Premium Fest 5123

I had previously announced that "Premium Fest" would be referred to as the "Isle of Four Winds Craft Faire" going forward, largely so that I could have an in-character, in-game name for the event. We're rolling that back for this year, though, and I will be introducing a new bit of Iyo lore that will give us an in-character 'name' for Premium Fest going forward. For this year, though, we're officially titling it, "Premium Fest 5123: Return to the Iyo Grove."

We're going to be starting off at 8pm EST on Friday the 26th of May, and finishing up at 11:45pm EST on Tuesday the 30th of May. There will be RP activities daily, with the exception of Tuesday. Friday night's RP activities will set the stage for the subsequent days, and give an idea of the schedule so that people can plan. I will be trying to have events in the early afternoon, EST, to try and give people as much of a chance to play along as I can. Fair warning, this is not really a 'storyline' as it is a celebration, with "stuff to do" for the players on each day.

We have a fairly large number of services/raffles this time around, and as always they run the gamut in terms of value. I think we probably have something for everyone (or close, anyway).

The automated games will be returning, and there are prizes to be won. Scarcity/value remains largely in line with what was offered last year. There are some pretty nice things in the Jackpot feeder, though they're not on the level of Mania items or anything of the sort. Still, feel free to come take a swing!

The Wermwagon will be making its final appearance this year, with all new "Wermth" to be won. Get them this year before they get put back on a shelf! The runestaff lathe will similarly be available for those looking to play around with that.

This festival's storyline/celebration will be somewhat lore-intensive, as we're going to learn a good amount about the Iyo through the course of the festival. This is a celebration of togetherness, where the Iyo traditionally look back at the year that's past, then look at present times, and then look to the future together. Expect a few surprises, and hopefully a good time!

As we approach the Festival, I'll be providing some (not a huge amount of) spoilers.

Some people have already seen Spirit Fire instruments in action, but that's a new script that will be debuting this Premium Fest. It's a fluff script that goes on an instrument, and when the instrument is PLAYed, the instrumentalist is surrounded by ethereal flames that 'dance' along with the music.

Instruments with this script on them will be available for sale off the shelf at Premium Fest.

Adding of this script to existing instruments will be a raffle-level service, and a couple of these are likely to be offered at Premium Fest.

To the residents of Mist Harbor:

I would like to take this opportunity to formally invite the residents of Mist Harbor to join the Iyo for this year's Yshollis.  The festival will be held from the 26th of Ivastaen until the 30th, and is held in the Iyo Glade, which all were invited to last year.  Mzholl will be held on the evening of the 27th, with Shayer Doss and Peshys following in sequence.

Yshollis is a traditional three-night festival held each Spring, and began as a simple festival of reawakening and gratitude.  Historically, this festival has been solely for the Iyo, but the heads of the families have conferred and agreed that we may extend an invitation to those who have stood with the Iyo in recent years.

The first night of the festival is known as Mzholl, which can be very loosely translated as 'night of cleansing'.  The second night is Shayer Doss, which translates to 'evening of assessment', and the third night is Peshys, which can be interpreted as 'treading the correct path'.

Each evening of the festival has its own small rituals and events, but the overall intent of Yshollis is to celebrate the togetherness that binds all Iyo into something far greater than the sum of our individual parts.

In many ways, Yshollis will seem familiar to those who were in attendance last summer, as we have made efforts to invite many of the same merchants from last year to attend as well, and to bring their wares for visitors to purchase.  There will be games, raffles, and various services of all kinds.  Several of the heads of Families have donated rather unique items which will be made available throughout the festival.  As with last year, any and all silvers gathered will be donated directly to the administration of the Harbor, for them to use as they see fit.

I would like to relay my personal hopes that those who attend will do so in the spirit of Yshollis, realizing that those who call the Isle of the Four Winds home are united in all of the most important ways.

We look forward to sharing Yshollis with you.

RP/"Storyline" Schedule:

While there will be plenty of opportunities for RP with the Iyo outside of this structure, here are the 'official' celebration times:

Friday the 26th: 830pm EST

Saturday: 5pm EST (Mzholl)

Sunday: 3pm EST (Shayer Doss)

Monday: 8pm EST (Peshys)

All times are rough, in that it could be delayed by a half an hour or so depending on how things are going.

In each instance, I'm planning for the 'event' to take around an hour. Potentially a little less so for the first night (the welcome speech) and Sunday (Shayer Doss).

Extending Premium Fest

Hey all - We're going to be extending Premium Fest a bit. Grounds will now close Thursday night at 8pm EST. This is to give people a little more time to shop, and potentially to also allow some GMs to offer work during the extended period. There will not be any storyline activity of any sort during the extra time, though there may be some Iyo around for you guys to socialize with.
