Akaylas Catorai Faendryl spent his formative years in New Ta'Faendryl, rigorously focusing on studies. An interest in both demonology and necromancy, as well as an insatiable hunger for knowledge, led to quiet reverence for Fash'lo'nae. In the Frontier Lands, he pursued Alchemy and Illusions, furthered his studies of Demonology and Planar Shifting, often tempting fate through deliberately botching shifts to attract abyran'ra, even slaying a Lithe black abyran'ra single handedly.
Though Akaylas presents himself as affable and even-keeled, softened by his time and friendships in Wehnimer's Landing, his Faendryl heritage betrays his disposition, often resulting in sardonic and sarcastic outlook towards those that lack his academic outlook towards the world.
