On the 16th of February, 2025, Loremaster Efald met Wylnar in the viewing stands of Duskruin Arena. It has been edited to remove extra emotes but all speech and some relevant emotes are retained.
Recap
Wylnar sent Efald a note indicating he was in possession of some information of vital importance to the Library Aies and wished to discuss terms to sell this information to the Loremasters.
Log
[Duskruin Arena, Western Arc] Hot, bright fires burn in iron baskets that have been mounted in regular intervals high on the walls of this large cavern. Centered in the subterrane is a circular arena with a sand-covered floor. The air carries the lingering scent of the oil used to keep the dust at a minimum. Sloping rows of stone benches surround the floor in twelve sections, each allowing for a different spectator view. You also see the Yhtrinn disk and the mural-sided Perigourd cassone. Also here: Taelarn, Lord Teveriel, Trallihn, Loremaster Rohese, Apprentice Yhtrinn, Miss Lissaya, Efald, Perigourd Obvious exits: north, south, down Efald asks, "I take it you're not all here to watch the fights?" Speaking to Rohese, Taelarn says, "It is a pleasure for me as well, I have heard so much about you." Lissaya nods to you in greeting. Rohese looks over at Efald and shakes her head. Yhtrinn looks over at Efald and shakes his head. You smile at Rohese. Speaking lightly to Taelarn, Rohese says, "All good, I hope." Rohese beams at you, her eyes filled with delight! You see Efald Nasynr Illistim the Walker of Lore. He appears to be an Elf. He is very tall and has a muscled frame. He appears to be in the spring of life. He has almond-shaped grey-green eyes and tanned skin. He has long, straight flaxen hair loosely bound by a coil of pavonated leather. He has an angular face, a thin nose and sharply-curved pointed ears. Several sections of hair are twisted about at odd angles. He has a grey-inked silhouette of Ta'Illistim covering his right forearm. He is in good shape. He is holding a piece of ecru paper in his right hand. He is wearing a layered sapphire wool cloak caught at the sleeves by twin enamel peahens, a series of multi-pocketed leather belts over a slate grey chambray shirt, a quill-sheathed supple leather pack, a pair of ink-dark nubuck pants reinforced at the waist, and some knee-length grey leather boots tucked with a roll of parchment. Taelarn says, "Yhtrinn has been very informative about his time spent with you and others. He enjoyed himself greatly." Leaning in towards your right cheek, Rohese lightly kisses the air and quickly switches to your left to repeat the motion. Her hand lowered, Lissaya gives a subtle wave to the greater bearded vulture. Speaking bashfully to Taelarn, Rohese says, "He is being very kind." Rohese wrinkles her nose. Taelarn chuckles. An announcer shouts, "Our next combatant, Wylnar, has entered the arena!" You blink. Lissaya gets a blank look on her face. You glance down. Perigourd glances down. You begin to watch Wylnar in the arena and see... Speaking to herself, Lissaya mutters, "...why?" Rohese surprisedly asks, "Was that Wylnar's name I heard?" Rohese glances around the room. Speaking to a ruby-crested greater bearded vulture, Trallihn says, "Ahhh... a new vulture. Like I told the last one... I ain' dead yet." You murmur, "Indeed." Lissaya nods in agreement at Rohese. Teveriel lets out a long, contemplative breath. With an empathetic nod, Rohese discreetly takes Lissaya's hand in hers and gives it a momentary squeeze. Taelarn says, "He can be quite charming, at least as I have found." Rohese lets out a long, contemplative breath. You hear Wylnar call out from the dueling sands, "I have things I need." Teveriel dryly says, "No doubt." Speaking to Rohese, Perigourd says, "He has been testing his skills a bit." Speaking to Lissaya, you say, "I thought I heard his voice earlier." Speaking to Perigourd, Efald asks, "Is that who you suspect wrote this letter?" Lissaya slowly empties her lungs. Speaking to Efald, Perigourd says, "It would be my guess." Perigourd nods at Efald. Speaking to Efald, Perigourd says, "I could be wrong though." Speaking softly to Taelarn, Rohese says, "So I hope you will join us at our next bookworms gathering." You see Taelarn Eilindel Faendryl the Rake. He appears to be a Dark Elf. He is tall. He appears to be mature. He has hooded crystal green eyes and ebon skin. He has shoulder length, flowing deep red hair with a white streak running through it. He has a delicate face, a classical nose and a jagged scar below his right eye. His lineaments are thin and wiry, all especially accented by the hollowed set of his cheekbones. He has a tattoo of a grey robed skull-faced woman with white feathered wings clutching a silver scythe, a curved pale vaalin spike in his left eyebrow, a trio of twisted silver rings in his lip, and a tiny pave diamond stud in the upper ridge of his right ear. He is in good shape. He is wearing a glacial white smooth glaes armband, an etched dragonstalk pomander on a thin vaalin chain, a crow black suede neckerchief, a dark weathered duster with tattered sleeves, a pale crystal theorbo pin, a Brigatta unicorn pin, an onyx-eyed silver pin worked into the image of an aishan, a sphere encased silver scythe, a two-headed serpent symbol wrapped around a crimson blazestar, a rich ebon silk shirt, a suit of myrtle and argent vultite augmented chainmail, a despanal-eyed armband, a dark-grained glossy koa bracelet set with a large tawny sorrel crystal, a diamond-set infinity band encircling a smaller ora ring, a supple black utility kit with a silver-set heliodor clasp, an emboidered silk instrument case with a circular latch, a hare's foot talisman, a pair of black suede trousers with crimson pinstripes, and some pebbled eahnor leather boots with a trio of drakar buckles. Lissaya says, "I suppose it's a chance to assess his skills." (Teveriel watches Wylnar's fight on the sands below, mailed arms folded over his chest.) Speaking softly to Taelarn, Rohese continues, "Yhtrinn's reading was very well received." Efald pointedly says, "He's covering himself in dirt." You nod slightly at Efald. Lissaya gazes in amusement at Efald. Perigourd says, "He does better concealed, it seems." You wonder, "Was he not already filthy?" Lissaya starts chuckling at you! Taelarn smiles. Speaking to Efald, Teveriel asks, "Of course he fights dirty. Is anyone truly surprised?" You turn away with a dismissive sniff. Rohese wrinkles her nose. You hear Wylnar call out from the dueling sands, "You know how to do laundry." Speaking to Rohese, Taelarn says, "I am glad to hear that. He and I have been working on his public speaking skills." Taelarn chuckles. Lissaya raises her eyebrow, the twisted silver rings set within only enhancing her skeptical expression. Speaking to Rohese, Yhtrinn says, "All I did was quote a greater author than I, but you are too kind." Rohese softly remarks, "The more I hear of this Wylnar character, the more I am realising how disliked he is." Rohese giggles to herself. Lissaya replies, "I have a Winedotter for that." Rohese smiles at Yhtrinn. Lissaya waves her hand in a dismissive gesture. Speaking to Rohese, Yhtrinn says, "I thought it would be arrogant to speak about my own writings." Perigourd removes a perfectly clear crystal sphere from in his green leather cloak. Perigourd gazes intensely into his clear crystal sphere. Speaking to his ecru paper, Efald says, "This is not how I pictured this meeting." Speaking softly to Yhtrinn, Rohese encourages, "Not at all, please do so!" Yhtrinn peers quizzically at Efald. Teveriel looks thoughtfully at Efald. Rohese smiles at Efald. Efald offers Teveriel a piece of ecru paper. Teveriel cocks his head at Efald. Teveriel accepts Efald's ecru paper. Lissaya glances between Efald and Teveriel. Speaking to Teveriel, Efald says, "I was showing this gentleman the previous correspondence I received last evening." Efald nods at Perigourd. Adopting an agreeable expression, Perigourd nods. Teveriel nods slightly to a piece of ecru paper. Teveriel offers Efald a piece of ecru paper. Rohese inclines her head. Efald says, "And he believes the mysterious author may be that one." Efald accepts Teveriel's ecru paper. Rohese glances down. Perigourd says, "Or a compatriot." Perigourd chuckles. Perigourd repeats, "I could be wrong though." Efald offers Yhtrinn a piece of ecru paper. Yhtrinn accepts Efald's ecru paper. Teveriel agrees, "He -is- fond of clandestine letters." Taelarn raises an eyebrow. Teveriel gives a sidelong glance at Lissaya. Lissaya thoughtfully asks, "What was the seal?" Yhtrinn offers Efald a piece of ecru paper. Speaking to Yhtrinn, Efald says, "Have a peek, it's rather bland in it's construction." Oxhammer smiles at Perigourd. Efald accepts Yhtrinn's ecru paper. You nod slightly. Yhtrinn says, "How...mysterious." Yhtrinn chuckles. Speaking politely to Perigourd, Rohese inquires, "Will Lady Sabretache be joining us, by any chance?" Speaking to Lissaya, Efald says, "No seal, no stamp, just a piece of paper." Rohese inclines her head. Efald offers Lissaya a piece of ecru paper. Lissaya accepts Efald's ecru paper. You lean toward Lissaya. Lissaya gazes thoughtfully at her ecru paper. Speaking to Rohese, Perigourd says, "I believe she's making preperations for her event this evening." Lissaya nods once. Lissaya offers Efald a piece of ecru paper. Rohese nods understandingly at Perigourd. Efald accepts Lissaya's ecru paper. Lissaya slowly says, "It's not his usual paper, and is lacking his seal." Speaking disappointedly to Perigourd, Rohese says, "Alas, I won't be able to attend but do send her my fondest regards." Perigourd says, "Of course." Rohese smiles. An announcer boasts, "Combatant Wylnar is triumphant, defeating all those that opposed him." The overwhelming sound of applauding echoes throughout the stands! Speaking to Lissaya, Perigourd says, "I heard Qyuin'." Perigourd coughs. Perigourd says, "Qyin's voice earlier, rather." Speaking softly to Efald, Yhtrinn asks, "With no identifying marks, how is someone suspected?" You stop observing Wylnar, as they've disappeared somewhere unknown to you. Speaking abruptly to Rohese, Efald says, "Oh, I heard your petition for a symposium was approved, I'll have to write to you regarding any additonal arrangements that are needed." Speaking to Lissaya, Perigourd says, "One wonders if perhaps her as well." Rohese beams at Efald, her eyes filled with delight! Lissaya says, "I'll look forward to seeing her outfit." Rivienne flashes a wide grin at Rohese. You smile at Rohese. Speaking softly to Efald, Rohese says, "Indeed, I am very excited and I look forward to hearing from you." Speaking to Yhtrinn, Efald says, "The one down in the sands has a reptutation for more... interesting discoveries." Speaking warmly to Rohese, you say, "Congratulations." Rohese blushes sheepishly to herself. Speaking bashfully to you, Rohese says, "Thank you." Speaking to Rohese, Efald says, "I'm surprised Lord Veythorne didn't personally knock down your door in excitement." Speaking softly to you, Rohese says, "I am hoping you will present a paper." Rohese laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement from Efald. Teveriel says, "An information broker, or so he fancies himself. Among other things." Lissaya begrudgingly says, "He does have his fingers in quite a few pies." Speaking softly to Efald, Rohese says, "Lord Chesylrae was rather eager when we last spoke." Tabubu nods to Trallihn in greeting. Lissaya wrinkles her nose in distaste. Speaking wryly to Rohese, you say, "I shall have to note you down as a co-author simply by virtue of forcing me to adhere to a deadline." Rohese laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement. Wylnar just arrived. Efald curiously asks, "Is anyone familiar with the underground excavations here in the arena?" Perigourd glances appraisingly at Wylnar. Wylnar yawns. Lissaya gives a sidelong glance at Wylnar. Wylnar just opened an arena winnings package. Speaking softly to Rivienne, Rohese says, "The same goes for you too." Speaking to Efald, Taelarn says, "Can I ask what sort of discoveries? I always am interested in new discovereis of various sorts..." Wylnar removes an embossed vaalorn buckler from in his winnings package. Speaking to Wylnar, Perigourd says, "Your footwork needs improving." Speaking to Efald, Yhtrinn asks, "Beneath the sewers?" Speaking neutrally to Wylnar, Teveriel acknowledges, "Brightcloak." Speaking to Perigourd, Wylnar says, "My foodwork was fine." You narrow your eyes. Perigourd chuckles. Wylnar says, "You only watched me warming up." You see Wylnar the Shadowbroker. He appears to be a Half-Elf from Ta'Vaalor. He is average height and has a lithesome, nimble build. He appears to be an adult. He has kohl-lined jade green eyes and ghostly pale skin. He has waist-length, silken white blonde hair threaded sparsely with leather beads and left to flow freely over his broad shoulders. He has an angular face, a scar-crossed, straight nose and subtly pointed ears. He is in good shape. He is holding an arena winnings package in his right hand and an embossed vaalorn buckler in his left hand. He is wearing a vivid pink linen cape with arabesque-stitched edging, a multi-strapped onyx suede harness over some sleek ebon shadarl armor banded in tonal suede, a pair of stygian half-gloves, a niello silver signet worn on the right pinky, a black leather tool kit, and some thin black leather boots wrapped in dark linen scraps. Wylnar gazes thoughtfully at his vaalorn buckler. Wylnar put an embossed vaalorn buckler in his pink linen cape. Wylnar throws away his package. Speaking to Rohese, Rivienne exclaims, "I think I asked if I could as soon as I heard of it!" Speaking to Yhtrinn, Efald says, "The sewers and whatnot, I thought I heard about several floors worth of underground passages here." Speaking carefully to Wylnar, Rohese says, "You must be the infamous Wylnar I've heard tell of." Wylnar nods at Teveriel. Lissaya curiously asks, "Are all your warmups usually so... slow?" Speaking pleasantly to Wylnar, you agree, "A warmup that took nearly five minutes." Wylnar glances at you. Speaking amusedly to Taelarn, Efald says, "You can ask him yourself." Efald nods at Wylnar. Rivienne looks thoughtfully at Wylnar. Taelarn glances at Wylnar. Speaking to you, Wylnar says, "Perhaps we can warm up with each other some time." Lissaya gets a blank look on her face. Speaking to Wylnar, Nalira says, "I watched you in the arena." Perigourd turns toward Kippe and renders a sharp salute with his amber Wildwood whiskey. Wylnar squints at Nalira. Lissaya surreptitiously glances between Wylnar and yourself. Speaking to Nalira, Wylnar asks, "The bad puns? Did I say a bad pun?" You hear Qyin yell, "Better be making us more silver Wylnar!" Speaking to Wylnar, Nalira says, "You're fired...to a fire giant..." Speaking to Nalira, Wylnar says, "I was saying that to Qyin." Nalira asks, "Or I'm going to fire you?" Nalira says, "Oh." Rohese clears her throat. Speaking to Rohese, Wylnar says, "I am Wylnar, though, to answer your assumption." Speaking suddenly to Wylnar, Efald says, "This is yours, I assume." Wylnar amusedly says, "What a reputation I have." Efald offers Wylnar a piece of ecru paper. Speaking quietly to Rohese, Tabubu says, "Now we all know." Rohese nods appreciatively at Wylnar. Wylnar gives a sidelong glance at Efald. Wylnar accepts Efald's ecru paper. Wylnar gazes thoughtfully at his ecru paper. Wylnar allows, "It might be." Wylnar offers Efald a piece of ecru paper. Perigourd glances between Wylnar and Efald. Rohese wrinkles her nose. Efald accepts Wylnar's ecru paper. Efald gazes heavenward. Speaking to Wylnar, Efald says, "I assume you understand the importance of our current project." Speaking evenly to Efald, Wylnar says, "You may need to show me exactly how important." Wylnar wryly says, "I often find enlightment through the possession of notes or silver." Speaking jokingly to Wylnar, Efald says, "Important enough to fund your current endeavors." You quietly whisper to Lissaya, "Was the note another offer to sell something valuable?" Rohese giggles softly at Yhtrinn. You hear Qyin yell, "Ask him for a boat, Wylnar!" Speaking to Efald, Wylnar says, "We're getting closer to my understanding, I think." Wylnar groans. Speaking to Wylnar, Taelarn says, "Silver can greese quite a few palms, at least I believe so." You hear Qyin yell, "Wait, two boats!" Sir Guarrin arrives, his figure partially obscured by the flickering form of a storm griffin made of argent light soaring beside him. Lissaya whispers, "Information that is "vital" to the Loremaster's current project." Speaking to Taelarn, Yhtrinn says, "Silver moves the world, you know that." You hear Qyin yell, "Then I want a pet bear!" You hear Traiva call out from the dueling sands, "Why not? Boats are great!" Wylnar looks pale just at the thought of a boat. Somehow, considering he's already ridiculously pale. Perigourd chuckles. You chuckle to yourself. Imrys pleasantly says, "Good afternoon." Speaking cordially to Rohese, Guarrin says, "Afternoon. Good to see you." From nearby, you hear Qyin yell, "See! Boats are great!" Speaking warmly to Guarrin, Rohese says, "Likewise, Sir Guarrin." Speaking to Yhtrinn, Taelarn says, "Yes, I do know." Teveriel dryly jests, "High aspirations, that Qyin." Perigourd says, "One has a bear, though it's a bit imbued." Teveriel curiously asks, "What is this project of yours, anyway?" Teveriel cocks his head at Efald. Lissaya gazes with interest at Efald. Speaking to Teveriel, Perigourd says, "Restoring the Libarary Aeis, I believe." Speaking softly to Guarrin, Rohese laments, "I am so sorry that I can't make your event this evening, it sounds wonderful." Speaking to Efald, Wylnar says, "If I am to understand correctly, when your city failed for so very long to find your missing... citizens..." Speaking to Wylnar, Efald says, "Once you figure out boat or bear, I'm sure we can supply ample funding. The library is too important of a project to work on half-assedly." Rohese softly relays, "The Library Aies, I should have known that." Efald looks thoughtfully at Wylnar. Rohese nods at Yhtrinn. Lissaya cocks her head. Speaking to Rohese, Guarrin says, "Ah, that is unfortunate to hear. I just saw some of it this morning with Bathcwyn Missoni. It is coming together nicely." You gaze with interest at Efald. Speaking softly to Yhtrinn, Rohese says, "The restoration of the Library Aies is the project they are referring to." Wylnar adds, "How fortunate it is that you had me to find your people for you, hm?" Wylnar says, "Though, I suppose some people here helped." Speaking to Guarrin, Kippe says, "You picked a perfect site and a perfect host." Speaking softly to Rohese, Yhtrinn asks, "Was it damaged or destroyed?" Speaking to Kippe, Guarrin agrees, "We are most fortunate." Wylnar gives a sidelong glance at Lissaya. Speaking softly to Yhtrinn, Rohese says, "Oh no, just in need of a good spring clean." Lissaya tilts her head slightly, turning her attention to Wylnar. She regards Wylnar in a measured fashion, collecting her thoughts. Speaking silkily to Lissaya, Wylnar asks, "Do you want some of the credit?" (Kippe nods agreeably at Guarrin.) Speaking politely to Wylnar, Efald says, "As I was not part of the search and rescue, I will have to agree to disagree." A pained expression crosses Lissaya's face. Rohese softly exclaims, "What on earth is she doing in the arena!" Speaking fondly to Traiva, Rohese says, "I was hoping you would join us." Wylnar asks, "Well, as I was saying... I understand that you found some... unknown passages during your retrieval of one of your citizens?" Wylnar amusedly asks, "Being used by the... villains?" Wylnar looks thoughtfully at Efald. Lissaya glances between Efald and Wylnar. Rohese inclines her head. Speaking to Wylnar, Efald concedes, "The discovery of the catacombs and Thaiagol's laboratory, I do agree that there may be sites beneath the city that we weren't aware of." Yhtrinn shifts his eyes to Efald. Rohese mutters under her breath. Speaking to Efald, Wylnar asks, "And if I had specific knowledge of these sites?" Rohese glances away. Wylnar raises an eyebrow in Efald's direction. Wylnar wryly asks, "How many bears is that worth?" Lissaya chuckles. Lissaya coughs. Wylnar winks at Lissaya. Lissaya clears her throat. From nearby, you hear Qyin yell, "Wylnar, that's at least three and a half bears!" Speaking simply to Wylnar, Efald says, "Two bears." Wylnar yells, "Will you quit trying to negotiate for me? Go heckle some arena combatants." Speaking slowly to himself, Perigourd asks, "What would they do with the bears...?" Rohese takes a slow, deep breath then pinches the bridge of her nose. Yhtrinn softly says, "I did not know bears were a currency." From nearby, you hear Qyin yell, "You call THAT a swing!" Kippe squints at Wylnar. Speaking to Yhtrinn, Wylnar says, "It's a metaphor." Trallihn says, "More currencies t'keep up with exchange rates on? Bears, bloodscrips..." Speaking confusedly to Traiva, Kippe admits, "I do not know." Yhtrinn nods at Wylnar. Speaking to Efald, Wylnar says, "I came across a most interesting document quite recently." Speaking to Wylnar, Efald says, "Well, you have a captive audience." Perigourd looks thoughtfully at Wylnar. Teveriel raises an eyebrow in Wylnar's direction. From nearby, you hear Qyin yell, "Defeat them faster!" Wylnar paces back and forth at a slow, leisurely gait, a thoughtful expression on his face. Wylnar says, "I doubt you brought enough coin for me to part with such singular and valuable information." Wylnar glances at Efald. From nearby, you hear Qyin yell, "That's why we have promissory notes Wylnar!" You ask, "An excavation of the known passages would surely lead to others without having to offer up any ursine bounties. What about this knowledge makes it so rare and valuable?" Yhtrinn nods in agreement to you. Yhtrinn raises an eyebrow. Speaking to you, Wylnar says, "Not every passageway can be accessed with simple excavation." Speaking to Tabubu, Trallihn says, "Sounds like the rocks that was falling on our head a few nights back..." Wylnar says, "This is Ta'Illistim, not Ta'Vaalor." Speaking to you, Efald says, "We scoured all the previous schematics for the original build of the Library Aies and none mentioned the possibilities of those catacombs." Speaking to Wylnar, Taelarn asks, "What might be required to access those passages?" Speaking to Taelarn, Wylnar says, "Knowledge, generally." Speaking to Efald, Taelarn asks, "Do you believe they were created after the initial construction?" Taelarn nods at Wylnar. Wylnar asks, "It is common knowledge the Library Aies is well-warded with spells unparalleled, hm?" Speaking thoughtfully to Taelarn, Efald says, "There would have been some movement beneath the library itself, or reported construction." Rohese softly says, "And rightly so." Efald nods once at Wylnar. Speaking to you, Wylnar says, "It would not be so simple to access its secrets as to just... start excavating with an educated guess." Lissaya raises her eyebrow, the twisted silver rings set within only enhancing her skeptical expression. Rohese softly posits, "Perhaps the earthquake that struck the city some years ago dislodged something?" Speaking to Efald, Yhtrinn asks, "It is possible these tunnels are older than the Library?" Wylnar glances between Efald and Yhtrinn. Yhtrinn coughs. Taelarn asks, "Would those same spells that protect the Library ward against sounds perhaps? Or prevent the other movements from being detected under the library if construction did occur?" Speaking to Rohese, Traiva whispers aloud, "But then he would not be able to extract a price." Speaking to Yhtrinn, Efald says, "The possibility is there, yes." Speaking to you, Perigourd says, "We took an exploration beneath Vornavis a year or so back and there were dangers there as well, and Vornavis isn't nearly the age of the Shining City." Speaking to Efald, Wylnar says, "I have no doubt that we can come to an agreed upon price." Wylnar amusedly adds, "And, as ever, I am most charitable." Speaking to Wylnar, Efald notes, "If you have this information and you're not stringing me along." Traiva raises an eyebrow. Speaking to Perigourd, you say, "I don't doubt that there are secrets beneath the City, I simply wonder whether his pockets may be filled with recently-dug dirt." You smile at Perigourd. Wylnar says, "In the interest of our common ancestors, I do wish for you to have the documents." Perigourd scratches at his beard. Rohese softly ponders, "But the Shining City is built on a solid promontory of rock and is surely safer than a port town?" Perigourd removes a handful of dirt from in his leather kit. Perigourd furrows his brow. Perigourd put a handful of dirt in his leather kit. Speaking to Rohese, Traiva says, "Or perhaps more dangerous, with having to tunnel through the rock." Speaking to you, Wylnar says, "There's likely some dirt in my pockets. I was kicking quite a bit up in the arena." Speaking to Rohese, Efald says, "With the influx of new scholars arriving, we're hoping to ensure the safety of the scholars and the workers within the building." Rohese smiles at Efald. Speaking to Wylnar, you praise, "Indeed, at some length." You smile at Wylnar. Speaking to Wylnar, Traiva says, "You will have to forgive me, as I missed all of the earlier discussion." Speaking respectfully to Efald, Rohese clarifies, "I had no doubt that you would hold the safety of all concerned as a priority." Efald inclines his head. Taelarn asks, "Are there planned expeditions into the tunnels to let individuals attempt to learn from these tunnels? Or perhaps finding something yet unknown about them?" Speaking to Efald, Wylnar says, "I think you will find the shell of your library to be deceiving." Efald looks thoughtfully at Wylnar. Taelarn glances at Wylnar. Rohese frowns at Wylnar. Wylnar removes a large folded parchment worn along the creases from in his pink linen cape. Wylnar tilts his folded parchment side to side, making the light play off it. Speaking to Wylnar, Taelarn asks, "May I ask what you mean by that?" Lissaya gazes with interest at Wylnar. Tabubu gazes with interest at Wylnar. Wylnar glances at Taelarn. Speaking politely to Wylnar, Efald says, "We are ensuring that the foundations are sound, but there may have been flaws throughout the years." Speaking to Efald, Wylnar says, "That is not what I am referring to." Wylnar says, "It is like... ah, one of those bags." Wylnar waves his hand as though trying to find the word for it. Rohese looks thoughtfully at Wylnar. Wylnar says, "They hold more than they appear to from the outside." Lissaya nods once. Speaking to Taelarn, Efald says, "We did seal up most of the catacombs, but while doing so, we found several crates of material that were never catalogued." Speaking softly to Efald, Rohese exclaims, "Interesting!" Speaking to Efald, Wylnar says, "What I mean to say is that I think there are rooms that you do not know exist." Taelarn says, "This is all very interesting." Rohese nods in agreement at Taelarn. Wylnar gazes thoughtfully at his folded parchment. Speaking to Rohese, Efald says, "But all the necessary precautions must be taken to ensure the materials aren't warded or whatnot, it's an intriguing discovery with this new crop of scholars." Rohese nods understandingly at Efald. Teveriel lifts his chin slightly toward Guarrin and, in a display of solidarity, taps his fist against his vaalorn plate-and-mail twice in quick succession. Speaking softly to Efald, Rohese says, "Of course." Wylnar says, "Unless, of course, this parchment is a forgery, but I have reasonable proof that it is not." Rohese wrinkles her nose. Lissaya raises her eyebrow, the twisted silver rings set within only enhancing her skeptical expression. Speaking to Wylnar, Efald says, "We know some exist, just their locations aren't fully recorded." Rohese thoughtfully taps a finger against her lips. Speaking curiously to Efald, Lissaya asks, "You mentioned the tunnels below the arena? Are they somehow related to all this?" Speaking to Efald, Wylnar says, "Perhaps some, but likely not the extent." Speaking to Lissaya, Efald says, "Oh, I was interested in their origins if anyone had any previous information." Lissaya nods slowly. Kippe glances between Lissaya and Efald. Speaking to Efald, Wylnar asks, "This is from the Library of Biblia. I prefer not to eplain how I acquired it, but I trust that you will honor an agreement to pay what it is worth upon review of the document?" Rohese raises an eyebrow. Speaking to Lissaya, Efald says, "I was informed that these particular ones sealed away a few creatures, though I hope that's not the case for the Shining City." Teveriel wonders, "Would those rooms have been sealed intentionally? Or the method of access simply lost to time?" Speaking indignantly to Wylnar, Rohese exclaims, "I hope they weren't acquired by nefarious means!" Wylnar shrugs at Teveriel. Speaking to Rohese, Wylnar asks, "When am I ever nefarious?" Rohese takes a slow, deep breath then pinches the bridge of her nose. Efald raises an eyebrow in Wylnar's direction. Speaking to Wylnar, Taelarn asks, "May I ask what you seek to gain for such information?" Lissaya squints at Wylnar. Teveriel glances dubiously at Wylnar. Lissaya asks, "Is that a serious question?" Speaking to Taelarn, Yhtrinn says, "Good will and silver, I imagine." Speaking to Lissaya, Wylnar says, "A coy one, probably." Wylnar smirks at Lissaya. Leaning into Dendum, Tabubu shields her mouth with her open silk fan and whispers something inaudible. Lissaya slowly empties her lungs. Speaking to Wylnar, Teveriel says, "I would characterize you as 'precarious' more than nefarious." Speaking to Taelarn, Yhtrinn asks, "Two bears of silver, whatever that is worth?" Speaking to Yhtrinn, Taelarn says, "I meant more to the extent of how much that exactly is..." Speaking to Yhtrinn, Taelarn says, "I don't happen to know what the going rate of bears are..." Speaking to Taelarn, Yhtrinn says, "I am sure we can price some bears later, if you want one." Speaking slowly to Wylnar, Efald asks, "How did you acquire something from Biblia, exactly?" You remind, "There was already a recent issue with items in the Shining City being acquired in a disreputable manner. Provenance matters." Rohese looks thoughtfully at Wylnar. Rivienne says, "Yet another currency to be dealt with." Speaking to Efald, Wylnar repeats, "I'd prefer not to have to explain it. If you are worried about the origins of the article, I'm sure I can find some lorehunters who are interested in paying for it, but I thought I'd do the charitable thing first." Lissaya raises her eyebrow, the twisted silver rings set within only enhancing her skeptical expression. Dendum says, "Eh...well if there is thing for sale....have a few silvers..." Wylnar says, "I do have some morals." Kippe raises an eyebrow in Wylnar's direction. Wylnar holds up two fingers and slowly pinches them together until they are almost touching. Dendum says, "Just a few..." Rohese nods slowly at Trallihn. Speaking amusedly to Wylnar, Efald says, "I was just offering you a chance to tell us how you acquired them, as I'm sure there's a fascinating story attached to it." Speaking to Wylnar, Traiva counters, "We all have morals." Speaking to Efald, Wylnar says, "It's probably best you don't know." Lissaya gives a sidelong glance at Traiva. Wylnar says, "Though, that device I acquired at the auction was quite useful for trade." From nearby, you hear Qyin yell, "It involved a lot of sneaking around!" Speaking to Wylnar, Taelarn says, "Such a shame, I always love hearing new and exciting stories." Lissaya smirks. Speaking to Efald, Wylnar asks, "Do you give me your word on a proper payment upon validating the document?" Speaking respectfully to Efald, Rohese advises, "I would think carefully before agreeing to anything that may tarnish the reputation of the Loremasters any further." Wylnar gives a sidelong glance at Rohese. The odor of sulfur accompanies the arrival of Aendir. Rohese surreptitiously glances at Wylnar. Speaking to Rohese, Wylnar says, "In all fairness, the document clearly belongs to the Illistim. It likely should not have been in Biblia to begin with." Rohese nods understandingly at Wylnar. Wylnar says, "Consider it a finders fee for returning it." Speaking to Rohese, Efald says, "The Inquisitors mentioned him briefly a few months past." Wylnar offers Efald a large folded parchment worn along the creases. Efald accepts Wylnar's folded parchment. Speaking thoughtfully to Wylnar, Traiva observes, "Yes. Charitable." Lissaya glances between Efald and Wylnar. Speaking dubiously to Wylnar, Rohese says, "Then I'm sure the Loremaster will make the right decision." Speaking to Traiva, Wylnar says, "I am known for being charitable." Wylnar folds his arms over his chest. Speaking to his folded parchment, Efald murmurs, "Now that's an interesting layout." Traiva wryly says, "So you said." Speaking to Efald, Wylnar asks, "As I said, the shell is deceitful, yes?" Speaking to Wylnar, Efald says, "It does appear to be." You quietly whisper to Aendir, "The scoundrel is attempting to sell another relic, this time directly to the Loremasters. He alleges it reveals some information about tunnels and passages beneath the Aeis." You quietly whisper to Aendir, "And perhaps some hidden rooms within the library itself." Speaking to Efald, Wylnar says, "I would not drag a Loremaster of Ta'Illistim all the way here if I did not have something of value." Aendir whispers, "It sounds like it contains useful information. How much does he want for it?" Wylnar says, "I have a reputation to uphold." Wylnar says, "Several, apparently." Lissaya wrinkles her nose. Tabubu quietly says, "Your friend has good ears." You quietly whisper to Aendir, "He has not requested a ... realistic payment yet. His compatriot Qyin wishes for bears." You smirk at Aendir. Aendir whispers, "... Bears?" You quietly whisper to Aendir, "She is a whimsical creature." Wylnar whispers aloud, "Efald It's probably best we discuss payment after you have validated the document and we don't have an audience that feels they should help decide what is fair and appropriate." Nalira asks, "Oh, were we doing that?" Speaking to Wylnar, Efald agrees, "You bring in quite a crowd, though." Rohese makes an audible huffing noise as she pouts at Wylnar. Lissaya gives a sidelong glance at Efald. Speaking wryly to Efald, Wylnar says, "It's my stellar reputation." A derisive snort escapes Lissaya, who quickly clasps a hand over her mouth. Speaking dismissively to Wylnar, Traiva says, "There are Illistim here, and others with interests in Ta'Illistim. Knowing there is a deal to be struck will start speculation of your price." Kippe glances at Lissaya. From nearby, you hear Qyin yell, "Yes, speed it up, everyone go faster!" Speaking to Wylnar, Nalira says, "You fight decent enough." Leaning into Dendum, Tabubu shields her mouth with her open silk fan and whispers something inaudible. Speaking concernedly to Lissaya, Kippe says, "Don't hurt yourself." From nearby, you hear Qyin yell, "You can take all twenty-five if you put your mind to it!" Lissaya nods understandingly at Kippe. Speaking to Nalira, Wylnar admits, "I am a bit out of practice. I normally use my words, not my blades." Tabubu quietly says, "Dendum has a point, It is time to head to the Kraken's Fall for some warmth on the beach and a kite." Speaking annoyedly to Wylnar, Rohese huffs, "It may surprise you to know that many of us here have the best interests of our beloved city in mind." Efald says, "For those who I see peeking over my shoulder, we'll have to assess if this parchment is authentic, then see about reading these smudged out bits." Speaking to Rohese, Wylnar asks, "You assume I do not?" You glance skeptically at Wylnar. Speaking softly to Wylnar, Rohese exclaims, "The more I learn of you, the more I am convinced you do not!" Aendir grins. Wylnar says, "I have already helped retrieve your old Mirror." Tabubu quietly says, "Good luck with this purchase, I look forward to hearing how this turns out." Wylnar says, "And the lordling." Rohese mutters under her breath. Rohese nods slowly at Trallihn. Speaking evenly to Rohese, Traiva mouths, "Mercenary." Traiva shrugs at Rohese. Rohese wrinkles her nose. Trallihn says, "I look forward t'learning the exchange rate for bears an' half bears." Efald nods at Trallihn. Wylnar says, "Contrary to perceptions, I do have some love for the Nations." Wylnar waves his hand in a dismissive gesture. Speaking softly to Traiva, Rohese acknowledges, "His reputation did precede him, I suppose." Wylnar glances at Efald. Speaking to Wylnar, Traiva quips, "And its wealths?" Speaking to Traiva, Wylnar says, "That may be part of it." Taelarn says, "I am not even sure where to begin finding out what such an exchange rate would entail..." You nod slightly at Traiva. Wylnar smirks. Speaking to Wylnar, Efald says, "I will concede you do seem to assist more than get in the way." Lissaya holds up her hand and tilts it side to side in a so-so gesture. Speaking to Efald, Wylnar says, "I am never in the way. Sometimes you lot are in my way." Speaking to Wylnar, Efald says, "But it does keep you on your toes." Wylnar smirks. Rohese gazes with a distinctly annoyed countenance at her surroundings. Wylnar glances around the room. Wylnar asks, "I think I'll return to the arena, unless someone has something they need from me?" You quietly whisper to Rohese, "I wonder if the Loremasters could simply write to Biblia and inquire about what happened." Wylnar glances between Lissaya and yourself. Lissaya raises her eyebrow, the twisted silver rings set within only enhancing her skeptical expression. Wylnar raises an eyebrow. Speaking to Wylnar, Kippe says, "That would depend on what you have." Speaking wryly to Kippe, Wylnar says, "Anything you want." Rohese whispers, "An excellent question!" Speaking flatly to Wylnar, Lissaya says, "You wish." From nearby, you hear Qyin yell, "Make us more silver, Wylnar!" Speaking skeptically to Wylnar, Kippe inquires, "Anything?" Speaking to Lissaya, Wylnar says, "It is my life's greatest want." Speaking to Wylnar, Taelarn says, "I think many of us simply wish to see what it is you have access to...even if we must find the current bear rate in silver." Lissaya wrinkles her nose in distaste. Speaking to Kippe, Wylnar adds, "Assuming you can afford it." Efald murmurs, "I should journey back to the city before he asks for another bear." Speaking to Wylnar, Kippe concedes, "Excellent point." Lissaya begins chuckling at Efald! Speaking to Efald, Wylnar says, "I will give you 24 hours." Speaking to Wylnar, you say, "Do take care with your blades, they looked so heavy." You smile at Wylnar. Speaking to Efald, Wylnar says, "I'll be in the city tomorrow to see if you wish to keep the document." Speaking softly to Efald, Rohese says, "Should you require any assistance, do not hesitate to ask." Wylnar glances at you. Speaking to Efald, Taelarn says, "If you do, it would be an honor to assist in any way we can." Speaking to Wylnar, Efald says, "We'll send your payment once we've confirmed the authenticity of the parchment." Speaking to you, Wylnar says, "I did not know you chose to watch me so closely." Speaking to Efald, Taelarn says, "I am sure I speak for both my spouse, Yhtrinn, and I, that we would help with such an expedition." Yhtrinn says, "Yes, most certainly." Speaking lightly to Wylnar, you say, "You should not be surprised, however." Speaking to you, Wylnar says, "I should not. I have heard I am easy on the eyes." Efald says, "We'll be sure to reach out once we have our peahens in proper order." You chuckle. Speaking to Wylnar, you say, "You are easy to spot in the dark, that is true." Efald raises a hand in farewell before departing. Rohese glances between Wylnar and yourself. Rohese giggles to herself. Wylnar glances at you. Kippe glances between Lissaya and Wylnar. The voice of Wylnar asks, "Is that so?" Speaking softly to you, Rohese whispers aloud, "A battle of wits, I think I know who will win." Rohese gazes fondly at you. You chuckle to yourself. Speaking to Rohese, Wylnar says, "You give her far too much credit." Wylnar says, "I have won at least once." Wylnar smirks. Speaking to Wylnar, Traiva says, "And you give yourself too much." You hear Qyin yell, "It took him most of the morning though!" Speaking hushedly to Rohese, Wylnar says, "Though, we do not speak of that." You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement. Speaking pointedly to Wylnar, Rohese says, "I merely give her the credit she is due." Rohese smiles at Wylnar. Lissaya grins at Kippe. Wylnar smirks. Wylnar says, "Well..." Speaking understandingly to Lissaya, Kippe mouths, "Ah." Rohese softly says, "I am not known for exaggeration." Rohese examines her fingernails. Lissaya blushes a light pink hue to the tips of her ears. Rohese winks at you. Kippe glances appraisingly at Wylnar. Wylnar says, "I expect we'll meet again, if the Illistimi choose to delve deeper into the library." You smile at Rohese. Yhtrinn says, "I do hope they will." Wylnar says, "I would hardly skip an opportunity to see relics and books hidden for millennia." Speaking reluctantly to Wylnar, Rohese says, "It has been a ... pleasure... to finally meet you." You wish, "A good afternoon to my friends." Speaking to Wylnar, Teveriel counters, "No doubt." Speaking to Wylnar, Yhtrinn says, "Many of us feel the same." Your hand lowered, you give a subtle wave. Speaking to Teveriel, Wylnar says, "I'll keep my hands in my pockets." Speaking to you, Lissaya asks, "And a bad afternoon to the rest?" You smile at Lissaya. Teveriel skeptically murmurs, "Mm." Speaking to Rohese, Wylnar says, "You are the first to say such a thing."
