(Hold on to your turnip, Vivaldi.)
Every year in the spring, Grawood Farmstead has a spring festival to celebrate the coming growing season. They're a simple folk, a simple town of farmers and herders, but boy...do they know how to throw one heck of a shindig!
Come and join them for a hoedown, complete with dancing, games, merchants, town shops, locals, food, cows, and turnips.
Guaranteed to be a knee-slappin' good time, y'all.

Hiya, folks!
This May, coming to text-based RPG near you, is a free Spring festival.
So, get out your banjos, overalls, and straw hats and meet us down on the farm.
Last one there's a smelly rolton.

Subject: Are you Ready to Ride the Wagon to the Grawood Farm Festival?
Grawood's Annual Spring Farm Festival is just around the corner! The hitching post is almost ready to be set up in River's Rest, and from there, you'll be able to catch a wagon that will take you straight to Grawood's Farm area!
So if you haven't got any plans (or even if you have some already!), make sure to spend a little time with the friendly and humble folk of the farm next weekend! They invite you to come and enjoy yourself, meet the folks, visit the town shops, play a few games, and celebrate around the spring bonfire!
The Spring Grawood Farm Festival will be opening up on Friday, May 14th in the evening.
The wagons will be located in River's Rest and will run you back-and-forth from Grawood May 14th (evening) through 21st (evening). This is an RP event with some visiting merchants and a few items of interest, so we hope you'll stop by and find something that grabs your attention!

Subject: Welcome to Grawood Farmstead's Spring Festival!
Welcome, welcome, travelers from far and wide to our humble spring festival!
Though this is an annual affair for our small town, this is the first time we've opened our doors, so to say, to strangers. It's a very auspicious event for us, as we take time to give thanks to and honor Oleani for her growing touch, Phoen for his nourishing warmth, and the earth itself for its bounty.
There will also be another very special event occurring during the festival, which I will announce during our opening ceremony this evening at half past nine as the elves reckon time. Please feel free to join us at the bonfire for this event!
The shopkeepers of our town will have the doors to their shops open, and we've also managed to attract a few traveling merchants for the duration of the festival. We hope you enjoy our wares as well as theirs.
In addition to shopping, you all might also enjoy some of our games, like frog kissing, the dunking booth, and our maize maze! It's worthwhile to get lost in that maze. I hear some of the shop keepers and vendors have put out some things for you all!
Oh, and there will also be a parade!
So, come on down from wherever you are and join us for a good time down on the farm. We think you'll enjoy yourselves!
~ Trebrarnus, Mayor of Grawood Farmstead

Put on your overalls, pull out your plaid, it's time for a knee-slappin' good time down on the farm.
There will be a variety of games to occupy your time in addition to some shopping (this is an RP-oriented festival primarily). There will also be raffles of some nifty items and services like seed pouches, companion grooming, weapon sharpening, and stuff for you lockmastery people, in addition to a few other things.
We will have some merchants, but don't expect the EPIC and AWING amount of alterers and such as you might find somewhere like EG. But, we'll do our best to please the shoppers among you.
And, don't forget the poor lad and his brides... I hate to spill details here, though. I'll let you guys see that for yourselves.
Wagons will roll tonight at 9 pm est and the opening ceremony will be at 9:30 pm est. The festival will last from this evening, May 14th, through May 21st. The storyline won't be restricted to the weekend, so it'll stretch into the week, as will some of the raffles and services.
Hope to see you all there and hope you enjoy it.

Subject: Re: Enhancive Raffles / Oleani Roses Raffle (Prime's Turn!)
Since the items are all drawn now, for those of you who did win items and might be lost on some of the fluffy stuff they do, I figured I'd supply some info so that you aren't grappling (and so that I can give some credit to the original coders of said items, since I thieved some of the scripts!!):
Oleani Roses:
Tap, Rub, Smell, Kiss, Pinch, Close, Open, Gaze, Stare, Clench, Wave, Raise, Pull, and Push. Completely fluffy in nature. These can be altered so long as the noun remains the same, and so long as the adjective includes a color descriptor. A Jharra item.
Sheath:
Holds up to 4 of the hurlable weapons described on the raffle ticket, PUT them in the sheath to drop them in there, TAP to make them spring out. Wear and Remove have some fluffy messaging. Fully alterable in terms of aesthetics. A Khaladon item.
Cloak:
FLEAS. Very short loresong (read: 1 stanza), and a few different messaging results for the Touch verb. Fully alterable provided it remains "shabby" in nature. A Miriani item.
Circlet:
One of the Grawood Flowers circlets - if you are not wearing any temp hair items, then this shows up in your "features" when you're wearing it. Smell (a few varieties), Pull, Turn, and Wear. Fully alterable provided the noun is similar to circlet or garland, and it must remain floral in nature (there are some other things you can set, like the smell and stuff, with some merchant help.) A... me... item.
Hat:
Rub, Push, Close, Open, Pluck, Roll, Scratch, Nod, Nudge, Tickle, Turn, Toss -- note that some of these can be targetted at people or yourself, and some provide different messaging when worn/not worn (some don't have messaging when not worn.) This item is not, currently, alterable. A Modrian item.
Within that, I may have missed a thing or two, but ... more's better'n none!

Subject: Thank you, Thank yous.
I'm going to attempt to properly thank everyone that had a hand in this festival, but I can already tell you that anything that I could say wouldn't be enough. Everybody was completely awesome and absolutely came through 150% to make sure this festival not only got off the ground, but was as colorful as I ever imagined.
Thanks to Sirina and Kaikala for letting me take off with the crazy idea, and Kaikala especially for sprucing up scripts, rounding up help when I needed it, and generally making me feel like everything was going to be okay when I was sure it wasn't.
Also, Sirina for letting me write starfly lore and Xynwen for approving it (starflies FTW).
The QC team - Isten, Cirath, Kveta, Andraste, Flannihan, and Khshathra. You guys totally did the impossible and had amazing grace under pressure. I heart you guys.
Our main cast of characters - Itzel, Thandiwe, Zoet, and Jainna (and myself) as our groom and brides.
Izzea, Tamuz, Wyrom, Flannihan, Kenstrom, Kaikala, Aiza, Galene, Jaxxon, Nebhrail, Jainna, Thandiwe, Aiza, Kakaila, Nihfel, Xynwen, and Khshathra all worked as various NPCs and merchants. They also created all of the fantastic shops we had. Mad props to everyone.
And, a special thanks to Kaikala (and her team) and Tamuz for picking up extra slack when grounds needed painting and shops needed building, and Thandiwe for picking up a NPC role we needed filled. I really can't thank you guys enough.
Really, everybody was great. If I've left anybody out, it's not intentional. There were just so many people that contributed to this festival. You all have my gratitude.
And to the players, you guys were great, too. It was a real hoot to see you interacting with the environment (that poor cow by the distillery was SO abused) and with the storyline. We had some scheduling conflicts that caused some hiccups and some improvisation, but you guys seemed to roll with it and enjoy it all the same.
The goal was for this to be a festival that wasn't heavy-hearted or serious - just a place to cut loose, kick a chicken, and have fun. I really hope you guys did.
