Opened in 5104 northwest of the North Gate of Wehnimer's Landing, the Museum of Weapons and Armor featured a variety of historically relevant armaments.

[A Tree-Lined Walkway]
The branches of two rows of carefully trimmed monir trees form an arch overhead, shading the flagstone walkway. The flat stones at your feet form geometric patterns leading up to a wrought iron fence surrounded by a variety of flowering bushes, and several carved stone benches are set along the sides of the walkway. You also see a wrought iron gate with a brass plaque mounted on it.

[Courtyard]
Drakes surrounded by fluffy clouds are etched upon all sides of an elaborate fountain and basin that dominates the courtyard. Rising from the center and spewing a continuous stream of water up into the air from its open maw, is a finely detailed bronze drake with outstretched wings. Towering behind the fountain and flanked by two ancient monir trees is an expansive, ivy-covered manor house. Polished wide marble steps lead to the opened arched doorway. You also see a wrought iron gate.

Covering the floor are squares of black marble polished to sheer perfection and the superb luster gives the impression of being more like a black liquid than stone. Cast upon the mirror-like surface of the floor is a perfect reflection of the crystal chandelier hanging overhead. Soft tinkling sounds emanate from the crystals as it sways gently back and forth from its chain, created by the breeze of the opened doorway. An impressive statue of Rone Wehnimer nearly blocks a massive iron arch.

Speckled marble benches line the walls and are placed so that they provide adequate viewing of the booths that contain various food items. An ivory-inlaid doorway leading to the museums curator's office is tucked away behind a glass display case, in which an odd assortment of knickknacks are kept to be used as treasured keepsakes. Mounted on the wall above the benches is a stone tablet.

Sunlight pours through the half-dozen stained glaes windows, casting a reddish tint over the entire room. Enclosed behind heavy, rectangular glass display cases standing atop identical white marble pedestals are ancient sets of brigandine, hauberk, augmented breastplate, and full plate armor. Speckled marble columns reaching from floor to ceiling divide the room in half, separating the glass casements. Thick braided rope strung between metal poles, keep the overly curious from venturing near the exhibits.

Detailed wooden mannequins wearing a variety of leather armor and robes stand behind glass screens to keep them safe. Dressed the way they are, with their well made uniforms, the mannequins resemble real soldiers standing at attention. Globed lanterns create a series of dancing shadows along the walls and further enhance the illusion that the mannequins are sentient beings.

Heavy blue watered silk tapestries embroidered with a scattering of silver-threaded crescent moons and stars decorate the walls and block the windows. Rectangular displays enclosed with glass holds a variety of edged weapons. Along the back wall, an assortment of throwing weapons dangle from an old throwing net. Several handblown glass lanterns are deliberately positioned on tall metal poles designed to provide sufficient lighting for viewing the various exhibits.

A bronze replica of a forge, complete with hammer, tongs, and a blacksmith, resides along the back wall. Supported by metal brackets in the ceiling, an intricately designed, fringed banner drapes down above the forge, and billows softly from a barely palpable breeze. Hanging on the three remaining walls from sturdy wooden pegs, shiny metal bolts, and some thick metal rivets is a vast assortment of shields, polearms, and two-handed weapons, and protected behind thin sheets of glaes. Brass flowerpots flank the sides of a wide staircase.

Interrupted by the staircase, a wrought iron railing runs the entire length on the upper level of the gallery. The brilliant glare of the sun creates a rainbow of cascading colors, as it shines through the iridescent domed skylight above. An amazing collection of masks and armets hang on metal pegs that protrude from the walls.

Standing near the railing, the entire ground level of the showroom can be viewed from this vantage point of the gallery. A wide curving staircase leads back down to the main floor. Emanating from the iridescent, domed skylight above, golden sunlight creates a rainbow of cascading colors. Streaks of colors rain down over an antique thanot wood cabinet containing a few brawling weapons set securely behind heavy, etched glass doors.

Additional Information

The museum is no longer in its original location. It is unclear if any displays were moved to another museum or if the museum closed. It's possible that the displays were moved during the Wehnimer's Landing museum renovation of 2011.
