A Twist of Taessaet (storyline)/Negotiations with Yfane (vignette)

Storyline Vignette: ATOT - A Twist of Terms: Negotiations with Yfane: Released 27 May 2024

Fizwixit sighed happily; it was finally done.  The negotiations with Lord Yfane for their old hangover cure were complete, and the terms quite generous.  

It had taken several weeks.  First, she had had to wait for the chaos surrrounding 5124's Rumor Woods to die down in Fryc & Shives Laboratories.  Then, she had had to find the recipe and get her sister to distill it down to actual steps that could be written down and make sense to anyone outside FSL.  And finally, she had had to negotiate with High Lady Vonnalaiel and not Yfane himself, and she was a formidable negotiator.  

Word had reached Lady Vonnalaiel about Fizwixit's loom research as well, and thus, dual negotiations across numerous letters resulted in what Fizwixit now held before her -- signed terms of exclusive deals with Fryc & Shives Laboratories.

First, in exchange for the hangover recipe, which for some reason they believe to be relevant to the making of the Nalfein's fancy rosesilk, FSL would receive a substantial silver figure as well as a small percentage of any future sales of the taessaet creation process and an even smaller percentage of future sales of taessaet.  Said percentages would last the lifetimes of both Fryc and Shives only.  For brokering the deal, Fizwixit received a generous lump sum payment and a small portion of FSL profits.

Second, a significant settlement was provided upon Fizwixit individually and FSL collectively for any and all of Fizwixit's loom research.  In addition, FSL was now the official clockwork loom maker for Ta'Nalfein's fashion district with promising negotiations opened with Ta'Illistim and Ta'Loenthra as well.  While this was not an exclusive contract, it was a lucrative one in a virtually untapped market.  

Fizwixit's triaxial loom design, based off old records and signficant studies of elesine, as well as interviews with any survivors of Caligos Isle that may have had knowledge of its weaving, was currently under review.  While some knowledge of elesine clearly lasted on Caligos, it was a painstakingly manual process, resulting in the fabric being incredibly rare.  Further testing is required, but if FSL's calculations were correct, this loom would allow for a more expedient production of elesine.  Both Fizwixit and FSL stood to benefit greatly from this.

Lady Auvyra had sent over some scholars to review Fizwixit's collection of loom research and buried deep within some barely legible parchments, the engineer and the scholars hit fabric gold -- partial schematics of what is believed to be a taessaet loom.  With FSL permissions and a few lucrative contracts, Fizwixit's duties now are focused on experimenting with the various results of Yfane's work coupled with her looms.

The final key, many now believe, lies in determining the proper ingredients of the nielira elixir.
