Join Lord Meaghrim Alsairath, collector of fine antiquities, as he docks his airship for two evenings of festivities in our first-ever Bazaar! Cast lots with fellow players for rare and unique treasures, none of which are exactly alike. Every attendee receives a token to place against a desired item, and after the winner is chosen all other tokens are returned to bet again. We are carrying enough lots for all guests, so no one will leave our great skyship empty-handed! The Bazaar will be open on July 17th and 18th from 4pm EST until approximately 9pm EST. MENTOR EVENTS Join fellow players and Mentors for this month's special events: July 10th - Fun and Games: Lexicon for Novice Citizens July 18th - Lecture: Learn to Imbed using the Magic Item Creation Spell July 24th - Fun and Games: Lexicon for Novice Citizens GameMasters also plan to host three forums in the month of July. Watch NEWS for more details as they become available. -------------------------------------------- 2. Announcements: ELANTHIAN TIMES ARTISTS NEEDED! Two positions, Managing Artist and Assisting Artist, are now available on the staff of the prestigious Elanthian Times newspaper as it begins to improve and expand its distribution. Join the best newspaper staff in the Lands, provide artwork for important and insightful articles, and work in the privacy of your own locking office. For more details, see in-gameNEWS 48. If you think you've got the right stuff, we'd love to see your work. Please send an email letter describing yourself and your availability, and include a sample of your work (one picture). Submissions should be made to Morandas@play.net. NEW SURVEYS RELEASED! We've finalized our web survey interface so you can let us know what you think without interrupting your gameplay. Currently we have a survey about our Premium subscription services. You don't have to have a premium Subscription to give us your opinions -- just head over to http://www.gemstone.net, log in with your account, and follow the links on the Feedback page to our Survey area. -------------------------------------------- 3. New Releases: NEW COMBAT INTERACTION! Thanks to the generous decree of god Kai, mortal races can now interact more with opponents and peers during combat! Stare down the sinister troll king, scowl, glare, scoff, and perform a host of other actions while in the throes of mighty conflict. Who knows, that troll king might just run the other way! CHECK THE TIME, VIEW THE CALENDAR! As Illistim scribes gather the final documentation from all over the continent, we are happy to announce that the results of their labors will soon be made accessible to the general public. Use the TIME and CALENDAR commands to view the date, time and major holidays and feastdays celebrated across the continent of Greater Elanith. Our Official Timeline will be released sometime next week - look for it on the front page of our official website! RANGER SPELLS '605' AND '615' SWAPPED The Ranger spell "Whisper Willow" (formerly spell 615) is being moved to the 605 slot in the Ranger Base Circle. The unimplemented "Tracking" spell will temporarily occupy the 615 slot where "Whisper Willow" is currently. INSTRUMENT SKILL CHANGE The formulas used for instrument skill advancement have been changed to now allow bards of any level to become masters of an instrument. This change will make it slightly harder for everyone when first starting out with an instrument but will be easier as you gain skill levels. Overall, it will be slightly easier for everyone to advance with the new formula. -------------------------------------------- 4. Premium News: MONTHLY PREMIUM FORUM Join fellow Four Winds members for this month's Premium Forum to discuss the New Profession and Pre-Titles system and Invasions. Voice your suggestions for the new title system and tell us what you'd like to see in future invasions. Watch PREMIUM 3 for more details on this and other upcoming forums. PREMIUM NEWS DEBUTS! With the enhanced NEWS command, we can now publish articles viewable only by premium subscribers. Announcements and notices for Premium events will be made via the NEWS, and the PREMIUM verb will contain more "permanent" information, such as FAQs, contest, and subscription information. We hope you'll find this arrangement more useful in getting Premium announcements more easily. News from Simutronics: HERCULES & XENA NEW PLAYER NIGHT! Join the Staff of Hercules and Xena: Alliance of Heroes this Thursday, July 1st, at the Fair of the New Heroics for New Player Night. Beginning at 8 PM EST, mentors and hosts will be on hand to answer your questions and lead tours through the Athenian Zoo, a hunting expedition through the catacombs and much more! This is an excellent opportunity to meet with fellow adventurers and explore the online world of Hercules and Xena.
