Ed. Note

Prepared for subjects of the inquisition who were unable to view it from the outside. As such, it begins once seating has occurred.

Bolded lines occurred within the inquisition chamber and are unredacted. All other text is from the southernmost observation room and has been trimmed to reduce size and improve readability, while attempting to retain as much context as possible. In a small number of cases, text from the observation room was grouped together to improve readability, and is thus out of its original order with respect to nearby inquisition room text.

Jaranzair

[Observation Room]

Haon-framed chairs of burnt plum velvet are arranged before the silver-washed railing, their brush-shaped legs resting against the marbled ivory floor. Heavy curtains are draped across the ceiling-high windows, obscuring the light through layers of lilac-on-aubergine brocade, the fabric pooling below a lacquered heartwood table affixed in the far corner. A spherical silver lantern emanates a soft glow across the table's surface, providing a faint modicum of light. You also see the Aliashyrah disk, the malachite Jadedragan disk, a tiny angular lilac-point kitten, a massive grey wolf, the sparking Dendum disk, a happy forest spirit that is flying around, a volatile wasteland spirit that is flying around, a ruby-crested greater bearded vulture, a fluffy white cat and a silver-gilt staircase wrought into overlapping feathers.

Also here: Carew, Lord Thrassus, Queatus, High Lord Grutak, Faerinn, Envoy Lilanna, Lottei, Cefira, Lady Aliashyrah, Lord Sorlu, Jiarine, Jadedragan, Blade Yardie, Draelor, Seneschal Dendum, Meril who is sitting, Lady Ysaeril, Land Pirate Maylan who is sitting, Tikba who is sitting, Krienos, Lady Elaejia, Warchief Archales who is sitting, Earthdiver, Seaward Gutstorm, Imperatrix Lylia, Sir Guarrin, High Lord Alastir, Kalyrra, Perigourd

Obvious exits: northeast, northwest

Ciradyl nervously asks, "Pardon me, but could our invited guests please follow me to the waiting chamber?"

You turn around.

You join Ciradyl.

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine asks, "Can I come? I was not given an invite?"

Jadedragan grins at you.

Speaking to Ciradyl, you ask, "Define invited?"

Speaking embarrassedly to you, Ciradyl asks, "Are you here at the Inquisitors' invitation?"

You say, "Personal, or as a friend of the accu-"

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine sighs, "For once I missed a ball where someone died."

You ask, "She in question?"

You leave Ciradyl's group.

Queatus grins.

You say, "I gather the former."

Jadedragan whistles tunelessly to himself.

Ciradyl embarrassedly murmurs, "Pardon me."

Speaking to you, Jadedragan exclaims, "You get to hang out here with us low-lifes. Have some whiskey!"

Tikba quietly moves her chair closer to the silver-washed railing as she sits down.

Jadedragan grins at you.

You feel a grin spreading across your face, the thick fabric of your cowl touching your cheeks.

Tikba glances appraisingly at Maylan.

Sorlu nods understandingly at Grutak.

Dendum offers Grutak a tumbler of Woodland Green whiskey.

Tikba gestures.

There is a bright flash and a tiered honey-infused flatbread appears in the air, then falls to the ground.

Maylan glances at Tikba.

Tikba picks up a tiered honey-infused flatbread.

Maylan's eyes grow dim and unfocused as she gazes at Tikba with a slack-jawed grin.

Maylan gobbles down a big bite of her honey-infused flatbread.

Tikba smiles at Maylan.

Maylan gobbles down her honey-infused flatbread in one enormous bite.

Tikba nods approvingly at Maylan.

Speaking politely to Grutak, Yardie suggests, "A bit of advice. Something I've learned in some of my relationships. Never underestimate the strength and capability of a woman. To put it simply, she can handle herself."

Maylan nods at Lylia.

Inquisitor Eshenesra just wandered up a silver-gilt staircase wrought into overlapping feathers.

Faerinn says, "I thought Erurien was today...."

Faerinn says, "I have not seen him come through."

A sudden belch erupts from Maylan's mouth.

Furrowing his brow in thought, Guarrin strokes absently at his greased neatly trimmed, full beard.

Tikba murmurs, "Are the inquisitors seeking someone here in the observation area?"

Guarrin shrugs slightly at Tikba.

Speaking to Tikba, Perigourd says, "It does seem so."

Archales leans against a haon-framed plum velvet chair.

Lucrecea seems less resolute.

Lucrecea's movements no longer appear to be influenced by a divine power as the spiritual force fades from around her arms.

Inquisitor Eshenesra's group just wandered up a silver-gilt staircase wrought into overlapping feathers.

Speaking to Tikba, Guarrin notes, "It seems so."

Jiarine leans against a scrollworked silver-washed railing.

Speaking to you, Jadedragan says, "Just remember, the way to engender trust in the system, is to hide that system behind closed doors."

Jadedragan nods to you.

Faerinn yells, "Has someone been sent to fetch the Living Canvas?"

Jiarine folds her arms across her chest, tapping her foot impatiently.

Ysaeril furrows her brow.

You dryly remark, "Out of sight, out of mind."

Envoy Lilanna just arrived.

Speaking to Faerinn, Yardie asks, "The living canvas?"

Speaking to Jadedragan, Grutak says, "That's typical of the Elves. Hide the truth so that people can't know what's going on. Centralize power."

You see Faerinn Greatsinger the Insightful.

He appears to be a Half-Elf from Talador.

Covering his head is a gilt-edged wide brimmed hat, glittering argent beads cascading from its brim. The beads form a curtain of silver hanging around her head.

He is of a towering height and has a balletic body. He appears to be very young. He has curved, long-lashed sea green eyes and lightly tanned skin. He has long, curly honey blonde hair and a gilt-edged wide brimmed hat trailing beads and ribbons worn at a rakish angle. He has a long, angular face, a thin nose and a patch of honey blonde stubble across his jawline and cleft chin.

He has a tattoo of snarling opossum hunched over a bloody scrap of meat on his wrist, and an ebon-veined gold bar set with a single shadow amethyst in the upper ridge of his left ear.

He is in good shape.

He is wearing a silver collar chain fastened with a pair of white soulstones, a fitted fuchsia cotton coat with an ivory pocket square, a double-breasted fuchsia cotton vest buttoned in imflass over a gradiated sunset-hued silk shirt patterned with a hibiscus motif, a black bracelet, some fuchsia cotton pants secured with silver buttons, a pair of verdant selshis skin shoes stacked on jade heels, and a pair of gilt-accented electrum spurs.

Ysaeril frowns at Grutak.

Earthdiver stomps down hard with one of his black boots.

Speaking to Yardie, Faerinn says, "He's from Loenthra and a suspect who is speaking today."

Perigourd says, "If they wanted to hide anything, we wouldn't be here to watch."

Dendum asks, "Watch what?"

You quietly whisper to Faerinn, "Council, sir, can you tell me if we're going to be allowed to witness the questioning?"

Perigourd says, "The inquiry, I expect."

Dendum says, "Everyone is behind some door or another."

Faerinn whispers, "Only from here apparently."

Speaking lightly to Grutak, Ysaeril says, "I take issue with your statements."

Speaking to Ysaeril, Grutak says, "Good for you. Join the crowd."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Meybe day playin shpin da bottle."

Guarrin grumbles to himself.

Yardie taps Ysaeril lightly on her shoulder.

Speaking to Grutak, Alastir says, "For such a large man, I would think there would be more in that head of yours."

Archales snickers.

Speaking in Elven to Ysaeril, Jiarine says, "You would have more luck talking to a rock than getting anything through his... brainpan."

Speaking to Alastir, Grutak says, "Who says there's not."

Speaking to Ysaeril, Yardie says, "He's....tempermental. Not enough snow cones at home."

Speaking to Grutak, Alastir says, "Your behavior."

Speaking to Grutak, Jadedragan says, "Peace for now Grutak, we're all concerned."

Faerinn says, "We can watch here by watching through the railing."

The scrollworked railing has been cast in pale silver, the flourishes and curves allowing one to WATCH the chamber below.

Archales holds up his hand and tilts it side to side in a so-so gesture.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dere no one down dere doh."

Archales says, "The view is so so to be honest."

Gutstorm leans against a scrollworked silver-washed railing.

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie says, "It's going to be fine."

Gutstorm trips over something and lands right in front of Archales.

Speaking to Alastir, Jadedragan says, "I'd remind you that not all of us are a part of, nor wish to follow the traditions of this court."

Gazing into the railing, you see...

[The Mirrored Chamber]

The open-air chamber is framed in a quartet of mirrored walls, the partitions casting reflected images of the heavy-handled doors flanked by silver-throated vases filled with pale irises. An elongated table of lacquered glowbark stands at the center of the room, the desk encircled by a grouping of silk-cushioned chairs, each one facing the blued imflass door set below the observation railings above. A single scale of electrum-chained cloisonne sits in the middle of the table, its surface traced in a feather-like motif.

Obvious exits: none

Speaking quietly in Elven to herself, Ysaeril ponders, "I wonder if such arrogance can lead to shorter lifespans. It must be terribly difficult on one's heart."

Faerinn yells, "Has anyone seen the Living Canvas today he was supposed to be here? Can someone check hits suite-cell?"

Crossing his arms over his chest, Perigourd sighs in annoyance and rolls his umber eyes.

Tikba gazes in amusement at Ysaeril.

Seaward Gutstorm just stumbled in, flailing his arms wildly while trying to right himself!

Gutstorm joins Lylia's group.

Speaking quietly to Queatus, you ask, "How far a drop you think?"

Speaking to Alastir, Jadedragan says, "We're not trying to be antagonistic, but it's hard to be completely polite when a friend is held somewhere for questioning without us being able to see what's happening."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Da guard no let me in."

Lylia nods at Ysaeril.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Alastir says, "I'd be satisfied with a modicum of civility as a guest in our house."

Speaking to you, Grutak says, "Not enough to worry about."

Speaking mildly in Elven to Ysaeril, Tikba agrees, "Arrogance can indeed be dangerous."

Queatus grins at you.

Ysaeril nods knowingly at Tikba.

Guarrin glances between Tikba and Ysaeril.

Speaking to Yardie, Dendum remarks, ""Hrmm...they do like the feathers."

Raising your arms slightly, you arch your back and gently let your head rock back in a relaxing stretch.

You lean against a scrollworked silver-washed railing.

Queatus surveys his surroundings carefully.

Gutstorm waves to Yardie.

Gutstorm shakes Yardie's hand enthusiastically.

Speaking to Alastir, Jadedragan says, "Then maybe ask the needed questions in the light of a public space? Be much easier to be polite if we can see someones safety in person."

Gutstorm reaches out and takes Yardie's hand, shaking it vigorously. Suddenly a loud *bzzzzzzzzzt* emanates from their clasped hands! Yardie's arm vibrates wildly, causing him to jump and his eyes to grow wide!

Inquisitor Eshenesra's group just came through a multi-locked blued imflass door.

Ysaeril sighs.

Aliashyrah says, "I believe it will be starting soon."

You see Lady Ysaeril Illistim the Master Painter.

She appears to be an Elf.

She is of a middling height and has a slender build. She appears to be youthful. She has long-lashed vibrant violet eyes and fair skin. She has long, shiny pale blonde hair swept back from the face in an inverse chignon by a crinkle chain vaalin geldaralad interlaced with lace-like blossoms. She has a delicate face, a small nose and a narrow chin that matches the cleft between her slender clavicles. She has onyx-flecked crystal clear enamel brushed onto her smooth, oval fingernails.

A scintillating grid of silver and gold energy glows brightly beneath her.

She is in good shape.

She is holding a forest-inked teacup of evergreen tea in her right hand.

She is wearing a sprig of mournbloom, a chunky marble-knit scarf of cream and pale grey wool, a back-laced matte ecru leather corset over a cape-sleeved warm grey silk bliaut with an asymmetric hem, an anemone-stamped cloisonne signet, a gold filigree keyring, and some petite pewter paeline slippers on modest stacked heels.

Aliashyrah points at a scrollworked silver-washed railing.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Alastir says, "You'll have to take that up with the Inquisitors, who aren't here to listen to the drivel."

Ciradyl clears her throat loudly.

Faerinn glances over at Ysaeril and winces.

Guarrin joins Lylia's group.

Speaking to Jaranzair, Eshenesra asks, "Lord Legionairre Comander, would you please take a seat?"

Jaranzair glances at a pavonated silk-cushioned chair.

Lady Ysaeril just went northwest.

Dendum asks, "Oh good they are starting with the...spy yes?"

Grutak says, "The only thing that matters to me is that my people are treated with respect and dignity. Saying they are "charging" them isn't such."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Traiva make deez fer me."

(Yardie flexes his hand and glares at Gutstorm.)

Jaranzair responds, "If I must."

Faerinn says, "They are taking in their first person and no one seems available to check on him..."

Perigourd chuckles to himself.

Jaranzair slowly approaches the silk-cushioned chair, his steps echoing against the marble floor as he sits down.

Gutstorm grunts happily, grinning.

Eshenesra nods once.

Jaranzair rests his hands on his knees, an even expression on his face.

Tikba nods understandingly at Guarrin.

Syearris glances at Eshenesra.

Aliashyrah quietly moves her chair closer to the silver-washed railing as she sits down.

Speaking to Alastir, Jadedragan says, "If you're going to insist on others caring about your traditions, maybe have some understanding for someone's chosen partner being held somewhere we can't see, with only a promise of safety to tide them over."

Aliashyrah leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, a thoughtful expression on her face.

Lylia leans forward.

Gutstorm slurs, "Danksh."

Speaking to Alastir, Jadedragan says, "Put in that light, maybe there's a reason for a short temper and a lack of decorum."

Gutstorm pushes on Lylia without much success.

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine argues, "Maybe he should have more faith in his partner."

Ciradyl glances up at the crowd.

Maylan waves.

Maylan blurts, "Hi Ciradyl!"

Aliashyrah quietly murmurs, "I do believe they perhaps wish for us to remain a bit less opinionated and loud."

Speaking to Jiarine, Dendum remarks, ""Well...maybe if they had a better track record of ensuring safety yes?"

Lylia blinks.

Speaking to Jiarine, Yardie says, "I have to agree with you, though that might also make you upset."

Ciradyl nervously announces, "Ladies, Lords, and esteemed guests of the Hall of Justice, on behalf of the Inquisitors, we welcome you to our public inquiry."

Jiarine smirks.

Grutak snorts!

Ciradyl gazes in the direction of Syearris and smirks slightly.

Ciradyl meekly reminds, "We must once again reinforce that we are simply seeking answers, no detail too small for our Inquisitors, for each piece of information is vital in our quest for truth. Those invited to our here today are not accused of the horrors of Fashantos the 4th, but their accounts may help bring justice for the soul of Lady Kasendra Malwind."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Lylia murmurs, "Where are you shoving me?"

Eshenesra frowns at Ciradyl.

Ciradyl politely concludes, "And with that, we would request that every one present practice the decorum that we have come to know within the Shining City. The pursuit of knowledge is truly never a calm voyage across the waters, but we as Inquisitors are here to guide our guests through to our ultimate destination: the truth."

Ciradyl winks at Eshenesra.

Ciradyl reaches beneath a fold of her robe and carefully unpins a tiny pale silver scale, causing her features to blur briefly as her true form is revealed.

Sir Guarrin just went northeast.

Ceilia takes some time to estimate to dimensions of the room below, the positions of the furniture and exits, and the bearing and fitness of those in it.

Ciradyl tucks one arm behind her back, bowing deeply as she steps towards Eshenesra with a wry grin.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ish dish dere way to pretend dey not reshpontible fer wot happent?"

Ciradyl tucks a tiny pale silver scale into a small pocket inside of her sapphire robes.

You think to yourself, "No detail too small, after all..."

Ciradyl clears her throat once again, adopting a more reserved demeanor.

Grutak says, "Elvish hospitality at it's best."

Jaranzair manages to hold his even expression, though his brow twitches slightly.

Lylia turns her head toward Grutak to favor him with a silent, withering gaze.

You see Imperatrix Lylia Rashere the Sorceress.

She appears to be a Faendryl Dark Elf.

She is taller than average and has a slender build. She appears to be in the spring of life. She has wide-set storm grey eyes and cool-toned alabaster skin. She has waist length, thick auburn hair pulled into a complicated knot at the nape and run through with a twisted spine of iridescent glass. The smooth symmetry of her face lends a patrician grace to her angular features.

She is in good shape.

She is wearing an enveloping dark sable wrap, a hemisphere of golden amber set in a wreath of silver leaves, a shoulder-baring obsidian silk gown trailing sephwir-weighted jade silk tippets, an antique silver wedding ring inlaid with an amber cabochon, and a pair of ora-buckled obsidian leather boots stacked on cloven fel heels.

Sorlu quietly moves his chair closer to the silver-washed railing as he sits down.

Sorlu scoots over next to Aliashyrah.

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie asks, "You're here. You're alive. Doubts that you may have, some understandable, you're not doing any favors. Relax, will you?"

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine says, "Once again there is nothing keeping him here. I would not be upset seeing him tossed face first into a mud puddle."

Speaking politely to Ciradyl, Eshenesra says, "With your permission, Master Inquisitor, I will proceed."

Speaking to Yardie, Grutak says, "I am quite relaxed. Muscles are loose and warmed up."

Lilanna says, "Maybe you could all shut up and listen."

Speaking in Elven to Jiarine, you ask, "How about that puddle down there?"

Ciradyl nods once at Eshenesra.

You point at a scrollworked silver-washed railing.

Dendum quietly moves his chair closer to the silver-washed railing as he sits down.

Speaking to Jaranzair, Eshenesra says, "For the Hall of Records, could you please state your name, where you are from, and your profession of choice."

Jaranzair evenly states, "Lord Legionnaire Commander Jaranzair Nashal Vaalor, of Ta'Vaalor."

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine slowly says, "I am too small and delicate to manhandle him over that all by myself. It could be a group effort... sort of like bonding."

Tikba grins wryly at Jiarine.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dat a moutful."

You feel a grin spreading across your face, the thick fabric of your cowl touching your cheeks.

Speaking to Jiarine, Dendum says, ""That would disrupt thing below."

Eshenesra takes a few steps to her right.

Eshenesra glances at Jaranzair.

Tikba stands up.

Maylan stands up.

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine says, "One problem would be solved."

Gutstorm struggles to stand, but fails.

Lylia pulls Gutstorm to his feet.

Syearris glances at Jaranzair and rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Maylan nods at Lylia.

Gutstorm grunts at Lylia urgently, calling for assistance!

Lylia dusts Gutstorm off.

Lilanna gazes heavenward.

Imperatrix Lylia's group just went northeast.

Eshenesra asks, "And is it true, Lord Commander Jaranzair, that you are known as the Spy Master of Ta'Vaalor?"

Sorlu whispers something to Grutak.

Sorlu smiles at Grutak.

Ciradyl takes a moment to observe Jaranzair.

Grutak frowns.

Grutak says, "It appears..."

Jaranzair says, "It is."

Speaking to Faerinn, Grutak says, "We've been cut off from Lithyia."

Speaking quietly to Aliashyrah, Sorlu says, "If that title doesn't proclaim his guilt, I don't know what will."

Faerinn grins.

Sorlu smirks.

Eshenesra glances at Jaranzair.

Eshenesra asks, "Do you hold a special status within Ta'Illistim?"

Jadedragan gazes thoughtfully at his honeyed citrus gin.

Speaking to his honeyed citrus gin, Jadedragan says, "About as dry as the humor of folks around here."

Jadedragan takes a drink from his honeyed citrus gin.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Yardie says, "It's a tense moment. But we shouldn't add to it."

Jaranzair says, "At the moment I am here as an invited delegate of the fortress."

Speaking in Elven to her elderflower cocktail, Jiarine says, "Pray tell me what enough of you will make this more interesting to watch."

Speaking to Yardie, Jadedragan says, "I shall endeavor to refrain from poking said bears any further."

Eshenesra nods once.

Eshenesra asks, "What was this purpose of this delegation?"

Faerinn takes a deep breath.

Jaranzair adds, "Though, I have bled for the Shining City in the past, so I may hold some special status among those that serve the city. Nothing of title, if that is what you mean."

Ciradyl nods briefly.

Syearris glances at Jaranzair.

Speaking flatly to Eshenesra, Jaranzair says, "Perhaps you could tell me. The purpose was never made clear to me."

Ciradyl laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.

Jiarine takes a drink from her elderflower cocktail.

Faerinn says, "I'm glad he's having fun."

Faerinn says, "Someone should be."

Speaking to Faerinn, Grutak says, "You stopped me from having my fun."

Eshenesra asks, "From intelligence gathered, it seems as though the purpose was to debase the victim, malign her purpose within the halls of Ta'Illistim, and to bring the sanctity of power held by the Mirror in question. Do you agree?"

Speaking to Faerinn, Jadedragan says, "Oh, we're all just having a ball here."

Dendum blinks.

Perigourd ponders.

Speaking casually to Grutak, you say, "Plenty of time still for some fun, don't fret."

Perigourd says, "Leading out strong."

Jadedragan agrees with Perigourd.

Archales inclines his ear, listening intently.

Speaking to you, Grutak says, "I'm hopeful."

Sorlu agrees with Perigourd.

Speaking evenly to Eshenesra, Jaranzair asks, "Do I believe there is a conspiracy against the Mirror? Is that what you are asking?"

Dendum says, "That is strong accusations."

Faerinn says, "Lithyia is in the room. She's not the one that concerns me."

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine says, "We might end with an execution. Perfect family fun."

Faerinn says, "I'm concerned about those who so far have not made it."

Speaking to Jaranzair, Eshenesra says, "I'd be interested in hearing your theory on such a consipiracy."

Faerinn glances out.

Draelor frowns.

Jaranzair glances at Eshenesra and rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to Sorlu, Grutak says, "The accusation isn't too far from what we gathered as well."

Faerinn asks, "Where is a page when you need one?"

Sorlu nods in agreement at Grutak.

Faerinn mutters under his breath.

Syearris raises an eyebrow in Jaranzair's direction.

Speaking to Faerinn, Jadedragan asks, "Need something ran somewhere?"

Speaking to Eshenesra, Jaranzair says, "That would require me to think there is a conspiracy against the Mirror."

Ciradyl murmurs, "As would I."

Jaranzair adds, "Or the victim."

Eshenesra says, "Yet, you just stated you believe there is one."

Faerinn says, "Maybe."

Eshenesra asks, "Is it both or none or something inbetween?"

Jaranzair says, "I did not. I asked if you were asking if I believed there was one."

Sorlu raises an eyebrow.

Speaking to Sorlu, Grutak says, "While I don't care for the Vaalorians in general. I like his style."

(Faerinn rubs his temple in a slow circular motions.)

Sorlu begins chuckling at Grutak!

Jaranzair says, "The answer is that I do not. I think emotions are running high, in light of the events that have transpired."

Speaking slowly to Jaranzair, Eshenesra says, "Surely, since you are the Spy Master, you would know of such things. Yet you claim you do not know why you were summoned as a delegate."

Speaking to Grutak, Faerinn says, "Love watching someone who is a master of their craft."

Speaking to Eshenesra, Jaranzair says, "You misundertand my position."

Faerinn says, "I, of course, speak of Jaranzair. The jesters down there can't seem to juggle one ball."

Eshenesra says, "Enlighten us."

Draelor says, "It's odd they seem to think a spymaster is going to confess to some great conspiracy."

Dendum begins chortling at Draelor.

Dendum says, ""Many paths lead to the river it is said and many river's lead to the ocean....."

Dendum shrugs at Draelor.

Speaking to Draelor, Jadedragan asks, "Why wouldn't he? If there isn't one, and they wish to sow discord, why not?"

Jaranzair says, "I do not perform any spying myself, merely a hand that directs the show."

Jiarine bursts out in laughter, snorting honey-colored cocktail through her nose.

Sorlu grins slowly.

Jiarine clears her throat.

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine says, "That is quite a lie."

Speaking to Eshenesra, Jaranzair asks, "What reason would I have to look into our ally, when no ill-will was presented?"

Eshenesra nods once.

Speaking to Jiarine, Sorlu says, "But beautifully said."

Speaking in Elven, you casually say, "It's his job to. Both lie and direct the show, that is."

Eshenesra asks, "So no rumors have come to the ears of your spy network which would call out a potential issue and/or the chance for harm to the late Lady Malwind?"

Jaranzair says, "I did not have spies looking out for the well-being of Lady Malwind, so I do not have information on it. If I did, I would have shared it with Lord Murstyr immediately."

You say, "Sharing intelligence is a tough ask after having held him captive for weeks."

Eshenesra nods once.

Speaking to Eshenesra, Jaranzair asks, "You are aware we have a mutual defense agreement?"

Syearris glances sharply at Jaranzair.

Speaking to you, Jadedragan asks, "You mean that doesn't earn good will and loosen lips?"

Eshenesra says, "Yes, Lord Murstyr was adament about it earlier int he week."

Eshenesra contends, "What are your feelings regarding the late Lady Kasendra Malwind?"

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine asks, "Even I do not believe his words. Not having a single set of eyes on an important guest?"

Dendum works his fingers under his warg leather hood and scratches his head.

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine says, "Granted this was just a human but the Mirror likes welcome others into the city."

Jaranzair says, "It was an unfortunate incident, and I extend my condolences to her people. She kept to herself in the Keep, so I have no firsthand knowledge of her."

Dendum asks, "Does this inquisitor have point?"

Dendum's expression briefly flickers with bewilderment.

Dendum says, "Seems to be throwing rocks in all directions hoping a bird may be hit randomly."

Faerinn rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Eshenesra asks, "What are your feelings on the treaties drafted during the Valley of Gold?"

Speaking to Dendum, Grutak says, "Typically they do, but they get to it in a round about way. Hoping for something to shiver loose."

Speaking to Grutak, Dendum inquires, ""Surely they do not expect this to work with another elf...who is a spy master?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Yardie says, "Silver for your thoughts."

Perigourd looks thoughtfully at Yardie.

Jaranzair evenly says, "The Argent Mirror is exceptionally kind and progressive leader."

Grutak snorts!

Jadedragan coughs.

Jadedragan gazes heavenward.

Yardie says, "That is the most diplomatic way of saying he disapporves."

Sorlu grins.

Speaking to Yardie, Perigourd says, "I expect they're simply trying to guage his reaction to certain questions."

Ciradyl nods once.

Aliashyrah whispers aloud, "In a game of wits, one must always go in believing they can win, otherwise ther would be no sense in engaging."

Speaking to Yardie, Grutak says, "Typically Nation Elves tend to only care about Nation elves. The rest of the world can go to the pot."

You comment, "At the cost of an enormous amount of diplomatic capital."

Speaking to Yardie, Perigourd says, "I'm curious though that he doesn't seem to know what the purpose of the delegation was in the first place."

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine says, "If he is a skillful Master of Spies he will have us convinved that the sky is red while making us think we discovered that on our own."

Speaking to Yardie, Perigourd says, "This would leave me to wonder where it originated and to what end."

Syearris paces across the chamber, his footsteps echoing up to the viewing areas.

Eshenesra asks, "So, as an upstanding Vaalorian military man, who has made a career of doing the right thing by his throne at all and any turns, you have no issues with the Mirror opening up borders, allowing the Empire into our trade, and reducing the real estate that a rightful elf could obtain?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Yardie says, "It's possible there was disapproval without even knowing what it meant. Change comes hard for many."

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine mouths, "Do you think he added rocks into his boots to make them sound louder and more imposing?"

Grutak says, "Here we go..."

Speaking to Jiarine, Faerinn says, "Metal plates to keep them from squeaking."

Jadedragan says, "Uh oh, it rather sounds like the Empire hasn't made friends on this side of the mountain either."

Sorlu agrees with Grutak.

Dendum asks, "Wait...what real estate? Is this some kind of elf saying?"

Speaking to Yardie, Perigourd says, "It may be that, but there are other possibilities."

Speaking to Jiarine, Faerinn says, "And honking."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Draelor says, "How very odd."

Jaranzair looks thoughtfully at Eshenesra.

Speaking to Dendum, Faerinn says, "I think the Aelotoi village."

Speaking to Yardie, Perigourd says, "Such minor discords can provide ample timing to work ones own ends."

Speaking in Elven to Dendum, you say, "Land, in the context of owning it."

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine says, "I was not expexting an answer."

Speaking to Draelor, Jadedragan says, "I'm stunned into speechlessness."

Dendum nods at Faerinn.

Speaking disbelievingly in Gnomish to you, Dendum says something you don't understand.

Jaranzair evenly agrees, "I am an upstanding Vaalorian military man."

Faerinn says, "Also they are taking in refugees from the Empire prior to the Edict finally being revoked."

Sorlu chuckles.

Jaranzair says, "As such, I do not believe the Mirror makes decisions for the throne I serve."

Faerinn says, "I worked that deal out with Her Reflection myself."

Speaking to Faerinn, Dendum asks, "Those of elf blood?"

Yardie says, "He still didn't answer the question."

Faerinn says, "Of any house."

Speaking to Faerinn, Dendum says, "This makes sense."

Speaking to Yardie, Draelor says, "That's likely the point."

Eshenesra quickly asks, "And that is where your loyalty and actionable decisions end, at your throne?"

Speaking in Elven to Yardie, you say, "He shouldn't. Matter of national policy and he's held under duress."

Jaranzair says, "What my opinion is on how she leads her city-state is irrelevant. She makes the best decisions for her people."

Speaking to you, Yardie says, "For a person under duress, he's rather cool."

You feel a grin spreading across your face, the thick fabric of your cowl touching your cheeks.

Speaking to Yardie, Jadedragan asks, "Can we start a petition to nickname him Cucumber?"

Grutak says, "Divisions among the Nation... interesting."

Speaking to Yardie, Faerinn says, "I should hope so."

Speaking to Yardie, Perigourd says, "I imagine it's not the worst position he's found himself in."

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie jokes, "See? He's outperforming you in keeping docile tones. Show that Vaalorian who's better by being calmer than he."

Eshenesra nods slowly.

Speaking to Eshenesra, Jaranzair says, "I remind you my throne has a mutual defense agreement with Ta'Illistim, so my loyalty extends to their protection. It does not need to extend to agreeing with political policies, whether I do or don't."

Faerinn chuckles.

Eshenesra says, "Yes, of course."

Speaking to Yardie, Grutak says, "Time and place. Some things are useful."

Speaking to Yardie, Draelor says, "No one's bleeding, so I'm assuming he's fairly calm."

Jaranzair says, "That is a matter of personal opinion and irrelevant to my role."

Speaking to Draelor, Yardie says, "You check his lip? Wouldn't surprise me Grutak he hasn't bitten several lacerations from the desire to smack people."

Speaking to Perigourd, Yardie says, "And you're right on that."

Draelor shrugs at Yardie.

Eshenesra asks, "Can you illuminate for us what the secret meeting on the 21st of Fashantos, which took place moments after the court session, was about?"

Speaking to Yardie, Grutak says, "You'd be wrong."

Jadedragan laughs!

Speaking to Yardie, Draelor says, "You do what you must for those you care for."

From nearby, you hear Gutstorm yell, "If he do den it notta shekrit!"

Jadedragan starts chortling.

You casually say, "Well said."

Dendum says, "That Dwarf."

Speaking to Eshenesra, Jaranzair says, "The threats the one known as Grutak was making against Ta'Vaalor."

Dendum starts chortling.

Perigourd surreptitiously glances at Grutak.

Eshenesra glances with distaste at the observation booth.

Sorlu casually glances at Grutak.

Jadedragan asks, "Why would you even pose that question?"

Yardie asks, "Secret meeting?"

Sorlu chuckles to himself.

Jadedragan begins chuckling at Grutak!

Eshenesra blandly says, "Yes, I can understand the need for that sort of meeting."

Speaking to Grutak, Sorlu says, "Look at that...you inspire secret meetings."

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie says, "Look what you did."

Speaking to Grutak, Jadedragan says, "I think the pot is being stirred."

Eshenesra dusts off her velveteen robe.

Speaking to Jadedragan, you say, "Airing Vaalorian laundry as a sleight, perhaps."

Grutak smirks.

Jaranzair says, "We were in a tense situation with Icemule Trace at the time, I was merely being updated on the situation at hand."

(Ceilia claps Grutak on the back.)

Speaking to you, Yardie jokes, "I thought they marched their way to cleanliness."

Speaking cheerfully to Grutak, you say, "You're famous."

Jadedragan agrees with Yardie.

You snicker at Yardie.

Speaking to you, Grutak says, "That isn't helpful."

Speaking to you, Jadedragan says, "Style over substance is what I'm gathering."

(Faerinn places two fingers to his lip.)

Eshenesra asks, "That was a rather interesting series of events within your House. Do you feel that they have tainted or shaped the ways in which you have dealt with the Human Empire threat?"

Speaking wryly to Grutak, you ask, "My comment or your fame?"

Perigourd chuckles.

Grutak says, "My fame."

You nod in agreement.

Jaranzair says, "No."

You feel a grin spreading across your face, the thick fabric of your cowl touching your cheeks.

Yardie says, "Ineresting question."

Jaranzair says, "I don't consider them a threat."

Perigourd says, "I should hope not."

Jaranzair says, "Again, I think emotions are running high and some people are jumping to conclusions without any basis of facts."

Grutak says, "The Empire IS a threat."

Perigourd slowly asks, "To?"

Jadedragan says, "There seems to be some...usage, of the tragic death of someone in order to sus out other issues."

Eshenesra smiles politely

Faerinn says, "Everything everywhere."

Eshenesra says, "We are merely here making an inquiry."

Jadedragan shakes his head.

Perigourd says, "I see."

Dendum says, "Freedom."

Faerinn says, "That is how empires work."

Eshenesra says, "Surely, as a spy master, you can understand the very volume of articles we have had to sift through."

Jaranzair says, "I am not referring to you. I mean among the people."

Jaranzair nods at Eshenesra.

Speaking to Grutak, you say, "His position, both in his nation and here physically, don't permit him to say that."

Eshenesra nods once.

Faerinn says, "They eventually eat everything until the world is the same because of their hunger for resources."

Eshenesra asks, "Do you remember the evening of Fashantos the 4th?"

Speaking to you, Grutak says, "Only because of fear."

Yardie says, "Empire or not....ultimately it always comes down to power. There will always be some sort of threat."

Speaking to Yardie, Sorlu agrees, "Power corrupts even the most noble of hearts."

Jaranzair remarks, "I am not that old."

Jadedragan agrees with Sorlu.

Ciradyl chuckles to herself.

Speaking to Sorlu, Yardie asks, "So if you were to gain power, you'd be corrupted?"

Jaranzair says, "What do you want to ask about it? You can get to the point."

Eshenesra asks, "In your words, can you explain what happened that night?"

Speaking to Yardie, Sorlu says, "I am aware enough to avoid it."

Speaking to Sorlu, Grutak says, "Okay, I am startin to like this guy..."

Sorlu smiles at Yardie.

Speaking to Yardie, Meril says, "That is only a saying because most people are corruptible. Power reveals."

Sorlu agrees with Meril.

Speaking to Yardie, Dendum remarks, "The councilors of Icemule are mere servants of the people surely there is no threat of too much power in the hands of servants."

Speaking to Meril, Sorlu says, "Yes...yes they are."

Jadedragan smirks at Dendum.

Speaking to Dendum, Perigourd says, "The council of ten were also mere servants of the people."

Speaking to Dendum, Grutak says, "Servants can lie to their Masters."

Speaking to Dendum, Perigourd says, "Until they weren't."

Sorlu smiles at Dendum.

Speaking to Perigourd, Dendum asks, ""Was that the one that destroyed Talador?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Dendum says, ""Have trouble remembering all the human councils and things."

Grutak says, "Kinda like Opalina did."

Sorlu grins slowly at Dendum.

Speaking to Perigourd, Jadedragan says, "Until their own need for maintaining power came at a price."

Speaking to Dendum, Perigourd says, "Icemule, actually."

Speaking to Sorlu, Grutak asks, "Did I say that outloud? Oops?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Dendum corrects, ""Oh no Icemule is not destroyed."

Sorlu begins chuckling at Grutak!

Dendum says, "You are misinformed."

Jaranzair says, "I danced with Miss Akenna, then I left briefly to avoid being pressured into dancing with another, and then I returned."

Eshenesra says, "Yes, we have her on our questioning list for a few days from now."

Grutak exclaims, "Okay, that's suspicious... what man doesn't like dancing with a pretty girl!"

Eshenesra says, "An interesting dance partner to be sure."

Jaranzair says, "Shortly after, Lord Murstyr was taken away in a hurry, and then later the Mirror, and then we..."

Jadedragan begins chuckling at Grutak!

Eshenesra asks, "She hails from the Wyrdeep, am I not mistaken?"

Speaking to Eshenesra, Jaranzair says, "She is the only one that asked."

Speaking to Dendum, Perigourd asks, "So you blame Taladors council then for it's fall?"

Speaking amusedly to Jaranzair, Eshenesra asks, "Someone of your stature doesn't have a full dance card?"

Perigourd raises an eyebrow.

Speaking to Eshenesra, Jaranzair asks, "Do you find me particularly friendly?"

Jadedragan says, "What is this questioning."

Jaranzair raises an eyebrow.

Sorlu laughs softly, trying to hide his amusement.

Speaking to Perigourd, Dendum remarks, ""No...blame the human empire...thought we just discussed this...Perigourd must listen better."

Speaking to Dendum, Perigourd says, "I think you're reaching."

Perigourd nods at Dendum.

Perigourd puffs rapidly on his dark maoral pipe, some pale wisps of fragrant anise-scented smoke dancing about him.

Aliashyrah chuckles.

Speaking to Grutak, Aliashyrah says, "It would seem if you like him, his dance card has room for you."

Aliashyrah smirks at Grutak.

Speaking to Jaranzair, Eshenesra says, "I find sparing with you to be rather exhilarating commander, though I would note this isn't what the proceedings are about."

Speaking to Aliashyrah, Grutak says, "He's not my type."

Draelor reaches inside one of the containers hanging from his doeskin harness and grabs a tube of multicolored candies.

Draelor selects a tiny red candy from the candies, pops it into his mouth, and chews.

Grutak says, "I like'em like Sorlu."

Grutak wiggles his eyebrows at Sorlu.

Speaking to Perigourd, Dendum replies, ""Reaching.....this is some kind of height joke?"

Sorlu carefully surveys his surroundings.

Aliashyrah gazes in amusement at her surroundings.

Jaranzair asks, "Is there anything else you need to know, then?"

Sorlu laughs softly, trying to hide his amusement.

Grutak glances at Dendum.

Eshenesra asks, "How did your wife feel about your dance partner of the evening?"

Perigourd chuckles.

Speaking to Dendum, Grutak says, "You are short..."

Speaking to Dendum, Grutak asks, "Why would it be a joke?"

You say, "Glad she's having fun eroding her nation's diplomatic relations."

Speaking to Eshenesra, Jaranzair says, "I did not ask her. We have been married for five centuries, she hardly is the sort to be concerned I would leave her for a younger woman."

Jadedragan grins at you.

You feel the corners of your lips lift in a smirk, your eyes crinkling slightly.

Speaking to you, Jadedragan says, "This seems...really bizarre."

Draelor says, "It does beg the question of how the Vaalor are going to view this."

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine condescendingly says, "Why ask these questions? Not all women are jealous harpies."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Grutak asks, "You are surprised the Elves of the Nations are bizarre?"

Eshenesra nods.

Speaking to Draelor, Grutak says, "How they view everything else... they get offended."

Speaking to Grutak, Jadedragan asks, "I expected less, I don't know, meaningless pushing?"

Jaranzair says, "I will note that Miss Akenna is well-regarded in the fortress, regardless of where she may or may not hail from."

Eshenesra asks, "One last thing, Commander, when you departed for that brief moment to avoid gaining a new dance partner, did you meet the Lady Kasendra in her chambers or in the hallway?"

Jaranzair shakes his head.

Meril cocks her head.

Grutak smirks.

Aliashyrah laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.

Aliashyrah says, "They do like the questions with no good answers."

Jadedragan nods at Aliashyrah.

You smoothly say, "Interesting phrasing there."

Jaranzair says, "I found Lady Kasendra to be rather elusive, in general."

Jaranzair says, "I did not see her in the hallway when I stepped out."

Grutak says, "Never ask a question you don't know the answer to."

Speaking to you, Jadedragan says, "The Paladin who trained me asked me questions like, with the goal of tripping me up trying to answer it."

Archales blinks.

Speaking playfully to Grutak, Aliashyrah teases, "That would leave some with very little to ask."

Speaking to you, Jadedragan says, "I was a child the last time it worked."

You nod at Jadedragan.

Eshenesra nods once.

Eshenesra turns around.

Jadedragan says, "I gather that the questioned from Vaalor is not a child to be tripped up by something like that."

Jadedragan leans against a scrollworked silver-washed railing.

Syearris looks thoughtfully at Jaranzair.

Eshenesra converses quietly with her fellow inquisitors.

Ciradyl nods briefly at Eshenesra.

Grutak says, "You notice he didn't fully answer the question though."

Jadedragan nods at Grutak.

Syearris looks over at Eshenesra and shakes his head.

Jadedragan says, "I noticed."

Aeriadrn makes several notes on his parchment.

Eshenesra nods once.

Eshenesra turns to face Jaranzair.

Jaranzair asks, "Is that all?"

Speaking to Jaranzair, Eshenesra says, "Lord Legionnaire Commander, you have satisified our Inquest. Through the power granted us by the action of Inquery, you are free to return to your duties, your home, and your life. We thank you, formally and ardently, for your patience and time."

Jaranzair nods.

Jaranzair stands up.

Grutak says, "Interesting."

Perigourd rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Grutak says, "They had him..."

Grutak says, "And are letting him walk."

Jaranzair says, "I wish you well in your endeavours and hope you are able to uncover the foe behind these horrendous actions."

Eshenesra says, "Thank you."

Aeriadrn nods at Jaranzair.

Ciradyl bows to Jaranzair.

Syearris bows to Jaranzair.

Jaranzair gives a stilted bow.

Lord Legionnaire Commander Jaranzair just went through a duo of heavy-handled doors.

Lord Legionnaire Commander Jaranzair just wandered up a silver-gilt staircase wrought into overlapping feathers.

Lord Legionnaire Commander Jaranzair just went northwest.

Rohese

Ciradyl turns to face Eshenesra.

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie says, "There's not enough there."

Speaking to Yardie, Grutak says, "Not exactly..."

Inquisitor Eshenesra just went through a multi-locked blued imflass door.

Dendum says, "Ahh the elves have taken up a spot opposite us."

Envoy Lilanna just arrived.

You peer northwest and see ...

[Observation Room]

Oak-framed chairs of burnt sepia velvet are arranged before the silver-washed railing, the leaf-carved legs resting against the marbled ivory floor. Heavy curtains are draped across the ceiling-high windows, obscuring the light through layers of sage-on-hunter green brocade, the fabric pooling below a lacquered mahogany table affixed in the far corner. A spherical brass lantern emanates a soft glow across the table's surface, providing a faint modicum of light.

Obvious exits: northeast, southeast

You peer northeast and see ...

[Observation Room]

Ebony-framed chairs of burnt emerald velvet are arranged before the silver-washed railing, the vine-carved legs resting against the marbled ivory floor. Heavy curtains are draped across the ceiling-high windows, obscuring the light through layers of jade-on-burgundy brocade, the fabric pooling below a lacquered ebonwood table affixed in the far corner. A spherical kelyn lantern emanates a soft glow across the table's surface, providing a faint modicum of light. You also see the web-draped Missoni disk, a lazy wild dark red dog, a rough oak table with some stuff on it and a volatile wasteland spirit that is flying around.

Also here: Missoni, Seaward Gutstorm who is sitting, Land Pirate Maylan who is sitting, Tikba who is sitting, Imperatrix Lylia who is sitting, Sir Guarrin

Obvious exits: southwest, northwest

Speaking to Dendum, Yardie says, "I'm just too lazy to move."

Speaking to Syearris, Ciradyl comments, "You seem very deep into your thoughts, Inquisitor."

Inquisitor Eshenesra's group just came through a multi-locked blued imflass door.

Rohese lets out a long, contemplative breath.

Straightening his back, Aeriadrn gives a formal, low bow to Rohese. He inclines his head as well, giving Rohese a brief nod.

Speaking to Rohese, Eshenesra says, "Please, have a seat and make yourself comfortable."

Rohese clasps her hands before her in homage, the sleeves of her storm grey wool houppelande pooling at her wrists, as she dips into a low, demure curtsy.

Speaking to Rohese, Ciradyl greets, "Lady Bayvel-Timbertree."

Speaking uneasily to Eshenesra, Rohese says, "Thank you."

Rohese smiles at Ciradyl.

Speaking apprehensively to Ciradyl, Rohese says, "Good afternoon."

Rohese glances around the room.

Eshenesra joins Ciradyl's group.

Rohese slowly approaches the silk-cushioned chair, her steps echoing against the marble floor as she sits down.

Speaking curiously to Eshenesra, Ciradyl asks, "May I?"

Using both hands, Rohese pushes the hood of her houppelande off of her head.

Eshenesra says, "At your leisure, Master Inquisitor."

Ciradyl nods politely at Eshenesra.

Rohese glances nervously around the room.

Ciradyl turns slowly to face Rohese, approaching the chairs with measured steps.

Rohese smiles at Ciradyl.

Speaking to Rohese, Syearris assures, "Simple questions."

Ciradyl nods once.

Rohese nods understandingly at Syearris.

Speaking appreciatively to Syearris, Rohese says, "Thank you."

Rohese bites her lip.

Ciradyl forages around for a moment but doesn't appear to have any luck finding what she was looking for.

Rohese inclines her head.

Rohese nods once.

Wolfloner just wandered up a silver-gilt staircase wrought into overlapping feathers.

You wave to Wolfloner.

Dendum bows to Wolfloner.

Wolfloner nods to you.

Wolfloner waves to Dendum.

Archales nods to Wolfloner in greeting.

Speaking politely to Rohese, Ciradyl says, "For the Hall of Records, could you please state your name, where you are from, and your profession of choice."

Rohese apprehensively states, "My name is Rohese Bayvel-Timbertree. I was born and raised in Ta'Illistim and I am currently the Loremaster for the Mist Harbor Library."

Rohese clears her throat.

Aeriadrn makes a few notes on his parchement.

Speaking interestedly to Rohese, Ciradyl says, "Loremaster for...Mist Harbor? I would think the Shining City would want to keep our brightest minds here."

Rohese furtively glances at Aeriadrn.

Rohese wrinkles her nose.

You see Warchief Archales Sur-Rocine the Scion of Shaundara.

He appears to be a Half-Elf from Ta'Ardenai.

He is taller than average and has a large-boned build. He has brooding, jade-infused storm grey eyes and nut brown skin. He has shoulder-length, lustrous blue-black hair with curls loosely bound in an intricate braid secured with silver moonstones. He has an elegant golvern hook for a hand.

His face is concealed by a golvern mask etched with wyrwood leaves.

He has a Bard Guild tattoo on his arm, and a trio of golvern rings in the upper ridge of his left ear.

He is in good shape.

He is wearing a kidskin tricorne with a night hawk feather plume, a black ora ring, a veniom reinforced harness over a dove grey flyrsilk shirt with golvern cufflinks with a quilted flyrsilk gambeson underneath, a chocolate kidskin jacket, a grey silk tabard, a lacquered black zydris pauldron, a golvern and wyrwood eisenruck, a wyrwood instrument case slung over his shoulder, some chocolate kidskin breeches lined in grey flyrsilk, a muted grey flyrsilk gempouch, a kidskin survival kit, a kidskin sling with a wyrwood flute inlaid with veniom leaves hanging from it, a veniom grappling iron dangling a thick length of rope, and a pair of pale grey lambskin shoes toed with veniom webwork.

Wolfloner smiles at Archales.

Speaking bashfully to Ciradyl, Rohese explains, "I am awaiting the call to serve the Masters of Lore and that is very kind of you to say so."

Ciradyl inclines her head.

Yardie says, "I get a resentment of anything not Illistim."

Speaking to Rohese, Ciradyl says, "Simply my observations."

Wolfloner turns an inquisitive ear toward Yardie.

Jadedragan nods at Yardie.

Rohese nods thoughtfully at Ciradyl.

Jadedragan and Wolfloner shake hands.

Yardie says, "And even then. You'd think they'd rejoice Rohese working in Mist Harbor. She helps quite a lot."

Rohese fidgets with her chalcedony crystals, turning its beads around her wrist with a staccato clacking of stones.

Rohese demurely lowers her misty grey eyes.

Ciradyl walks away from Rohese, then turns to face her.

Rohese inclines her head.

Ciradyl curiously asks, "What is your status within Ta Illistim?"

Speaking to Yardie, Dendum says, ""Eh...the Illistim are mighty and...good yes? But do not see many Illistim run libraries outside of the land of elves."

Speaking uneasily to Ciradyl, Rohese queries, "Status? Could you clarify the question, please?"

Speaking to Dendum, Yardie says, "Rohese, really."

Speaking apologetically to Rohese, Ciradyl asks, "Are you currently residing within the Shining City?"

Speaking to Dendum, Grutak asks, "Illistim good?"

Speaking to Grutak, Jadedragan says, "From their point of view."

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie says, "There's wicked everywhere."

Speaking understandingly to Ciradyl, Rohese says, "Ah, I see. For the most part, I am. Yes."

Rohese nods once.

Speaking to Grutak, Dendum says, ""Well...in the nation of elves....perhaps...though did see them once turn a bandit to ash with light."

Ciradyl nods once.

Speaking to Dendum, Yardie asks, "So they made him a shining example?"

Speaking softly to Ciradyl, Rohese elaborates, "I have several residences but I do tend to spend my time here."

Perigourd chuckles to himself.

You feel your face twisting into a wince, the thick fabric of your cowl hiding the majority of the expression, though it can do nothing for your eyes.

Perigourd shakes his head.

Ciradyl says, "I had assumed that your role within Mist Harbor would have you there more often than not."

Rohese looks over at Ciradyl and shakes her head.

Archales rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to Yardie, Dendum clarifies, ""No he was mostly just ash."

Grutak says, "Nation elves tend to be evil... in my opinion."

Speaking softly to Ciradyl, Rohese clarifies, "No, I prefer to stay close to home as much as I can."

Rohese wrinkles her nose.

Sorlu chuckles to himself.

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie says, "Some would say the same about Kindred....or Faendryl."

Speaking evenly to Rohese, Ciradyl says, "As you do call Ta'Illistim home, I am informed that you were integral to the treaties pertaining to the Valley of Gold."

Rohese flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks.

Speaking to Yardie, Jadedragan says, "Every group has tendencies to inflict violence on 'others'."

Meril acts puzzled.

Speaking to Yardie, Grutak says, "Faendryl, Dhe'nari, they are all the same to me. East of the spine."

Meril removes a delicately carved mesille mirror from in her wild silk cloak.

Meril gazes at her reflection in the carved mesille mirror.

Archales holds up his hand and tilts it side to side in a so-so gesture.

Speaking modestly to Ciradyl, Rohese says, "I worked with many good people towards that end."

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie says, "Oh now you insult me. Take that back."

Ciradyl continues, "Of which I know the late Lady Malwind worked alongside with aid and communications from the West...if I am correct?"

Archales glances between Yardie and Grutak.

Speaking to Grutak, Dendum reminds, ""The Dhe'nar are more west."

Speaking to Yardie, Grutak asks, "Do you live in New Ta'Faendryl?"

Rohese nods in agreement at Ciradyl.

Speaking softly to Ciradyl, Rohese confirms, "Correct."

Speaking vaguely to Grutak, Yardie says, "I did...long ago."

Speaking to Yardie, Grutak says, "But not now..."

Speaking evenly to Rohese, Ciradyl says, "Philantropy is a very admirable pursuit."

Rohese demurely lowers her misty grey eyes.

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie says, "I am a Freeman of the Fall. So no, not now."

Grutak nods.

Grutak says, "Exactly."

Speaking meekly to Ciradyl, Rohese says, "I merely try to help those in need when I see it."

Grutak says, "You are not an elf that is residing East of the Spine."

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie says, "Exactly....what? You know I get accusations of being vague, but you beat me in that regard."

Speaking evenly to Rohese, Ciradyl asks, "Was Lady Malwind's role one of equal footing within the organizations?"

Aeriadrn writes a few words on his parchment.

Speaking softly to Ciradyl, Rohese admits, "I had little direct contact with Lady Malwind, we both carried out our work on opposite sides of the Dragonspine so I cannot speak to footing."

Ciradyl slowly says, "I can imagine there was some discontent in allowing her to request succor when tensions were still prevalent between each side."

Wolfloner darkly says, "Even Ta'Illstim has it's xenophobic faction within it....."

Ciradyl clears her throat discreetly.

Speaking firmly to Ciradyl, Rohese declares, "I never witnessed any."

Archales says, "A very small faction."

Faerinn rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking simply to Rohese, Ciradyl says, "What are your thoughts on Lady Malwind, just for our records."

Rohese raises an eyebrow in Ciradyl's direction.

Syearris raises an eyebrow.

Syearris folds his arms over his chest.

Missoni flounces in amidst a diffuse cloud of prismatic glitter.

Wolfloner darkly says, "Assuming there are any left after the Argent Mirror took down the brief rebellion not all that many years ago."

Wolfloner nods at Archales.

Faerinn says, "I need to see an elf about a Manrolt."

Perigourd leans on Missoni, resting his hand upon her shoulder.

Faerinn says, "I'll return shortly."

You nod sagely at Faerinn.

Faerinn just went northeast.

Ciradyl slowly explains, "We never had the good fortune to be introduced."

Speaking to Archales, Jadedragan says, "Small-ish factions that aren't explicitly denounced by those in charge, tend to be viewed as being supported by officials."

Speaking sadly to Ciradyl, Rohese says, "What a strange question. She was a kind soul who I would have loved to have had the opportunity to know better."

Missoni reaches up with her opposite hand and places it upon her Vornavian silk armband, bowing her head slightly as she gazes downwards.

Ciradyl evenly says, "To understand the motives is to discover the person and their facets."

Speaking softly to Ciradyl, Rohese sighs, "Alas, I will not have that chance now."

Rohese lowers her gaze.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Archales says, "Somethings just don't rise to level of importance to concern those in power."

Jiarine pours herself a crystalline flute of fruit-mixed riesling.

Ciradyl nods once.

Speaking to Archales, Jadedragan says, "I hear ignoring small health problems is a great way to live a long life."

Jadedragan shrugs.

You casually ask, "Wouldn't that by definition be tacit support?"

Speaking to you, Jadedragan says, "Therein lies the rub."

Rohese passes the beads of her chalcedony crystals through her fingers, one at a time, in a well-practiced gesture.

Speaking sincerely to Rohese, Ciradyl says, "We simply are here to learn of her life before the event."

Rohese cocks her head at Ciradyl.

Rohese nods faintly at Ciradyl.

Speaking curiously to Rohese, Ciradyl asks, "Do you remember the evening of Fashantos the 4th, Lady Bayvel-Timbertree?"

Speaking softly to Ciradyl, Rohese says, "It will forever be in my memory now."

Ciradyl calmly says, "And we hope to bring solace to those who feel the same."

Rohese nods appreciatively at Ciradyl.

Speaking despondently to Ciradyl, Rohese notes, "Such a lovely evening that ended in tragedy."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Archales says, "That metaphor assumes more than one affliction is being ignored so I'm not sure it applies, to the idea of stamping out disent."

Speaking curiously to Rohese, Ciradyl asks, "Had you noticed any odd behaviors prior to your early departure?"

Rohese furrows her brow.

Speaking cautiously to Ciradyl, Rohese says, "Odd behaviours ..."

You turn around.

You lean against a scrollworked silver-washed railing.

Speaking to Archales, Jadedragan says, "I'm not talking of dissent."

Missoni fidgets.

Yardie says, "You know...."

Speaking carefully to Ciradyl, Rohese says, "Well, I did notice that there was a lot of comings and goings but I assumed it was because the ballroom was rather stuffy."

Rohese bites her lip.

Perigourd surreptitiously glances at Missoni.

Missoni takes a drink from her floral-infused whiskey.

Yardie says, "I don't think it was Rohese. But if it were, no one would suspect her."

Draelor shrugs his shoulders, lifting his wings slightly.

Speaking to Yardie, Perigourd says, "It may not be any of those being asked to answer questions."

Perigourd takes a drink from his Hendorian red wine.

Dendum exclaims, "Could have been all of them!"

Speaking to Archales, Jadedragan says, "If I have power, and you use proximity to that power to do things I do not agree with, it is up to me to stop you."

Speaking softly to Ciradyl, Rohese adds, "But I admit my attention was mostly with my husband on the dance floor."

Dendum asks, "A council of...how many were there?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Yardie says, "You're right. But if it was.....you have to admit, none of us would see it coming."

Missoni says, "I get the impression that they are just trying to paint a picture."

Speaking to Archales, Jadedragan says, "If I don't, then whether I mean to or not, I am consenting to you using my power."

Rohese flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks.

Speaking to Dendum, you exclaim, "A dilettante conspiracy!"

Dendum raises his fist defiantly.

Missoni says, "It could not have been all of them. They did not all leave the ballroom at one time."

Speaking politely to Rohese, Ciradyl asks, "One final question or questions, if I may. May I inquire as to why you and your husband departed early?"

Rohese lowers her gaze.

Rohese clears her throat.

Speaking wryly to Missoni, you say, "Clever planning on the conspirators part to sew just such doubts."

Grutak grins.

Speaking to Archales, Jadedragan says, "For royalty, governments, dictators, whatever, if they don't reign in groups using their power for things like stamping out 'undesirables', they are giving authority away and in essence, making it official."

Speaking to Rohese, Ciradyl continues, "And was the Lady Malwind within your sight at your departure?"

Speaking bashfully to Ciradyl, Rohese says, "You may and it is simply because we are not used to being out late at night."

Missoni slowly empties her lungs.

Rohese looks over at Ciradyl and shakes her head.

Speaking sincerely to Ciradyl, Rohese states, "I did not notice her at all as we left."

Speaking to Archales, Jadedragan says, "In my comparison of health, a small issue may not kill you immediately. But if you don't address small things, they tend to blow up and take over, and become impossible to deal with once they get momentum going."

Speaking to Missoni, you say, "I do agree with your assessment. This appears to be about... appearance."

Adopting an agreeable expression, Dendum nods.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Archales says, "If you go behind my back and steal my climbing gear, I am not responsible for you using it to drag someone else to their death on the mountain. Yes, you used my power in this case equipment, but I clearly didn't consent to the behaviors you chose to do while it was in someone else's possesion."

Speaking dubiously to Ciradyl, Rohese adds, "I don't believe she was in the ballroom either when we were saying our farewells."

Archales rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to Archales, Jadedragan asks, "If you know I did it, and did nothing to either stop me or get it back, are you still absolved of guilt?"

Ciradyl glances between Eshenesra and Syearris.

Rohese bites her lip.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Archales asks, "How much would I have to know?"

Speaking gratefully to Rohese, Ciradyl says, "Thank you for your observations."

Rohese nods slightly.

Speaking to Rohese, Ciradyl says, "Just a moment."

Speaking softly to Ciradyl, Rohese says, "I am happy to help in any way."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Archales asks, "The exact time, or the location, or your intent, did I find out before or after the act?"

Ciradyl turns to face Eshenesra and Syearris and gathers them close.

Rohese lowers her gaze.

You say, "Apologies, but perhaps stealing a poorly secured weapon would be a better analogy? The power of a nation surely constitues a weapon."

Jadedragan grins at you.

Speaking to you, Jadedragan says, "Perhaps."

Missoni cocks her head at Perigourd.

Rohese surreptitiously glances at Ciradyl.

Syearris gives a sidelong glance at Rohese.

The words, "...she was not present in the ballroom..." echo throughout the chamber.

Rohese lowers her gaze.

Rohese closes her eyes for a moment.

Ciradyl slowly turns to face Rohese.

Syearris whispers something to Eshenesra.

Eshenesra nods.

You close your eyes for a moment.

Archales inclines his ear, listening intently.

Archales rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine says, "I presume that is an important bit of information."

Archales nods in agreement to you.

Missoni murmurs, "I remember Lady Malwind being there when Lady Bayvel said her goodbyes, but she was awfully quiet."

Speaking to Rohese, Ciradyl declares, "Lady Bayvel-Timbertree, we thank you for joining us this afternoon, please feel free to join the observations from above at your leisure."

Aeriadrn nods.

Rohese smiles at Ciradyl.

Speaking relievedly to Ciradyl, Rohese says, "Thank you."

Rohese stands up.

Rohese clasps her hands before her in homage, the sleeves of her storm grey wool houppelande pooling at her wrists, as she dips into a low, demure curtsy.

Straightening his back, Aeriadrn gives a formal, low bow to Rohese. He inclines his head as well, giving Rohese a brief nod.

Speaking to Archales, Jadedragan says, "If we're going to link your example to me talking about governments knowing about groups, if a group of, lets say Elves, says that all half-Krolvin are evil. They use public space for it. They push actions from their group to prevent half-Krolvin from feeling welcome."

Ciradyl bows to Rohese.

Aeriadrn says, "Lady."

Rohese wrinkles her nose.

Rohese turns around.

Ciradyl whispers something to Syearris.

Syearris bows to Rohese.

Loremaster Rohese just went through a duo of heavy-handled doors.

Eshenesra nods.

Syearris nods at Ciradyl.

Speaking to Archales, Jadedragan says, "And the people in charge of the group of Elves, who haven't tacitly agreed with this, but are not stopping it despite it being public."

Loremaster Rohese just wandered up a silver-gilt staircase wrought into overlapping feathers.

Rohese lets out a sigh of relief.

Lithyia

Ciradyl nods once.

Speaking to Archales, Jadedragan says, "I would say that makes the group in charge culpable."

Rohese glances around the room.

Inquisitor Ciradyl just went through a multi-locked blued imflass door.

Rohese relievedly exclaims, "I'm glad that is over!"

Speaking warmly to Rohese, Missoni says, "You comported yourself very well."

Rohese wrinkles her nose.

Aeriadrn begins writing a few things before pausing, rereading the notes.

Archales turns an inquisitive ear toward Jadedragan.

Speaking gratefully to Missoni, Rohese says, "Thank you."

Syearris gives a sidelong glance at Aeriadrn.

Speaking to Rohese, Zishral says, "Well handled."

Rohese softly says, "I merely spoke the truth."

Dendum pours himself a mug of bitter evergreen tea.

Rohese smiles at Zishral.

Dendum offers Rohese a mug of bitter evergreen tea.

Rohese beams at Dendum, her eyes filled with delight!

Speaking softly to Dendum, Rohese exclaims, "Thank you!"

Aeriadrn says, "The Argent Mirror wishes to have a first hand review of today."

Eshenesra nods.

Inquisitor Ciradyl's group just came through a multi-locked blued imflass door.

Lithyia put a diminutive mithril-framed painting accented with filigreed hearts in her stained glass locket.

Lithyia just closed an oval stained glass locket on thinly plaited silver filament.

Lithyia reaches out and touches her stained glass locket.

Lithyia closes her eyes for a moment.

Lithyia slowly empties her lungs.

Lithyia turns to face Aeriadrn.

Speaking to Syearris, Ciradyl says, "Inquisitor Syearris."

Speaking softly to Akenna, Rohese exclaims, "I never want to do that again!"

Syearris nods at Ciradyl.

Aeriadrn nods at Lithyia.

Ciradyl takes a few steps back.

Lithyia nods.

Speaking in Elven to Rohese, Akenna says, "I don't blame you."

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris states, "Please sit."

Grutak clenches his jaw.

Lithyia slowly approaches the silk-cushioned chair, her steps echoing against the marble floor as she sits down.

Speaking to Rohese, Missoni says, "I hope you do not ever have to."

Speaking to Rohese, Yardie says, "Interrogations are not that bad."

Jadedragan begins chortling at Yardie.

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris says, "For the Hall of Records, could you please state your name, where you are from, and your profession of choice."

Speaking softly to Yardie, Rohese disagrees, "Yes they are."

Lithyia nods.

(Grutak takes a few paces nearer the railing.)

Syearris gazes at Lithyia.

Speaking carefully to Jadedragan, Archales asks, "If I'm understanding your argument correctly, there are two levels of people in charge. One in charge of this group of anti krolvin elves, and a group in charge of public spaces. Is making others feel unwelcome against their established rules an what not? or is it the same group in charge of both elves and public spaces?"

Lithyia says, "I am Lithyia Octavia Medeea. I am from Ubl and my profession is...I suppose...artist."

Lithyia smiles.

Speaking to Rohese, Yardie says, "I mean, you've nothing to worry about if you didn't do it. You did well, though."

Rohese nods at Akenna.

Akenna adds Rohese to her group.

Yardie blinks.

Rohese whispers something to Akenna.

Lady Akenna's group just went northwest.

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie asks, "Octavia?"

Syearris nods slightly.

Lithyia folds her hands in her lap.

You see High Lord Grutak Eversor the Berserker.

He appears to be a Giantman of the T'Kirem Clan.

He is tall. He appears to be in the prime of life. He has piercing green eyes and fair skin. He has a bald head. He has a square-jawed face, a broken nose and a short beard.

He is in good shape.

He is holding a dragonfly etched vultite no-dachi in his right hand.

He is wearing a copper-strung columnar locket, a dull pendant suspended by a leather cord, a radiant-cut blue dreamstone necklace, a gold and red dreamstone necklace, a heavy onyx-dyed oilcloth greatcloak, an alum-bound rat hide badge, some fringed amber gloves, an imflass threaded war harness, a snow leopard pelt tote with braided suede straps, a striped broadcloth backpack with padded cordovan straps, a loose stone grey linen shirt laced with black leather cord, some enameled jet vultite plate, an arctic-blue armband with gold tusks, a simple blued steel wristchain, a star-cut beryl band, a crescent-cut beveled diamond signet, an enruned snow white pouch, some black suede pants caught with horn buttons, a pair of velvety knitted red chenille socks, and a pair of pale fur-cuffed black suede boots.

Lithyia slowly empties her lungs.

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris inquires, "And what is your status in Ta'Illistim?"

Lithyia asks, "My status?"

Lithyia says, "I simply visit when there is an event I am interesting in attending."

Aeriadrn lifts his stylus over the parchment, waiting.

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris asks, "Do you have any other ties to the city, aside from social tourism?"

Lithyia says, "None I can think of."

Meril stands up.

Aliashyrah amusedly says, "Social tourism."

Aliashyrah chuckles.

Meril just wandered up a silver-gilt staircase wrought into overlapping feathers.

Dendum rubs his hands together briskly, a look of anticipation on his face.

Draelor frowns.

Aeriadrn makes a mark on his parchment.

The sun sinks into its slow westward descent.

The sun sinks into its slow westward descent.

Lithyia gazes heavenward.

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris says, "While we were preparing to begin, you seemed to be associated with someone who was making threats against the well-being of the inquisitors and others."

Lithyia says, "Yes."

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris asks, "Do you frequently find yourself with the discontented?"

Syearris raises an eyebrow in Lithyia's direction.

Lithyia chuckles.

Lilanna grins wryly.

You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement.

Jiarine smirks.

Lithyia says, "He is my partner."

Speaking to Archales, Jadedragan says, "Since I'm confusing myself, just pare this down a little. If a government has knowledge of a group leaning on that governments authority to force their opinions or desires on others, and the government does NOT stop them. Then that government is, in essence, giving tacit approval of that groups acts."

Syearris says, "So, to clarify..."

Lithyia reaches out and touches her stained glass locket.

Speaking to Grutak, you say, "Don't sweat it, they're just trying to wind you both up."

Syearris circles around Lithyia once, with slow, thoughtful steps.

(Grutak edges closer to the railing.)

Lithyia raises an eyebrow in Syearris's direction.

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie says, "That's why I said to keep cool."

Eshenesra folds her hands behind her back.

(Lithyia sit straight up.)

Syearris asks, "You are aligned with people who would make threats against those of our city?"

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie says, "I'm mostly illiterate, but even I can read a room from time to time."

Wolfloner smiles at Yardie.

You feel the corners of your lips lift in a smirk, your eyes crinkling slightly.

Lithyia says, "I am aligned with someone who is very protective of my health and well being."

Lithyia says, "And if I may.."

Speaking to Grutak, Jadedragan says, "Neither of you are alone in this, and inaction is not most of our preffered ways of doing things."

Lithyia says, "Your prior letters did not lead to good faith in this situation."

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine mouths, "She has really low standards."

Aliashyrah gazes in amusement at Yardie.

Sorlu smirks at Jiarine.

Eshenesra says, "I don't believe anyone here penned their name to that letter."

Lithyia just opened an extravagant silvery fox fur stole.

Speaking to Jiarine, Yardie says, "Yeah, she should pick someone who doesn't know how to smile."

Syearris says, "That was a matter cleared up before today. Your... "counsel" should have advised you of it."

Yardie glances at Jiarine.

Sorlu begins chuckling at Yardie!

Queatus frowns.

Lithyia says, "My counsel...was denied being allowed in here with me."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Archales says, "Yes I can see your reasoning, I will simply point out that those who would mis use power are often quite adept at concealing their schemes."

Lithyia removes a sheet of silver-edged paper from in her fox fur stole.

Lithyia says, "Actually..."

Eshenesra asks, "Yes, but did that deny him from speaking to you before you were brought here?"

Lithyia says, "I have the letter."

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine says, "I smile a lot especially when I am talking about you behind your backs. It is really rude to do that to your face."

Lithyia says, "It is signed by him."

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine says, "Or so I have heard."

Lithyia points at Aeriadrn.

Archales says, "And I've yet to meet a person noble or no that can see everything."

Syearris glances at Eshenesra.

You release a slow, low whistle.

Lithyia says, "It says charges."

Queatus grins.

Lithyia taps a sheet of silver-edged paper, which is in her right hand.

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris says, "Your discomfort is noted."

Eshenesra quites herself.

Lithyia says, "Good."

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris asks, "Do you share in the threats against the people of our city?"

Speaking to Archales, Jadedragan says, "Sure, and you can't expect everyone to know everything and be involved everywhere. But there are some things that are rather blatant, and if not stamped out, they fester and take over even the best intentions."

Speaking to Jiarine, Yardie says, "A pity. That makes you like most people. I prefer my jabs up close and personal."

Draelor shakes his head.

Lithyia sighs.

Lithyia says, "I would like to simply answer your questions and go back home."

Lithyia put a sheet of silver-edged paper in her fox fur stole.

Lithyia just closed an extravagant silvery fox fur stole.

Syearris nods slightly.

Speaking in Elven to Yardie, Jiarine says, "I like being placed into a box and expected to behave like everyone else."

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris asks, "What are your feelings regarding the Late Lady Kasendra Malwind?"

Lithyia says, "Truly, I did not know her at all."

Archales leans forward.

Speaking to Jiarine, Yardie says, "Placed in a box and expect to...."

Speaking to Draelor, Yardie asks, "Isn't that called a coffin?"

Lithyia says, "I am sorry for what happened to her but i never had the privilege of getting to know her."

Jiarine sighs heavily.

Speaking to Yardie, Draelor says, "Certainly can be, yes."

Queatus grins.

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine asks, "Do I need to explain things in simple terms?"

Syearris whispers something to Ciradyl.

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine asks, "Possibly boorish enough for that giant to get the gist too?"

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris asks, "Where do you call home now?"

Lithyia says, "Mostly the Landing, but i have a cottage in Mist Harbor."

Jadedragan says, "I call home where I lay down at night."

Draelor says, "That's the way it should be."

You quietly whisper to Yardie, "What an unpleasant sot she is."

Editor's note: I've elected to retain the above whisper as I feel it's topical and within the bounds I believe Jiarine's roleplay established in the scene. Please contact me if that proves not to be the case.

Ciradyl murmurs to herself something about the "...jingle jangle of bells..." then glances up at the observation rooms.

Lithyia gazes heavenward.

Lithyia reaches out and touches her stained glass locket.

Lithyia closes her eyes for a moment.

Lithyia slowly empties her lungs.

Grutak's entire body tenses as he tightens his grip on his etched vultite no-dachi.

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris asks, "So you live within the empire... How did you feel about the treaties drafted during the Valley of Gold, then?"

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie says, "Settle."

Lithyia says, "I am unfamiliar with them."

Jiarine yells in Elven, "He does have a weapon up here. I did not think they were allowed?"

Speaking to Grutak, Alastir says, "You would do well to put that away."

Jiarine folds her hands.

Queatus grins.

You say, "Even the Illistimi consider the Landing taken over."

Jadedragan ponders.

Grutak glances at Alastir.

Jadedragan grins at you.

Sorlu stares at Jiarine.

Perigourd says, "It's a protectorate of the empire."

A guard walks through the room, his eyes moving over those gathered.

Perigourd shrugs nonchalantly.

Eshenesra glances up at the observation room.

You remove a feras dagger from your spidersilk harness and feel confident that no one has noticed your doing so.

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine innocently asks, "What?"

Sorlu whispers something to Grutak.

You flip your feras dagger confidently into the air, where it spins several times before dropping smoothly back into your hand.

Sorlu casually glances around the room.

Dendum frowns.

(Yardie glances at the guard.)

(Missoni nods politely to the guard.)

You glance appraisingly at Jiarine.

Speaking to Perigourd, Jadedragan says, "By their own grace, they've allowed us to live merely as a protectorate. I'm so glad we received their permission as such."

Yardie insists, "It wasn't me."

Eshenesra asks, "So you are unfamiliar with the treaties that allow for better trade, open communications, and the exchange of ideals between the Human Empire you reside in and Ta'Illistim?"

(Grutak feels the guards presence but doesn't react.)

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine teasingly says, "Pray excuse me. It seems I have had more than a glass of wine and it makes me say things outloud."

Jiarine snickers to herself.

Lithyia says, "Yes...i...honestly...most of my focus...if you can call it that...is on art."

Missoni gazes in amusement at Jiarine.

Syearris nods at Lithyia.

Wolfloner darkly says, "The protectorate is a myth."

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris says, "I have a few more questions."

Lithyia says, "I spend a lot of time just painting."

Lithyia nods at Syearris.

Speaking to Yardie, Draelor says, "You truly did nothing this time, relax."

You casually say, "I enjoy that she's reiterating the Landing's geopolitical standing."

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris asks, "Do you recall the evening of Fashantos the 4th?"

Speaking in Elven to Jiarine, Missoni asks, "How many glasses have you normally had?"

Lithyia asks, "The evening of the ball?"

Dendum starts chortling at you!

Syearris nods at Lithyia.

Lithyia says, "Yes of course, that's why...I"m here."

Lithyia begins to twitch.

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine says, "A lady never reveals how drunk she is."

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris says, "Tell me the sequence of events in your night, as you remember them."

Sorlu whispers something to Grutak.

Sorlu nods at Grutak.

Lithyia says, "Well...I recall showing up in the most fabulous ballgown..."

Lithyia smiles.

Speaking amusedly in Elven to Jiarine, Missoni says, "Wise."

Jadedragan laughs!

Perigourd chuckles.

Lilanna grins.

Lithyia says, "And then...I believe Eruien and I spoke a bit..."

Lithyia says, "He then mentioned something about lacking a dancing partner."

Jadedragan says, "Fear the stroke of her brush."

Jadedragan gazes heavenward.

Lithyia says, "And he asked if i would dance with him."

Lithyia says, "Of course I accepted, he's the living canvas."

Sorlu chuckles.

Syearris nods.

Lithyia says, "And then i, as i recall, i thanked him for it and told him i had to leave early because the Landing was going to face a threat that evening."

Yardie says, "I wouldn't call myself a canvas. Someone might be tempted to smear paint on me."

Lithyia says, "And i wanted to help defend the town."

Lithyia says, "And so I said my good byes and i left."

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine asks, "I thought that human canvas was a punching bag - all colored with bruises?"

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris inquires, "So, you left because you had to defend the town?"

Speaking suggestively to Yardie, you ask, "Not into that sort of thing?"

Lithyia says, "Yes."

Eshenesra leans forward.

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris asks, "Not because you had a meeting?"

Lithyia says, "It's what I said at the time in front of everyone."

Syearris raises an eyebrow in Lithyia's direction.

Jadedragan says, "With their seeming focus on the encroachments, or iteractions, of and with the Empire...I wonder if we should point out her association with the Thorns."

Jadedragan says, "Oh, there it is."

Lithyia says, "Yes, there was a meeting prior to the defense...that was about the defense of the town."

Syearris asks, "A meeting with whom?"

Lithyia says, "Friends."

Lithyia folds her hands in her lap.

Speaking to you, Yardie replies, "Well, with better things other than paint of course."

Sorlu nods approvingly.

Speaking to Yardie, Missoni says, "The point of the Living Canvas is to be painted upon, actually."

Lilanna nods approvingly.

Sorlu repeats, "Friends."

Syearris nods slowly.

Syearris glances at Eshenesra.

>snicker yardie

Speaking to Missoni, Yardie says, "He needs a nail appointment from me, then."

Speaking to Sorlu, Jadedragan asks, "We're all friends here right?"

Eshenesra offers, "I have the quote here..."

Lithyia raises an eyebrow in Eshenesra's direction.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Sorlu says, "That's how I view it."

Speaking to Yardie, Missoni says, "I am sure he would rather like that."

Sorlu grins at Jadedragan.

Eshenesra says, "I am off to meeting with the Black Thorns."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Grutak says, "No."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Lilanna says, "No."

Lithyia nods at Eshenesra.

Speaking in Elven to Jadedragan, Jiarine says, "No, I hate everyone."

Dendum whispers, "Well....she is doing well."

Sorlu begins chuckling at Grutak!

Lithyia says, "Yes, they are my friends."

Yardie says, "Here we go. They mentioned the Thorns."

Lithyia says, "I have a lot of friends you know."

Lithyia says, "I'm rather social."

Dendum shrugs at Yardie.

Lithyia smiles.

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris asks, "So, it is safe to say you are part of a rebellion group?"

Jadedragan grins at Yardie.

Sorlu winces.

Jadedragan grumbles.

Archales leans forward.

Queatus smirks.

Lithyia says, "I am part of a group of concerned friends."

Grutak put a dragonfly etched vultite no-dachi in his threaded war harness.

Lithyia smiles.

Lithyia begins to twitch.

Archales says, "I like her more now."

(Grutak puts his hands on the rail.)

Yardie mutters, "Stop twitching, Lithyia."

Eshenesra says, "I believe they were categorized as an anti-socialist party designed to misinform and create discontent within the protected lands of the Empire."

Sorlu brushes his fingers lightly against his thorn ring.

Syearris nods at Eshenesra.

Yardie says, "Oh wow."

Wolfloner grins coldly, his eyes reflecting no emotion.

Lithyia says, "I suppose if that's what we've been categorized as..."

You dryly say, "I've been called worse."

Jadedragan says, "I love being lied about in the evenings."

Queatus asks, "Misinform?"

Perigourd chuckles.

Sorlu grins slowly.

Grutak glances at Lilanna.

Lilanna glances at Grutak.

Queatus frowns.

Speaking incredulously to Queatus, Yardie asks, "That was the word you noticed?"

Ciradyl adds, "But for that category to reach our ears, it would come with reports and their own inquiries."

Lilanna nods at Grutak.

Lithyia says, "Though my actions of knitting for settlers in need might not line up with the idea of misinforming and discontent."

Perigourd begins chuckling at Yardie!

Lady Uniana just arrived.

Speaking to Yardie, Jadedragan says, "I noticed 'protected lands OF the Empire'."

Sorlu begins chuckling at Yardie!

Queatus shrugs.

Dendum asks, "Well we can tell Illistim's information is....coming from particular directions yes?"

Speaking to Jadedragan, Draelor says, "I only heard party."

Lithyia asks, "I certainly dont think knitting is nefarious, do you?"

Wolfloner nods at Dendum.

Queatus says, "The others words were opinions, that one was a lie."

Speaking to Dendum, you ask, "The world's certainly coming together, eh?"

Sorlu raises an eyebrow in Grutak's direction.

Speaking to Dendum, you say, "Perhaps this is the unity the apparition recommended."

Meril suggests, "Maybe it comes from the mayor."

Dendum says, "Well the trip east was worth the silvers..."

Speaking to Queatus, Jadedragan says, "I wouldn't say we're going out of our way to stir discontent."

Yardie says, "Good answer, Lith."

Jadedragan raises his honeyed citrus gin in a toast!

Eshenesra asks, "Do you feel, perhaps, that your knitting circle may hold ill will towards the late Lady Kasendra Malwind? Was it not her efforts that saved the very people trying to settle near your home?"

Speaking to you, Dendum says, "If they are getting information from the empire only then they do not have very good eyes and ears in the Free North."

Sorlu nods at Grutak.

Speaking to Draelor, Yardie asks, "So now we're being accused?"

Yardie asks, "By proxy?"

Lithyia says, "My knitting circle..."

Lithyia chuckles.

Lithyia shakes her head.

Missoni frowns.

Lithyia sighs.

Sorlu nods at Grutak.

Draelor shrugs his shoulders, lifting his wings slightly.

Speaking to Dendum, you say, "Apathy breeds ignorance."

Lithyia says, "I do not think they do hold ill will towards her."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Queatus says, "Very few are content with the imperial situation, we are not among them."

Queatus says, "They can call it stirring if they would like."

Syearris asks, "You don't think or you know?"

Speaking to Queatus, Jadedragan says, "I wasn't aware we were, in essence, fomenting rebellion."

Lithyia says, "I can not read others minds..."

Syearris nods slightly.

Syearris glances at Eshenesra.

Grutak nods at Sorlu.

Eshenesra says, "Yet, you take arms with these people."

Eshenesra says, "And I quote, "They are my friends."."

Lithyia says, "Yes, they are."

Lithyia says, "But that doesnt mean i have the ability to read their minds."

Lithyia says, "I'm but a simple artist."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Queatus says, "Well, in theory, the Landing isn't under imperial rule, so it shouldn't qualify, I wouldn't think."

Meril says, "Well, if the Illistim were curious about the group, they would have asked the Landing's mayor officially, and I suspect those might be Thadston's words."

Lithyia smiles.

Queatus nods at Meril.

Syearris nods slowly.

Speaking to Queatus, Jadedragan says, "Not how they're setting things up down there."

Speaking to Meril, Queatus says, "Likely so."

Jadedragan ponders.

Draelor says, "Quite the impartial source of information the 'ol Mayor would be too."

Eshenesra says, "A simple artist who has clandestine meetings with groups seeking violence on innocent survivors of a catastrophe."

Speaking to Meril, Yardie says, "I was removed. I left peacefully."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Queatus says, "They are using constable's tricks."

Queatus shrugs.

Speaking to Meril, Yardie says, "That's not a nefarious action."

Queatus says, "It's to be expected."

Jadedragan nods at Queatus.

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine adds, "She also aligns herself with a twit who is trying to start a war with the elves."

Lithyia asks, "A simple artist who wishes to defend a place she considers a home. Do you know who we battled that evening together..with the other people of the landing?"

Jiarine nods once.

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie says, "She means you."

Speaking to Yardie, Aliashyrah says, "He cannot understand Jiarine."

Speaking in Elven, you say, "I'm sure he'd be pleased to know you think he has the power to start a war."

Syearris nods slightly at Lithyia.

Speaking to Yardie, Aliashyrah says, "Which is just as well."

Syearris says, "We are aware."

Lithyia says, "I would hope so."

Lithyia says, "Or i'd be disappointed with your intellegence."

Lithyia smiles.

Syearris says, "It seems to be ill-timed luck on your part. Or ill-timed poor decisions."

Eshenesra nods at Syearris.

Sorlu chuckles.

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris says, "One last question."

Lithyia says, "Yes, I seem to live a life full of ill-timed poor decisions."

Lithyia smiles.

Grutak says, "Jiarine flaps her lips so much I feel a breeze. At least I'm understandable."

Lithyia nods at Syearris.

Ciradyl laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.

Speaking in Elven to Jiarine, Queatus asks, "The giant can't understand Elven, would you like me to translate for you?"

Perigourd breathes in deeply as he clenches a pipe in his mouth, then exhales slowly, causing some pale amorphous clouds of puffy smoke to float up from his mouth.

Queatus nods at Grutak.

Sorlu grins.

Lilanna chuckles.

Lithyia says, "I'm glad you understood my sarcasm."

Lithyia smiles at Ciradyl.

Lithyia folds her hands in her lap.

Lithyia begins to twitch.

Speaking in Elven, Alastir says, "I wonder if Grutak is one of her ill-timed poor decisions."

Speaking in Elven to Queatus, Jiarine says, "No."

Queatus nods at Jiarine.

Jiarine snickers at Alastir.

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris asks, "Did you see Lady Kasendra Malwind on your ill-timed departure, or anyone that may have aroused suspicion upon retrospection?"

Archales inclines his ear, listening intently.

Speaking in Elven, Queatus says, "I see."

Speaking in Elven to Alastir, Jiarine says, "We all have one of those."

Jiarine sighs.

Jadedragan grins at Dendum.

Lithyia says, "To be completely honest with you, I was not focused on Lady Malwind...I was focused on wishing a farewell to Eruien, because he was to be heading home and i had enjoyed his art class a few days prior and the dance we had just shared that evening."

Lithyia says, "So i did not notice her."

Lithyia says, "Nor much of anything else."

Syearris nods.

Syearris glances at Eshenesra.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Yardie says, "Not exactly."

Missoni slowly empties her lungs.

Syearris glances at Ciradyl.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Yardie says, "I understood you."

Syearris says, "One moment."

Lithyia nods at Syearris.

You lean forward.

Speaking to Yardie, Jadedragan says, "You keep taking away all my fun."

Jadedragan grins at Yardie.

Starting at the temple, you run your hands along your head and gather all of your nape-length hair into one hand. You carefully check to make sure you have all the strands, and then tie it into a simple pony tail.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Yardie asks, "Imagine if I was wanted for murder?"

Speaking to Jadedragan, Draelor says, "It's a talent."

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine asks, "Is this the part where she is asked how her knuckle dragging partner felt about her dancing with someone else?"

Yardie snickers at Jadedragan.

Jadedragan emits a noise that is a combination of laughter and barking, his eyes trained on Yardie and full of amusement.

Aeriadrn notes a few things on his parchment before nodding.

Syearris whispers something to Ciradyl.

Eshenesra nods.

Ciradyl nods in agreement at Syearris.

Ceilia subtly readies herself for a leap.

Alastir laughs softly, trying to hide his amusement.

Missoni's expression briefly flickers with bewilderment.

Aeriadrn smiles at Lithyia.

Syearris says, "We thank you for your cooperation."

Lithyia nods at Syearris.

Lithyia stands up.

Earthdiver's expression briefly flickers with bewilderment.

Speaking curiously to Grutak, Yardie inquires, "Do you drag your knuckles when you walk?"

Speaking to Lithyia, Syearris says, "You are free to rejoin your... friends... upstairs."

Speaking calmly to Grutak, Aliashyrah says, "Your concern was unwarranted. They would do nothing in such a public setting."

Lithyia says, "Good."

Speaking to Yardie, Grutak says, "No."

Lithyia snickers.

Speaking to Grutak, Yardie says, "Just wanted to know. Asking for someone."

Mistress Lithyia just went through a duo of heavy-handled doors.

You sniff.

Queatus grins at Yardie.

Aeriadrn makes a mark on his sheet.

Syearris glances at a duo of heavy-handled doors.

Wolfloner nods.

You undo the simple tie binding your nape-length hair and shake your head, which causes your now-loose tresses to fall around your face.

Mistress Lithyia just wandered up a silver-gilt staircase wrought into overlapping feathers.

Lithyia slowly empties her lungs.

Lucrecea

Speaking to Aliashyrah, Jadedragan says, "You have more faith in those in power, than I will ever have."

Wolfloner nods.

Inquisitor Eshenesra just went through a multi-locked blued imflass door.

Lithyia says, "Just...UGH."

Lithyia sneers.

Speaking to Lithyia, Sorlu says, "Well done."

Speaking darkly to Lithyia, Wolfloner says, "Well done."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Aliashyrah says, "I have faith in people's need to maintain appearances."

Speaking to Lithyia, Jadedragan exclaims, "We're fomenting rebellion!"

Speaking to Lithyia, Queatus says, "You did well."

Lithyia says, "I am.... I wont say how I am feeling right now."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Aliashyrah says, "Those in power and those without."

Lithyia begins to twitch.

Speaking warmly to Lithyia, Missoni says, "You did just fine."

Yardie gives Lithyia a friendly hug.

Inquisitor Eshenesra's group just came through a multi-locked blued imflass door.

Grutak says, "Jairine is a coward. Anyone who would talk behind someone's back, berate them and further denigrate them and not vocalize it is... worthless. You never know, even as a friend, if they'll talk about you."

Lithyia turns to face Grutak.

Jadedragan shrugs at Aliashyrah.

Lithyia smiles at Grutak.

Speaking to Lithyia, Grutak says, "You want to stay or go."

Lucrecea shifts her eyes.

Eshenesra says, "If you would please take a seat, we will begin momentarily."

Lithyia says, "I'll leave that up to you."

Lucrecea says, "Oh dear."

Eshenesra joins Syearris's group.

Lucrecea leans forward.

(Lucrecea eyes one of the mirrored walls and carefully reaches back with a hand, untangling a few errant locks of hair on the back of her head before smoothing it down.)

Lucrecea nods approvingly.

Lucrecea slowly approaches the silk-cushioned chair, her steps echoing against the marble floor as she sits down.

Aeriadrn smiles at Lucrecea.

Speaking to Aliashyrah, Jadedragan says, "Power is the only thing that matters, you can shape your apperance, even if doing something evil, with power."

You quietly whisper to Lithyia, "You did very well under pressure."

Lithyia whispers, "Thank you."

Lucrecea smiles at Aeriadrn.

Speaking to Lithyia, Grutak says, "I should say as long as Sorlu is here."

Speaking to Aliashyrah, Jadedragan says, "But maybe that's the bitterness leaking out."

Lithyia nods at Grutak.

Faerinn just arrived.

Sorlu whispers something to Lithyia.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Aliashyrah says, "True, though it is more difficult if you invite eyes to watch."

Lithyia hugs Faerinn, who wraps her in a warm embrace.

Lithyia says, "Thank you all for being here."

Eshenesra formally says, "For the Hall of Records, could you please state your name, where you are from, and your profession of choice."

Sorlu nods at Aliashyrah.

Lucrecea says, "Of course."

Lucrecea says, "Lucrecea Ruin of the Ardenai."

Lucrecea inclines her head.

Aliashyrah smirks at Sorlu.

Lithyia slowly empties her lungs.

Sorlu begins chuckling at Aliashyrah!

Speaking to Lithyia, Grutak says, "Your a know associate of a rebel alliance."

Syearris raises an eyebrow in Lucrecea's direction.

Lucrecea says, "I hail originally from north of Ta'Ardenai, near the edge of the Darkling Wood."

Lithyia says, "I am."

Eshenesra asks, "And what is your profession of choice?"

Lucrecea says, "I am an antiquarian, although I recently assisted with a historical architectural rennovation project locally."

Faerinn says, "I am very uneasey about the Living Canvas."

Eshenesra nods.

Eshenesra asks, "For the record, what is your status within the Shining City?"

Lithyia nods at Faerinn.

Faerinn says, "He hasn't shown up yet."

Lithyia says, "I know they read his letter to me."

Lucrecea says, "I am recognized as a citizen of Ta'Illistim."

Speaking to Lithyia, Faerinn asks, "Who else is left to go after Lady Ruin there?"

Eshenesra asks, "And recognized as a member of one of her schools, yes?"

Aliashyrah glances appraisingly between Lithyia and Grutak.

Lucrecea smiles.

Lithyia smiles at Aliashyrah.

Sorlu grins at Aliashyrah.

Lithyia says, "There was another down there...from Ta'Ardenai i believe."

Draelor says, "Oddly different questions."

Lucrecea says, "I am affiliated with two organizations that are local to here, Moonstone Abbey and the Ilyan Syndicate."

Speaking to Lithyia, Grutak asks, "Shall we head to the chronomage?"

Lithyia says, "Yes, let's get out of this city."

Eshenesra nods.

Grutak says, "The stink of elves is getting thick here."

Lithyia says, "Thank you again everyone."

Faerinn says, "Good luck and have a good evening."

Yardie quietly repeats, "Ilyan Syndicate."

Lithyia says, "The city is lovely but i cannot stay a moment longer."

Speaking in Elven, Jiarine says, "It is better off with your depature."

Syearris whispers something to Eshenesra.

Lucrecea adds, "And I have worked on a historical study that is nearly completed, which is intended to be submitted to the Masters of Lore."

Lucrecea admits, "I did share some of its contents publicly already."

Eshenesra says, "It would seem that the Syndicate is ... turbulent. We have many being questioned."

Eshenesra asks, "What do you equate this to?"

Speaking to Faerinn, Meril says, "Lord Eruien was the first to follow Kasendra out of the ballroom. It is likely they will wish to put all the scattered pieces of the timeline in place first, before they speak to any who are likely to have seen her in the halls. Perhaps we will not see him today."

Lucrecea asks, "Is that so?"

(Lucrecea offers a light shrug.)

Lucrecea says, "I could not begin to wonder why you are questioning many of its members."

Yardie asks, "I'm not the sharpest knife in the shed, but there's rarely any good done from a 'Syndicate' you know?"

Lucrecea says, "However, I'm sure that you have a good reason."

Lucrecea smiles at Eshenesra.

Speaking to Yardie, Draelor says, "Drawer, Yardie."

Eshenesra asks, "Do you think find that these associates are often in conflict with the path the Mirror has taken?"

Speaking to Draelor, Yardie says, "Writer. I don't paint."

Draelor blinks at Yardie.

Lucrecea says, "The Ilyan Syndicate is an organization that is pledged to furthering elven culture and influence, to better those of all the City-States, and to provide a venue for open discussion."

Eshenesra asks, "And it doesn't feel as though its culture is being trampled due to the human influence bleeding into the city?"

Speaking to Eshenesra, Lucrecea asks, "Trampled?"

Yardie asks, "Okay, how she described that?"

Eshenesra says, "A turn of phrase."

Eshenesra smiles with a show of teeth.

Speaking to Eshenesra, Lucrecea asks, "You do realize that there is a human member of the Syndicate..?"

Yardie says, "That sounds just as bad as the thorn description the interrogators gave earlier."

Dendum starts chortling.

Lucrecea furrows her brow.

Syearris notes, "Who is also being questioned."

Speaking to Yardie, you say, "Casually accepting of Imperial expansion in one breath, concerned about it's effect on culture in the next."

Speaking to Yardie, Aliashyrah asks, "Of course. Do you expect her to paint them in a good light?"

Lucrecea lightly says, "I'm sure that he will have much to say."

Eshenesra says, "We are most interested in what you have to say at this time."

Speaking to Yardie, Aliashyrah says, "The goal is to get them off balance or even defensive in hopes they say something unguarded."

Aliashyrah shrugs at Yardie.

Lucrecea says, "Of course. That is why I am here."

Speaking to Yardie, Aliashyrah says, "The inquisitor may or may not actually view the organizations in that light at all."

Eshenesra asks, "Since you have decided to answer a question with a question, would you like to proceed with a statement?"

Speaking to Aliashyrah, Yardie says, "Right, but that description came from Lucrecea...not the interrogator."

Speaking to Aliashyrah, Yardie says, "It's...eyebrow raising."

Jiarine takes a slow, deep breath then pinches the bridge of her nose.

Jiarine just went northwest.

Lucrecea says, "I feel like I have been forthcoming so far. I apologize if my answers are not suffiieint for you."

Lucrecea clears her throat.

Speaking in Elven, Lucrecea corrects, "Sufficient."

Eshenesra asks, "Perhaps I should rephrase the question?"

Lucrecea says, "Yes, please."

Aeriadrn pens a few words on his parchment.

Speaking to Yardie, Aliashyrah says, "There have been many insights this evening."

Sorlu agrees with Aliashyrah.

Eshenesra asks, "Given that your organization is responsible for ... " She glances over her notes. " ... the furthering elven culture and influence, to better those of all the City-States, and to provide a venue for open discussion. How do you reconcil the Human influence being allowed to spread through the city?"

Lucrecea says, "Clearly the Argent Mirror is eager to pursue a progressive stance with regard to the west, which of course is her right as soverieng monarch of these lands. I do not see how that conflicts with sharing elven culture with those who would appreciate it."

A low thrum and grind of gears emanates from Perigourd's leather kit.

Eshenesra asks, "There are some within the city that feel as though it is tamping out the Elven voice and ... " She glances at her notes again. "... adding human ideal to the City-State. Would this not be in direct conflict with your group?"

Lucrecea says, "It is possible that some may believe that. I cannot speak for all members of the Syndicate; the organization is not a monolith."

Eshenesra nods once.

Eshenesra asks, "What are your feelings regarding the late Lady Kasendra Malwind?"

Lucrecea says, "I believe I met her only in passing two, perhaps three, times, so I can't really say that I know her well. I don't believe we ever even spoke directly."

Lucrecea says, "Her death is surely a tragedy, however."

Eshenesra says, "How ... detached a statement."'

Eshenesra asks, "What are your feelings on the treaties drafted during the Valley of Gold?"

Lucrecea smiles at Eshenesra.

Lucrecea says, "They open up many trade opportunities."

Lucrecea intertwines her fingers.

Eshenesra asks, "Yes, so they do. Yet, they also invite influence. How do you feel specifically about the treaties?"

(Lucrecea offers a light shrug.)

Lucrecea repeats, "They open up many trade opportunities. I have no strong feelings beyond that, as they largely are between the Argent Mirror and the Empire."

Eshenesra says, "How ... noncommital of you. An interesting choice of tactics."

Lucrecea says, "Thank you."

Eshenesra asks, "Do you remember the evening of Fashantos the 3rd?"

Lucrecea asks, "Is that the date of the ill-fated ball?"

Speaking to Eshenesra, Ciradyl corrects, "It was the 4th, Inquisitor, I know the hour grows late."

Faerinn says, "That's a different date."

Eshenesra says, "Indeed."

Lucrecea nods slowly.

Lucrecea says, "I remember some of the evening of the ball, yes, whatever date it might have been."

Aeriadrn writes a few sentences before glancing up.

Eshenesra asks, "Are you single, Ms. Ruin?"

From nearby, you hear Gutstorm yell, "Yeah, are ye shingle?"

Lucrecea looks thoughtfully at Eshenesra.

Faerinn says, "Nows a strange time to fish for a date."

Lucrecea asks, "Are you propositioning me or merely inquiring?"

You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement.

Eshenesra says, "It is an inquiry."

Lucrecea inclines her head.

Lucrecea says, "I am not in a commited relationship, no."

Draelor asks, "Is it ever really a strange time if it's a thing Gutstorm is doing?"

Faerinn says, "Oh I meant the Inquisitor."

Eshenesra asks, "So, that means you do qualify to be able to hold the office of a Handmaiden?"

Lucrecea furrows her brow.

Lucrecea says, "I suppose I do now that the restriction on only those of Illistim blood may apply has been lifted."

Eshenesra says, "We have heard that it ranckled many elves that the Lady Kasendra was so close to the Mirror while they remained so far."

Eshenesra asks, "Were you one such elf?"

Lucrecea asks, "From other elves? Or from Illistim elves specifically?"

Lucrecea furrows her brow.

Eshenesra asks, "Does it matter?"

Eshenesra says, "I'm more interested in how it sits with you."

Lucrecea says, "I suppose not. I'm trying to better understand your question."

Lucrecea says, "I did find some of the initial announcements a bit confusing given that some referenced her as a Handmaiden, and some referenced her as being invited to court in more of an ambassador role, however once it was clear that she served in the role of the latter, I found nothing at all unusual about that."

Eshenesra asks, "And before it was clarified? Other than confusion did you feel ire?"

Lucrecea says, "Ire? Why would I? I have no desire to be a Handmaiden."

Eshenesra nods.

Eshenesra asks, "Can you relate for, in your own words, what transpired during the ball?"

Lucrecea says, "Certainly."

Lucrecea says, "I arrived a bit after it started. There were a lot of people there, most refusing stubbornly to dance and preferring to linger on the edges. Some ate a significant amount of cheese. After a time, I grew tired of the crowd and left."

Aeriadrn makes a few notes, his stylus making a soft scratching sound.

Eshenesra asks, "And do you remember where Lady Malwind was during this time?"

Lucrecea adds, "It was quite a normal ball by local standards, to be honest. At least until after I had left."

Dendum turns to face Faerinn.

Speaking to Faerinn, Dendum says, "Question."

Faerinn asks, "Yes?"

Speaking to Faerinn, Dendum asks, "What does this mean anti socialist?"

You glance appraisingly at Dendum.

Lucrecea says, "Not particularly, no. I recall her dancing at one point when Lady Greyvael and I had a brief conversation, but not much beyond that."

Dendum shrugs at you.

Meril leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, a thoughtful expression on her face.

Faerinn says, "I don't think the inquisitors know rightly themselves."

Speaking to you, Dendum says, ""Wish to know if we are or are not this thing...not so familiar with all the elven terms."

Eshenesra says, "We have reports that... " She riffles through her notes. "Lady Ruin lingered overlong in the hallway."

Dendum says, "But since they are wrong on everything else assume we are not this thing."

Speaking to Lucrecea, Eshenesra asks, "What was the purpose of this?"

Speaking to Dendum, you say, "More a geopolitical term than a specifically Elven one."

Faerinn asks, "If I understand correctly....that means we are against socialists?"

Lucrecea says, "Was that when I was arriving? I was likely fixing my hair."

Lucrecea runs a hand through her gentle curls of long silky raven black hair, trying to make herself presentable.

Eshenesra says, "Yes, you do seem preoccupied by its lay."

You say, "I'm not sure she used it for any other purpose than winding Lithyia up."

Dendum asks, "Are...we...against socialist?"

Lucrecea says, "Thank you. I'm quite proud of it."

Lucrecea smiles at Eshenesra.

Queatus chuckles.

Faerinn says, "So I guess they mean we are against taking back the land of the Landing."

Eshenesra asks, "We note, as have you, that you left early, before the Lady Kasendra, can you explain why and what the purpose was?"

Faerinn says, "So they missed the point entirely."

Ciradyl subtly glances over at Syearris and mouths, "Greyvael."

Lucrecea says, "I don't like crowds. It is rare that I linger long at any ball, as usually they are quite possesed in such crowds. I left to retire for the evening because I had had enough of the crowd."

You say, "Likely meant opposition to Imperial society, which she implied Wehnimer's Landing is a part of."

Dendum says, "Ahh."

Draelor says, "They may just be throwing lines every direction and just hoping to catch someone to pin the blame on."

Dendum says, "Ahh."

Dendum nods sagely.

Lucrecea says, "I do love balls, but in truth I think I love the idea of them more than the reality."

Lucrecea smiles sadly.

Dendum says, "Theys peak nonsense."

Editor's note: I've corrected a few typos but have left this one in place as context for the subsequent wordplay.

Syearris nods slightly at Ciradyl.

Eshenesra asks, "Did you pass the Lady or meet her outside of the ballroom?"

You nod in agreement.

You deadpan, "Peak nonsense."

Lucrecea says, "Lady Kasendra? I don't recall seeing her when I left."

Eshenesra says, "Thank you."

Eshenesra turns around.

Lucrecea says, "You're welcome."

Dendum says, "They stand at the peak of nonsense."

Eshenesra whispers quietly with the other inquisitors.

Lucrecea intertwines her fingers.

Ciradyl looks over at Eshenesra and shakes her head.

Eshenesra nods slowly.

Eshenesra turns to face Lucrecea.

Dendum says, "Well hopefully their ability to capture the killer of the young Malwind is better than their information gathering people."

Lucrecea gazes with interest at Eshenesra.

Speaking to Lucrecea, Eshenesra says, "We thank you for your time and understand. You are free to go."

Aeriadrn scratches a few lines on his parchment.

Syearris bows to Lucrecea.

Lucrecea inclines her head.

Lucrecea stands up.

Lucrecea says, "Good day, then."

Lady Lucrecea just went through a duo of heavy-handled doors.

The flames surrounding Earthdiver's black boots blaze up for a moment.

Lady Lucrecea just wandered up a silver-gilt staircase wrought into overlapping feathers.

Lady Lucrecea just went northwest.

Aeriadrn nods.

Inquisitor Ciradyl just went through a multi-locked blued imflass door.

Aeriadrn says, "The Argent Mirror thanks you all for your service."

Eshenesra nods.

Aeriadrn nods.

Eshenesra says, "The topics are distasteful, though we are rarely called in for anything but."

Inquisitor Ciradyl just came through a multi-locked blued imflass door.

Lady Fennelis just came through a multi-locked blued imflass door.

Faerinn yells, "I will, but I think you all are forgetting someone."

Ciradyl announces, "Lady Asja has agreed to postpone her inquiry, as the hour has grown late."

Fennelis nods at Ciradyl.

Ciradyl bows to Fennelis.

Eshenesra nods appreciatively.

Straightening his back, Aeriadrn gives a formal, low bow to Fennelis. He inclines his head as well, giving Fennelis a brief nod.

Ciradyl continues, "We thank you all for your cooperation and civility this afternoon, we are adjourned."

Fennelis says, "I appreciate how eell you have treated a membver of my house."

Dendum asks, "Well at least Ta'vaalor got its spy master back?"

Ciradyl bows to Fennelis.

Eshenesra inclines her head.

Fennelis says, "I will be certain to include that in my reports back home."

Syearris nods at Fennelis.

Aeriadrn nods at Fennelis.

Meril shrugs at Dendum.

Speaking simply to Fennelis, Ciradyl says, "We are here to seek the truth, but we are not without our manners, Lady Asja."

Fennelis smiles.

Aeriadrn says, "I will write my report for the Argent Mirror."

Aeriadrn's bow is graceful, if perfunctory. He follows the bow with a brief nod of his head.

Ciradyl nods once at Eshenesra.

Aeriadrn turns around.

Lord Aeriadrn just went through a duo of heavy-handled doors.

Inquisitor Eshenesra just went through a multi-locked blued imflass door.

Lady Fennelis just went through a duo of heavy-handled doors.

Lady Fennelis just wandered up a silver-gilt staircase wrought into overlapping feathers.

You see Lady Fennelis Asja Ardenai the Envoy of the Evergreen Court.

She appears to be an Elf.

She is of a slight height and has a well-toned, petite build. She appears to be in the bloom of youth. She has thick-lashed heliotrope eyes and flawless ivory skin. She has hip-length, voluminous caramel-brushed blonde hair threaded through a geldaralad of twisted faenor suspending a blackened jade solitaire and pulled high into a tousled sinew-bound ponytail.

She has an inked spray of nightshade blooms on her arm.

She is in good shape.

She is holding an excellent brilliant golden origami wyvern in her right hand.

She is wearing a a multi-chained lariat of irregular jade slivers, a knee-length ebony panne robe bound elbow-to-wrist with faenor bands, a slender vaelfyren ring encircling the right middle finger, a pair of matte corbeau leather leggings, and some slouched dark leather ankle boots on green glass heels.

Speaking to Syearris, Ciradyl says, "She has elected to rest for awhile within the chamber, to collect her thoughts."

Lady Fennelis just went northwest.

Ciradyl glances at a duo of heavy-handled doors.

Dendum mutters under his breath.

Ciradyl laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.

Syearris nods at Ciradyl.

Speaking to Ciradyl, Syearris asks, "Shall we?"

Syearris grabs Ciradyl's hand.

Ciradyl nods at Syearris.
