A Parchment Nailed on Moot Hall's Door

Citizens of Landing,

The hearts of most Forest Gnomes do not beat with a great desire to sit on a city council, it yearns for the forest and fields outside of walls, not the bickering and politics that take root inside.
However, in a desire to create a safer city, for those inside and outside it was thought necessary to rise to the challenge of running for council.

Look now on these great faces that run for council;
Kayse the dutiful servant of Amos who wishes for prosperity through peace. Who pledges to often have meetings to listen to the voice of any who wishes to speak.
Vaemyr whose voice has been as steady as the pulse in your veins, who wishes to bring both strength of mind and strength of body to the landing.
Pookia, whose strange name hides a voice of the people that states, loudly, that she wishes to ensure the people are heard.
And Kinya, who brings wariness to the council and a most appreciated perspective.

There is far less between these candidates than in years past, none wish to subjugate or destroy, none seek to hash out ancient grievances on those within the town, none are twisted aelotoi abominations whose sanity must be questioned at every utterance.

ALL wish for Peace.
ALL wish to better communication with adventurer and workers alike.
ALL wish to improve on the future while learning from the mistakes of the past.
ALL wish to improve trade and create jobs and in doing so create opportunity for those who work inside the landing.

With these truths in mind, it is decided that the best course of action is to stand aside and allow new voices to step up, not torn apart in a campaign but united in common goals with one another.

All four of the candidates have pledged to go to Thadston, or whatever living mayor we have in that month, and ask for an increased presence around the Deadfall Forest. Grishom Stone waits like a snake ready to strike and it is important eyes are kept on him, we do not forget the horrors he brought not so many years ago. We do not forget the deaths on his hands. Make no mistake, those roots once again burrow under the landing and will once again need to be driven out and ignoring that evil is a distraction that can not happen any longer.

All four of the candidates have agreed to consider the formation of a council to propose a new contract between Moot Hall and the citizens of the landing. For many years some of the greatest evils in the Frontier came not from outside the walls, not from dank caves or sorcerous realms but from inside Moot Hall itself. Barnom Slim, Stephos De Archon, Walkar Wellington, Deylan and others….from the burning of merchant ships to the enslavement of citizens at the hands of Krolvin to the start of great wars that bled the city dry there have been too many dark deeds born of that building. A new day must come when the citizens do not fear Moot Hall but the Hall trembles before the citizens. This can only be done with rules put in place to ensure that evil, once exposed, does not linger but is burned quickly away…lest the rot spread and grow.

As always, such suggestions will be met by whatever mayor draws breath, but it is hoped reasonable words brought in peace will be well received.

To have these goals achieved, to let this new council step forward in peace without the chattering of conflict, and to keep divisions to a minimum, Dendum withdraws his application and extends congratulations to new councilors of landing. With a reminder that we will wish them well, but we will be watching.
