and non-interference expectations." Caerinda states, "The parties will ratify the treaty, with all in attendance as witness." Caerinda removes a gilded peacock feather quill from in her chiffon robe. A young page trudges over, carrying a gilded stand that looks a little too heavy for him. Sayilla stands briefly to assist the young page, helping him balance the stand before the thrones. Caerinda sets the parchment upon the gilded stand and lays down the quill beside it. Speaking to Qalinor, Sayilla mentions, "That's *at least* an extra dessert for the boy this evening." Rohese gazes fondly at Sayilla. Qalinor begins chuckling at Sayilla! Sayilla accepts Caerinda's offered quill as she attempts to balance the unfurled parchment. She carefully applies her signature before handing the pinion to Qalinor. Trallihn casually plucks a speck of dust from his grey elesine shroud and flicks it at Rohese. Rohese surreptitiously glances at Trallihn. Rohese takes a few steps to her right. Rohese dusts off her blue vicuna coat. Qalinor leans forward to scribble upon the parchment with an obvious flourish. Caerinda announces, "The Mutual Defense Treaty is officially reinstated between the great city-stated of Ta'Illistim and Ta'Vaalor, effective immediately." Speaking to Sayilla, Qalinor jokes, "One must hope this does not seem a challenge to anyone." Speaking jokingly to Qalinor, Sayilla says, "I certainly hope it doesn't seem like a challenge." Caerinda helps the page carry the stand away, clearing away the quill and document. Caerinda announces, "His Excellency, King Qalinor, and Argent Mirror Sayilla will now take petitions and questions from the audience. Please discreetly make requests to speak through me." Qalinor leans back comfortably in his throne, crossing his legs at the ankles. Rohese whispers something to Caerinda. Caerinda says, "Loremaster Rohese Bayvel Illistim brings a petition to Argent Mirror Sayilla Illistim." Speaking respectfully to Caerinda, Rohese says, "May I approach the Mirror with your permission." Rohese nods appreciatively at Caerinda. Caerinda nods at Rohese. Qalinor gazes at Rohese. (Rohese takes a few steps forward to approach Sayilla.) Kothos removes the stopper from his bronze thorn chain and pours a small amount of liquid into his cupped palm. Replacing the stopper, Kothos rubs his hands together briefly before briskly patting his neck. Rohese respectfully begins, "Argent Mirror, it is with the utmost respect and humility that I present my petition this afternoon." Sayilla nods in greeting at Rohese. Speaking tentatively to Sayilla, Rohese continues, "I would like to request that the Council of Thrones and Loremasters consider hosting a botanical symposium in our Royal Arboretum later this year." Rohese wrinkles her nose. Speaking softly to Sayilla, Rohese elaborates, "The proposed symposium would seek to gather scholars, botanists, and arboreal enthusiasts from across Elanthia to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and celebrate the abundant flora that graces our lands." Speaking softly to Sayilla, Rohese reminds, "You may recall that something similar has been held during the Festival of Lumnea in the past with great success." Rohese clears her throat. Rohese softly acknowledges, "Although, admittedly the subject matter of those presentations was much wider in scope." Rohese wrinkles her nose. Qalinor leans across the wyvern-wrought armrest of his throne to whisper something to Sayilla. Speaking brightly to Sayilla, Rohese proposes, "This new event could feature scholarly lectures, live demonstrations of horticultural techniques, workshops and exhibitions, discussion groups to share research, and even guided tours of the Arboretum's unparalleled collection." Speaking softly to Sayilla, Rohese says, "Additionally, it could serve as an opportunity to honour the legacy of Ta'Illistim as a beacon of knowledge and cultural refinement." Speaking softly to Sayilla, Rohese posits, "I believe such a symposium would not only enhance the intellectual pursuits within our beloved city but also - to echo your insightful words - continue to form stronger bonds between ourselves and all those who come to the Shining City - encouraging dialogue and mutual appreciation through the universal language of nature." Rohese flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks. Speaking humbly to Sayilla, Rohese says, "Should this proposal meet with Your Reflection's approval, I would be honoured to present further details and work alongside the Loremasters and members of court to ensure its success." Speaking bashfully to Sayilla, Rohese concludes, "Thank you for your consideration." Rohese drops smoothly into a deep curtsy before Sayilla, sweeping her arms grandly to her sides. Rohese takes a few steps back. Rohese lets out a sigh of relief. Speaking delightedly to Rohese, Sayilla says, "That sounds wonderful, we shall consider your proposal and respond to your petition as soon as possible." Speaking appreciatively to Sayilla, Rohese says, "Thank you, Argent MIrror." Speaking to Sayilla, Qalinor says, "I would offer my Royal Botanist for such a petition." Speaking amusedly to Qalinor, Sayilla says, "I can practically hear Feriae whooping around the arboretum now." Qalinor says, "Ah, yes, I sometimes forget you have his student's assistance." Speaking to Qalinor, Sayilla adds, "And her small mandrake." Caerinda says, "Emissary Thrassus Feydark Faendryl of Wehnimer's Landing for King Qalinor." Kothos smiles at Thrassus. (Thrassus takes a few steps forward and gives a respectful bow.) Qalinor nods at Thrassus. Missoni gazes with interest at Thrassus. Speaking to Thrassus, Qalinor says, "I would make a wager on this petition ahead of time, but please, proceed." Thrassus grins. Thrassus says, "You have read my mind, Your Excellency." Qalinor says, "It is a gift." Thrassus says, "My petition does indeed involve my previous petition." Thrassus says, "I was hoping for any news of progress on the discussions on the keep." Thrassus says, "With the construction of the bridge across the river, traffic will increase and become an attractive target for bandits and Grimswarm alike." Speaking to Thrassus, Qalinor says, "It is a challenging coversation, particularly since the construction of the bridge, yes. There are many different opinions on the matter of the village, and I have not yet reached a decision." Thrassus nods understandingly. Thrassus says, "It is a serious matter indeed, and I understand the need for deliberation." Qalinor says, "If anyone wishes, at this time, to share their opinion on the elven village in the west, this is the appropriate time to do so." Teveriel simply offers, "I am of the mind that if the villagers are nominally Vaalorian, than it is House Vaalor's duty to see them protected." Qalinor nods slightly at Teveriel. Teveriel adds, "Though I will not presume to dictate what form that protection should take." Kothos says, "Your Excellency, your Reflection. I would see my neighbors protected, if at all possible. They have long been my friends, and the Emissary is quite correct about the increased risk to their homes and businesses." Vellani flicks her open marbrinus fan up and down by her side. Aendir curiously says, "I empathize with that perspective - for certain - but question whether it would be worth the resources and headache to defend a territory so far away." Speaking to Aendir, Qalinor says, "That is the opposing perspective, certainly. Some call to grant it independence, but others call to protect it." Kothos says, "No offense, my friend." Speaking to Kothos, Aendir says, "None taken." Qalinor leans over to whisper something to Sayilla. Kothos says, "But they have been living in and operating their shops out of tents, for decades." Speaking in Elven, Gwynek cautiously asks, "Do we know what the people of the village wish?" You wonder, "Have the residents made any request for protection?" Teveriel ventures, "Forgive me if the question seems harsh. But--" Teveriel nods at Gwynek. You surreptitiously glance at Gwynek. Gwynek glances at you. You smile quietly to yourself. Qalinor says, "They have not. Perhaps you are correct that we should ask them what they wish." Speaking to Thrassus, Qalinor says, "We will endeavor to answer your petition by mid-year." Thrassus says, "Thank you for listening to my concern, that is all I had." Phinalren says, "We have one final request to speak." Caerinda says, "Squire Legionnaire Kencathedrus Caladorn Vaalor, Crimson Legion Reservist, for King Qalinor." Caerinda says, "Two final." Arbeia turns to face Kencathedrus. Qalinor gazes at Kencathedrus. Kencathedrus snaps to attention and crisply strikes his chest with a closed fist in a display of respect to Qalinor. Speaking in Elven to Qalinor, Kencathedrus asks, "My Sovereign, given the continuation of the Mutual Defense Treaty with our Illistim brethren, could the Crimson Reserve have an opportunity for joint trainings with our counterparts in Ta'Illistim?" Arastir gazes hopefully at Cyik. Arastir grins wryly. Speaking to Kencathedrus, Qalinor asks, "I believe that is an excellent idea. I think we could benefit from such a training, as the Dragoons have their own tales as legendary as our own, yes?" Cyik nods approvingly at Qalinor. Kencathedrus agrees with Qalinor. Speaking respectfully to Qalinor, Kencathedrus says, "Thank you My Sovereign." Speaking to Qalinor, Sayilla says, "Given the Sapphire Dragoon's reaction, I would not be opposed to such an agreement." Qalinor laughs softly, trying to hide his amusement. Qalinor nods at Kencathedrus. Caerinda says, "Finally, Lord Kothos Blud for--" Caerinda's cheeks flush with a soft shade of apricot. Kothos smiles at Caerinda. The fetid scent of rotting seaweed and muck wafts by, though a stirring breeze tinged with the perfume of incense quickly sweeps it away. Sirona looks thoughtfully at Kothos. Gwynek glances at Kothos. Kothos strides a few steps forward. Kothos folds his hands within the sleeves of his embroidered cassock and offers a small bow of acknowledgement. Sayilla inclines her head. Caerinda continues, "Both." Kothos says, "Thank your, your Excellency and Reflection, for hearing my requests." Kothos says, "I have two to make, one in my role as a Squire in the Silver Gryphons." Qalinor nods at Kothos. Kothos says, "And that is to extend an invitation to any members of the court and your dignitaries to our storytelling event tonight." Rohese smiles at Kothos. Kothos says, "As it will be about Tales of Chivalry. We would be honored if any of you would wish to attend." Kothos says, "The second request, I am afraid, is not so delicate." Qalinor says, "Thank you for the open invitation. We have enjoyed a positive relationship with the Silver Gryphons thus far." Perigourd furrows his brow. Kothos says, "But I hope you will hear me out, as I am quite nervous. But I must." Kothos says, "I am, as you know, a devoted servant of my Mistress." Kothos says, "And I know that many of my faith- and one in particular- has cost the people across the continent a great deal." Kencathedrus turns an inquisitive ear toward Qalinor. Kothos says, "But as a priest in my Order." Kothos asks, "I am obligated to ask- may I be permitted to minister to your prisoner, Niatha?" Aendir's expression is thoughtful, but his furrowed brow indicates he's working something out for himself. Rohese's expression toward Kothos gives the impression that perhaps a different approach is in order. Teveriel narrows his eyes. Missoni bites her lip. Frowning to himself, Perigourd runs a finger across the surface of his belt as he seems to fall into unhappy thoughts, if his expression is any indication. Khobra smirks. Shifting the woven basket on his back, Dendum glances around at the ground, a somber look across his face. Kothos says, "I do not ask to advocate for her, but it is my duty and obligation to provide her with holy service." Kothos says, "If you choose to deny, I will respect it." Kothos says, "Thank you." Kothos slowly empties his lungs. Rohese rests a gentle hand on Kothos's arm. Sayilla carefully states, "Niatha has caused irreparable damage across the continent in her pursuit for power." Rohese visibly whispers to the group, "A brave but rash request, dear friend." Kothos whispers to the group, "I only hope Sir Guarrin doesn't have my liver for lunch when he finds out." Qalinor adds, "It would be rather dangerous to allow anyone near her, especially one that may, in some ways, be sympathetic to her cause. That is not a slight on you, but you share beliefs." Sayilla says, "But as monarchs, we are not so rigid as to quickly deny such a request... but we almost must consider the lives and safety of those under our watch." Qalinor glances at Sayilla. Speaking to Qalinor, Kothos says, "An understandable precaution, your Excellency." Gwynek glances at Qalinor. Kothos says, "I had hoped..." Kothos says, "If I hear her out, and she manages the same..." Qalinor concedes, "I suppose we can take it into consideration. It will require more time than we can grant at this audience." Kothos says, "That perhaps she would take responsibility for what she has done." Kothos says, "Of course, and my thanks, for hearing me." Speaking anxiously to Kothos, Rohese whispers aloud, "What if she were to hurt you though? You are a dear friend to many." Qalinor asks, "Does anyone speak in direct opposition to this request?" Speaking to Rohese, Kothos says, "Then have faith in me, my dear. It is worth the risk." Kakoon asks, "Will there be a guard the entire time they are performing their cleric duties? Under watch and all that?" Kothos quietly says, "Now I shall go explode into anxiety-laced confetti." Speaking to Kakoon, Qalinor says, "If we were to accept such a petition, yes." Kothos says, "I would certainly hope so. Being that I have little love for pain and torment." Qalinor says, "We will answer the petition, but it will likely take much deliberation before we come to an answer to your request." Qalinor says, "Please exercise patience in the matter." Kothos says, "I am a patient priest, it rather comes with the cassock. Again, my thanks, your Excellency." Kothos reaches out and touches his aventurine Ivas symbol. Caerinda announces, "The formal court session has concluded." The legionnaires crisply strike the chest of their gilt armor three times with their fists and turn sharply on their heels. They begin to march out in two rows with the Sapphire Guard, merging into a single, uniform line as they exit through the archway. Qalinor slowly empties his lungs. Speaking to Sayilla, Qalinor whispers aloud, "Nothing exploded." Speaking slowly to Qalinor, Sayilla asks, "So don't bring in the firework-filled peahen?" Qalinor raises his voice in merry laughter. Speaking dryly in Elven to Qalinor, Jaranzair asks, "Was there concern something might?"
