As the first full weekend of Olaesta approaches, the islanders of Sleeping Drake Harbor are bustling with preparations for this year's Bericsaba Market.  Once a simple gathering of farmers, poulterers, and artisans, the market has grown into an event that stirs rivalries, fosters camaraderie, and celebrates the finest skills of our people.  For one weekend, the harbor square will overflow with the scent of freshly grilled fish, the vibrant calls of merchants hawking their wares, and the spirited clamor of competition as islanders put their talents to the test.  This year, however, we look beyond our shores to seek new challengers, and there are none we would rather extend our invitation to than the finest purveyors of preserved delicacies.

It is with great anticipation that we formally invite you to The Pitched Pickle:  A Battle for the Ages, a contest dedicated to all things pickled.  From brined cucumbers to fermented fruits, from crisp, tart delicacies to spiced and aged curiosities, this battle is one of wit, technique, and tradition.  River's Rest, of course, is well known for its love of pickles, and none have earned more renown in the craft than the artisans of the Moomph & Zeyquph Society.  We cannot imagine a worthier opponent, and the islanders are eager to put their brining skills to the test against such lauded expertise.

With the Mana Storms receding, travel to Ornath has become far more reliable.  The Chronomages have sanctioned a transportation house in Sleeping Drake Harbor to aid in facilitating travel, ensuring an easier journey for those eager to attend.  Additionally, the harbor dock expansion is nearing completion, ready to receive those arriving by sea, while the stables should be finished in time for those who prefer to travel mounted. 
We hope you will honor us with your presence and bring forth the finest pickled offerings River's Rest has to boast.  Whether as competitors or as honored guests, we would be delighted to welcome you to the Isle of Ornath.
