Here is a list of the Bug Fixes, Updates, and More that took place in 2024
Stun Damage
All stuns from damage now have a new cap of 6 rounds (30 seconds) against characters and 12 rounds (60 seconds) against creatures. Survival training can reduce the duration by -1% per 5 ranks up until 100 ranks, then -1% per 20 ranks after that. Similar to critical weighting, to make training that results in less than full round reduction worthwhile, there's chance to round up/down. e.g. a 4 round stun is 20 seconds, but Survival training reduces it to 18 seconds. There is then a 60% chance for it to be a 4 round stun and a 40% chance for it to be a 3 round stun.
Assume Aspect (650) will now list the cooldown for each aspect in SPELL ACTIVE
.
- A bug with Flare Affinity has been corrected where some sources of damage were incorrectly benefiting from it. As noted in the original announcement, it only benefits from Category B flares (which does include creature bane).
- Something is on that - The restriction that nothing can be on an item you are trying to GET has been removed. You can now GET items with items on top, including jars on specimen boards, fishing rods on tackle boxes, candles on candleholders, items on boxes, and so on.
- There has been a bug since Premium Points were introduced that would report back the wrong number of points spent, which sometimes would have negative numbers or give the impression that an account has more points then they have when they are NOT Premium. It took quite a bit, but I believe I finally tracked down the bug. This was happening due to character transfers from a Premium account to a Basic account. The issue is, the Premium routine doesn't run when you're not Premium, so it never updates the the points earned/spent until you upgrade back to Premium on that transferred character. I will be rolling in a fix this weekend that should resolve this.
- When Tangle Weed (610) was updated with the Spell Disabler Review, it was transitioned to the new formula for Spell Power strength, which reduced the disparity between characters with less than 1x spell ranks and those with more than 1x. At the same time, the lore bonus was rescaled (as the previously bonus was providing the equivalent of ~38 levels of effectiveness at 100 ranks, which was eclipsed most other factors). Moonbeam (611) will receive a similar update (and will also benefit from a single target disabler bonus)
- Rune Tattoos will now display the total charges and how many remain for each spell:

> It looks really cool! As your examine your tattoo more closely, several runes begin to stand out... The runes for the Strength (509) spell appear dark and vibrant (2 of 2 charges remaining). The runes for the Astral Vault (1417) spell appear dark and vibrant (2 of 2 charges remaining).
- The trees in the warrior guild courtyard on FWI should now be dropping leaves for tasks. Note you will still need to fulfill any usual conditions around such tasks.
- Many NPCs in Ta'Illistim will now return a "no thanks" message if you try to GIVE them something, instead of no message at all.
- BCS has been modified to appropriately dispose of ammo from ranged weapons fired by critters (including animates). This should prevent the occurrence where bows are looted with arrows found inside.
- Casting 120 on another player will now misfire if 120 is already active and the new duration is shorter than the existing duration.
- Characters may now renounce citizenship from any town with a citizenship office. Previously the character would need to be in the town of citizenship. The method for renouncing citizenship - CLEANing the tome or book - is unchanged.
- Fixed some display issues when LOOKing or SHOWing some armaments with subscripts: rotflares, notflares, lesser moods, and rage armor.
- For the typo-averse sorcerer, your summoning circles will no longer spell "perimeter" incorrectly. While having an extra "eye" is useful for you, the extra "i" seemed superfluous...
- More good news for the typo-averse: you will no longer have "1 kills remaining" when you're almost done with relevant Adventurer's Guild and Guardians of Sunfist tasks. And with that, I have fixed the bug that has bothered me the most for the last ten years!
- It is no longer possible to cast fire spirit (111) without a target in an indoors sanctuary. Previously, it was possible to trigger the rebound effect and damage both yourself and your group. It is still possible to cast fire spirit without a target in an outdoors sanctuary to send a signal up into the sky.
- Players should no longer get 0 RT climbs into and out of the pit in the Sanctum of Scales.
- Players should no longer receive damage when unable to move in the Sea of Fire (e.g. lying down and trying to go north).
- The sky in the Broken Lands, Shadow Valley, and the Rift has been removed (You can no longer see the moons in these areas).
- 1706 should now show as a buff and not a debuff. This change should be reflected in both the Wraythe FE windows as well as in SPELL ACTIVE.
- CMAN SWEEP, TACKLE, TRIP should now respect knock down immunity against certain creatures.
- CMAN SWEEP was also corrected to respect knock down immunity. Hunting Area Fixes, Changes, Updates
- The lightning strikes in Stormpeak should no longer strike while indoors.
- The damage from critical failure for lightning strikes in Stormpeak has been reduced
- Atoll Grotto Gets an Expansion - The four grotto rooms have each had an expansion added to it, putting 4 more rooms of similar terrain and climate in the atoll. This should help with your foraging and such.
- Massive troll kings and Sheruvian harbingers should be causing havoc in properly defending their respective areas of Darkstone Castle once more (in Prime).
- Rapid Fire (515) will no longer trigger a channel cast for casts of Tremors (909).
CMAN KNEEBASH
,SWEEP
,TACKLE
, andTRIP
will now partially work against targets that are immune to knock downs. Specifically, all other components of the attack will trigger except for the knock down.- Warcry has been converted to use staggered for various creatures, including Gigas Berserkers, Ithzir, and Grimswarm.
- An issue with some forms of crit padding has been resolved. In rare cases, crit padding was applying a penalty rather than a benefit. These cases were relatively rare, and they should now be resolved.
- All of the variable mana cost spells were reviewed to ensure they were draining the correct amount of mana. In addition, when applicable, they were updated to not drain mana for an invalid cast (object, dead creature). Thanks to everyone who submitted bug reports for affected spells.
- Armored Stealth has been updated to properly handle use while hidden or invisible. If a player is hidden or invisible, it will no longer message the room when adjusting one's own armor. It will also now pull a player out of hidden or invisible when adjusting the armor of others.
- The Adventurer's Guild will now offer 10% bonus rewards for bounties in Moonsedge and the Hive. This bonus was already active in the Hinterwilds and remains so. Characters under level 95 are not eligible for this bonus.
- Flaming Aura (1706) will now work properly when stolen via Spell Thieve.
- Gift of Oleani from the Gift of the Gods login boost has been updated to instantly migrate up to 60 training points instead of clearing up to 60 training points from a character's 30-day skill migration period.
- Holy Weapon (1625) will now use the single target cost (5 mana) for Web (118) when infusing, allowing for more charges.
- The HEALTH verb will now display enhancive information!
- This update has itself received an update. Health recovery will now be shown, and an issue with monster-bolded backgrounds should be fixed.
- Profession guildmasters are no longer required to CHECKIN to their guild. Guildmasters may still choose to CHECKIN if they wish to have their name continue to appear on the local guild plaque and have REGISTERed to have their name appear on the plaque. Non-guildmasters are still required to CHECKIN.
- An issue has been resolved where certain creatures could not be TARGETed, and behaved in other strange ways related to targeting. Vvrael warlocks were affected by this issue.
- Casting floating disk at items you are carrying (Other than Gems) should no longer cause them to turn to Ash.
- Players can now see summary views of their enhancive inventory information! For a rollup, see INVENTORY ENHANCIVE TOTALS. For a detailed rollup, see INVENTORY ENHANCIVE TOTALS DETAIL. SK and MK items will also be shown in these views!
- Dhe'nar Lexicon - In a similar vein to the other lexicons, the Dhe'nar Lexicon has been added to the wiki. This pulls together all words in Dhe'narsi released in official documentation.
- CMAN MUG should now always report the correct value of silvers mugged. There were certain situations that the wrong value was being reported. This should now be resolved.
- Doubled Experience Boosts should no longer be able to be activated while under the effect of an Enlightened buff (they were not doing anything).
- Spells will no longer remain prepped if a cast fails due to the Blinded debuff blocking the spell cast. (Spell: Blinded)
- Cheapshots that require a weapon but can be used unarmed after a certain skill threshold will no longer suddenly stop being usable unarmed when the player's guild rank reaches 60. Previously this would only resolve once the player reached mastery (rank 63) at the guild. (Cheapshot & Throatchop)
- The presence of Firewheel flares should now be a bit more obvious when loresinging or recalling an item with them.
- EXP output has been updated to include the expiration time on enlightened exp boosts.
- You currently are enlightened, earning +50% base experience until 4/18/2024 at 16:07 elven time standard.
- Players with 1720 active should no longer be prevented from casting "open" spells via magic item use. Examples of such spells include but are not limited to: 410, 912 and 1718.
- The wording on the REDEEM verb has been updated slightly as to not think you were in the wrong place vs the item being something not redeemable.
- Also, you can now redeem player targets, self targets, and creature targets.

- The messaging for rank 0-6 disintegrate crits to the right hand is no longer missing for the player receiving the crit.
- Fixed an issue where wizards could no longer CAST {SELF} to create a plain-jane ordinary "the Yusri disk". This functionality now also works for any non-Wizards who are able to cast the spell somehow (e.g. off a scroll) to suppress whatever their custom disk is currently set to.
- Casting the spell with no target (rather than targeting yourself) still functions to create either a fancy Wizard disk or a custom disk (if you have one set under custom 511). Creating a disk any other way (e.g. rubbing a black crystal) also produces a custom disk if you have one.
- Players can now see summary views of their enhancive inventory information! For a rollup, see INVENTORY ENHANCIVE TOTALS. For a detailed rollup, see INVENTORY ENHANCIVE TOTALS DETAIL. SK and MK items will also be shown in these views!
- The SPIN verb now has some self and player-targeted roleplay messaging.
- [Bugfix: Armored Casting Improvements] Using mana pulse/spellup in combination with Armored Casting now behaves as expected. Additionally, Armored Casting is now capped at incurring 30 seconds of RT (expected use should never reach this cap).
- [Bugfix: STOP TIME uses per day error message]Sometimes when using the command STOP TIME (spell 550) you would get the wrong error message when you were out of charges for the day. You will now correctly see you're out of charges before most other error messages
- [Bugfix: Unexpected Large Roundtime when Casting]A bug randomly causing casters to experience large (greater than 3 seconds) of hard roundtime unexpectedly has been resolved. Please feel free to tag me (Meraki) and include logs if you continue to encounter sudden large roundtimes when casting for no apparent reason, especially with no obvious way to reproduce the issue.
- [Minor Fix: Rogue Gambit Task Clarification]The instructions given by Rogue Guild trainers to describe rgambit stealth get repetitions were a bit unclear/misleading. These have now been updated to hopefully be clearer.
- [Minor Improvement: Collectibles and Gemshop Bulk Container Sales]Collectibles are no longer able to be sold via bulk container sales at the Gemshop. These rare items may still be individually sold but no longer are lumped together in bulk appraisals/sales, similar to how jewelry items are handled. Appraise will accurately reflect this status and indicate the presence of one or more pieces that they 'do not buy in container deals.'
- Active Spells will now properly refresh when an Armor Specialization is applied to others.
- Tangleweed (610) can now be set to OPEN cast via INCANT.
Resistance Bug Fix
An issue has been resolved where resistance would be incorrectly calculated in some rare situations. This issue was most prominent in cases where the player was affected by Wild Entropy, e.g. with Triton Wardens in the Atoll.
Keen Eye
Those with training in Keen Eye should no longer spot additional children to rescue before turning in the bounty.
Doubles on the Atoll Log Ride
Some players were experience double damage and messaging when JUMPing on the Atoll Log Ride. This issue should now be resolved.
504 (Slow) - Excessive Roundtime
An issue has been resolved where 504 (Slow) was applying an excessive amount of roundtime on initial application.
Buff Spells Update
The following changes have been made to self-cast buff spells which previously had a minimum duration of 20 minutes:
- Minimum duration has been increased to 2 hours. Spell ranks will continue to increase this duration at 60 seconds per rank.
- Dynamic mana costs have been removed. As an example, 307 may have previously cost 50 or more mana, depending on spell training, and will now always cost 7 mana.
- All characters will receive one free use of MANA SPELLUP per day, regardless of Mana Control training.
- 1209, 1212, 1612 - These spells should now have the expected 2 hour minimum duration.
- 1109 should now cost 9 mana in all cases. Previously the cost would scale with spell training.
Please note that 707 and 716 are still in progress, but updates for all other spells should be live now.
RT on Successful Corpse Evasion
This attack will no longer cause RT if the player successfully avoids the corpse:
A greater moor wight raises one decaying arm in a series of mystical gestures, chanting an almost inaudible stream of prayers.
A greater fetid corpse emerges from the stinking mire, moaning evilly!
[SMR result: -32 (Open d100: -26, Penalty: 22)]
The fetid corpse claws at your legs, attempting to drag you into the bog!
You skillfully avoid the corpse.
Roundtime: 4 sec.
RT on Construct Slam Attack
This attack will no longer cause RT if the player successfully avoids the maneuver:

A greater construct slams against you sending you reeling away.
Roundtime: 4 sec.
Kroderine Soul Magic Redux Bug Fix
During the implementation of Resilience, it was discovered that Kroderine Soul’s magic redux was erroneously applying to all sources of damage instead of just magic damage. This has now been corrected, but the impacted is lessened due to Resilience now covering those excluded sources of damage.
Profession Updates, Changes/Fixes
Bard
Some fixes and necessary changes have been put into the Bard service Luck system.
- To bring the service more in line with the rest, the Lucky item process will now be:
- CAST to check the difficulty on an item
- CHANNEL to perform the actual service on the item
- EVOKE to recharge a Lucky item
- CHANNEL to perform the actual service on the item
- CAST to check the difficulty on an item
- The COMBAT verb should no longer cause a Lucky item to react.
- The confusing " might crumble " message has been fine-tuned and should now stop showing on so many items.
- And last but likely the best, tier 6 "Fated Fortune" should now be kicked into gaining charges once again.
- A lucky item worn by the Bard who last made it will no longer lose charges for tiers 1 - 5.
Monk
- A Mystic Tattoo on the Monk who last upgraded it will no longer lose charges.
Ranger
- As previously announced at gamemaster-endnotes in Discord, Moonbeam (611) has been updated to use the new Spell Power calculation and its lore bonus progression has been revised, both which reduce the gap between minimally and maximally trained characters.
- Mass Calm (619) will now reveal targets from hiding.
Sorceror
Mana Disruption (702) has a new trick! Previously, if its dispel effect triggered but the target had no spells to dispel, the effect would be nullified. Now, in that same situation, the target will suffer a flare similar to what dispel flare items cause when they flare and find nothing to dispel.
The formula determining the chance for the dispel effect in Mana Disruption (based on mana control ranks) has not changed. (There have been no changes to dispel flares on items).
This update is part of the sorcerer review design proposal. We will roll out additional updates as we complete them. As always, everything in the document is subject to change.
- Good news for sorcerer animates! The sigil staff
rooted
effect should now be removed on death.
Disintegrate (705) now grants 2 bonus damage cycles for non-corporeal undead and any creature under any status conditions (up from the previous 1 bonus damage cycle). This is another change within the sorcerer review.
I also made some other minor updates while I was in there:
- The bonus damage cycles do the same amount of damage as before, on average, but there's a wider range of possible outcomes now.
- The "various bits melt away" message will no longer have a chance to show up after a creature is already declared dead, which isn't entirely wrong but never seemed to flow quite right to me, either.
- Bonus cycles will now apply to non-corporeal players (via symbol of transcendence).
Mana disruption (702) will now only strip positive effects with its dispel, with "positive" defined in same way as other dispel attacks. Thank you to the players who brought this to our attention.
Pestilence Dispel Bugfix - Triggering a dispel (such as from casting 702) will no longer remove your Pestilence (716) buff when the creature target is under the influence of Pestilence (716). The dispel had been inappropriately removing Pestilence from you instead of the creature you were targeting. This has been fixed.
Wizard
- Duplicate (918) has been updated to fizzle on all ineligible items. Previously, casting at certain items would destroy the item in a puff of smoke.
- Channeling 909 should no longer cause hard RT in the case where spell hindrance occurs.
Item Fixes and Updates:
- Laceable Clothing (The one you could lace sleeves, buttons, laces, ribbons, underskirts, and buckles to) have had their analyze updated.
- Laced Bodices (the ones the ribbonator can make ribbons for) have had their analyze updated and the ribbons will now only cut off the following articles: a, an, a set of, a pair of, some. This should allow the colors and everything to be preserved in the lacings.
- Ebon Gate Boquets have had their analyze updated to show that altering the PLUCKED item is allowed now.
- Slatted Runes a diviniation device by the Truefolk Mhoragian tribe has had an analyze added.
- Stufimals - A handful of creatures have been added to each creature group for this, including teadragon (reptile), ostrich (avian), vulpini (canine), lynx (feline), ferret (rodent), and panda (ursine). This list is not exhaustive. These are able to be altered by merchants as long as the noun is one of the options that you can review in analyze for the set group.
- Cobbling Plate Maker Box - UpdateYou can now LOAD your cobbling plate maker box with rubies to charge it. Charging will still be offered as a service by Lady Airisu. Just ask!
- Greater somnis should now correctly put the target to sleep prior to the strike landing.
- Paper Bugs - Whispering to them about SINGLE while they have foraged items in them no longer causes them to turn into the foraged item.
- Knitted Hairties - Are no longer considered functional.Properly twist to be worn in hair or on finger.
- Woven Circlets - When the hair style is the "plethora" hairstyle, the flowers, ribbons, or beads are now plural.Are no longer considered functional.
- Foraged Item Props - PnC adjustment, you can now use SNAP
- Best Foot Forward items should no longer expire early, must now be worn to activate, and should no longer display incorrect features on LOOK.
- Somnis armor should now function properly when flaring against an mstriking attacker. The mstriker will now fall asleep and stop mstriking.
- Nervestaves no longer generate garbled messaging when using their BERSERK ability to clear a condition that sends out its own messaging when cleared (like 706 Mind Jolt).
- Owners of Ethereal Bracers can now successfully PROD them to toggle activation of the ambients.
- Individual sausage links may now be sold in Market Stalls. Ropes of sausages are too complex to be sold, however.
Mourning Glories
- These have had their analyze updated and their point & click options.
- Some Boutonnieres were accidentally marked as functional. Analyzing them will resolve that issue. If you do stuff to make it functional, then it will revert.
Mandrakes
- Blood Bath - This should be resolved. It may happen one more time to folks, but I did something that will cause a wet mandrake to not turn into a bloody one.
- Duplicate Whistle is resolved
- There was a bug with mandrakes and anything that had a noun of flowers. This is now resolved.
Twisted Weapons
- There is no longer any roundtime incurred when using RAISE to activate/deactivate a Twisted Weapon's scintillating mode and flares, if applicable. However, you must also be out of any and all Roundtime and CastRT to activate/deactivate this mode.
- Twisted Weapons and Twisted Shields should now allow the use of lightening notes.
Bouquet Paper
- The issue of dyes not carrying over to the final bouquet are resolved.
- The issue of GAZE producing ribbon,color is resolved.
- The issue of WRAP sometimes producing -- well -- nothing -- is resolved.When another player looks at someone holding a bouquet (and that person has a neutral demeanor) the paper color properly displays now.
- WRAP was removed from the Point and Click Menu
- The other verbs now function correctly.
Platters
- When you stack glasses they will now display as a stack of glasses instead of a stack of glass.
- The request to update these for chopsticks and teabowls is, at this time, denied. This is an old script and would require a bit of an overhaul to handled it.
- Code displaying on GET is resolved (oops left my debug message in)
Ribbonator & LACING
- Ribbons - A bug was reported that "a pair of cream chiffon ribbons" didn't retain cream while being dyed isn't a bug. The way the corset's script handles it causes the article to be dropped.
- I'm looking at trying to do some updates to these but have to seek the correct owner permissions first. Hang tight.
Morphing Staves
- Bug with CLENCH and bracelets is resolved.
- Bug causing runestaff to default to left hand has been resolved.
Pocketwatch
- PONDER while worn with bodice or vest was given an odd output, that is resolved.
- Daylight Savings - Fixed
- Chain material properly pulls in bodice/vest worn description for chain.
- Some alarms were missing "to" after bows. This was in the customization field. The lunar moth pocketwatch was corrected, but there may be others since it was customized.
- Third person whisper not referencing the PERSON is resolved.
- Analyze will no longer strip alarm from pocketwatches.
- Analyze update to the following:
- TOUCH - when closed and in hand - erases alarm
- TOUCH - when open - interacts w. interior lid item
- PONDER - provides alarm reminder
- WHISPER - closed = fluff, open = sets alarm
- You can no longer put your reins or harness or any scripted item inside the pocketwatch, you can also now see what you put into the pocketwatch as it holds a single item.
- PONDER issues are resolved, TOUCH having a weird ending if worn is resolved.
- Analyze should display the pocketwatch worn w. VEST data correctly now.
- a cage-shaped filigree pewter pocketwatch was sold off the shelf with a typo in one of its fields. ANALYZING this will resolve the typo.
Life Aquatic Devices
- When you peer and get a failure but aren't near water, it will no longer tell you that you are looking into the water.
Gem-in-ator
- Please stop bugging gems that don't stack
- .Either they are weirdly built from the start or something is clearing a field on them.
- This is not a bug.
Vasculum
- Please stop bugging foraged items that don't stack.
- This is an issue with how the foraged item is built, something is different from the others and causes it to not stack.
- This is not a bug.
Much like the bag of holding, these items need to be identical to stack.
Dye-n-ator
- There was an issue with pinch creating bottomless dyes. This has been fixed.
- There was an issue with pinch setting the charges to a max of four instead of emptying all dyes. This has been fixed.
- Anyone caught in the 2nd bug likely didn't notice as their vial became permanent. Therefore, we aren't going to change anyone's dyes.
- There's a report that dyes going into the dy-n-ator weren't properly using their full color. This is a dye issue and not a dye-n-ator issue. Every single vial that was created was properly built. This should hopefully be addressed in the dye fixes.
Veythorn Souvenir Shop
- If a foraged item can be eaten, then there is a better than average chance you can't use it here.
- Any foraged item prop that is created as poisoned will be edible.
- Not all foraged item prop items will work at the Souvenir shop due to the type they are.
Iasha Weapons
- Iasha flares are now firing at the expected rate
- Iasha weapons are now compatible with the holy fire flares provided by tier 6 sanctification
- Iasha weapons are now compatible with 304's holy water flares
Somnis
- Somnis flares now affect undead, matching Symbol of Sleep in it's ability to knock undead unconscious.
- Somnis flares will now indicate through messaging that it was ineffective when triggering against sleep immune creatures.
Rage Armor
- Rage Armor should no longer trigger on missed bolt attacks. This would cause no AS to be gained and the cooldown to be triggered.
Mechanical Vambraces Several issues have been resolved with this script:
- MSTRIKE will now work with ranged weapons.
- FIRE with no target (or a dead target) will no longer eject the weapon to the player's hands.
- WEAPON FURY ATTACK will now work correctly, i.e. UCS will not be used. This also applies to other WEAPON skills where the ATTACK suffix is passed as an override.
- Previously some weapons with "long" names could not be used with cartridges. These weapons should now be compatible with cartridges.
Mechanical Vambraces
Several issues have been resolved with this script:
- MSTRIKE will now work with ranged weapons.
- FIRE with no target (or a dead target) will no longer eject the weapon to the player's hands.
- WEAPON FURY ATTACK will now work correctly, i.e. UCS will not be used. This also applies to other WEAPON skills where the ATTACK suffix is passed as an override.
- Previously some weapons with "long" names could not be used with cartridges. These weapons should now be compatible with cartridges.
Twin Weapons
- An issue has been resolved where an OTS twin weapon could be combined with a T1 twin weapon with GRIP, causing the OTS twin weapon to become unrecoverable without an ASSIST.
- If you were previously affected this issue and have not been able to recover your weapon, please ASSIST.
Two Weapon Displayers
- I broka the two weapon displaying baldrics. I fixa the two weapon displaying baldrics.
Eonak Arms
- Updates were rolled out to Eonak Arms. Previously, when attempting to GET items that had special behavior (such as rats or snow from snowbanks), the arms would have strange results. The arm should now properly tell you that it is unable to perform the action. Additionally, all actions with the arms will remove the user from stealth.
Curved Cuts
- The Curved Cuts Chakram has been fixed to properly accumulate charges, as well as to display its custom parry messaging.
Magical Pie Box
- The magical pie box (from the 2023 auction) should now understand parsing "MY" instead of trying to pie Myharl, especially when he's offline.
- The attunement has been reduced from 30 days to 24 hours.
- The long distance pie cooldown has been reduced to 20 minutes.
- You can now pie someone in the same room even if you have the long distance cooldown active.

- Rune Tattoos should now be better behaved when a spell is depleted (it will now say '0 of 2 charges' instead of '0 of 0 charges').
- Rune tattoos have been updated to be more intelligent when INVOKEd without a target. For example,

will now search your character's rune tattoos until a tattoo with 1212 is found, whereas previously this command would only succeed if the first rune tattoo contained 1212.INVOKE 1212 <target>

- Crafter's Tomes and Monocles had a couple of spacing and pronoun issues fixed.
Fancy Stance Flourish
- The Fancy Stance Flourish will now properly message the player when they're being moved guarded instead of defensive due to cast RT.
Knitting Needles & Yarn & Bowls & Creations
- Aneula, bamboo, chainsil, gossamer, and jute are now acceptable yarn materials for knitting needles.
- Knitted Snoods - Will no longer remove your hair quirk when being removed.
- Yarn Bowl - Permified Yarns should no longer poof.
Shadows of the Sparrow Fans
- Shadows of the Sparrow fans should no longer truncate whispers. Fan fans, please feel free to resume your normal level of loquaciousness.
Cat's Bell
- The Cat's Bell (health recovery world item) and Wizard's Bracelet (mana recovery world item) have both been updated to have some better messaging when moving through a portal on the 3rd person arrival messaging.
One Hundred Second Weapons
- One Hundred Seconds have been updated to have some messaging before an attack that has you fading in and out in front of your foe. This messaging will only work in you're visible.
- MSTRIKE will only display it at the first strike. It may look weird with some FEATs which I can clean up if it's too jarring.
- It also has movement messaging for you and your group if you're holding the weapon, depicting afterimages.
- It will weigh less than a pound on next use if it wasn't already (CLENCH, WAVE, or RAISE).
Rings of Lumnis Brooches
The Rings of Lumnis brooch chaos orb has been updated to provide more benefit when used in conjunction with other orbs. Previously it was possible for the chaos orb to reduce the active benefit received from the following orbs: planar, elemental, and order. On activation, the lesser of the two bonuses was being applied between chaos and the sibling orb. The greater of the two bonuses will now be applied going forward.
For example, imagine the player has activated a +500 planar orb, granting them +500 max field experience. Imagine that this player then activates a +200 chaos orb and a planar effect is triggered. Previously this player would see their +500 field experience reduced to around +200 to +220. Going forward, this reduction will not occur. Instead, the +500 field experience bonus will be extended by 30 minutes.
We hope that this makes the chaos orb play a little more nicely with its siblings. Please let me know if there are any questions or concerns!
Alcohol Still
- There were some rare instances where certain lumps of charcoal were not being accepted by alcohol-creating stills; this has been addressed and all charcoal should be okay to add now.
- Some food-type versions of corn on the cob were not being properly accepted as ingredients for corn-based alcohol recipes in the stills (moonshine, etc.); this has been fixed and you can now use those types of corn as ingredients as long as the noun is "corn".
- You can now analyze them if they have been added permanently to your private property/bungalow
Look at Me Jewelry
- There was an oddity with Look at Me Jewelry wrist-worn messaging where the 'cuff'/tight-fit messaging was showing up despite the ANALYZE indicating 'loose'; this has been fixed so the proper 'loose' messaging shows up.
Sausage Maker
- Warg shanks (meat category: canine) and hinterboar shanks (meat category: pork) can now be used in meat grinders to make sausages.
Mount Fixes
- Worn items that you have purchased for your mounts can now be changed on the fly by you so that they might be able to be worn by other mounts! Simply TURN the item to see if it is eligible for other mounts at its current worn location. Please note that in some cases, worn areas have different names even though they might be the same location (ie: foot vs paw). And, in other cases, it might seem like they're the same but they are not (ie: horn vs. horns). And finally, it's possible that not all items will be able to be morphed to a different mount shape.
- Blood loss from briar script should no longer cause players to dismount.
- An issue has been resolved that would cause mounts to be targetable by creatures.
Loft items
- Rugs now have analyze.
- Hay bale bedding CLEAN verb now works.
- The issue of the basin showing up instead of the window should now be resolved.
Laceable Ribbon/Clothing
- Space between "attachment words" and "ribbons" is now gone. Any out there with a leading space should see it cleaned up when adding a new one.
- This includes the ones made by the ribbonator
Foraged Item Props at Rumor Woods, Veythorne, Rings of Lumnis
- If you can't use a pair of snips on one of these flowers, then try eating it.
- If you can't eat it and it still won't work with the snips, then it is a bug.

Basketifier

- Today, after months of searching, I finally figured out why the basketifier can't be turned into a table in player shops. The answer was simple but completely vexes me. I've adjusted. Additionally, I resolved the issue of forgotten blankets and tables not returning to baskets and being dropped in RECOVER. I really hope folks don't take this as an open invite to leave their stuff laying around.
- Dwarves came after me with pitchforks and folks of the Folly were right on their heels. Good thing I figured out why these can't work in caves. You can now set up tables in Caves & Zul Logoth.

Smelter & I Dream of Geology
- PONDER and GLANCE now message the appropriate TURN/SPIN
- Whisper Smelter NOUN no longer asks you to whisper again despite accepting your first whisper
- All commands to make a back pendant are now updated to reflect back pendant. Note on the Back Pendant: Since the messaging for the metal is hard coded to the ADJECTIVE field, the SHORT of your back pendant will always be Article/metal/pendant. However, it will always have a LONG description that includes back before pendant.
- Those who have jeweler's pliers that add Look at Me Jewelry to items - a bug was fixed in which the pliers were eating long descriptions or shows of jewelry you applied the script to. This should no longer happen, though if you had the pliers eat a long description before this change you will have to ASSIST to hopefully get it restored to the item by a GM.
- In addition, there was a brief window where Look at Me Jewelry items with long descriptions that were made by the pliers looked funny when you wore them, but this has been resolved.
- Whispering the Noun will now work (Just use Whisper My Smelter (whatever the jewelry noun is).
- Was having an issue sometimes with PUSH, this is resolved.
- Bands will no longer erroneously have a worn-location of waist.
- Analyzing a ring or band will no longer return a blank response.
- Found the error creating an extra space between the gemstone description and the base item. This was an issue on armbands, bangle, chatelaines, chokers, crowns, necklaces, pectorals, and torcs.
- The bug that was causing Sea Critters & Insects to not properly display as a plural setting in jewelry has been resolved.

Specimen Board & Analyzed Bugs
- Unfortunately, when you analyze a paper bug before putting it into the specimen board you set it up to start transferring its design onto a piece of paper. That fundamentally changes it under the hood, which is why it won't stack anymore. This isn't a bug but a quirk that I can't really find a resolution for.
- Ornath Butterfly - There was an article issue with one of the bugs on Ornath, thats been fixed.
Mandrakes
- Eating a bloom will not let him wear blooms (instead of bloomes). This is also true of the bluebells.
Dwarven Stomping Boots & Garlic Amulets
- If you are in possession of dwarven stompin' boots or garlic amulets, these two older scripts have recently been updated. The ANALYZE should explain it all! More information on these two scripts will be upcoming as part of Ale Festival teasers.

Monster-headed Pauldrons
- Feeding gemstones to them will now correctly message the appropriate head type.

Ale Festival Drinking Horn
- Due to the nature of this item, it doesn't play nice with some of the really old drinking scripts (Demon Death Rum) and as such, they had to be restricted from use with the horn. We are hoping to find a better work around in the near future.
Dye-n-ator
- If you requested 1 dose, you were given more than 1 dose but only charged the 1 dose from your contraption. This has been fixed.
Ribbonator
- Any dye that had an article of "a small vial of" was not playing nice with the ribbonator. I've fixed that.
Magic Sling
- The missing "to" in the TOUCH messaging for elementalists has been fixed.
Halfling Slatted Runes
- The analyze was not correctly displaying the last slat drawn. It will going forward.
Xojium Robes have had their acceptable noun list expanded, and the GAZE verb messaging updated.
Rotflares
In the distant past, we shared that rotflares would flare 50% of the time at 136 ranks of necromancy lore. At some point, that threshold was changed to 105 ranks, but we never informed players of that. Until now. This threshold carries over to all of the recently-announced loreflares as well.
After a player pointed out vaporization was ignoring the SilenceDeath flag, GM Ivry and I (GM Azidaer) went looking for death messaging that ignored the SilenceDeath flag. Several systems have been updated: vaporization, disintegration in certain situations, death in the Arena/Abyss, and several others. If you continue to see any, after confirming it with someone in a separate location, please BUG OTHER it with "SilenceDeath Messaging" as the title. Thank you!
Player Written Book Update
There was an issue with player written books that did not allow for the reading of many of the titles. This was fixed this morning. If you submitted a bug in the past week, thank you! Thank you Thandiwe for the fast update.
Some Animalistic Totem bug fixes:
- Shifting Strike and Bestial Block will no longer activate on a non-Warding combat spell like Tangleweed.
- You can now feed your totem skins while you are wearing the totem, as well as while you are holding it. Hopefully this will make it easier for you to transfer skins, especially during hunting.
- The full spiritual essence description should now show up when using the "Animal Shadow" movement style when going through portals.
An overview of bugs that were fixed yesterday (Sunday):
- Various minor messaging bugs were fixed.Kestrel, goshawk, parrot, vulture, and daggerbeak were fixed to be allowed to absorb as spiritual essences. (NOTE: If you find any other familiar, animal companion, or huntable creature that does not allow POINT to work, please pop a message in the forum thread for the totems.)
- A spacing issue when adding feathers as decorations via PUSH was fixed.
- ADD was adjusted so that it's a bit more strict on the material it allows for accents and materials: materials must be 15 characters or less, as this gets put into the 15/15/15 of the totem.
- Familiars and Animal Companions cannot be used to gather spiritual essences unless their owner is the one POINTing the totem.
- Unicorn kittens with hooves were properly taught to purr instead of whinny, while cats were instructed to purr instead of roar.
A longstanding bug involving the LISTEN verb and sylvankind has been resolved. You will now appropriately indicate your attunement with the rhythm of life, when using LISTEN <self>, instead of being a mysterious sigh from the shadows.
Some more Animalistic Totem fixes:
- The totems should be less likely to make an inaccurate category hit on creatures when you POINT at one. If you have a spiritual essence that is making the wrong noise (such as a purring hound), please re-POINT the totem at the creature and it should be corrected.
- Canary, unicorn, and valravn have been fixed as being able to have spiritual essences.
- Cephalopods and sharks now have a proper movement verb for display in certain Movement Styles if you have this type of creature set as the active spiritual essence.
[OSA Room Directional Fixes]
Several rooms that were experiencing directional or looping errors in OSA have been fixed. Please continue to sail in safety and (relative) peace.
Whatever script is on the wiki as Dizwhig Cloak - Version 1 is now available as a Flourish via CONVERT FLOURISH. It also now has an analyze. The THROW and ROLL verbs won't work as a flourish for a few months.
There was a bug with stunning skulls where if you put them down, they attuned to you forever. This was unintended. It was just supposed to be until you picked it up again, so no one else could grab it in the mean time. This should be corrected. If you have a stunning skull stuck in a container that you cannot get out, you may need to ASSIST to have it unattuned.
Animalistic Totems with Shifting Strike will no longer accidentally trigger on 1101 (Heal) or 110 (Unbalance). If there are any other non-CS spells that are still triggering this effect somehow, please let me know in the associated Animalistic Totem forum thread.
Animalistic Totems have been properly taught that owls should screech or shriek instead of roar - they were incorrectly being categorized as "Large Felines". If you have an owl spiritual essence in your totem with an identity problem, you can re-POINT at the same owl again and it should fix itself. Alternatively you can ASSIST and have it fixed by a GM.
Marshmallows and sausages can now be toasted and roasted over the bonfire at the Locksmehr River, Encampment. ...also over the engine in your pet golem.
Minor Update -- Certain Scripted PortalsCertain scripted portals that had custom messaging did not message group members that they were moving (instead, they got the notice their leader had moved, as if they were staying in the room).
This has now been fixed, so if you have always wanted to get the nifty first person messaging when going through these fancy schmancy portals, you can!
NOTE: This is only one particular script that got updated, so it probably impacts very few portals, but I wanted you to know! (I'm looking at you, Ilyan Syndicate, with your fancy platform)
[Ethereal Weapon Tattoos] Owners of Ethereal Weapons can now deploy them even when the tattoo is covered.
Follow-up curse updates:
- Interacting with a cursed items will now generate a curse effect that lasts for the same amount of time as a curse cast directly on a player or creature.
- Fixed a bug involving the interaction between casting 715 with the CURSE verb and slippery mind. Specifically, the CURSEr was not losing mana and was not getting cast RT when slippery mind prevented the curse.
Alcohol Stills and Meat Grinders now have access to the verb 'WHISPER'. Hold an ingredient in your hand while WHISPERing to the still or grinder if you find an ingredient that does not currently work; this will send it in for review. This should now be listed in ANALYZE, as well, as an available OOC-only verb.

I couldn't figure out why the baskets weren't going to recovery. The lovely Ms. Tivvy figured it out. It is because the registration data was staying with the baskets and not transferring to the blanket/table. Ms. Vanah helped me puzzle out how to fix that and like magic they will now be recoverable.
Chatelaine Pliers - A fix went in that will make them now work. Not only that, but you can customize the pliers with the various bits that will also transfer over to your chatelaines.

I spent the last couple hours going through the backlog of Animalistic Totem bugs. Apologies again for the delay in getting these cleared up while I was deep in Ebon Gate prep!
Generally various lingering minor messaging issues and animal nouns not being accepted have been fixed. If you were having problems with getting a spiritual essence to be captured, please try again.
Note: If you notice anything still not working, especially in regards to custom familiar nouns or Animal Companions not being captured as spiritual essences, either post in the Animalistic Totem forum or BUGITEM your totem with the noun that is not working. I should be able to review these a lot faster now.

You should no longer be able to remove the items without PULLing the jewelry item. If you have jewelry items that are stuck in the in between state, please ASSIST to have your item's standard description restored.

Gem-in-ator
- Folks have been putting in bugs for gemstones that won't re-stack in their baskets. This isn't a bug per say. The issues is that at some point, I was asked to make sure that the "pretty long descriptions" on the gems could be kept. As such, I had to extend how they store the gems inside the container. Long story short, your gems go into the basket a little differently than they used to it. You can fix the stacking issue, by pulling all the gems out and putting them back in.
- Gems w. Custom LOOKs no longer show up funky in the 1st spot.
Hotel Storage Trunk - Open Message - Fixed the 3rd person messaging
I Dream of Geology - Rings that were engulfing will now properly pluralize the gem
Kindred Garb Vest - Button, Clasp, etc. will all now properly pluralize in the long. Make sure that you TURN and then TWIST it to fix it.

Misc Notes:
Bittermere Woods - received a few bug reports about foraged items where Forage Sense let you see the item but PnC wouldn't let you get the item. If you type it, you can get it. This is a common failing of the system. It see's 3 words and freaks out a little. Here's an example:
G>fairy's skirt mushroom (this is the PnC)As you carefully forage around you can find no hint of what you are looking for. You are not even positive where it may be found.

There was a bug with LEAN TOWARD and LEAN AWAY when invisible. It will no longer show you leaning toward or away from someone or something while you are invisible.
Rodnir's Tackle Box - Will no longer freak out if you forget to select an item for plucking. There is reminder messaging that tells you to select an item now.GAZE displays which item is selected now, previously only LOOK showed you.
Cosmetic Cases - Display doses and/or permanency
Chard - This foraged item was missing a field or two, I've fixed it.This means they will work where ever foraged items are meant to work (vasculums, cooking, etc)

The Enchanted Elven Doublet now properly shows Sylvankind as being restricted in its analyze.

Little Ticker
- A bug report was submitted where a butterfly being FED to the contraption didn't create the ticket noun in the LOOK of the created ticket. I've tested this with multiple butterflies, the butterfly in question, and several bugs but I'm not able to replicate it. Should this happen to anyone again, please bug the contraption, the ticket, and a copy of the FED item. It may help me track down where the disconnect is.
- Jeepers Creepers have been added to Little Ticker
Rumor Woods Winner/Loser Titles - These are now live for everyone.
World Fixes
- Pin Cushion Protea in Kraken's Fall has been updated so that there's only one variety of pin cushion. This should keep the system from stopping you to forage for the other types.
- Mermaid's-Scale Rose in Kraken's Fall - the 2nd one was changed to "Blue Mermaid".
- Bay Rose in the Landing can now be snipped with weaving tools.
- The Solhaven Bog had some terrain issues that noted it as "scrub" despite its room descriptions not matching that type of terrain. All scrub rooms have been updated to reflect bog/wetlands.
- Kraken's Fall Hibiscus - Periwinkle is now spelled correctly.
- Landing Bay Rose - You should be able to snip them now.
- Water Lily on the pool in Oleani's Garden in Solhaven is no longer hidden.
- Petting Zoo Gate in Solindango Zoo will now return you from wence you came.
- Solhaven New Foraged Item Props - You can now TURN and PLUCK them.
- You can now bundle a garland of sovyn cloves with each other as well as some sovyn clove. Standard bundling rules apply.
- Solhaven - Arissa Crafyien's features are fixed.
- The aelotoi toddler in Cysaegir no longer "brushes" when the ambient calls for "brushing" to be grammatically correct.
- The cylinder of Wraithmist cinnamon in Waste Not has been corrected to Wraithenmist cinnamon.
- The Cysaegir, Brook has been updated to reflect that the surrounding terrain is coniferous, not tropical.
- Some minor changes have been made to [Company Store, Jewelry Sales], and [Company Store, Dry Goods] to bring them in line with current QC standards.
- Hog's Pen and Icehouse Tavern - Some minor updates were made to properly fight with your fists (or else!) in these locations.
- Kraken's Fall Urchin Guides - The loveable directional scamps in Kraken's Fall are now set to correctly recognize our town cleric's updated location. Use the TEMPLE option from URCHIN PLACES.
- Stormbrow Gift Shop - is now more easily accessed, with a short glaes archway providing direct entry from the Stormbrow Gallery, Lobby (3013001). Usual passage through a pair of glass doors in the Gallery, Children's Room (3013015), is still available. This update is in both Prime and Shattered.
- An issue where players could not cast spells in the room now hosting our town cleric in Kraken's Fall (7118392) has been resolved.
