For people who would like more info on the KnightWear family of scripts!:
KnightWear/Knight Wear, which are sold in The Knight Way shop, is essentially a set of interactive items, along the lines of Ghule and AdventureWear but themed for knights/"the joust". Per the ANALYZE: "KnightWear items have messaging that sometimes incorporate other worn Knightwear items and specific types of footwear into the messaging. Some messaging also differs when mounted on a Rumor Woods-style horse." Also: "Note: you can only wear 1 per "type" of KnightWear at a time (i.e. you can wear 1 KnightWear belt and 1 Knightwear surcoat at the same time, but you cannot wear 2 Knightwear belts at the same time)."
Tiers
- OTS (Tier 1): WEAR, REMOVE, RUB, and TAP
- Tier 2 adds: NUDGE, TURN, PUSH, and ATTEND.
Item types (for the below, there is some other alteration info that's readily available in ANALYZE per item type):
- helm/helmet (cannot have anything indicating it doesn't have a visor)
- spurs (must stay 'spurs')
- surcoat
- belt (must stay 'belt')
- gauntlets (must stay 'gauntlets')
- armor
Flavors
There are 3 'flavors'/sets of characteristics of KnightWear: Lance (traditional knight), Gaston (self-important/arrogant knight), Monty (clumsy knight). You can ANALYZE your item to see which flavor it is (or if purchasing fresh, the rooms in The Knight Way are named for which flavor is sold in them). Messaging for the flavors is similar at its base, sometimes with only slight differences, sometimes with some more pronounced differences, for all of the verbs EXCEPT RUB (which is the same for all flavors). The messaging that will be used is dependent on the item you're directly acting on -- it uses that item's flavor and tier, even if other Knightwear items of other flavors/tiers are mentioned in it. i.e. you can mix and match flavors and tiers to get the combo that works best for you.
Modifications and Script-Adding:
- There is "a tall beak-nosed seamstress" in The Knight Way shop that offers a few alternate surcoat designs. This only alters the design/pattern on the surcoat. ASK her about DESIGN or ORDER for more info.
- There is "a youthful black-haired blacksmith" in the Rumor Woods forge that offers a few options for embellishing your spurs. This only alters the ornamentation/rowels on the spurs. ASK him about DESIGN or ORDER for more info.
- There is "a paunchy balding apprentice" in the Rumor Woods forge that will add Tier 1 KnightWear helm actions to currently unscripted helms (if the helms are properly built). ASK him about ORDER for more info.
- There is "a petite copper-haired blacksmith" in the Rumor Woods forge that will add Tier 1 Knightwear armor actions to currently unscripted armor (if the armor is properly built). She can also add Tier 1 Knightwear gauntlets actions to currently unscripted UAC gloves that have the noun 'gauntlets'. ASK her about ORDER for more info.
There are a lot of messaging combinations. A LOT. I've picked out a few different random combos to paste below so that you get a feel for the flavors and how interaction works:

Monty flavor
WEAR (some of the Monty verbs, like this one, have varied messages that are randomly selected each time):
- Briefly loosening your belt, you pull your scarlet surcoat over your head, then arrange it to fall in as smooth a drape as you can manage against your leather. At this juncture, you realize that the surcoat is inside-out! You hastily remove it, set it to rights, and re-don it.
- Briefly loosening her belt, Kaikala pulls her scarlet surcoat over her head, then arranges it to fall in a haphazard drape against her leather. Kaikala seems to suddenly realize that her surcoat is inside-out! She hastily removes it, sets it to rights, and re-dons it.
- Briefly loosening your belt, you pull your scarlet surcoat over your head, then arrange it to fall in as smooth a drape as you can manage against your leather. At this juncture, you realize that the surcoat is backwards! You hastily shove it up around your neck, turn the front face-forward, and pull it back down.

- Briefly loosening her belt, Kaikala pulls her scarlet surcoat over her head, then arranges it to fall in a haphazard drape against her leather that does a barely adequate job of displaying its interlocking serpent and phoenix design.
TAP (this one also has a random factor, like you may actually trip. And sometimes you won't stumble at all! Just listing one here:)
- You sharply jab your thumb against your chest, clearly making a pointed gesture at the interlocking serpent and phoenix design on your scarlet surcoat as you dance a quick little jig. Your feet get tangled up, and you lean one way, then the other, but miraculously manage not to fall. You complete your jig and bow with a flourish.

Her feet get tangled up, and she leans one way, then the other, but miraculously manages not to fall. She completes her jig and bows with a flourish.
PUSH
- You puff your chest out, proudly displaying the scarlet surcoat that covers your full leather. Too late realizing that your surcoat is completely twisted around, you quickly set it to rights so that its interlocking serpent and phoenix design is visible as your gaze flickers to and fro. Hopefully no one noticed that little mishap!

As if suddenly realizing that her surcoat is completely twisted around, she quickly sets it to rights, its interlocking serpent and phoenix design now visible, her hopeful, pale blue gaze flickering to and fro. A very, very few items/verbs have some messaging that outputs differently while mounted on a horse. For example, if you TAP your KnightWear spurs while mounted on a horse, you'll get this:

>>How does the armor script behave if there is no helmet worn? I assume all helmets must be functional (i.e, armor accessories), which my bard cannot wear.
If you're not wearing a helmet, then the KnightWear armor won't mention a helmet in its messaging output (and will be worded to make sense without that mention). Helmets for KnightWear are pieces of armor, so definitely they'll be functional items! (If I missed the mark in terms of what you were asking, just clarify the question a bit more?)
>>Does a script referencing on missing KnightWear piece not use the verb at all, or is it omitted from the output?
It's just omitted from the output. So like if you didn't have KnightWear spurs on in that messaging example, you'd get something along the lines of (and I'm not copying straight from the script, but the output should be on par with what I'm typing here): "Forcing your attention to stay focused, you give yourself a once-over, make slight adjustments to your mithglin barrel helm and the straps and buckles on your full leather, smooth out your surcoat, then pull in a meditative, calming breath."
There's one exception to that that I should mention. One or two of the messages will include non-Knightwear footwear mention if they have one of a few specific nouns and are footworn (i.e. instead of stomping with your "feet" in one of the messages for armor, you'll stomp with your "boots" if you're wearing boots of certain underlying builds). That's just a random tidbit.
>>Another thing , just question about possible further/future KnightWear options,, the ability to "KnightWearify" a surcoat not purchased there?
Will look at it as a consideration for the next run -- but I also can't promise it'll be something we do.
Hopefully I did not miss any questions!

Subject: Knight Wear: But Wait, There's More?!
For my Knight Wear people! We present...
... more verbs, huzzah! (And for anyone who's seen The Great, yes, I totally smashed a glass while huzzahing ;) ).
Verb Set 3 is the new set -- RAISE, SPIN, FIDGET, and GRIN. This is an add-on tier rather than vertical tiering. Lil' bit of the new messaging is pasted at the bottom of this post.
For those not familiar with Knight Wear: these are an interactive set of items with a jousting-esque theme behind them. There are 6 different item types -- helm, spurs, surcoat, belt, gauntlets, and armor! There are 3 different flavors of messaging -- Lance (traditional), Gaston (confident, arrogant, or a bit of a peacock -- depending on your POV), and Monty (clumsy-ish)! The base items are all sold in The Knight Way, with a section of the shop dedicated to each flavor, and you can certainly mix and match which flavors you wear together.
Both Verb Set 2 and Verb Set 3 are available to add on to Knight Wear items via certificates in the north-most room of The Knight Way. Surcoat design variations are available in that same area from the seamstress. Spur embellishment variations are available in the Rumor Woods forge area.
As a reminder, aside from attaining base Knight Wear items from The Knight Way, the forge area of Rumor Woods still includes blacksmiths who can add Knight Wear helm/armor/gauntlet ability to your unscripted helm/armor/gauntlets. The blacksmiths require that the items are built a certain way in order to be eligible for this (for example, armor must be actual armor profiles; gauntlets need to be hand-worn items built as plain or UAC gloves that already have the noun "gauntlets", etc.) -- if you run into any items that they refuse to work on but don't giving a clear indication of why, you can BUG or ask here.
In addition to those offerings from the blacksmiths, you can also now add the Knight Wear spurs ability onto unscripted, pinworn items that already have the noun "spurs".
Massive thank yous to GMs Isten, Lanadriel, and Auchand for their QC work on all of these elements!
Happy jousting!
