Log

You cheerfully exclaim, "Good eve there!"

You exclaim, "Feel free to help yourself to refreshments!"

You say, "And if you have any questions or suggestions for the town, feel free to get them in now."

You say, "I'll save the answers for later in the night when everyone's here, of course, but still."

You musingly say, "I guess the Dreavening might delay some people."

Elbromo says, "Just follow yer nose."

You say, "Ah! Looks like the Gryphons have arrived."

You exclaim, "Good eve to all!"

You say, "And welcome, and help yourself to refreshments."

Cryheart says, "Hello Mayor Leafiara."

Roelaren says, "And to ye as well ma'dam Mayor."

Bernadette softly says, "Good eve to ye Ms Mayer."

You whisper aloud, "I snuck out the Twilight cart again."

Speaking to you, Goldstr says, "Evenin Madam Mayor."

Cryheart says, "Helga may not like the competition."

Cryheart says, "Competition."

Roelaren says, "Well if ye cant stand the competition get out of the kitchen."

Bernadette softly says, "Even the guard be heres."

Speaking to Helga, you offer, "Well, up to you if you'd like it gone..."

Cryheart asks, "We meeting in the pub room, mayor?"

Speaking to a town guard, Goldstr says, "Best git back to da gate Sleepy."

You say, "Right here, so people can order drinks if they want."

Elbromo says, "Needs his fortifications."

You say, "I'm guessing the main concern on everyone's mind right now is Grishom and Thrayzar, but we'll be open to discussing most anything tonight."

Speaking to a town guard, Balantine says, "Keep drinkin' that grog then."

Cryheart says, "Quin, ye spend most of your time here when nae on guard duty."

Guarrin curiously asks, "Is the expectation that we will come to a course of action during these meetings?"

Elbromo says, "Guardin da stew."

Speaking to Guarrin, you admit, "I don't have any particular expectation. It all depends on what the people want."

Bernadette softly asks, "Did they ever sell the stew here?"

Lyrna says, "Hello all."

You say, "We have to work together to accomplish things, after all."

Speaking fondly to Lyrna, you exclaim, "Good evening love!"

You say, "And, anyway, it would be hard to come to a course of action since not everyone can make every meeting."

Cryheart says, "Mayor, I hae a suggestion regarding town council meetings."

You say, "I'm not sure either of the captains will make it tonight, and they're two of the most important for this Thrayzar matter..."

Speaking curiously to Cryheart, you ask, "Yes?"

Elbromo says, "Sorry."

Cryheart asks, "Regarding the town council meetings...should we nae hae a representative from each group, mercantile, or organization participating?"

Speaking to Cryheart, you ask, "Do you mean... the meetings like this one, or the actual town council?"

Cryheart says, "Well..I am thinking of something like a board meeting."

You say, "There are only four town council seats, so--"

Cryheart says, "To discuss the needs of the town."

You say, "Oh, I think I see what you're saying."

You say, "Yes, I'd thought about something like that--having a person from each organization."

You say, "Coordinating everyone on the same schedule seems... really difficult, at best."

You say, "But I could put out a call for it."

Cryheart says, "So the town council becomes a true representation of the town..rather than just having politicians."

Cryheart says, "Thank ye."

You ask, "Oh, you do mean the actual town council? So expanding it beyond four seats?"

Cryheart says, "No."

You say, "Sorry, just trying to clarify fully."

Cryheart says, "Just a board meeting where we present our concerns and ideas to the town council."

Cryheart says, "If that works."

You say, "Ahhh, I see... so bringing the people closer to the town council."

Cryheart says, "Aye."

You say, "They have been very distant in the past, true."

Cryheart says, "Amen to that."

Speaking to Cryheart, you say, "I like it. Let me note that down and see what we can make happen."

Cryheart says, "Thank ye."

Speaking appreciatively to Cryheart, you say, "And thank you. A great suggestion."

(Leafiara jots down several lines in her jade leather notebook.)

The town guard smiles at you and asks, "Can I buy you a drink, young lady?"

Speaking raspily to you, Sonnillon says, "The guard is coming on to you mayor."

You admit, "I might need a week or so to draft up that proposal. I do have a bit of a backlog."

Cryheart says, "Understood mayor."

Lyrna asks, "Already?"

You pleasedly say, "But, I've also already submitted five other proposals--the shorter ones."

Speaking to Lyrna, you say, "Yep! I told everyone I'd at least hear them out and present their ideas, so I'm doing it."

Speaking to Lyrna, you explain, "Some of the proposals are easier to draft up, and others... take more time."

Lyrna says, "Good for you, love."

Speaking curiously to you, Guarrin asks, "What were the other proposals?"

You admit, "The quickest one was the person who wanted a trash bin in the square."

Nicolas asks, "To replace the bench?"

Speaking to Guarrin, you say, "There was a plan about bringing back the bulletin board, a plan for taming and training roltons..."

Speaking to Kymin, Roelaren says, "Hello son good to see ye."

Kymin deeply says, "You to mom."

You uncertainly say, "Mm, what were the other two? I'm losing thack of what I've submitted yet and what's still in progres."

(Leafiara flips briefly through her jade leather notebook.)

Speaking to you, Guarrin repeats, "Taming and training roltons."

Speaking to you, Balantine says, "Sounds like ye may hae to delegate more."

Speaking earnestly to Guarrin, you say, "I appreciate our citizens' creativity."

Speaking raspily to Guarrin, Sonnillon asks, "As a first line of defense for invasions?"

Guarrin mutters, "Of course."

Speaking to Guarrin, Goldstr says, "When I was a young lad I hunted roltons an brought em here to helga fer her stew."

You say, "Ah, the others were an update to the outdated sign outside of North Gate, and a display case of material from past elections to honor our candidates."

Speaking to Goldstr, Guarrin admits, "That's about what they're good for."

The town guard smiles at you and asks, "Can I buy you a drink, young lady?"

You say, "Some upcoming proposals are a new museum display, tonight's proposal from Sir Cryheart about town council meetings, an idea about perhaps rehabilitating bandits..."

You vaguely say, "Anyway, there are a number of them."

You exclaim, "And we're well past time to start, so let's get to that--officially!"

Speaking to a town guard, Krampton says, "Easy sleepy.. she's your bosses bosses boss."

Elbromo says, "Bandit rehab."

Lyrna says, "Keep you out of too much trouble for at least a few hours."

Speaking to Elbromo, Balantine says, "They are called Rooks."

Speaking to Elbromo, Goldstr says, "I rehabs em wid me fists."

Speaking to Elbromo, you say, "From Elphieya, who's been concerned that we're too much about killing as the first solution."

You admit, "I prefer the simplicity of just killing the bandits, myself, but..."

You exclaim, "In any case, welcome, everyone, to our first weekly meeting!"

Elbromo says, "We'll need to make some changes in employment opportunities."

You say, "These are about hearing out your questions, suggestions, concerns, and ideas for the Landing."

Lyrna asks, "What kind of changes to employment opportunities?"

You say, "Sometimes you might have things you want to ask about, and other times you might just want to take action or propose something new..."

You say, "But either way, this is a good spot to talk and discuss with a crowd of diverse opinions."

Lyrna says, "Diverse is a good word for it."

You say, "Some possible topics tonight include what to do about Thrayzar, or how to find the limb stealing assassin--but, really, it's up to you where we go tonight."

Elbromo says, "The biggies."

Elbromo says, "Thayzar."

Cryheart says, "Ooof."

You say, "And no, I have no idea how long the manafires will take to finish their work undoing the blight."

Elbromo says, "Assasins."

Cryheart says, "Thank ye Wolf."

You say, "There's also the upcoming trial of Pylasar if anyone wants to discuss that."

Wolfloner darkly asks, "Is there still an imperial on the town council Leafiara?"

Lyrna says, "Unfortunately, I feel like most of my questions about Pylasar's trial are ones we need someone official related to the trial to answer."

Speaking to Wolfloner, you say, "Yeah, Cordarius."

You say, "Many people are understandably not especially happy with his presence."

Speaking darkly to you, Wolfloner says, "You should remove him."

Speaking to you, Goldstr says, "I will speak at da trial on Pylasar's behalf meself."

Lyrna says, "Like what the actual charges are and potential consequences are."

Speaking to Wolfloner, you say, "I would if I could, but all I have the power to do is fill empty seats."

Speaking to Goldstr, Lyrna says, "I will, potentially, as well."

Speaking darkly to you, Wolfloner asks, "Could you not empty the seat?"

Speaking vaguely to Wolfloner, you say, "I do think we need to--make sure that Cordarius is well aware he has to honestly represent us and not just the Empire."

Speaking to Wolfloner, you say, "I think I know what you're suggesting, but it might be more trouble than it's worth."

Speaking darkly to you, Wolfloner asks, "Can you ban him from the town?"

Speaking to Goldstr, you say, "I'll probably speak on Pylasar's behalf too."

Speaking musingly to Wolfloner, you say, "Hm. Interesting question, but I think that's up to the constabulary."

You say, "...has anyone here been banished before? I don't believe that's a mayoral power."

Speaking darkly to you, Wolfloner asks, "Did the former mayor appoint him?"

You say, "I can look into it, though."

Speaking deeply to you, Roelon says, "Bannin' this person could just give reason for some sort of retaliation of some sort."

Lyrna says, "Not from here."

Speaking to Wolfloner, you say, "No... Earl Jovery appointed him."

Lyrna says, "And my trial wasn't exactly... all that... impartial."

Balantine says, "Walkar sentenced a few folks to the stocks, and more than a few to the gallows, if my memory serves."

Speaking darkly to you, Wolfloner asks, "And Jovery has the right to do that?"

Cryheart says, "Barnom Slim did hang or tar/feathered some folks as I recall."

Speaking raspily to you, Sonnillon exclaims, "We need to bring back the gallows!"

Speaking to Wolfloner, you say, "I don't think he did. Pushback might invite a war, though."

Lyrna says, "We really don't."

Speaking to Cryheart, Asben says, "The tar hurts."

Cryheart says, "I can imagine."

Elbromo says, "Jus the opposite.. need to prohibit capital punishment."

Sonnillon raspily says, "On that note im moving."

Speaking darkly to you, Wolfloner asks, "What is his name, Cordarius?"

Lyrna says, "That was on."

Speaking to Cryheart, you ask, "Who is our nearest point of contact if we wanted to discuss our... status as a 'protectorate' with Earl Jovery? Make a push for independence?"

Lyrna says, "Odd."

Speaking to Wolfloner, you say, "That's the one, yes, a Magister of the Hall."

Speaking to you, Goldstr says, "Jess a thought on dealing wid Stone. Thrayzar DO be one a ours."

Speaking darkly to you, Wolfloner says, "Tell him his services are no longer needed."

Cryheart says, "My Order."

You surprisedly say, "Oh. Well, that makes things easier, then."

Cryheart says, "But, if you want to talk about politics.. that is another matter."

Cryheart says, "We cannae inform his Excellency that."

Speaking to Goldstr, you ask, "I do agree, but--what are you implying?"

Speaking to you, Roelaren says, "Dont trust Stone."

Speaking darkly to you, Wolfloner says, "It is too dangerous for him here. Magisters have died here."

Speaking deeply to a town guard, Kymin says, "Hi Buster Brown."

You say, "I don't trust Stone. The problem right now is that Stone's going to come for Thrayzar if we find him."

Speaking to you, Asben asks, "Is there any way we can protect him? Somewhere we could hide him?"

You say, "We could leave him out there in the wilderness, but that too seems a bit... wrong."

Roelon deeply says, "Ah never trusted that man..or thing."

You say, "Which means, yes, what Asben said is the next possibility."

Speaking to you, Goldstr says, "May be best if we nae finds him."

Speaking to a town guard, Lyrna asks, "Shouldn't you be working?"

Speaking to Goldstr, you say, "It might be."

Speaking to Goldstr, you say, "Consider this, though..."

You say, "Sooner or later, someone's going to find Thrayzar. If it's not us, it could be someone else."

Kymin deeply says, "Later mom."

You say, "That someone else might kill him."

Roelaren says, "Take care love."

Lyrna says, "It's probably better for him that we find him, although it may depend on who of us does."

You admit, "It's really not an easy questiono, what to do here."

You say, "I don't think the captains will stop looking for Thrayzar, no matter what."

You say, "So it seems like finding him is inevitable, at least to me."

Asben says, "Perhaps we should look as well."

Cryheart says, "With regards to his Excellency, Earl Jovery, he is our liege for some of us and Baron Malwind is liege of other members of our Order."

Roelaren says, "Maybe find him so we can protect him from stone, Idont feel that Stone has his best interest at heart."

You say, "And right now my plan is just to assume we are indeed going to find him."

Speaking to Cryheart, you say, "Ahhh, understood."

Lyrna says, "Another issue is how soon Stone will come wiht his 'offer' once he IS found."

Lyrna says, "If we have time to explain what's going on, that's one thing. If he's found and Stone shows up 5 minutes later..."

You say, "Ahh, here's Faerinn. After we're done with the current topic, he had a theory on the limb assassin that I'd like to cover too."

Roelaren says, "I would not let stone come near him."

Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Sorry, I got held up at the Wayside Inn, but seems there are a few more pressing matters."

Lyrna says, "We may not be able to prevent that."

Goldstr exclaims, "Stone will keep his promise. In HIS way!"

Roelon deeply asks, "Ye would trust stone, to honor whatever he offers?"

You say, "Assuming we do find Thrayzar, the question is what Asben said: if we can hide him somehow."

Speaking to Cryheart, Balantine says, "Though I took an oath to Baron Malwind, I consider ye my liege Lord, at least until I make Banneret."

Faerinn says, "Sure, is convenient for Stone that all the people he keeps asking for lack the agency to answer for themselves."

Lyrna says, "And trials for people in absentia."

You say, "Stone said he isn't able to find Thrayzar, but Stormyrain, Goblyn, Hap, and others believe that's a false claim--he's a seer and could find him."

Cryheart says, "I am thinking, that if Grishom Stone cannae locate Thrayzar...then perhaps we can find out how we could exploit that weakness."

Speaking to Lyrna, Faerinn says, "Trials in absentia are thought exercises or circuses."

Speaking darkly to you, Wolfloner says, "It is plain the Landing is under the boot of the empire and it's residents seem content with that. If that changes come talk to me."

Speaking to you, Goldstr says, "Kin we iplore da Hall to delay da trial till Pylasar kin be der."

Speaking to Lyrna, Faerinn says, "But hardly even a mock trial."

Wolfloner darkly says, "I bid you all a fair evening."

Lyrna says, "Sometimes they are even when you're there."

Goldstr says, "Implore."

Roelon deeply says, "Unless Thrayzar is somewhere shielded from such magic."

Speaking to Wolfloner, you say, "We do have to work on fixing it, I agree with that much."

Balantine says, "Thrayzar hae skills."

Wolfloner darkly says, "Grand evening to all of you."

Roelon deeply says, "If ah recall, he puts mine to shame."

Speaking to Roelon, you say, "Ahh, so if that was the case, we'd find Thrayzar and *then* Stone would be able to find him.."

Lyrna says, "We know there are spells that can block scrying, but he isn't magically inclined."

The town guard says, "Hey Leafiara, how about buying a round for the house? You look like you can afford it." The guard winks.

Lyrna asks, "Who might have a vested interest in keeping him from being found?"

Speaking deeply to you, Roelon says, "Is what ah am thinking. Hae us to his dirty work."

Speaking wryly to a town guard, you say, "Drinks on the cart."

Speaking to Lyrna, Goldstr says, "I tinks be most of us wid Stone wantin him."

You slowly say, "Maybe next time we'll do this in a different room."

You say, "Anyway..."

Cryheart says, "Quin is very talkative when he has had too many drinks."

Elbromo says, "Think its as important to scry Stones intentions as Thrayzars whereabouts."

Goldstr says, "Used to be a gamin room in da back."

You say, "Puptilian and his animal friends are on the trail of Thrayzar, at least, so we'll have to be ready to act quick if they find him."

You say, "Like Lyrna said, there's no telling whether we have days or minutes after finding him, before Stone shows up."

Lyrna says, "Or the dining room."

Cryheart says, "It makes me wonder why someone as powerful as Stone cannae find Thrayzar."

Speaking to you, Asben asks, "Where is the most secure place that you have access to?"

Speaking to you, Asben asks, "The jail perhaps?"

Speaking to Asben, you say, "I don't think keeping him anywhere near town is a good idea, honestly."

Lyrna asks, "Perhaps a better question is, who would have the power to prevent him from being scryed by Stone and the desire to do so?"

Balantine says, "If Stone can nae find him, he may nae e'en be in this realm....or valence."

You say, "One possibility might be to contact the erithians who took Disean away, and send Thrayzar off with them too..."

Speaking to Cryheart, Faerinn says, "Because its not about Stone finding him. Its about making a ruckus here while Stone does his actual goal."

Speaking to Balantine, you say, "Great point."

Speaking to you, Goldstr says, "Da cabin by da Flynth River forge be out a da way."

Elbromo says, "The odds we bein manipulated by Stone are overwhelming."

Balantine says, "Or time."

Cryheart says, "My point is why cannae he locate him..perhaps to deceive us...or some magics is preventing him."

Goldstr says, "Or da Ranger's cabin near da northern caravansary."

Speaking to Elbromo, you say, "Pup thinks it's impossible to outmaneuver or outwit him. He might be right, but it won't stop us from trying, at least."

Lyrna says, "The other thing we could try is ... decoys? If there is a way to do that magically. Provide LOTS of possibility for where he could be, once he's scryable."

Cryheart asks, "Like illusions?"

Speaking curiously to Lyrna, you ask, "Elaborate?"

Speaking to Cryheart, Goldstr asks, "Er da more he gets us to comply wid him may give him more power over our minds?"

Lyrna says, "Create magical scrying ... signatures of him so that if he tries to scry for him, he gets lots of possible answers."

Speaking drunkenly to you, Gutstorm says, "I be yer body guard from woodbe ashashinsh."

Faerinn says, "The new councilman seems found of scrying. Maybe he could be useful."

Lyrna says, "Too many pronouns, if Stone tries to scry for him, Stone gets ..."

Speaking to Lyrna, Goldstr says, "I dunno knows magics but dat sounds good."

Speaking to Lyrna, Guarrin admits, "Seems a fine idea. Would need someone familiar with..."

Roelon deeply says, "It does."

Lyrna says, "I read something in one of the books in the outpost..."

Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Decent idea... if he's going to be here, maybe we might as well make use of him."

Lyrna says, "I'd have to do some research."

Roelon deeply says, "Get some lookalits with some of his acutally possessons.."

Lyrna says, "I don't really know what's possible."

Roelon deeply says, "Might be able to fool the scryin' magic."

Lyrna says, "But that might be a means of protecting him."

Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Now, if we could make use of that Adjudicator too."

Goldstr says, "Da witch did dat."

Balantine says, "There's always the Reach, though I wouldn't recommend it. Plays havoc with magic and time, due to the Chaos."

Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "You'd think a witch hunter and inquisitor combo could do something better with her time than try an empty chair."

Speaking wryly to Faerinn, you say, "Yeah, tell me about. A genius Imperial move, this trial."

Lyrna asks, "So what was the idea about the limb thief?"

You say, "It does seem we've hashed out the Thrayzar conversation pretty thoroughly for now."

You say, "Be ready to move, and brainstorm any way we can even attempt to outmaneuver Stone."

Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Oh, it is actually because overnight we're in Hall jurisdiction."

Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Except when it might be useful like with self styled blood god Stone."

Speaking to Faerinn, Goldstr says, "Nae overnight as we HAS been a Protectorate fer ages."

You say, "Or blood witches. It's stunning how little the Hall helped with the battle, compared to how much they helped with the blight."

You say, "That said, Lord Breshon *has* said that the outpost is preparing for Stone."

Cryheart says, "There always has been a connection between the Landing and the Empire."

Faerinn says, "You should invoice Octaven for those towers..."

Goldstr says, "Da hall did send dem Golems fer aide in battle."

You say, "Question is whether it's just him or whether more of the Empire is preparing for that battle."

Speaking to Goldstr, you say, "True, at least at the very end."

You say, "The Hendorans, at least, have fought at our side from the outpost for years now."

Speaking to Lyrna, Faerinn says, "I have a suspicion about the limb thief when we get to it."

Balantine says, "And e'en before that in the Jantalar wars, Hendor provided aide."

Cryheart says, "Baron Malwind sent Sir Maldon here to lay claim to the Landing area, before Baron Hochstb could claim it."

Cryheart says, "History."

You say, "Alright... I think we've covered Thrayzar and the Emprire pretty thoroughly unless anyone else has more to add, so I think we can move on to the limb assassin and Faerinn's theory."

Balantine says, "Though as a free town, we nae e'er were under Chaston's Edict."

Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Please, go on. I think you might be on to something."

Faerinn says, "So this assassin has been bugging me for a while."

Lyrna says, "Understandably so."

Cryheart says, "Is this assassin still alive..I hae heard rumors."

Faerinn says, "And not for the obvious reasons."

You add, "And for those who don't know, the assassin we're talking about was a green-eyed figure running around killing candidates the past month and stealing limbs from us."

(Faerinn tilts his hand so-so at Cryheart.)

Speaking to you, Asben says, "I don't know how i missed that."

Faerinn says, "I do know a fellow how can move like that."

Speaking to Asben, you say, "He only struck us each one time, so it would be easy to miss if you weren't there."

Faerinn says, "He can jump in and out of the shadows."

Cryheart says, "Hmmm."

Roelon deeply says, "Sounds ...so familar.."

Balantine asks, "Any clue on stature? race?"

Faerinn says, "Proficient with two blades and can remove limbs with a practices hand."

Porom quietly says, "I heard about it, but never actually saw an incident of it happening."

Faerinn says, "Green eyes."

Lyrna asks, "So what is the theory?"

Elbromo says, "Maybe he was makin stew."

Faerinn says, "My gut is telling me that the assassin was former adminstrator of Mist Harbor, Socius Leiffen."

Lyrna asks, "Who?"

Balantine says, "I hae a few ideas of suspects as well, but need more than green eyes to go on."

Elbromo asks, "He makin dopplegangers?"

Goldstr says, "I heard sumpin bout dat but also he was now dead."

Faerinn says, "But my brain is telling me that its impossible because he buried him at the end of last year."

You say, "We've certainly seen people once thought dead return, so I don't think we can dismiss it."

Cryheart asks, "Socius was buried?"

Faerinn says, "Under incredibly weird circumstances too."

Faerinn says, "Wasn't allowed a look at the body. Wasn't given a cause of death."

Lyrna asks, "In what way?"

You mutter, "Not even slightly suspicious at all."

Alvyara quietly says, "Oh, my."

Lyrna says, "I've been there."

You speculatively muse, "A coverup on Mist Harbor's part, perhaps... banishing him and he ended up here?"

Speaking to Faerinn, Guarrin inquires, "Can you confirm the connection between Stone and this Socius fellow? Or at least that Stone was on the isle?"

Lyrna says, "Although I got a look at the body, I doubt he stayed dead."

Elbromo asks, "Exhume the grave?"

Lyrna says, "Different person."

Lyrna says, "Long ago."

Faerinn says, "Why he would be here even as a shade and killing an aquantance is far beyond me."

Speaking to Guarrin, Faerinn says, "Stone used to own an island in Mist Harbor."

Asben asks, "Did all the candidates get attaked?"

Speaking to Elbromo, you admit, "That was my first thought too, but I'm not sure I could talk the Mist Harbor authorities into letting us do that on what they'd see as just a hunch."

Asben asks, "What was taken from each of you?"

Lyrna says, "And took a different limb from each."

Faerinn says, "Two left arms, and a left leg from Leafi."

Lyrna says, "Oh, I thought the arms were different sides."

Speaking to Faerinn, Guarrin says, "Ah, confirms what we've heard elsewhere."

Speaking to Lyrna, Faerinn says, "You would think."

Alvyara says, "Clearly we were saved from some horrible fate by having only three mayoral candidates."

Speaking dryly to Lyrna, you say, "One would sure expect it."

Elbromo says, "Bad case of 'left'."

Lyrna asks, "Attacked from front or behind?"

Speaking to Lyrna, you say, "Behind."

Faerinn says, "Behind."

You say, "Others who witnessed the attacks got better looks than we did."

Lyrna asks, "Killed and then limb removed, then disappeared?"

You acknowledge, "Xorus probably had the most witnesses since the attack happened at a Dreavening."

Speaking to Helga, Geijon asks, "Sidebar as a human and I'm a giant, but you are atleast fifty five years in?"

Faerinn says, "But everyone got a good look at the eyes and technique."

Lyrna asks, "So... you were on the ground already fallen? then one move to take off a limb?"

Faerinn says, "Popped it off before I hit the ground."

Speaking to Lyrna, you say, "He took the limb before we even hit the ground."

Goldstr exclaims, "Wow!"

Faerinn says, "And before I even bleed out fully."

Lyrna says, "That's a very practiced move."

Roelon deeply asks, "It kept the limb eh?"

You say, "Slit throats, and running off with a limb as a trophy."

Faerinn says, "A move I have seen Socius do."

Roelon deeply says, "That is very bad."

Asben says, "That's creepy."

Lyrna says, "I mean it would take a lot of specific practice."

Goldstr asks, "Trophy er part to use?"

Roelon deeply says, "Trophy or ..component.."

Lyrna says, "It's the component part that is more concerning."

Balantine says, "May be something needed for blood magic or some such."

Faerinn says, "I suppose if it was actuall Socius I am lucky he didn't beat me with it..."

You say, "Some have thought blood magic, others a flesh golem..."

You say, "I considered maybe experiments with blood of troll kings, trying to grow doppelgangers of us."

You acknowledge, "It could be anything."

Lyrna says, "So if you suddenly don't like chocolate, you should be killed immediately."

Asben asks, "Or is he working with Grishom to make golems?"

Balantine asks, "Anyone know if Stone seeks other rare materials? components?"

Faerinn says, "Maybe proof of a job well done, but not really the most identifiable parts."

Roelon deeply says, "Or ah means of control."

Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "In any case, it's good that you knew more about Socius than most of us here. Now we have a potential lead."

Lyrna asks, "Who is Socius?"

You say, "I've asked Balley for help in using scrying to potentially locate Socius, if it's him. We might need a possession of his or something else to go on--I'm not sure. Scrying is her specialty, not mine."

Lyrna asks, "I mean, why would he care about Landing?"

Speaking to Asben, Faerinn says, "If he's working with Stone it would be under coercsion."

Speaking to Lyrna, you ask, "That is the interesting question, isn't it?"

Speaking drunkenly to you, Gutstorm says, "Fer da record, Balley is crazier den me, jush sayin."

Lyrna says, "One big one, for certain."

Speaking to Lyrna, you say, "But I can't write it off, because, well--let's be blunt, almost all of the local Landing assassins tend to like me."

You say, "An outsider makes sense in its own weird way."

Speaking to Faerinn, Asben says, "Well he was possibly dead. Stone may have saved him for a condition."

Goldstr starts chuckling at you!

Speaking to Goldstr, you say, "They do. It just keeps happening."

Lyrna says, "You're very likable."

Lyrna says, "But this wasn't personal, regardless since all candidates were attacked."

Lyrna says, "Well, probably."

Faerinn says, "If he is Socius or his shade I believe he's lost any kind of reason."

You say, "My thinking is, even if it ends up not being him, it's worth investigating."

You reason, "Not like we have any other leads, after all..."

Faerinn says, "True."

Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "I have something for Balley by the way. Like you asked."

Lyrna asks, "How would we investigate that possiblity?"

Speaking to Faerinn, Asben asks, "I assume you've checked his grave to make sure he's still there?"

Speaking gratefully to Faerinn, you say, "Ah, excellent. I can get it to her next time I see her, if you'd like."

Balantine says, "Grisholm Stone originally ran for Mayor against Walkar Wellington. Knowing his ability with golems and avatars, I wouldn't put it past him to use a substitute for a ruse of some sort."

Speaking to Asben, Faerinn says, "Grave was still there."

Faerinn offers you a pale ivory rose-shaped candle. Click ACCEPT to accept the offer or DECLINE to decline it. The offer will expire in 30 seconds.

You accept Faerinn's offer and are now holding a pale ivory rose-shaped candle.

Speaking to Faerinn, you ask, "From his office, I'm guessing?"

Speaking to Asben, Faerinn says, "And the candles on it were undisturbed."

You say, "Ahh, grave."

Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "From his grave. I left that there after his funeral."

Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Thank you. We'll try to track him down with this."

You add, "And Balley might need help in her scrying ritual. We'll have to see if she needs anything more."

Faerinn says, "His better momentos have a habit of vanishing."

Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "If this assassin attacks again and a weapon is recovered. Then it vanishes after a few days...it is definitely him."

Speaking slowly to Faerinn, you say, "Mighty convenient."

Speaking gratefully to Faerinn, you say, "Excellent, another characteristic clue to go on, then."

Faerinn says, "He had access to alot of artifacts from Mist Harbor. They were tied to him. Could conjure his knives at will, and they return when thrown."

Lyrna asks, "How close together did all the attacks occur?"

Lyrna asks, "Were they all the same night?"

Speaking to Lyrna, you say, "A few days apart."

Speaking to Lyrna, Faerinn says, "Days apart."

Guarrin says, "Within a few days, I believe."

Goldstr says, "I would tink his assigned job be done an he wonna return."

You say, "It seems Balley's away right now, unfortunately, but... will definitely put the word out for her."

Faerinn says, "An enruned poisoned dart is also a family heirloom he had access too. Returned as well."

Asben asks, "But none since the election?"

Speaking to Goldstr, you ask, "Ahhh, you think he's acting as a mercenary?"

Asben says, "A puzzle."

Speaking drunkenly to you, Gutstorm asks, "We find da ashashin yet?"

Speaking amusedly to Gutstorm, you say, "No, we're just discussing it."

Goldstr says, "Well hired as it were but still be alert to da situation."

Faerinn says, "That poison is weak however. It dissolves in water."

You say, "If he is working for someone instead of on his own, then finding him is only the first step.."

Alvyara quietly says, "All this is somewhat frightening."

You say, "I'd like to say let's hope he was working for himself, but it's rarely that easy around here."

Faerinn says, "If you get a better look under the hood. Socius would be a bald man with a scar down his face."

Faerinn says, "Human."

Gutstorm drunkenly asks, "We racial pofilin?"

You say, "Noted! We'll share that information publicly, then."

Lyrna says, "No, but it is useful information."

Speaking to you, Asben says, "Post it on that bulletin board."

Lyrna says, "It does limit the suspect pool."

Gutstorm drunkenly asks, "We got our bulletin board back?"

Speaking to Asben, you say, "I'm not sure how long it'll take to rebuild."

You say, "Or even if they'll approve it."

Speaking to Gutstorm, you say, "But I did ask, yes."

Faerinn says, "Scar goes down his right cheek and across the front of his neck."

Speaking drunkenly to you, Gutstorm says, "Yooz a good mayer."

Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Well, communication's imporatnt, after all."

Speaking to Gutstorm, you say, "Err, that was for you."

Speaking drunkenly to you, Gutstorm says, "Me and Dwi often cubmunicate wit each utter on da board, she not to bright so she cant fink to me so good."

Faerinn says, "But that's all I've got for a lead. Not a great one, but a lead."

You pragmatically say, "It's far better than the almost nothing we had before."

Lyrna says, "It's a lead."

Speaking gratefully to Faerinn, Guarrin says, "Thank you for sharing."

Speaking to Faerinn, Asben says, "Much better than nothing."

Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "In the best case, you're right. In the worst case, we at least rule out a possibility."

Speaking to Faerinn, you exclaim, "So thank you again for bringing this to us!"

Lyrna asks, "Scrying is spirit magic? Or are there different types of scrying?"

Faerinn says, "By the way he's buried in the cemetary in the western side of Mist Harbor. There is a path that leads to his obelisk."

Speaking uncertainly to Lyrna, you say, "Mm... would have to speak to someone more familiar with scrying about that."

The voice of Raelee says, "Scrying comes in a vast number of varities."

Speaking drunkenly to Lyrna, Gutstorm says, "I tink scrying is where you take lotta da hullijinimation drug to see wierd fings."

Speaking to Lyrna, you say, "Anyone from the Order of the Sphere and--"

Raelee suddenly fades into view.

You say, "Ahh, good eve there."

Asben says, "I'll probably go take a look at it tonight."

Cryheart says, "Magister."

Lyrna says, "I was going to come looking for you in a bit."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "Charna used a bowl with water most often.."

Raelee says, "Scrying is merely but a type of magic that allows one to see something other than what is before his or her own eyes. The methods are near countless."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Im sooprised Helga lets da zoo aminals in here."

Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn says, "Once again your colleague has quite the hobby for it."

Speaking to Gutstorm, you whisper aloud, "That's where some of the ingredients come from."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Oh."

Goldstr says, "I mus be off. Tankee Madam Mayor."

Speaking to Faerinn, Raelee asks, "And?"

Speaking appreciatively to Goldstr, you say, "Thank you for joining us tonight and sharing your thoughts."

Speaking drunkenly to a pale-faced coppery barn owl, Gutstorm says, "I promise no one gonna eat yooz but me, so yooz safe fer now."

Lyrna says, "We had been discussing, at one point, the possiblity of continuing to hide Thrayzar once he's found, but I had suggested the possibility of creating... decoys? to provide too many targets rather than trying to hide him."

Lyrna says, "But I don't know if that would be effective."

Faerinn says, "Good luck with that. And not getting eaten first."

Speaking evenly to Lyrna, Raelee says, "I heard."

Speaking to Raelee, you reason, "He might be a great resource to help with the investigation, or with finding Thrayzar, if he wants to start making more inroads with the citizens and not just be 'the imperial on the council.'."

Cryheart says, "Dinnae worry Owly..ye can fly higher than he can jump."

Lyrna asks, "And your thoughts on that?"

Speaking to you, Raelee says, "I would make a point."

Speaking curiously to Raelee, you say, "I'm all ears."

You hurriedly add, "Metaphorically, obviously."

Speaking to you, Raelee says, "There is a conflict in a lot of what I have heard tonight."

Speaking to you, Raelee says, "Ideas such as what you present here now. That Cordarius should help with the scrying. That the Hall could helped with the battle - and I can answer to that later."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Leafi when yooz has a minute, it off topic question."

Speaking to you, Raelee says, "... and the other half of the conversation is wanting the Empire to leave."

Raelee says, "At some point the lot of you will need to decide which one it is that you want... our help, or our absence."

You offhandedly say, "To be fair, that's mostly just Wolfloner and Faerinn."

Speaking to Lyrna, Krampton says, "I had mentioned that to leafi too about how good of a copy we could make of tharyzyr the night we found stone, With stone being pretty magically inclined supposedly, would have to be a pretty strong copy. Just to see if we can find out how stone would act once laying eyes upon who they thought might be him."

Speaking to Raelee, you ask, "Is a side-by-side alliance impossible, then?"

You ask, "No longer a protectorate, but allies in troubled times?"

Speaking drunkenly to Lyrna, Gutstorm says, "Yooz has funny ears."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Lyrna says, "They've been the same for hundreds of years."

Speaking to you, Raelee says, "I think that depends upon all of you."

Speaking drunkenly to Lyrna, Gutstorm asks, "My ears make da wax and hair fluff, dooz yer do same?"

Speaking to Raelee, you say, "A good case of food for thought, thank you."

Speaking to you, Raelee says, "As an aside..."

Lyrna says, "No hair fluff, I'm afraid."

Lyrna says, "I can't believe those words just came out of my mouth."

Raelee says, "The Hall is largely build of students, academics, and bureaucrats. Sure, there are some of us who can fight... but if you want help in a battle, it is the Imperial Drakes you should ask, and not the Hall."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "Been a while since I've had a run in with one of them."

You muse, "Mm, maybe I misunderstood Malvernus' role."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "I fink all town meetin shood be held here, dis goot spot."

Speaking to you, Raelee says, "... Malvernus is unique."

Speaking to himself, Guarrin mutters, "What was their name.."

Raelee says, "He reports directly to the Royal Magister."

You gratefully say, "Ah, perfect. An exception to the rule, then--I understand."

Speaking drunkenly to Lyrna, Gutstorm says, "Ye know, if yooz be needin goot bebbeh name, I know fews."

You say, "Incidentally, about Imperial organizations, I should probably mention something for those who aren't aware..."

You say, "Last year the Rook leader had come to us, saying that her information network had led her to believe that the Empire is preparing a response to Grishom Stone unlike what we've seen before."

Gutstorm drunkenly asks, "Mutter or da rook person?"

You say, "So my earlier comments about the lack of help with battling Raznel weren't exactly a criticism--"

You say, "More like a curiosity that preparations are being made for Grishom, I assume to battle, but not as much thought was given to Raznel."

Lyrna asks, "Other than in the sense that help is offered sometimes and not others based on Imperial inclination not that of the town?"

Lyrna says, "Not that that would be all that surprising."

Speaking to Lyrna, you say, "No, not even then, truly... we do have a pretty good track record for staving off threats to town, so I can understand."

You add, "Mostly."

Lyrna says, "That's fair."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Poltics, sheesh, dis be compicated."

You clarify, "Oh, and I should probably say Mother--the Rook leader--said all of this publicly on the streets, not in any private meeting any of you might be imagining."

You say, "It's in my reports from early last year, anyway."

You say, "And on that note, we've been here almost an hour and a half and, I think, covered a lot of solid ground."

You say, "Politics, assassins, Grishom Stone."

Asben says, "I wonder if they'd be willing to help hide Thrayzar."

Speaking to Asben, you say, "Certainly a possibility."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin agrees, "Yes, Sir Vectrus, that was him."

Speaking to you, Asben says, "Worth asking anyways."

You say, "If anyone would like to share anything else before we wrap up, the floor is still open."

Speaking dryly to Guarrin, Raelee says, "Not a man I could forget."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "So, Leafiara, to more pessin matters. Razzy slapped me upside me head wif so shoes yoo be gibbin her. I need a pair of shoes like dems to return favor."

You say, "Will definitely look into Sir Cryheart's proposal with the town council."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "Perhaps a discussion for another time."

Speaking to Gutstorm, you advise, "Find someone who's been spending a lot of time in the Delirium Manor and has a spare pair."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "Indeed."

Speaking to you, Balantine asks, "Any idea when the seigery shop will reopen?"

Faerinn says, "Good night everyone."

Porom says, "Think of it as a friendly way to say hello."

Speaking to you, Guarrin says, "I did have one item."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Oh, I fawt yooz be makin dems."

Speaking amiably to Guarrin, you say, "Certainly, now's the time."

Speaking amusedly to Gutstorm, you say, "I wish."

Speaking to you, Guarrin says, "Has there been any further thought given to improving the town's defenses. Certainly an upgrade from wooden pallisades seems reasonable."

Speaking to Guarrin, you say, "It depends what part of the town defenses you mean. Some is in mayoral jurisdiction and others for the militia.."

Speaking to you, Guarrin adds, "And would likely go a long way towards whatever threat we face. Even a halfway decent gate or wards would be helpful."

Speaking to Guarrin, you say, "And that would fall under the mayor, or more accurately the town council."

Cryheart says, "Ramparts on the walls, so folks could man the walls."

Speaking to Guarrin, you say, "It's worth checking into, but I'd like more specifics before I can send a proposal."

Guarrin says, "Look I'd be happy with some wards at the gate. Or even a better gate."

Porom calmly says, "Something like that sounds like it would also take a great deal of time to build."

You amusedly say, "Ah, so the bare basics."

Cryheart says, "Aye."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "I gots good aim, I kin werk da big arrow shootin fing."

Lyrna says, "It would, but if the process never starts, it never gets built."

Speaking to Porom, you say, "True, but even if it does, there's nothing wrong with getting starte now."

Speaking to Lyrna, Guarrin says, "Aye, just so."

You say, "Some things Puptilian arranged for didn't happen for years, to my understanding."

Speaking to Guarrin, Asben says, "Maybe also just fortifyng what we have."

You mumble, "Bureaucracy."

Speaking drunkenly to Guarrin, Gutstorm says, "I dont know ifin i dink to much, but I offen confooz yooz wit da town guard."

Speaking to Guarrin, Asben says, "I think that would be a really smart idea."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Guarrin confirms, "You drink too much."

Speaking to Guarrin, you say, "So a better gate, wards of some sort..."

Lyrna says, "I do have a couple maps close to finished, Guarrin. Soon we should be able to go over some proposals and I can add a layer or two to them for you."

Speaking gratefully to Lyrna, Guarrin says, "That would be perfect. Thank you."

Balantine says, "Someday, the confectioners shop will offer those big chocolate bricks that make multiple treats in my treat maker."

Speaking approvingly to Lyrna, you say, "Oh, an excellent idea. Of course coming from a lifelong soldier."

You add, "Oh, I forget if I answered this, but no word on the siegery shop reopening."

Speaking to you, Asben says, "Maybe an extra watch tower or two where we can place archers."

Speaking to you, Evia says, "The main gate is not even guarded, it should be guarded at all times, and have an alert system in place."

You say, "Walward is hoping to release a new batch of miniatures in time for Frontier Days, though."

Roelaren says, "Nice."

Speaking lightly to Evia, you ask, "Other than Maylan sounding the alarm?"

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "I want a Dreaven and a Larsya mini."

Speaking to you, Balantine says, "Thanks for that info, nae hurry."

Speaking to Evia, you say, "But yes, I see what you mean... another guard might be good."

Roelaren says, "It would be nice to have Frontier Days earlier than last year."

Cryheart says, "Other than Maylan the watcher."

Balantine says, "An' if anyone sights a flying steed, I'm still in the market."

Lyrna says, "It is odd that there isn't one at the north gate."

You say, "And a few of you might remember, during the war with Chaston, how many militia we had roaming the streets."

Lyrna says, "And half the time, not at the west gate."

Roelon deeply says, "Perhaps an extra guard or too to cover all hours..."

Speaking vaguely to Lyrna, you say, "Well, you know, grandfathering him in for his talent..."

Cryheart asks, "Town cannae hire another guard to stand duty when Quin visits Helga?"

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "It not Helga fault dat she attract da hansum men."

You say, "I *have* to believe that previous mayors have tried hiring more guards."

You dubiously say, "It would seem like a crazy oversight if they didn't think of it."

You speculatively say, "Which might mean the council just--doesn't have the budget."

Cryheart says, "Well..politics."

Lyrna says, "It might be more useful for them to do shorter shifts and not allow breaks... here."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Can always close the norf gate ye knows."

You say, "Maybe the treasury just keeps going toward rebuilding from all our fires."

You say, "Still, anything's worth a shot. I'll look into it."

You say, "And the town guard *is* supposed to be under the purview of the mayor--so I'm told."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "He say so hisself."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "He say mayor hire him."

You clarify, "I meant all of the town guards, not just Sleepy, but yes."

Speaking quietly to Guarrin, Raelee says, "I will return."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Oh, dere go me madic hado."

You approvingly say, "Alright! I think we've concluded a productive meeting, then."

You say, "As the crowd goes quiet."

Cryheart says, "Good meeting."

You say, "I want to thank you all again for coming, truly."

Roelaren says, "Very good meeting."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "I eshkert ye to yooz next detonation."

You say, "We have a lot to go on now, a lot to move forward with."

Roelaren says, "I always love these."

You say, "Our next night meeting will be in two weeks' time."

Roelaren says, "Ok."

You say, "But also a daytime meeting on the 11th at 4 in the afternoon."

You say, "I don't expect everyone to be at all of them, obviously..."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Me likes to sneep in so, dat werk goot fer me."

You say, "The point is to open up the floor to different groups in town."
