Log

[Krythussa's Confectionary Shop]

A barrage of sweet-smelling chocolate, candy, and other goodies assaults the senses as their scents fill the air of the quaint but simple candy shop. Crystal shelves stacked with glass jars in a variety of shapes and colors line the walls. Sunlight streams through the windows, and creates a rainbow of colors upon the floor as it strikes the glass jars. A glass counter stands to the left of a small alcove.

You amiably exclaim, "Good afternoon there!"

Faerinn says, "Good afternoon to you as well."

Alisaire mildly says, "Good evening."

Speaking curiously to Faerinn, you ask, "Loremaster Rohese is still on her way, I take it?"

Speaking to Alisaire, Faerinn says, "Good to see you again."

Speaking to Alisette, Faerinn says, "You are well."

Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "I believe so yes. Last I talked to her."

Speaking to Alisaire, Alisette says, "Afternoon, again, I am Alisette."

Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Which was a couple of hours ago."

Speaking heartily to Alisaire, Chamorr says, "Sorry fer yellin atchya."

Alisaire says, "But Alisaire is close enough."

Alisaire just handed Alisette some coins.

Speaking to Alisette, Alisaire says, "I think someone paid me instead of you earlier."

Alisaire says, "They appear to be a dreadful tipper."

Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "I was able to briefly meet with her two afternoons ago to catch up on some of the happenings at Mist Harbor, but--I'm curious what she still has to say."

Speaking to Alisaire, Faerinn says, "What a strange mistake to make."

Speaking to Faerinn, Alisaire says, "I quite agree."

You admit, "I was hoping to at least see Rohese before we get started, but I guess nothing stops us.."

Alisaire says, "She is not far away."

Speaking quietly to you, Ilsola asks, "Mayor Leafiara, I presume?"

Speaking to Ilsola, Faerinn says, "Not who I expected to see today."

Speaking pleasantly to Ilsola, you say, "Yes indeed! Welcome, welcome."

Speaking quietly to you, Ilsola says, "I beg your pardon for the intrusion, but Loremaster Rohese suggested this would be a good meeting for me to attend."

Speaking amiably to Ilsola, you say, "Oh, not an intrusion at all--everyone is welcome."

Speaking to Ilsola, Faerinn says, "Or here anyway, Administrator."

Speaking tentatively to Ilsola, you say, "You look sort of famil--"

Speaking quietly to you, Ilsola says, "I should like to do a great deal of listening, as I would like to understand fully what has transpired... and then I may have something to add."

Speaking suddenly to Faerinn, you say, "Oh."

Speaking sheepishly to Ilsola, you ask, "Right, my manners--you're the current Administrator of Mist Harbor then?"

Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "This is Administrator Ilsola of Mist Harbor."

Speaking amicably to Ilsola, you exclaim, "Welcome and well met then!"

Speaking to you, Ilsola confirms, "Indeed. Ilsola Tuulikki, at your service."

You say, "And on that note, I suppose it's time we get started..."

You recite:

"Welcome all to our weekly town meeting, discussing current affairs in the Landing!"

Rohese softly says, "Good evening, all."

Speaking to Rohese, Faerinn whispers aloud, "The Administrator made it as well."

Speaking warmly to Rohese, Alisette says, "Evening, Ma'am."

Akenna says, "Good evening."

Speaking softly to Ilsola, Rohese says, "I'm glad you could make it."

You recite:

"As always, the agenda and topics of discussion are what you want them to be--thoughts and questions on recent events, suggestions for improving the town, and so forth."

Speaking to Ilsola, Tennalnen says, "Good day."

You recite:

"With that said, Loremaster Rohese specially inquired about being here today and we're glad to have her."

Speaking quietly to Rohese, Ilsola murmurs, "I appreciate you letting me know about it. I may have something worthwhile to contribute, once I have a firmer grasp on things."

You recite:

"As did Faerinn, afterward, so I'd like to give them some time to speak first."

Speaking amiably to Faerinn, you say, "Please, whatever you wished to share."

Speaking to Rohese, you add, "And you as well."

Speaking to Ilsola, Tennalnen says, "Your choice for the new guard leader seems to be working out."

Speaking softly to you, Rohese says, "I am grateful for you allowing us to intrude."

Speaking to Rohese, you assure, "No intrusion at all. We're glad to have you."

Faerinn says, "Ah, since I've been monitoring the situation with Socius' memorial in Mist Harbor. Ever since I mentioned my suspicions to the Mayor."

Faerinn says, "Which was barely a memorial at all."

Speaking gently to Faerinn, Rohese corrects, "In a sense, it still is."

Faerinn says, "Someone exhumed it this week and quite frankly that was the first time that soil had been moved."

Speaking to Rohese, Faerinn asks, "Is a grave that never held a body still a grave?"

Rohese carefully adds, "It may not be consecrated ground with his body interred but until we know his demise, Socius is still lost to us."

Rohese softly says, "And I still mourn that loss."

Akenna abruptly interjects, "He wasn't there."

Speaking to Rohese, Faerinn asks, "Lost or left us?"

Speaking softly to Faerinn, Rohese counters, "Semantics."

Chamorr heartily asks, "Who is he?"

You interject, "Is everyone following along? I want to make sure--"

Speaking softly to Faerinn, Rohese says, "But forgive me, you were saying ..."

Ilsola quietly asks, "If... I may?"

Speaking to Chamorr, you explain, "Faerinn had a suspect during the attacks on the mayoral candidates, which has been under investigation."

Speaking amiably to Ilsola, you say, "Please."

Ilsola says, "Socius is, or perhaps was, the last remaining member of the Leiffen line... titular owners of Four Winds Isle."

Ilsola says, "For the sake of brevity, I shall continue to use the past tense... Socius was a fierce, capable fighter, a staunch friend, and believed in loyalty above all else."

You tentatively say, "Then his absence would be cause for some upheaval at the very least..."

Speaking softly to you, Rohese says, "It would indeed."

Ilsola adds, "Though he was also vicious in the extreme, and was never hesitant to use force to resolve his problems."

Akenna inquires, "If he's gone then where is his body?"

Speaking affably to Ilsola, you say, "Sounds good so far."

Chamorr heartily asks, "How is he at sewing?"

Speaking to Thuunk, Ilsola asks, "Yes?"

Speaking to Akenna, Faerinn says, "Well he took it with him clearly. Or Selbi dumped it somewhere."

Thuunk asks, "Was there any dispute regarding his ownership of the Isle?"

Speaking to Faerinn, Akenna says, "Selbi wouldn't have done that."

Speaking to Thuunk, Ilsola says, "He was the sole heir, and his father passed away."

Speaking to Faerinn, Akenna says, "She cared about Socius, she was his teacher."

Akenna says, "She helped him with great risk to herself."

Akenna says, "She paid for it."

Ilsola says, "Socius' father was a powerful magic-user, by all accounts. And when he died, he left Socius with a share of those abilities, tied to his memories."

Ilsola says, "Socius had no known magical abilities of his own, though his martial skills were sometimes termed as such."

Speaking to Akenna, Faerinn asks, "And put on a whole wake for us as what? Performance art?"

Ilsola says, "Towards the end of Mistress Selbi's... time as the head of Mist Harbor... Socius' body seemingly appeared from nowhere, and was interred on the Isle."

Speaking curiously to Faerinn, you ask, "His ability to melt into the shadows was one of the reasons you suspected it was him, right?"

Speaking calmly to Faerinn, Rohese says, "Not so harsh."

You muse, "...sounds like magic to me, at least..."

Alisette says, "Pardon, everyone, there are refreshments on the cart, I know some of you have not attended our meetings before, please, help yourself."

Akenna asks, "Daggers he uses daggers, doesn't he?"

Ilsola says, "I had... intended to wait, but this seems like an appropriate time..."

Akenna asks, "This... person?"

Speaking to Faerinn, Ilsola says, "I received your letter, and I thank you for it."

Chamorr heartily says, "Question."

Speaking to Faerinn, Ilsola says, "On your advice, I did some digging into the archives."

Alisaire mildly remarks, "How barbaric."

Speaking to his leek stuffed roa'terling, Thuunk says, "Nothing quite like a leeky sausage."

Chamorr heartily says, "Missin or not, what disturbance does that cause to the Isle."

Speaking to Ilsola, Faerinn says, "That's good to hear. They are a mess."

Speaking to Chamorr, Ilsola says, "Thankfully, very little, as he left us at a most auspicious time, when most of our troubles came to an end... for the time being."

Speaking to Ilsola, Faerinn says, "I had hoped you would look aside from what might be considered vandalism and had more information on all that."

Speaking to Faerinn, Ilsola says, "Indeed, but I found something rather interesting. A parchment that contained the imprint of a letter that Selbi apparently wrote... to Socius."

Speaking thoughtfully to Rohese, you say, "The question you raised the other day was good as well--why he'd be doing this, taking limbs and such, if it truly is him."

Speaking softly to you, Rohese says, "Indeed, I think we should continue to question motives, not means."

Ilsola continues, "I have made a series of rubbings, as the imprint is clear enough to support such methods."

Ilsola offers you a faded rubbing. Click ACCEPT to accept the offer or DECLINE to decline it. The offer will expire in 30 seconds.

Speaking to Ilsola, Tennalnen asks, "What does it say?"

You accept Ilsola's offer and are now holding a faded rubbing.

Ilsola offers Faerinn a faded rubbing.

>read my rub

In the Common language, it reads:

Socius, you are a damnable fool, but I know above all others that you are not to be dissuaded. The powers at play are too strong, and too unknown, so I can offer only this: Should the magic incapacitate you, I will hide you as best I can, for as long as I may. You're an idiot to attempt this for me... I made my choices. But I thank you all the same, and I will do what I can to protect you before my hourglass runs out.

To the end,

Selbi

Faerinn accepts Ilsola's faded rubbing.

Chamorr heartily asks, "You suspect him of bein da Fist?"

Ilsola says, "I have a few more copies, and the original is in my office if any wish to see it."

Ilsola offers Akenna a faded rubbing.

Speaking to your faded rubbing, you say, "Curious..."

Akenna accepts Ilsola's faded rubbing.

Ilsola offers Tennalnen a faded rubbing.

Tennalnen accepts Ilsola's faded rubbing.

Faerinn says, "I can read it aloud."

Speaking softly to Faerinn, Rohese says, "Please do."

Alisaire says, "Indeed."

You curiously ask, "Any guesses as to the timing of this letter?"

Faerinn says, "Socius, you are a damnable fool, but I know above all others that you are not to be dissuaded. The powers at play are too strong, and too unknown, so I can offer only this: Should the magic incapacitate you, I will hide you as best I can, for as long as I may. You're an idiot to attempt this for me... I made my choices. But I thank you all the same, and I will do what I can to protect you before my hourglass runs out."

Faerinn says, "To the end,"

Faerinn says, "Selbi."

Speaking to Ilsola, Tennalnen says, "Very interesting."

Akenna asks, "See?"

Faerinn says, "So I'm guessing using his borrowed powers did burn more than just memories of his father."

Akenna sighs, "Which means he made this bed, didn't he?"

Ilsola says, "While I am not in possession of all the facts... far from it... this would lead me to believe that Socius is almost certainly alive."

Chamorr heartily asks, "Is this Selbi missin too?"

Akenna says, "Selbi is dead."

Chamorr heartily says, "Ahhh."

Chamorr heartily says, "How."

Shinann asks, "Where is her body?"

Faerinn says, "Though a body of hers was never recovered either."

Akenna says, "Her choices."

Speaking to Akenna, Tennalnen says, "Socius is dead."

Akenna says, "She was... dragged off."

Ilsola says, "The small bits that I have heard regarding the troubles here describe an individual with... skills... that seem to parrot those Socius displayed."

Chamorr heartily says, "So."

Speaking softly to Ilsola, Rohese says, "I think that's a reasonable assumption and one which gives me joy and hope."

Akenna says, "She had ties to the..."

Chamorr heartily says, "You has two deaths and no bodies."

Akenna says, "Darker councils."

You acknowledge, "I'd certainly prefer to believe Socius is alive, even if he ultimately is involved with the Fist."

Akenna says, "She betrayed them to help us."

Tennalnen says, "So it is possible, they are both alive."

Akenna says, "To help Socius."

Speaking to Ilsola, Faerinn says, "Right so what if after Selbi leaves him wherever. Without his memories. Someone else picks him up."

Speaking to Ilsola, Faerinn says, "Retrains him. Gives him a new name and purpose."

Speaking to Faerinn, Ilsola says, "I have no way of knowing, but the scenario has plausibility. I simply don't know enough at this point."

Rohese softly says, "Little is widely known of Selbi's sacrifice."

Faerinn says, "Selbi was reclaimed by a certain organization that used to be hiding out under the bathhouse."

Speaking to you, Ilsola says, "I apologize for interrupting in this fashion, Mayor, but I felt the facts were worth reviewing at this point."

Faerinn says, "I think they were called the Clean Boys Club or something like that."

Akenna says, "She was one of them."

Speaking graciously to Ilsola, you say, "No, no, this is all valuable information we needed to hear. Thank you for bringing it to us."

Akenna says, "The Flock had ties to them."

Shinann asks, "Can we be certain she is dead?"

Speaking to Rohese, you say, "And to you for inviting her."

Faerinn says, "So I don't have much to prove it."

Alisette softly says, "So... there is a correlation between Socius's practices for Selbi, and the current problems facing the Landing."

Faerinn says, "But nothing has disproven it."

Faerinn says, "That the Fist may be Socius."

Speaking softly to you, Rohese says, "You're welcome. I thought it best we all shared what we know."

Speaking to Faerinn, Thuunk asks, "Clean Old Lads? maybe?"

Speaking curiously to Rohese, you ask, "I do have a question--the other day I asked if there were any ways we might be able to capture Socius, and you suggested to not even try. Why is that?"

You add, "All assuming it is him, of course."

Speaking softly to you, Rohese says, "Because you won't succeed."

Akenna agrees, "You won't."

Speaking to Rohese, you ask, "Even though he has no magic abilities?"

Speaking to Thuunk, Faerinn says, "I think that's closer, yes."

Akenna says, "I think if he still has some memories.. phantom, it might help."

Speaking softly to you, Rohese says, "As Ilsola mentioned, he is an extremely skillful tactician and warrior."

Faerinn asks, "I am curious by the way. Was any leadership spotted at last night's attack?"

You admit, "I'd prefer to capture than kill, and we can't just leave him running around if that is him..."

Alisette asks, "In lieu of capture, are there other ideas you might have?"

Akenna says, "If we could jog them into memory or find a way to reclaim them--"

Ilsola quietly affirms, "Socius was regarded by most as second to none in martial situations of all sorts. It was diplomacy where he... let us say, lacked?"

Speaking approvingly to Akenna, you say, "Great idea."

Chamorr heartily says, "We has captured Drangell and Razzy why not him."

Speaking softly to Alisaire, Rohese says, "I suggested to Leafiara the other day that she try to find the reason behind all that is happening. As why, not who."

Speaking to you, Akenna says, "I don't know if it would help."

Akenna says, "Or if we could."

Akenna says, "That kind of magic is... difficult."

Speaking to Akenna, you say, "But it's better than not having a plan at all."

Faerinn says, "Either the Fist or any more shouting by the shrill woman who has been having a rough time of controlling those abominations."

Speaking to Akenna, you muse, "Maybe if we could gather some mentalists for a ritual..."

Faerinn asks, "Either of them present last night? Or just abominations?"

Speaking to Faerinn, you answer, "And no, I didn't see or even hear any leadership last night."

Alisette remarks, "They would need to be seasoned Mentalists, I am young, yet."

Alisaire mildly asks, "Who dug up his grave?"

Faerinn says, "What we do know of the Fist is he takes marching orders from someone else."

Akenna says, "I don't think Selbi lives, and Selbi wouldn't have gone out on the battlefield with things she wasn't sure she could control."

Akenna says, "She wasn't that kind of woman."

You admit, "It's very curious. Sometimes they attack along with Socius--or the figure who resembles him--and other times not. Sometimes the shrill voice, other times not. Sometimes no apparent leader at all."

Speaking to Faerinn, Ilsola says, "That's the first I've heard of that piece of information... that is... not like him."

Speaking to Ilsola, you say, "Yes, that was what we were told by a deserter from their army."

Faerinn says, "So that adds more evidence to the idea of Socius being manipulated."

Shinann says, "Unless something was done to her mind when she was taken away."

You add, "...speaking of which, I haven't seen them working with mercenaries ever since the earliest attack."

Akenna says, "I feel he is being used in an ill manner."

Speaking to Ilsola, Faerinn says, "Well if you mean Socius. If he burnt out his brain, he might not be the same guy anymore."

Tennalnen asks, "Have we proof as of yet that Socius is this Fist?"

(Faerinn rubs his left arm.)

Tennalnen says, "I didn't think so."

Faerinn says, "Nothing outside of its possible."

Speaking to Tennalnen, you say, "I wouldn't even go so far as to say we have proof that the cloaked figure is the Fist."

Akenna says, "If he moves like Socius? There would be no doubt, I've never seen anyone move like him."

Tennalnen asks, "Might we then try to gather more information in some way?"

Speaking to Tennalnen, you say, "Hapenlok and I each separately came to the theory that the Fist could very well be--"

Faerinn says, "And I imagine there aren't that many people that moved like Socius."

You glance at Shinann.

Gutstorm drunkenly exclaims, "Shorry me late, me clearin da trailsh of badnicksh!"

Speaking to you, Tennalnen asks, "Have any scouts, or parties gone out in search of where these attacks are coming from?"

Alisaire mildly says, "Surely there can't be that many people with - what was it, green? - green eyes in this part of the world."

You awkwardly conclude, "Well, the thought at least passed our mind that it could be one of ours."

Akenna says, "It would take years to learn to move the way he did... years and no one fought like him."

Shinann says, "I do not think it is."

(Raelee appears, standing slightly behind Alisaire.)

Speaking to Ilsola, Faerinn says, "That deserter was killed by a knife like the one I've seen being wielded by that individual."

Speaking to Tennalnen, you say, "As of last night, apparently the Rooks have--since they were able to warn us a few minutes in advance."

Speaking to Ilsola, Faerinn says, "Killing a traitor himself does sound like the man we knew."

Speaking uncomfortably to Faerinn, Ilsola admits, "Indeed..."

Akenna says, "Yes."

Speaking to Tennalnen, you admit, "That was the first sign we've had that it's possible at all to track the Fist's army's movements. Until now we thought they might have moved by magic."

Speaking to Rohese, Alisette asks, "Can I get you anything, Ma'am?"

Speaking graciously to Alisaire, Rohese responds, "I'm fine, thank you."

Speaking to you, Tennalnen says, "Maybe, as Mayor, you could seek out some scouts to gather information."

Tennalnen says, "Information is key in making any plans."

Faerinn says, "I can't remember who's entrance that is."

Speaking to Tennalnen, you say, "That would be on the militia--the town guard doesn't leave the walls."

Speaking to Ilsola, Faerinn asks, "By the way does honeysuckle mean anything to you?"

Speaking to Shinann, you say, "But he does raise a good point."

Speaking confusedly to Faerinn, Ilsola asks, "Not especially?"

Shinann says, "We have been scouting."

Speaking to Ilsola, Faerinn says, "The hole at the memorial reeked of it."

Faerinn says, "The best I can think of is...the language of flowers meaning a 'devoted lover'."

Ilsola quietly says, "I'm afraid I have no idea what that could mean... if anything."

Shinann says, "It is like they vanish right after they finish attacks."

Speaking to Shinann, you agree, "Exactly the problem indeed..."

Shinann says, "Cannot be tracked, at this time."

Faerinn says, "But I am pulling at threads."

Faerinn says, "Or grasping as straws for why it would smell like honeysuckle there."

Alisaire says, "Honeysuckle is a rather fragrant vine, though it's a bit early for it to be blooming in this region."

Alisette says, "Aye."

Speaking to Alisaire, Faerinn asks, "What about Mist Harbor?"

Akenna confesses, "I..."

Speaking drunkenly to you, Gutstorm says, "Me had a subeshtion."

Alisaire says, "It's far warmer there."

Alisaire says, "It grows abundantly."

Speaking curiously to Gutstorm, you ask, "Yes?"

Akenna confesses, "I and another person dug up the memorial."

(Rohese gently encourages Akenna to step forward, her hand resting on her back.)

Speaking drunkenly to you, Gutstorm says, "We needsh to be firepoofin dem towersh incase some ashole comesh by and ashidentally burnsh one down."

Akenna says, "Our shovels smelled of it....honeysuckle."

Akenna says, "I borrowed the shovels from Greth."

Speaking to Akenna, Faerinn says, "Oh. Cross containmination."

Speaking drunkenly to you, Gutstorm says, "No ashk how I know dish."

Akenna says, "We only used them for a short time before we got fed up and I used a spell... I dug till I sensed water."

Speaking to Akenna, Faerinn says, "Well I what I think you did was a service."

Speaking curiously to Akenna, you inquire, "Did you.... accomplish what you were hoping to?"

Speaking drunkenly to Razanetika, Gutstorm exclaims, "Wotcha doin here?!"

Akenna says, "He wasn't there.."

Akenna says, "So yes, we did."

Speaking to Akenna, Faerinn says, "Ah, and then I dug further and found the water."

Speaking softly to Gutstorm, Razanetika says, "Listening.. shhh."

Speaking amicably to Akenna, you say, "I'm with ya. Sounds like you made the right choice."

Speaking drunkenly to Razanetika, Gutstorm says, "Arnt yooz wanted by da law here? Shum kinna miscreant type."

Akenna says, "I.. am sorry I meant to put it back but I didn't want to get caught."

Ilsola diplomatically agrees, "Given how it turned out... I would agree."

Speaking softly to Gutstorm, Razanetika says, "I was pardoned.... an that was weeks ago."

Speaking understandingly to Akenna, Alisette says, "It turned out alright."

Speaking drunkenly to Razanetika, Gutstorm says, "Hold me shpot I will be back."

Speaking to Ilsola, Akenna promises, "I'll fix it."

Speaking softly to Akenna, Rohese prompts, "And apologise to Greth in person."

Akenna exclaims, "I left him a note and a letter!"

Akenna says, "But.. alright."

Speaking softly to Akenna, Rohese says, "Yes, you did but still .."

You muse, "So on one hand, the thought is that we'd have trouble capturing Socius if it's really him, because of his combat genius--but on the other hand, the thought is that his memories might be gone."

You say, "But at very least he's retained--muscle memory, maybe? Or at least combat instincts."

Tennalnen says, "Some tactics."

Tennalnen says, "If it should prove to be him."

Alisette says, "So we are back to why."

Speaking to Tennalnen, you say, "That depends whether he's the Fist or not, and even if he is, whether he's the one in charge of tactics."

Chamorr heartily asks, "Does he have the knowledge to fabricate these abominations?"

Speaking to her faded rubbing, Akenna says, "All this time I thought he might be a shade, but if he's alive there might be a chance for him..."

Speaking to Chamorr, Faerinn says, "I doubt it."

Speaking softly to Chamorr, Rohese says, "I would say no."

You reason, "If he does answer to someone else and that someone else is making the battle strategies, then he's simply a very effective combatant."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "Those were some pretty big words, huh."

Faerinn says, "There is some kind of other organization and infrastructure for the abominations."

You add, "Potentially, anyway."

Speaking softly to you, Rohese suggests, "Simply a tool."

Chamorr heartily says, "Then someone else is building them."

Faerinn says, "So yes, even if the Fist is Socius and he's simply being used as a tool..."

Ilsola quietly offers, "If he is being used in that manner, it cannot be sitting well with him. The man was fiercely independent."

Faerinn says, "There is another person or persons with motives beyond me."

Raelee abruptly asks, "May I interrupt with a question... for a point of clarification?"

Alisette asks, "Would there be a way to communicate with him?"

You reasonably say, "Because even a loss of memories doesn't have to be a change of personality, right."

Speaking curiously to Raelee, you say, "Sure."

Faerinn says, "They already got their deserter."

Alisette says, "A way..."

The voice of Thuunk says, "Hoot."

Chamorr heartily asks, "Does Selbi have such knowledge?"

Speaking to Chamorr, Faerinn says, "Illusions was the best I can remember her managing."

Raelee asks, "The speculation that this Socius is the First... this is based upon eye color, a penchant for collecting body parts, and his lack of presence in his own grave? Is this connection being drawn purely circumstantially or is there more at the back of your minds that you have not yet voiced?"

Chamorr heartily says, "Then there is someone else runnin da show."

Razanetika softly says, "Pardon me."

Faerinn says, "Selbi did...walk with the light. Whatever that means."

You admit, "I personally wouldn't even go so far as that he's the Fist, but at very least working with that army even if he's not the general. Assuming that he's the cloaked figure..."

You acknowledge, "And yes, it all seems circumstantial so far, at least to me."

Speaking quietly to Raelee, Ilsola says, "I believe there have also been reports of his movements, and his abilities... plus the timeline might suggest it. But as for firm evidence, there exists none that I have heard tell of."

Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn says, "And eyewitness to how he moves. Don't forget that."

Raelee says, "... I see."

Akenna asks, "Might I interject a moment?"

You offer, "Even a circumstantial lead is better than no lead."

Akenna asks, "With regards to Selbi?"

Faerinn says, "And no evidence suggests he may be without memory and vulnerable."

Faerinn says, "Sorry. Evidence does suggest."

Faerinn says, "That he may have been without memory and vulnerable."

Akenna says, "Selbi was a smart woman, she would not have ever stepped on to a battlefield without being sure anything under her control could stray. She was calculating and this person is an amateur at best."

Akenna says, "Selbi is dead."

Shinann asks, "You have no body, correct?"

Speaking to Akenna, you ask, "'This person' meaning the one controlling the abominations?"

Akenna says, "Yes."

Shinann says, "For her or for him..."

Speaking to Shinann, Faerinn says, "We say her hit with a crossbow bolt and did not find Selbi's body."

Speaking to Shinann, Faerinn says, "We were shown a body for Socius, but Selbi did not allow us a closer look."

Thuunk quietly says, "Excuse me, I will be right back."

Speaking to Faerinn, you ask, "Hit in a vital spot, at least?"

Ilsola quietly adds, "Given what I know of her loyalties, and her actions in the last month of her life, I would suggest her still drawing breath is a highly unlikely prospect, and a notion worth discarding."

Faerinn says, "Supposedly she was dying of a wasting disease anyway."

You quietly say, "Ah."

Speaking softly to Akenna, Rohese whispers aloud, "You've tried."

Chamorr heartily asks, "How long ago did Selbi vanish?"

Razanetika gives Alisaire a quick little smooch.

Razanetika flails her arms about.

Speaking playfully to Eugenides, Rohese says, "You're late."

Speaking to Rohese, Eugenides says, "I didn't even know what was going on."

Speaking to Chamorr, Faerinn says, "Last fall."

Speaking softly to herself, Razanetika says, "Epic fails, one after the other today."

Razanetika hugs Alisette, who wraps her in a warm embrace.

Alisette gives Razanetika a warm buss on the lips.

Chamorr heartily says, "Vlashy has a knck fer lookin like folks she aint."

Chamorr heartily says, "Knack."

Speaking to Razanetika, Alisette says, "Everyone has done the same."

Speaking to Chamorr, Ilsola interjects, "I'm sorry, who?"

Speaking suddenly to Chamorr, you say, "Now there's a very interesting point."

Alisaire mildly says, "Anyone with the right trinket or potion can assume a different appearance, if they so wish."

Raelee tiredly says, "... the Hall is not actually behind every bad thing that happens to this town."

Speaking heartily to Ilsola, Chamorr says, "Vlashandra sumthin."

Faerinn says, "He means Vlashandra the adjudicator."

Rohese curiously asks, "Yes, who is this woman I keep hearing of?"

Alisaire says, "Change their eye color, their hair, even the look of their own race."

Speaking to Ilsola, you explain, "Vlashandra, a visiting member of the Empire's Hall of Mages. She's, ah--changed her face."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "Only most."

Speaking to Ilsola, you add, "At the behest of Grand Magister Octaven above her."

Speaking to Chamorr, Raelee says, "Statistically false."

Faerinn says, "It doesn't sound like she can make her face change in an instant. She made it sound like it takes effort."

Faerinn says, "I don't see the connection anyway."

Speaking to Faerinn, you admit, "But she could be lying..."

Alisette says, "There is not a connection that I can see. Vlashandra is trying to save face."

Speaking to Alisaire, you say, "Because there is much to what you say."

Alisette clasps her hand over her mouth.

Alisette says, "Pardon."

Shinann says, "So, this Selbi was taken by dark forces but instead of corrupting her mind or using her, they would have killed her? I am sorry I keep going back to that."

Speaking to Shinann, Faerinn says, "Or she died of natural causes. She was dying."

You acknowledge, "It's not as if Vlashandra has allowed any of us close enough to find out whether her face has changed to the touch or just to sigh."

You say, "Sight."

Speaking quietly to Shinann, Ilsola says, "I would suggest, given her known alliance, that she would have been treated extremely poorly... and then killed."

Shinann says, "Thank you."

Speaking to you, Alisette says, "True, she was not open to my offer."

Chamorr heartily says, "And when we do see her she does have scars."

Faerinn says, "Which helps telling them apart."

You whisper aloud, "I still just use height to distinguish..."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "Yer all rather short."

Speaking softly to Chamorr, Razanetika exclaims, "Heh.. I resemble that remark!"

You curiously say, "Does anyone else have further thoughts on this? Obviously we'll keep battling this army until a victory, in whatever form that comes."

You say, "We might have run the well dry on how far we can speculate or strategize given what we know right now."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "Did Vlassy say when this ritual is gonna happen."

Speaking to Chamorr, you say, "Tonight, I believe."

Speaking to you, Ilsola offers, "Mist Harbor will offer any aid we can, though that is likely to be informational rather than tactical."

Tennalnen says, "Just that someone should find a way to gather more information about our enemies."

Rohese softly interjects, "Ritual?"

Speaking to Ilsola, you offer, "Is there anything any of us can do likewise to aid you?"

Razanetika softly says, "We need more knowledge or intel or maybe fruit."

Speaking appreciatively to Ilsola, you add, "And thank you, as we do welcome any help from allies here."

Thuunk asks, "Fruit?"

Speaking heartily to Rohese, Chamorr says, "Yes, they is gonna open the valence and release all da demons."

Speaking offhandedly to Rohese, you say, "There's an unrelated ritual tonight to--"

Faerinn says, "A motive for the Fists handlers would be great."

Speaking to you, Ilsola says, "I thank you for the offer, but for now it seems the troubles have come to roost on your porches. We are happy to assist in any way we can, and trust the assistance will not be forgotten, should we require assistance in the future."

Speaking hurriedly to Rohese, you say, "We're hopefully not doing that, I think."

Speaking unconvincingly to Rohese, you say, "Probably."

Raelee abruptly says, "I have another question."

Speaking softly to Thuunk, Razanetika says, "It helps the body and mind be stronger."

Speaking softly to Ilsola, Rohese offers, "I am happy to act as liaison for you here, if you wish with the help of Faerinn and Akenna."

Speaking graciously to Ilsola, you say, "Thank you. We'll certainly be looking to hear from you and yours, including Loremaster Rohese and others."

Speaking curiously to Raelee, you ask, "And yes?"

Speaking softly to Thuunk, Razanetika exclaims, "Thank you sweetly!"

Raelee slowly asks, "... operating under the assumption that Socius either is the Fist or is working for the Fist - why is this town being attacked? As opposed to... anywhere else?"

Alisette affirms, "Back to Why."

Shinann says, "That is what is bothering me... the why."

Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn says, "My first guess was to recapture and punish the deserter."

Speaking to Raelee, you muse, "I would think because their army isn't large enough yet to attack elsewhere, but it's just speculation."

Speaking softly to Raelee, Rohese agrees, "That has been my position from the outset."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "Good question."

Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn says, "As to why they continue attacking. No clue."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "Ya know."

Ilsola quietly says, "Sadly, I have no insight into that. Socius always considered Mist Harbor his home... almost to a fault. I can't recall him leaving except in support of his town."

Speaking to Raelee, Thuunk says, "Past experience would suggest they attack the Landing because it is here."

You reasonedly say, "We haven't heard of them attacking anywhere else, so I think the attacks on the Landing are a sort of--trial run for them."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "That's twice in one week i agreed with Raelee."

You say, "And the creatures they use change each time. They're experimenting."

Speaking softly to Ilsola, Rohese says, "His appearing in Ta'Illistim came as quite a surprise."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "True story."

Speaking to Chamorr, Raelee says, "I do endeavor to be correct as often as I can."

Chamorr heartily says, "Or they is waitin fer the valence to open."

You say, "Last night's attack was by far their most successful yet. No matter what their motives, they're growing stronger."

Alisette says, "Aye, vast numbers died."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "Cause i went to bed early."

You add, "And the interesting thing is that that in the attack just the day before, they were too scared to obey their masters and charge on us."

Akenna says, "No mercenaries either."

You state, "In other words... they're learning, and we're their testing ground."

Faerinn says, "Or the shrill lady had trouble controlling them for some other reason."

Akenna says, "It's like they disappeared."

Speaking to Akenna, you say, "Yes, none since the very first attack..."

You grimly say, "Maybe they've harvested from their own mercenaries and they're now the spiders."

You waggle your fingers mystically.

Akenna says, "Probably."

Strands of translucent webbing flow across the back of Alisaire's hands...

You slowly say, "...not sure I should joke about that, actually. That might be just it."

Speaking to Ilsola, Faerinn asks, "Think of something?"

Eugenides plainly asks, "If their tactics are adapting, shouldn't yours?"

Chamorr heartily says, "Or they is trying to improve their forces."

Tennalnen says, "Well, this has been insightful."

Speaking to Eugenides, you affirm, "Oh, we are. We've changed quite a bit in the--amazingly enough--just one week they've been attacking."

Speaking to you, Tennalnen says, "Thank you for holding this meeting."

Speaking neutrally to Faerinn, Ilsola says, "Just... taken aback. I had not heard many of the details of what has been going on here."

You say, "Our triage has moved, our siege towers have been rebuilt..."

Speaking to Ilsola, Tennalnen says, "Thank you for coming."

Speaking appreciatively to Tennalnen, you say, "And thank you for being here."

Speaking to Ilsola, Faerinn says, "Its grim."

Speaking to you, Eugenides notes, "Stances and stands are still unchanged, clumping up at the gates."

Tennalnen says, "Everyone have a good evening, and stay safe."

Speaking to Tennalnen, Ilsola says, "It was good to see you again, Lord Tennalnen."

Speaking to Tennalnen, you wish, "And to you!"

Speaking to Chamorr, Thuunk says, "Raelee is always right. Owly makes it so."

Speaking to Raelee, you agree, "It all makes sense now."

Speaking to Ilsola, Faerinn says, "Thank you for your presence and sharing tonight."

Speaking heartily to Thuunk, Chamorr says, "Cept when shes busy defendin da empire."

Ilsola says, "I'm happy to have helped, if indeed I have done so."

Speaking earnestly to Ilsola, you say, "You've given us more clarity and direction, certainly. Thank you, truly."

Speaking respectfully to Ilsola, Rohese says, "You're presence is always welcomed and your opinion valued."

Speaking earnestly to you, Ilsola says, "Please do not hesitate to send me a message should we be able to assist you in any way."

Speaking warmly to Rohese, Alisette says, "As is yours, Ma'am."

Speaking heartily to Ilsola, Chamorr says, "Pleasure to meetchya."

Speaking appreciatively to Alisette, Rohese says, "Thank you."

Speaking appreciatively to Ilsola, you affirm, "Thank you. We shall!"

Speaking heartily to Rohese, Chamorr says, "Good to see ya."

Speaking softly to Chamorr, Rohese says, "Thank you."

Shinann says, "Excuse me, please."

Shinann bows.

Shinann just went out.

You curiously inquire, "On that note, would anyone else like to raise any further points, discuss anything else, and so on?"

Speaking softly to Chamorr, Rohese says, "It's been a while and I always appreciate the welcome I receive."

You say, "Shinann's always in such a hurry."

You coyly say, "Not that I should be one to talk, I guess."

Ilsola quietly says, "I shall head back to the Isle and see if I may find anything that might help bring more clarity. If I do, I will certainly send word."

Speaking softly to you, Razanetika says, "Goddess speedy."

Speaking gratefully to Ilsola, you say, "Thank you and well met. Safe travels to you."

Speaking to Akenna, Alisette says, "Thank you for your help."

Ilsola wanders off.

Speaking to Alisette, Akenna says, "Oh, of course."

Speaking to Alisaire, Akenna says, "I'm happy to help."

You whisper aloud, "And to think we didn't even tell her about the leopard-headed ogres and such."

Speaking softly to you, Rohese offers, "I propose to stay west for a while and you can reach me through House Sylvanfair."

Chamorr heartily says, "Nice."

Faerinn says, "Also I'm not the hardest to find or get word to."

Speaking appreciatively to Rohese, you say, "Thank you, we'll try to be in touch."

Rohese playfully mouths, "Greth's."

Chamorr heartily says, "Safe travels."

Akenna sighs, "Vodka sounds good right now."

You pour yourself a tall shot of cherry vodka.

You offer your cherry vodka to Akenna, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Click CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer.

Akenna has accepted your offer and is now holding a tall shot of cherry vodka.

Akenna exclaims, "Oh!"

Thuunk says, "May the Great Gnoll watch over you all."

Speaking to Rohese, Faerinn says, "Sometimes. '."

Speaking to you, Akenna says, "Thank you."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "Someone said the mayor is buyin sweets."

Speaking to Eugenides, Akenna says, "Thank you too."

You say, "Seems we're wrapping up, then--it makes sense this was the main concern on everyone's mind this week."

You say, "Thank you all for coming here, and your interest as always."

Speaking to Eugenides, Alisaire says, "I have already eaten."

Speaking to you, Akenna says, "Thank you for holding this."

Speaking to you, Alisette says, "Mayor, I will see you soon."

Speaking warmly to Alisette, you say, "And tonight, I hope."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "Learned a lot."

Speaking to you, Faerinn asks, "And Vlashandra's first ritual is tonight?"

Speaking appreciatively to Eugenides, Rohese says, "Thank you but no."

Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "As far as I know, yes."

Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Unless she's run into any snags in her research."

Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "I'll try to be there. Though I have no essences and possibly the worst blood to use."

Speaking tentatively to Alisaire, Rohese requests, "May I speak with you a moment?"

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "Aint givin any blood."

Speaking to Alisaire, Alisette says, "I hope this was not too much inconvenience for you today. At least it is a warm welcome you receive."

Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Mine would be very poor to use too--I have no intention of giving it, but will defend the spot with my life."

Alisaire offhandedly says, "A mild inconvenience, I suppose."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "But I'll be there to release ya when ya grow tentacles."

Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "I'm sure she needs everyone she can get."

Speaking to Rohese, Alisaire says, "Certainly."

Eugenides reminds, "There are vials of blood for sale on a cart in town."

(Rohese steps to the corner of the room and beckons Alisaire over.)

Speaking tentatively to Chamorr, you say, "I don't *think* I'll be looking like Kragnack any time soon, no."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "Ya nevah know."

Speaking quietly to Alisaire, Rohese says, "You may recall that I wrote to you sometime ago."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "Tenacles and horns."

Speaking to Rohese, Alisaire says, "Indeed."

Speaking to Chamorr, you say, "I do need to write a brief letter to Vlashandra explaining why using my blood would be a terrible idea. Eight hours until then, at least, so no rush."

Speaking softly to Alisaire, Rohese says, "I am hoping you might allow me access to your library for a brief time."

Speaking to you, Raelee asks, "Why not simply refuse?"

Speaking to Raelee, you explain, "Because that might hurt her feelings."

Speaking to Rohese, Alisaire asks, "Is there something in particular you are looking for?"

Faerinn says, "I don't have much of an explanation as to why."

Faerinn says, "I'm a half elf from Talador."

Chamorr heartily says, "Dang."

You say, "For some reason, I think I'm one of the only people who intends to be at Vlashandra's ritual who actually kind of likes her as a person."

Speaking to Rohese, Alisaire says, "Perhaps we can continue this elsewhere."

Faerinn says, "Self explanatory."

Speaking relievedly to Alisaire, Rohese says, "If you don't mind."

Speaking softly to Alisaire, Rohese says, "Let's step outside a moment."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "Have ya ever heard of her afore."

You add, "And I want her to succeed in this and we'll bring back Aralyte."

Speaking to Chamorr, you say, "Nope, but I kind of like her anyway."

Faerinn says, "And there does the darkness."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "Has she lied about the Pylasar trial."

Speaking to Chamorr, you say, "Well, she had to or Octaven would have done--who even knows what to her."

Faerinn asks, "Have a good ritual everyone if I can't make it?"

Speaking to Chamorr, you say, "I can understand that part. I was saying from the start that her question dodging and such wasn't really her fault and was Octaven's."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "What zackly has she done for you to install yer faith in her."

Eugenides notes, "Faith in a person and liking a person are two different things."

Speaking amusedly to Chamorr, you say, "Now hold on, I didn't say I have faith in her."

You say, "I have no idea why she thinks she's experienced enough to run this ritual."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "You ready to open yer veins fer her."

Speaking to Chamorr, you reiterate, "No, I just said I'm not giving blood for this one."

You say, "I'll defend the spot from whatever attacks us, though."

Eugenides sagely says, "Ears are for listening."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "And fer the town to do so also."

You say, "Though I will say someone raised a good point the other night, that blood magic rituals tend to attract Grishom Stone's attention."

Raelee says, "... the town has no blood. The blood belongs to the individuals and their choices are their own."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr asks, "Has ya said to the town, this is a bad idea?"

Eugenides repeats, "There are literally vials of blood for sale on a cart in town."

Speaking to Chamorr, you say, "I don't think it's a bad idea. I have no idea if it'll work, but it's not really a bad idea to me."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "Then."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "One you trust that she knows what shes doin."

Speaking plainly to Raelee, Eugenides asks, "What do you think about what is to occur tonight?"

Speaking to Eugenides, you say, "Good question."

Speaking to Eugenides, Raelee says, "I am curious to observe."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "And two, you trust her intentions as stated."

Speaking understandingly to Raelee, Eugenides says, "Absorb the experience."

Speaking to Chamorr, you say, "I trust her intentions, not so sure she has the experience."

Speaking to Eugenides, Raelee says, "I am not offering blood."

Speaking to Chamorr, you say, "I really hope Balley, Stormyrain, and others are there."

Chamorr heartily says, "See, I don't understand."

You say, "Blood mages who I *do* trust know what they're doing."

Speaking to Chamorr, you say, "In other words, I think Vlashandra means well but I'm not sure she can pull this off."

Speaking to Eugenides, Raelee says, "That is not something I am willing to do freely - regardless of who is asking."

Speaking to Raelee, Eugenides asks, "Will you tell me about it if you survive the experience?"

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr asks, "The Hall doesn't go in for this blood magic, right?"

Speaking to Raelee, Eugenides says, "I probably shouldn't be anywhere near it."

Speaking to Eugenides, Raelee states, "Yes."

Speaking to Chamorr, Raelee says, "No."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "I thought they was against it."

Speaking to Chamorr, Raelee says, "Correct."

You say, "That's why it's just Vlashandra doing this with no Hall support."

You add, "...that we know of."

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "But some mage from the Hall is gonna flick around with it."

Speaking to Chamorr, you say, "That does remind me..."

Chamorr heartily says, "It stinks."

Speaking to Raelee, you say, "Is she even a Magister? Some have assumed she is, but as far as I know she's never said so."

Speaking to you, Raelee says, "She is of the Hall."

You ask, "But not everyone of the Hall is a Magister, are they?"

Speaking to you, Raelee says, "Correct."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr asks, "Is she a Magister?"

Raelee repeats, "She is of the Hall."

Eugenides thoughtfully wonders, "I wonder what the Arcanum would do?"

Chamorr heartily says, "See."

Speaking to Eugenides, Raelee says, "The Arcanum would have no quarrels with this."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "You dont know, or wont tell."

Raelee curiously asks, "What changes if she is or is not?"

You acknowledge, "I just figured that if she were a Magister, I could have a little more faith in her abilities."

Chamorr heartily says, "Well, if three months ago she was sweepin the floor and today shes performin blood rituals."

Raelee offers, "Consider Malvernus. He is not."

Chamorr heartily says, "I spose it dont matter."

You say, "His talents are recognized in other ways, though. ...but on the other hand, it's true that sometimes people have promise even before they're recognized."

Chamorr heartily says, "Oh my goodness."

Speaking hopefully to you, Eugenides asks, "Like me?"

Speaking to Eugenides, you exclaim, "Indeed!"

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "You were right again."

Speaking sadly to you, Eugenides says, "Ouch."

Speaking to Chamorr, Raelee says, "I know."

Raelee says, "... if you will excuse me."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "Quite unnerving actually."

Speaking to Chamorr, Raelee asks, "Why?"

Speaking to you, Eugenides asks, "I missed most of what was discussed today. Has anyone skinned samples of the invading force?"

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "Cause yer usually wrong."

Speaking to Eugenides, you say, "We've tried, but their bodies just--aren't really amenable to it."

You vaguely say, "Decaying too rapidly and such..."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "Have a pleasant afternoon."

Speaking to Chamorr, Raelee counters, "You typically disagree with me. Matters of opinion are not always based in right and wrong - truths there can be quite subjective."

Raelee says, "... and good afternoon."

You say, "Indeed, have a good afternoon all. I'll likely see you tonight, but I have preparations to make for tonight."

Chamorr heartily says, "We can agree to disagree."

Eugenides uncertainly asks, "Guess I'll leave?"

Speaking heartily to you, Chamorr says, "Buy me candy."

Speaking to Chamorr, you say, "See ya tonight, Bear."

You say, "Hmm..."

Chamorr heartily says, "Nahh."

You ask about the price of a cherry and apple candy ribbon.

You draw closer to Krythussa in a friendly way, sharing a few bits of local gossip to draw her out a bit before getting down to business. Perhaps the tactic worked, for she knocked some off to reach the final price of 90 silvers.

Krythussa says, "Since you're a citizen of this town, I'll drop the price to 81."

Krythussa exclaims, "Sold for 81 silvers!"

Krythussa takes the 81 silvers you offer in payment.

She hands you a cherry and apple candy ribbon and says, "Here's your purchase. Thanks for your patronage."

You offer your apple candy ribbon to Chamorr, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Click CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer.

Chamorr heartily says, "Kiddin."

Chamorr has accepted your offer and is now holding a cherry and apple candy ribbon.

Chamorr heartily says, "Nice."

You exclaim, "Enjoy!"

You exclaim, "And see ya tonight!"
