Prayer Altar

The Prayer Altar is a portable fluff altar or shrine. When placed on the ground, it provides several devotional interactions whose messaging changes according to the character's posture and ability to speak. A dropped altar is temporarily protected from being picked up by other characters, but not from the janitor. Off-the-Shelf The altar provides four devotional fluff verbs. Dropping it prevents other characters, except the janitor, from picking it up for eight hours. Analyze You analyze your marble altar and sense that the creator has provided the following information: This item may be altered by a talented merchant, so long as the item remains "shrine" or "altar" and is in-line that type of item's purpose and size. You can PUSH, PULL, KISS, and TOUCH the marble altar. If you drop the altar, only you (and the janitor) can pick it up until 8 hours has passed. After that, it is up for grabs by anyone. PULL Not prone You pull your marble altar closer to you, eyeing the area for any would-be thieves or enemies. — XXX pulls a marble altar closer to himself while casting a suspicious eye about the area. PULL Prone You place both hands palms-up on your marble altar, silently praying, and look up to the heavens with a smile. — XXX places both hands palms-up on a marble altar and looks up to the heavens while smiling. PUSH Not prone You slam your fist on the top of your marble altar and glare up towards the heavens with anger. — XXX slams his fist on the top of a marble altar and glares up towards the heavens. PUSH Prone; silenced You place your hands over your marble altar and angrily push down on it. — XXX places his hands over a marble altar and angrily pushes down on it. PUSH Prone You place your hands over your marble altar and push down on it. You then look up and zealously recite several words of verse. — XXX places his hands over the top of a marble altar. Additional information The altar must be on the ground before its devotional verbs will activate. Dropping the altar temporarily records the character who placed it. For the following eight hours, only that character can retrieve it normally. The janitor can still collect a dropped altar during its protection period. After eight hours, any character may pick up the altar. Using a devotional verb removes the character from hiding. The item may be altered, including its base, long, and show descriptions, but must remain a suitably sized altar or shrine.
