Subject: A Sheaf of Flesh, a Harvest of Blood

Rumors have spread that a number of Imaeran worshippers, said to be all sylvan, were butchered near Lake Marliese among the Lysierian Hills a short distance from Wehnimer’s Landing. A forest fire burned away many of the bodies left in the wake of the assault, but a local bard named Fyonn was able to glean some information from one of the corpses who had avoided most of the flames. The song of the dead told of towering men in pristine white armor, their eyes cold and black, their blades skilled and merciless. The local townspeople and adventures were alerted of the situation after it was too late, by a young sylvan boy who had escaped the attack, but has not been seen since.

It did not take long for many to accuse the organization of Koar zealots known as the Blameless as carrying out the execution, and many were left in dismay that any agents of Koar would find cause to murder the followers of a fellow Liabo Arkati.

Days after the news, Prelate Chaston Griffin, while enroute to the Barony of Bourth, was reported to have weighed in on the events.

“Word has reached me that a handful of supposed Imaeran followers had been brutally murdered near Wehnimer’s Landing, shortly after my departure from the area. I will be the first to tell the world, that our enemies, and the enemies of the Godking Koar, do not always appear before us in masks of shadows, or wielding blades of fire or wearing horns the shade of blood. No, truth be told, many times our enemies are like wolves in sheep’s clothing, hiding behind lies, while performing dark and unnatural acts upon both the innocence of life and of nature. Koar’s Light is as piercing as it is unyielding. There is no end to its power and reach, and there is no shadow or falsehood that can escape its grasp. You may weep for the loss of children of Imaera, but your tears will be as hollow as the faith of those who perished. They hid hearts of blackness behind faces of white, and a harvest of blood has sent them from this world, to forever walk in a curse before the gates of Koarguard, a punishment befitting their sin of blasphemy.”
