Section 5a: MHO Hall General Information

Auditorium Rentals

MHO Officers have the option of reserving meeting rooms in advance in their home Halls. To do so, enter the room you wish to reserve and type REQUEST to see the usage instructions. You may only have one room reserved at a time, though you are welcome to hold a meeting in an unused room at any time.

  1. REQUEST <date> <time>: Requests your current room for reservation.
    • Date must be in the format YYYYMMDD
    • Time must be in the format HH:MM (Central time, 24 hr.)
    • Example: request 20021104 22:30
    • This will reserve the room you are currently in, starting at the specified date and time, and ending two hours later. Only group officers can request reservations, and no more than one reservation can be held at one time for a particular group. Reservations can only be made in your group's home town.
  2. REQUEST CLEAR: Clears your current reservation.

Blackboards

Outside each Meeting Hall in every town is a large notice board. Officers may post information here about the activities of their group.

  1. WRITE BOARD <text>: Adds a message.
  2. CLEAN BOARD: Removes your group's message.
  3. READ BOARD or LOOK BOARD: Displays current messages from all groups.

Endowments

Only Officers may deposit funds into their group's endowments. Members must give any donations to officers. Officers can keep track of their group's endowment by speaking with the NPC outside of each Meeting Hall, or the clerk inside each Meeting Hall.

Funds cannot be withdrawn once deposited.

Funds will automatically be used when groups purchase prizes or items from the Hall's Supply Room or from the Officer Prize Closets. They will also be automatically deducted when a group rents a tent, rents a cart, or uses a Crier.

If a group decides to no longer be active, they can choose to donate their endowment to another existing group.

Guest Passes

Guest Passes are able to be purchased from the NPC outside of every Meeting Hall. They are designed to allow non-members, with the pass in their hand, to enter member-only areas within the Meeting Halls, or a group's permanent structure.

The cost of each engraved vellum guest pass is 500 coins.

  1. ASK "NPC" ABOUT PASS: Asks the NPC to issue a membership pass. You must ask again within 30 seconds to be issued the pass. You must be an officer.

Membership Insignias

MHO Officers can request that a crest, insignia, or other such item be built to their specifications. This crest can take almost any form, though it cannot hold other items. It can be given a long base or a show description, although that will increase the price. The standard guidelines provided in ALTER still apply. They can be wearable.

This crest will be set out for permanent sale in your hometown MHO Hall's Supply Shop (also known as the Public Prize Closet), where only members will be able to purchase them. If you would prefer to allow only group officers to purchase the crests (either for their own use or to pass along to members), you can request that.

The Hall Steward's one-time fee for setting up these items is 75,000 silvers, which will be withdrawn from your group's endowment at the time of set-up.

When you are ready and wish to set up a crest, please send an email to GS4-MHO@play.net with the following information:

  • The name of your group
  • Your group's home town
  • The basic description of your crest (15/15/15)
  • How you'd like it worn, if applicable
  • Additional description if desired (longer base or show)
  • Availability (all members/just officers)
  • Name/Email address of requestor

All requests are subject to approval, and prices will be set based on materials and complexity.

Officer Plaques

Outside of each Meeting Hall in every town, is a plaque. Simply READ the plaque to see a listing of every group in that town, their Tier status and the names of their current officers.
