Introduction

[Silverwood Manor, Quiet Garden]

A pair of stained glass doors open directly into the garden, where a well-manicured carpet of verdant grass is surrounded by a circle of stately haon trees. The strong trunks and layered green leaves create a quiet area of insulated serenity. Moonlight glints on the waters of a perfectly round pond at the center of the area, the surface dotted with glowing white votives. Daisies sprout at the base of an elaborate polished marble statue. You also see the Redwar disk, the Meril disk, the Zioni disk, a silver-traced carved mahogany cart with some stuff on it, a small fire burning within a ring of stones, a flat oak log, a wide wooden log and an eternal flame.

Also here: Lorekeeper Leafiara, Redwar who is sitting, Meril who is sitting, Gwrawr, Lorekeeper Jervil, Zioni who is sitting, Mauss who is sitting

Mentor Giogionni just arrived.

Mentor Missandai just arrived.

Leafiara exclaims, "There we go, there's everyone neatly gathered!"

Speaking to Jervil, Leafiara asks, "We ready to get started?"

Leafiara grins.

Jervil grins.

Jervil nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Jervil says, "Sorry, for some reason I thought you were asking the room."

Jervil grins at Leafiara.

Leafiara chuckles.

Leafiara says, "Well, I guess I should ask them too."

Leafiara laughs with delight, her eyes full of merriment.

Leafiara loudly inquires, "Is everyone ready to get started?"

Speaking to Jervil, Giogionni says, "The room can't talk, but oh, if it could...."

Zioni nods at Leafiara.

Siierra nods enthusiastically at Leafiara!

Gwrawr nods eagerly.

Leafiara exclaims, "Perfect!"

Mauss enthuses, "I already did!!"

Leafiara exclaims, "Then, on behalf of Silverwood Manor, welcome to: Nothing to Fear but Gear Itself! I'm Leafiara, this is Jervil, and we're here to demystify gear properties for you!"

Leafiara points at Jervil.

Leafiara places one foot behind the other and drops into a respectful curtsy, a swirl of glimmering cherry red hues surrounding her body.

Jervil strikes a heroic pose.

Leafiara grins at Jervil.

Jervil flashes a wide grin.

Leafiara adds, "I should also note that this is an OOC event so we can freely discuss the mechanical topics tonight in case you all want to get into numbers and the like."

Leafiara chuckles.

Jervil nods.

Leafiara says, "Which, you know, you probably will."

Leafiara grins.

Jervil says, "Would be very difficult otherwise."

Leafiara nods.

Leafiara says, "One more thing to go over before we get into it..."

Leafiara says, "People have come up with different ways to categorize gear properties, but the one we'll be referencing tonight is the system players invented years ago, for what they called the Charts of Clarity. It breaks item properties down into four broad categories of A, B, C, and D, which we'll no doubt touch on as we go." [post-event addendum: Clarifying this a little... Based on additional information offered by Geijon's player, basically, players had been working to categorize everything and understand their items. Eventually, in 2014, former GM Finros came along to confirm what was known and fill in some gaps.]

Leafiara says, "I'll reiterate again that it's player-generated."

Jervil grins at Giogionni.

Leafiara says, "GMs use a different system, so we might well end up cross-referencing differences."

Leafiara says, "Personally, I'd prefer to invent an entirely new classification system, but it's hard to fight a decade of momentum."

Leafiara chuckles.

Speaking to Leafiara, Giogionni says, "Fight the power."

Jervil grins.

Mauss exclaims, "Cheap, an' expensive!!"

Leafiara gazes in amusement at her surroundings.

Leafiara grins at Giogionni.

Category A Properties

Leafiara says, "Okay, so taking it from the top..."

Leafiara says, "Category A generally consists of what I'll describe as the base properties of an item, things that every item has in some form or other."

Leafiara says, "This includes what it looks like (its alter), how much AS/DS it gives, the material it's made out of (what shows when you INSPECT it), and any innate benefits of that material. Most materials don't have innate benefits, but some like adamantine, white ora, eonake, faewood, or ghezyte do."

Speaking to Leafiara, Jervil says, "Bless you."

Leafiara gazes in amusement at her surroundings.

Jervil starts chortling.

Giogionni whispers something to Jervil.

Speaking to Jervil, Mauss whispers aloud, "I see whatcha did dere."

Leafiara says, "We don't need to spend much time on Category A since these are the straightforward properties that generally 'are what they are.' There are very limited numbers of ways to change most of them, other than the enchant level."

Jervil nods.

Jervil says, "Innate properties almost all items have."

Leafiara says, "Which... I really don't agree with enchant even being in Category A, but, again... decade of momentum."

Leafiara snickers.

Jervil says, "Simple stuffs."

Jervil nods.

Category B Properties

Jervil says, "Category B is a larger list, but is limited, in that you can only have 1 item from the list per item."

Jervil says, "This would include things such as standard flares for weapons and armor, defensive bonus - not to be confused with the enchant, etc."

Jervil says, "This also includes some of the more uncommon flares, like mana flares, acuity, dispel, etc."

Jervil says, "The list is decently large, and there is a list up on the wiki if you wish to look it over at some point."

Meril asks, "TD bonus as well?"

Leafiara nods at Meril.

Jervil nods at Meril.

Jervil says, "Yep, TD as well."

Leafiara says, "Before we move on to Category C, a clarifying point..."

Leafiara says, "Sort of inspired by what Meril raised."

Leafiara says, "Players will interchangeably call this Category B, the 'flare slot,' or even the 'ability slot'."

Jervil says, "Which causes even more confusion, thus this conversation."

Jervil chuckles.

Leafiara says, "It's easy to understand how it came to be called the flare slot by players, because that's what you'll most often see there."

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Leafiara says, "But in reality, things like TD bonus and defender weapons go there too."

Jervil nods.

Leafiara says, "And it gets all the more confusing because the *script* slot that we'll be discussing later can also have its own flares, depending on the script."

Leafiara chuckles.

Jervil says, "And category D makes it even more muddy, but we'll get to that."

Leafiara agrees with Jervil.

Jervil grins at Leafiara.

Leafiara cackles!

Quick Questions

Leafiara asks, "Did anyone have any questions about Categories A and B before we move on?"

Mauss raises his hand.

Leafiara says, "Truthfully, we're not even at the complex parts yet, so."

Leafiara says, "Making sure we're moving at a reasonable pace."

Leafiara chuckles.

Leafiara points at Mauss.

Mauss asks, "So's if a thing has a TD bonus, it can't have Cat B flares?"

Speaking to Mauss, Leafiara says, "Right."

Jervil says, "Correct."

Jervil nods at Mauss.

Gwrawr asks, "For cat B, would a TD or defender bonus then block a paladin from using their guiding light as a flare would?"

Mauss says, "Ok."

Speaking to Gwrawr, Leafiara says, "It would indeed."

Gwrawr exclaims, "That one's out!"

Leafiara says, "This is one reason defender weapons are, uh... not highly valued, to say the least."

Leafiara chuckles.

Jervil nods.

Meril asks, "Are resistances part of this category?"

Leafiara says, "TD is a more justifiable tradeoff since it can be a severe weakness for some professions."

Mauss remarks, "They should have a big ol' page with tidbits like this, on Towncrier or a Mentors' Page or some such."

Speaking to Meril, Leafiara says, "Not resistances, no."

Leafiara grins.

Leafiara nods at Mauss.

Jervil looks over at Meril and shakes his head.

Speaking to Mauss, Leafiara says, "Yeah, maybe at some point we can revise the item properties or invent a new system or something."

Mauss says, "It could be called "Things ya Ain' learn in Thrak's Room."

Leafiara admits, "I actually thought of inventing one just for this event."

Jervil chuckles.

Leafiara says, "I'd call it the MASSES system for Material, Ability, Script, Subscript, Everything-else, and... I don't know what the last S would be."

Leafiara snickers.

Leafiara glances upward and whistles quietly, an innocent look on her face.

Jervil says, "I've also been slowly working on a spreadsheet that will be hosted on google docs with drop downs to fill out to allow you to "craft" a weapon or armor and see what properties you can and can't have together."

Jervil says, "It's just..very complex."

Leafiara turns to Jervil and cheers!

Jervil says, "And taking a lot of work."

Speaking to Jervil, Zioni says, "Very cool."

Speaking to Leafiara, Mauss exclaims, "Sanct, o' course!!"

Speaking to Mauss, Leafiara says, "It's not even 'sanct' anymore, it's 'holy' now."

Leafiara grins at Mauss.

Mauss says, "And I like that."

Jervil says, "You'll understand why it's so much work as we cover the last two groups."

Jervil grins.

Leafiara says, "Alrighty, think we're ready for Category C, then..."

Leafiara takes a deep breath.

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Category C Properties

Leafiara says, "Category C is the big old sloppy catch-all category for various properties that items can have in abundance, have none of at all, or have to varying degrees."

Leafiara says, "This includes things like weighting, padding, resistances, creature bane, ensorcelling, sanctification (the new cleric service kind), enhancives, warrior/paladin bonding, and other factors."

Leafiara slowly empties her lungs.

Leafiara adds, "Spikes too."

Jervil chuckles.

Leafiara says, "Unlike Category B, you can have all of these on the same item--with only a few exceptions, like obviously you can't put weighting on armor."

Leafiara grins.

Jervil says, "And it's only recently we can double up on the weighting/padding. So the category has opened up even more."

Leafiara says, "Many of these properties can also be added temporarily, such as temporary weighting or temporary resistances you might find on items generated by the treasure system."

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Speaking to Jervil, Leafiara says, "Great point, this is a pretty recent development from the past few years."

Leafiara says, "You used to only be able to have damage padding or crit padding, not both."

Speaking to Jervil, Mauss asks, "I think like 2017 is what I read on Wiki?"

Jervil nods.

Leafiara says, "Here again I'll mention the distinction between these player-generated categories and how GMs interpret it..."

[Drakes] Nalver thinks, "I'm not going to make it. Working on hitting 90 trains. About 1/3 of the way to 90 since training earlier today."

Jervil says, "With enough time and/or money, you really could have a dagger that hits like a claidhmore AND a lance, all at once."

Jervil grins at Mauss.

Leafiara grins at Jervil.

Leafiara says, "Our lead of dev, Estild, has said that, from a GM perspective, Category A and C are basically the same thing."

Jervil says, "Makes sense, you'd be lumping enchant with padding/weighting, and such things."

Jervil nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara says, "Players creating a distinction between them *mostly* seems to be around the fact that many of the Category C properties will just be missing from items entirely, which isn't as true for the Category A properties that are more universal."

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Leafiara says, "The wiki actually lists forging modifiers--weapons forged by player blacksmiths get bonuses to their attack power--under Category A, which is the kind of thing that muddies the waters since a large percentage of weapons won't have that property either."

Leafiara chuckles.

Jervil nods.

Leafiara says, "Hence, like I said... honestly, I think we--and I mean the entire community here--need to collectively invent a new classification system at some point."

Leafiara says, "But this is just my personal take, not speaking on befalf of Silverwood there."

Leafiara chuckles.

Meril asks, "Are smithing bonuses ever able to added to non-forged weapons?"

Jervil says, "Or, maybe talk the powers into just giving us a chart."

Jervil starts chortling.

Jervil says, "As a very rare service at times."

Speaking to Meril, Leafiara says, "It's only ever been offered once in history so far that I know of."

Jervil nods at Meril.

Leafiara asks, "Went for... what, 1.2 million bloodscrip?"

Leafiara chuckles.

Jervil says, "Somethin' like that."

Jervil nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara grins.

Zioni mutters whales.

Redwar winces.

Leafiara starts chortling.

Mauss says, "So's ya gotta know someone that knows someone thass got dirt on someone."

Jervil says, "I just punch things..so, I did not pay much attention to that auction."

Jervil flashes a wide grin.

Leafiara says, "It's a lot to pay for 6% more DF and 3 AvD."

Leafiara says, "AvD being the equivalent for AS, in case you don't know."

Leafiara grins.

Leafiara says, "But yes, generally speaking..."

Leafiara says, "For both Category A and C, just remember you can have any number of these properties other than the ones that are simply impossible for that gear type (like weighting on armor or padding on weapons). They don't conflict."

Leafiara says, "This is often a surprise, as people might assume that things like Ensorcell and Sanctify would conflict, but they don't."

Jervil nods.

Giogionni says, "One does make the other more difficult, though."

Leafiara says, "It's the Category B and D properties where you can only have one each."

Leafiara nods at Giogionni.

More Questions

Leafiara asks, "And on that note, are there any questions on Category C before we go back to Jervil for Category D?"

Missandai says, "I'm still stuck on Category B."

Jervil says, "But with proper planning, a lot of that difficulty can be rearraged."

Jervil nods.

Speaking to Missandai, Leafiara says, "Oh, ask away about that too."

Leafiara grins at Missandai.

Missandai asks, "I don't know anything about the categories. Would it be easier to look on the wiki?"

Leafiara says, "Oh, yes, we can give the link here, I suppose..."

Jervil says, "I was gonna drop the link at the end, just did not want everyone getting lost in the wiki."

Jervil says, "While we were chatting."

Missandai says, "Okay."

Jervil grins.

Missandai says, "I'll wait then."

Leafiara nods.

Leafiara says, "Yeah, one problem with linking it too was that some of the terms are outdated."

Jervil nods at Leafiara.

Gwrawr asks, "It feels like that latter but is the DF bonus from forging additive or multiplicative?"

Leafiara says, "Like 'sanctified' refers to the old form."

Leafiara says, "The wiki needs a lot of love in this very complex game."

Leafiara chuckles.

Speaking to Gwrawr, Leafiara says, "The latter."

Mauss exclaims, "I wrote a paragraph once!!"

Leafiara says, "Additive would be pretty insane on daggers, to be honest..."

Leafiara starts chortling.

Jervil flashes a wide grin.

Missandai says, "Go ahead and go on then. I want to check the wiki because I don't even know what question I am looking to even ask."

[gave her the link in a whisper anyway to poke away at]

Leafiara nods at Missandai.

Speaking to Missandai, Leafiara exclaims, "All fair!"

Leafiara says, "We'll have a big open Q&A portion at the end for sure."

Leafiara grins.

Category D Properties

Jervil says, "Okay well..that brings us to Category D. The scary one."

Jervil chuckles.

Leafiara appears to be struggling to keep a straight face as she glances at Jervil.

Mauss mutters, "The expensive one, offen."

Leafiara snickers at Mauss.

Jervil says, "Anything not listed in A through C, falls in D. stuff like simple scripts for when you lean on your weapon, or wave your shield and they do things, all the way up to stuff like animalistic and sigil."

Jervil says, "You can only have one Category D script per item."

Missandai says, "So no animalistic sigil runestaff."

Jervil says, "And these are what end up making the waters muddy."

Jervil says, "Cause you have things like.."

Leafiara nods at Missandai.

Jervil says, "Lets take Sigil for example."

Jervil says, "Sigil has dispel flares built into the script, if you unlock it enough. But they don't take your B slot."

Jervil says, "So you can have dispels from the sigil script, and then another standard flare."

Leafiara nods.

Jervil says, "But then, other scripts don't work that way."

Jervil says, "For example, the recent Greater Rhimar weapons."

Jervil says, "They have a scripted flare in D AND normal ice flares in B."

Jervil says, "As part of the whole for the weapon."

Jervil says, "The greater elemental flares also take up both spots."

Jervil says, "And, unfortunately, it can get even a bit more confusing, because now we have Category D subscript flares, taht can be added to a weapon that already have a Category D script AND a standard flare."

Jervil says, "The most well known of those being Rot flares."

Leafiara wryly interjects, "One bit of good news on that front: the very large majority of players will probably never touch subscripts..."

Leafiara chuckles.

Jervil chuckles.

Jervil says, "So I can very easily see why many people get confused by all this."

Jervil nods.

Leafiara nods.

Jervil says, "Because, as an example."

Giogionni says, "Me, too. 'cause I'm still confused."

Leafiara grins at Giogionni.

Leafiara pinches Giogionni!

Giogionni winks at Leafiara.

Giogionni exclaims, "Ow!"

Giogionni glances at Leafiara and pouts.

Leafiara gives Giogionni a friendly hug.

Leafiara tilts her head slightly toward Jervil, examining him intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.

Jervil says, "It is very possible, to make something like : a 10x runestaff with tier 5 mana flares, tier 5 ensorcell, tier 6 sanctification, tier 5 sigil and rot flares."

Jervil starts chortling.

Leafiara cheerfully adds, "With undead bane!"

Jervil nods at Leafiara.

Giogionni says, "Hashtag lifetime goals."

Leafiara appears to be struggling to keep a straight face.

Jervil says, "And enhancives."

Zioni asks, "Any banes?"

Jervil exclaims, "And a material property too!"

Mauss says, "Thass not even 15x, throw it in da well."

Leafiara chuckles.

Jervil says, "So yah, it can get crazy fast."

Leafiara nods.

Jervil says, "And then when you start talking about the difficulty addions when adding properties, it becomes a big mess of math."

Leafiara nods knowingly.

Jervil says, "And it's my experience, a lot of ya'll don't like math."

Leafiara grins at Jervil.

Missandai grins at Jervil.

Zioni nods at Jervil.

Zioni nods at Jervil.

Jervil starts chortling.

Mauss says, "I like some, but I'm weird."

Jervil grins.

Jervil says, "So yah, that pretty much covers all the available properties and where they fit."

Jervil glances at Leafiara.

Leafiara nods.

Jervil asks, "Unless I missed something?"

Leafiara says, "Before we go to our big Q&A section..."

Leafiara says, "Couple points of clarification/reiteration."

Leafiara says, "Jervil also mentioned that it [Category D] can be fluff verbs, but I want to re-emphasize that again."

Jervil pulls the end of his handwraps down over his wrists and brushes a layer of dust off his suede-wrapped knuckles.

Jervil nods.

Leafiara says, "So you might have items with the script slot full that offer no mechanical benefit."

Jervil says, "Like my handwraps."

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Leafiara says, "Anfelt is a very common fluff script."

Leafiara says, "Also known as Gizwizit's Fantabulous line."

Leafiara chuckles.

Jervil says, "And moods."

Jervil nods at Leafiara.

Missandai says, "So when Giz adds his fantabulous flares they go in Cat D."

Jervil nods at Missandai.

Leafiara nods at Missandai.

Jervil says, "Which is great for RP reasons, but really limits some of the power you can add."

Leafiara says, "Right, and this is why Gizwizit double checks with you in OOC whispers to make sure you understand what you're getting."

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Siierra softly says, "If you want something like rotflares though, you have to remove those mood scripts. Just for fyi."

Jervil says, "Well, rot flares are a subscript."

Leafiara says, "Yeah, the mention of subscripts earlier is why I even started talking about this."

Leafiara chuckles.

Jervil says, "So you'd not need to remove fluff scripts."

Missandai asks, "How do you go about removing them? Or is that something completely different than what we are talking about?"

Speaking to Missandai, Leafiara says, "There's an NPC at Duskruin who can remove undesired properties."

Jervil says, "There are ways. You can do it via premium points, or there is..yah that."

Missandai says, "Good to know. I've never been to Duskruin. I'm more of a Ebon Gate kinda girl."

Jervil grins.

Mauss says, "I think if you look at HESS article on wiki it goes into that."

Jervil says, "Some merchants will also remove them, but thats not nearly as common."

Leafiara says, "Years ago, it was a fairly common premium service to have live merchants come around and remove properties, but.. it's rare these days."

Leafiara says, "We'll see if it ever comes back."

Leafiara says, "But I haven't seen it since 5116 or so."

Leafiara chuckles.

Jervil says, "This is also why we've started to see shops at events have 5 or 6 of the same item with fluffy scripts, then 1 with none."

Jervil says, "Thankfully."

Leafiara nods in agreement at Jervil.

Leafiara says, "Right, surita runestaves are an example there."

Jervil nods.

Leafiara says, "You can get them with or without fluff scripts."

Leafiara says, "So the takeaway is..."

Leafiara reasons, "Basically, before you commit to buying various gear at Duskruin, Rumor Woods, or Ebon Gate, make sure you understand whether it uses the ability slot (B), the script slot (D), both, or neither. Confirm with GMs, confirm with players."

Leafiara grins.

Leafiara says, "Your long term plan might be possible or you might have to revise."

Missandai says, "Or just ask someone who knows what they are doing and follow their plan."

Leafiara cackles at Missandai!

Jervil says, "Also, as a side note, if you're not personally worried about min/maxing your stuff, Gizwizit's scripts are frickin' amazing."

Jervil chuckles.

Leafiara nods enthusiastically at Jervil!

Leafiara wistfully says, "They definitely are."

Meril exclaims, "Thay are fantabulous!"

Mauss asks, "...wait, Giz can ADD stuff?"

Leafiara grins at Meril.

Leafiara nods at Mauss.

Speaking to Mauss, Leafiara says, "Yes, he can add fluff scripts to items that have no scripts."

Jervil says, "He adds fluff scripts."

Jervil nods at Mauss.

Jervil says, "And the UAC ones are just amazing."

Leafiara nods knowingly at Jervil.

Jervil says, "Personal favorite of mine."

Leafiara says, "It'll never be as powerful as it could be, but like Mauss said... usually filling the script slot (Category D) gets expensive, and Fantabulous gear definitely isn't."

Questions and Answers

Jervil asks, "Okay, I guess that brings us to questions, concerns and outburts of an emotional nature?"

Mauss raises his hand.

Leafiara cheers, "Question and answer session, commence!"

Leafiara points at Mauss.

Redwar says, "I've a few questions. Some easy and perhaps one difficult."

Mauss yells, "I want a broadsword!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Leafiara snickers.

Leafiara nods at Redwar.

Redwar nods in agreement at Mauss.

Mauss cackles!

Meril just handed Mauss some coins.

Jervil chuckles.

Leafiara begins chortling at Meril.

Mauss sheepishly says, "...I'll have a serious one in a bit."

Leafiara nods at Mauss.

Leafiara points at Redwar.

Speaking amusedly to Redwar, Leafiara says, "You're up for now, then."

Leafiara chuckles.

Redwar nods gratefully.

Redwar asks, "Nerve staff. Category D?"

Leafiara says, "Yes." Redwar smirks.

Redwar exclaims, "I get it!"

Leafiara says, "Nervestaff is a script."

Leafiara grins.

Jervil starts chortling.

Redwar says, "It so complex I thought it might be multiple categories."

Jervil nods at Redwar.

Zioni says, "Me too."

Leafiara says, "Most... I stress *MOST* scripts made in the last few years only occupy Category D."

Jervil says, "You'll find most of the really powerful things are in that category."

Redwar says, "Understand I've been around a while in some form, but this has always been a mystery to me, so I attended. Thank you. I have more questions when ready."'

Leafiara says, "But there are exceptions as Jervil pointed out with greater rhimar."

Redwar grins.

Leafiara grins at Redwar.

Jervil nods.

Zioni says, "Gear has just gotten more confusing the last few years."

Leafiara says, "When GMs invent scripts these days that take up both slots, they, uh... usually don't go over well with people in the know, so they sell less."

Leafiara chuckles.

Redwar asks, "Temporary modifications, such as a 304 bless, voln bless, eblade, elemental edge.... I want to say Category B, but new changes to blesses have me doubting. Any clarity?"

Jervil ponders.

Speaking to Redwar, Leafiara says, "The new version of bless would be filed under C."

Leafiara says, "Elemental Edge..."

Leafiara ponders.

Redwar says, "Interesting. Category C temporary bless."

Jervil says, "Edge conflicts with nothing."

Redwar ponders.

Jervil says, "So it should be C? but I don't know that we have an official word."

Zioni raises her hand.

Missandai says, "Elemental Edge is Category B according to the wiki."

Leafiara says, "Yeah, trying to think how I'd classify Elemental Edge."

Mauss says, "Used ta be bless was Cat B, so flaring stuff couldn't be blessed. Mercifully, they changed that when they released Sanct."

Jervil says, "Yah, but Edge has changed a bit."

Jervil nods at Missandai.

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Missandai says, "Ah."

Redwar says, "I suspect edge would go with eblade and elemental flares of a more permanent nature."

Jervil nods at Redwar.

Jervil says, "Would be my guess."

Speaking to Missandai, Leafiara says, "Right, that's part of why we hesitated to link the item properties page. It's a bit oudated."

Leafiara chuckles.

Speaking to Leafiara, Missandai says, "I can understand that. Taking the wiki with a grain of salt then."

Jervil says, "I suspect edge is lumped in with the new bless. But I'm pretty sure you can have both edge and bless."

Leafiara grins at Missandai.

Jervil says, "So.."

Speaking to Jervil, Leafiara says, "You definitely can, yeah."

Speaking to Zioni, Leafiara says, "You're up after Redwar, but making sure we cover everything he's got first."

Speaking to Redwar, Leafiara asks, "Did you have other questions?"

Redwar asks, "I have a big question, more seeking clarity in a specific incident I would need to explain. PLease allow someone else to go first?"

Redwar nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara nods understandingly at Redwar.

Leafiara exclaims, "Very well!"

Leafiara points at Zioni.

Zioni asks, "Would asking for an explanation of how resistances work and stack be within the bounds of this discussion?"

Speaking to Zioni, Leafiara says, "Sure."

Zioni smiles.

Leafiara asks, "Do you have a specific case to discuss or just... go into it generally?"

Leafiara chuckles.

Zioni chuckles.

Zioni says, "Generally I've just started looking at them."

Leafiara says, "Okay, basically..."

Zioni says, "And things like ascension don't stack with ranger trinkets etc."

Leafiara says, "Resistances to different damage types can be had all at once, but resistances to the same damage type across multiple items don't stack."

Zioni nods.

Leafiara says, "If you had 40% crush resistance armor and a 30% crush resistance shield, then the latter item is redundant and does nothing."

Zioni nods.

Leafiara says, "Incidentally, not many people even know it's possible to put resistances on shields."

Jervil chuckles.

Leafiara says, "But hey."

Leafiara grins.

Leafiara says, "For ranger trinkets..."

Leafiara says, "That's slightly different."

Zioni turns an inquisitive ear toward Leafiara.

Leafiara say, "If you had 40% lightning resistance armor and a 25% lighting resistance ranger trinket, the latter item isn't redundant... only in the sense that you still have a chance at full nullification." [which comes from the ranger service]

Zioni nods.

Zioni says, "So you would get the 40% and the secondary effect from the trinket."

Leafiara nods at Zioni.

Zioni nods.

Leafiara says, "Also, there is one exception to resistances not stacking."

Zioni laughs!

Zioni says, "Of course."

Leafiara says, "That's the ranger group spell 620."

Leafiara says, "The worn buff."

Zioni nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara says, "That one goes above and beyond the items you're wearing, including rangers' own trinkets."

Zioni nods.

Leafiara whispers aloud, "So get your ranger friend to cast the ice version in group arena in case anyone gets any bright ideas of trying to summon demons in there."

Leafiara glances upward and whistles quietly, an innocent look on her face.

Jervil says, "I'm remaining quiet here, cause I too am learning about resistances."

Jervil grins.

Zioni says, "Does ascension stack with any of that or just a waste."

Leafiara says, "Ascension is in the same boat as gear: you just get the highest resistance you have across items or skills, and the rest is immaterial."

Zioni nods.

Leafiara says, "So only train resistances you don't already have on items."

Leafiara says, "Unless you can go higher with Ascension than what your items are at."

Zioni says, "Thank you. That helped."

Leafiara says, "But, uh... that's a lot of exp."

Leafiara grins.

Leafiara nods at Zioni.

Jervil says, "And good luck getting that much XP."

Jervil starts chortling.

Leafiara nods knowingly at Jervil.

Leafiara exclaims, "Only some 4,450,000 exp to get 1% more crush resistance in Ascension than my armor already has!"

Leafiara says, "Err, typo..."

Leafiara says, "9,450,000."

Leafiara snickers.

Jervil chuckles.

Speaking to Leafiara, Mauss encourages, "You can do it!!"

Redwar exclaims, "Cap again for 1%!!"

Leafiara starts chortling.

Jervil lets out a cheer!

Speaking to Redwar, Leafiara exclaims, "Ready for ya if you are!"

Leafiara grins at Redwar.

Redwar nods at Leafiara.

Redwar says, "Ready to ready."

Redwar snickers.

Leafiara tilts her head toward Redwar, examining him intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.

Redwar says, "A couple years ago I was aware of this, and I witnessed part of it unfold. A wizard in the Elven nations who was a good friend of mine at the time (Galliah if you know her) was forced to downgrade a prized runestaff of hers. Truthfully I haven't seen her more than once or twice in the past couple of years, but I wish to understand this and perhaps send her a log."

Redwar exclaims, "At a premium festival on FWI a few years ago, she won a raffle to add Vial Flares to an item. She chose to have them added to a runestaff that had a decent amount of acuity flares. In the end it was quite the runestaff!"

Leafiara nods understandingly at Redwar.

Redwar says, "And because it's how Galliah is, she shared those mana vials with everyone. Those of us in Ta'Vaalor loved the mana vials. Great for up and coming casters. So far as I know, she had the item for many months, and both the acuity and mana vials functioned perfect."

Redwar says, "But she was pulled aside by a GM. I don't know which one as I was not there for this part. She was told those two could not coexist on a staff and their presence was creating some kind of issue behind the scenes? This is a conflict with what is on the wiki at least-understanding that it is not perfect, none of us who are aware of this understood why."

Redwar pants.

Leafiara ponders.

Redwar exclaims, "I think she was quite upset about it, but didn't fight it or question it. I would have!"

Redwar grins.

Redwar says, "But I hope to learn something I might share with her outside of game since she doesn't show up much."

Jervil ponders.

Leafiara says, "Vial flares, now there's a rarity... one moment, let me look it up real quick."

Leafiara says, "And I do know Galliah, she was friends with Lyrna."

Redwar nods.

Redwar smiles.

Jervil says, "So I'm pretty sure vial flares would fall under scripts, so D. And acuity should fall under B. so they should not conflict persay? But who knows what was happening behind the screen."

Leafiara says, "Yeah, everything I see indicates that vial flares are scripts."

Redwar nods in agreement at Jervil.

Redwar says, "That's what I gathered from THIS conversation so far."

Leafiara says, "Acuity is the flare slot/ability slot."

'Leafiara says, "There shouldn't be a conflict."

Jervil says, "For all we know, the script was not playing well with acuity, and was sending up all kinds of errors or something."

Jervil shrugs.

Leafiara says, "Now that I could see."

Leafiara says, "Some kind of unpredictable outcome of a [combination of a] script and ability that maybe nobody had tried."

Jervil nods.

Leafiara says, "Vial flares also haven't been offered at the HESS for years now and maybe this is a reason why."

Redwar says, "Since vial flares are quite uncommon, I have never seen another item in which category B scripts are with them. The wiki indicates it should not be a problem, but I haven't seen it work elsewhere."

Jervil says, "If you learn nothing else from tonights conversation, it should be there are a LOT of complicated things that can be done to items in gemstone."

Jervil grins.

Leafiara nods in agreement at Jervil.

Redwar grins.

Zioni raises her hand.

Leafiara asks, "Did she keep the vial flares or the acuity?"

Redwar says, "Tough one I know. Sadly it seems I won't be able to send her any clarity in a message."

Speaking to Leafiara, Redwar exclaims, "Vials without acuity. Harder to come by!"

Leafiara rubs her chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to Redwar, Leafiara says, "I bet we'd get a decisive answer on this if she attempted to add acuity flares at Duskruin, to be honest, though I know that's expensive..."

Jervil says, "If I was in her slippers, I'd post about it on the discord forums, maybe it could be looked into and possibly restored if they can fix the issue."

Leafiara says, "Might not have to go that far, though--"

Leafiara points at Jervil.

Leafiara says, "Yeah, I was gonna say the same as Jervil there."

Redwar ponders.

Leafiara says, "Thandiwe and her team are ultra responsive to questions in the Duskruin channel on Discord."

Redwar says, "I wonder if they'd even go back a couple years for her if they sorted it out."

Redwar shrugs.

Jervil asks, "Anything is possible, worst response you'd get is no?"

Jervil shrugs.

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Redwar says, "I will make that suggestion to her. No idea if she will. Unpredictable that one."

Redwar grins.

Leafiara grins at Redwar.

Mauss says, "Worst thing they can say is always no."

Speaking to Redwar, Leafiara says, "Tell her Leafi says hi. She might not remember me--we only really knew each other at all through Lyrna."

Leafiara chuckles.

Redwar nods in agreement at Mauss.

Leafiara says, "Which is fine."

Leafiara grins.

Jervil points at Zioni.

Speaking to Leafiara, Redwar exclaims, "I shall!"

Leafiara turns to Redwar and cheers!

Jervil exclaims, "I choose you!"

Leafiara tilts her head toward Zioni, examining her intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.

Zioni asks, "Materials with inherent flares like drake can a cat b flare be added to them? Also, do you know if Iasha takes up D and B?"

Zioni chuckles.

Leafiara pleasedly says, "Ah, perfect, time to muddy the waters again."

Leafiara appears to be struggling to keep a straight face.

Zioni groans.

Jervil says, "Inherent flares typically block the standard flares..or they used too."

Leafiara says, "Iasha does take up both slots."

Jervil says, "I'm not sure if that's changed."

Zioni snaps her fingers.

Leafiara says, "Iasha is fairly unpopular these days for exactly that reason."

Zioni nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara says, "Despite multiple requests over the years to make it take up only the script slot (D)."

Zioni says, "Got an axe I like."

Zioni says, "Using on a cleric."

Mauss mumbles, "Somebody add lightning flares to drakar... 20k BS For Science."

Zioni says, "Wanted to add dispel."

Leafiara says, "It's a real shame, as thematically it's a great weapon for paladins, but it conflicts with their Guiding Light flares."

Leafiara says, "So a poor mechanical choice."

Leafiara nods at Zioni.

Zioni agrees with Leafiara.

Zioni shrugs.

Jervil starts chortling.

Zioni says, "She don't kill fast."

Leafiara says, "Daybringer is probably the closest to Iasha thematically without occupying both slots."

Jervil asks, "Would that be a flaming lightning bolt?"

Leafiara says, "As for inherent flares..."

Zioni nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara says, "You can't stack flares on top of drake, no. Nor zorchar, drakar, rhimar, xazkruvrixis, kroderine, or most other materials."

Leafiara says, "Notice the 'most'."

Leafiara's face breaks into a cheeky grin.

Speaking to Leafiara, Jervil says, "Bless you again."

Leafiara says, "The one exception I know of is ghezyte."

Jervil flashes a wide grin.

Zioni nods.

Leafiara says, "Ghezyte's innate flare was designed in a way that it *doesn't* occupy the flare slot, somehow."

Zioni asks, "Firewheel?"

Zioni nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara says, "So you can have ghezyte debuffs and still have dispel or other flares."

Leafiara says, "Firewheel takes up the flare slot."

Zioni nods.

Gwrawr asks, "Adamantine?"

Leafiara says, "Adamantine is..."

Jervil says, "And this, friends. is why that spreadsheet I'm working on is so insainely time consuming."

Leafiara says, "Well, I mean, it doesn't conflict with flares."

Leafiara says, "I'm not sure I'd call it a flare exactly, but it doesn't conflict." [In hindsight, it probably is fair to call it a flare since it's an ability with a percentage chance to activate on contact. It's just not the kind of ability that people typically mean by "flare," so my mind wasn't on it.]

Leafiara grins.

Jervil says, "All of the random properties that have appeared over the years in the game, and we gotta guess some of them."

Leafiara snickers at Jervil.

Jervil asks, "Like, for those who are old farts. Take Sorrow for example. Thats a Cat D script. But..what does sorrow add for difficulty rating? Is there a way for us to even figure out? Does Sorrow even still exist?"

Jervil flails his arms about.

Leafiara chuckles.

Leafiara says, "Yeah, we didn't even really touch on gear difficulty as it's a bit beyond the scope of this event... Jervil's spreadsheet should be very helpful on that front, though."

Speaking to Jervil, Mauss says, "He that destroys a thing to find out what it is... finds wisdom."

Leafiara gazes in amusement at her surroundings.

Jervil asks, "Immo weapons are probably a script? but once they are activated, do they use the flare slot? Is it all contained in the script slot? how can we tell?"

Speaking to Jervil, Leafiara admits, "That's a good question."

Leafiara says, "Obscurities all over the place."

Leafiara chuckles.

Leafiara says, "Though again, I'll reiterate..."

Leafiara says, "Scripts made in recent years generally only occupy the script slot."

Jervil nods.

Leafiara says, "It's mostly the older stuff you have to be concerned about and get clarification on."

Leafiara grins.

Jervil says, "Thankfully."

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Jervil chuckles.

Leafiara says, "Since Iasha was mentioned, that is an older one even though it's still sold today."

Jervil says, "But now with Wyrom releasing those elemental subscripts. Who knows how popular those will become."

Leafiara says, "Buy the new hotness instead."

Leafiara raises her fist defiantly.

Leafiara snickers.

Jervil flails his arms about.

Mauss exclaims, "Old an' busted fer lyfe!!"

Jervil grins at Mauss.

Leafiara says, "Only old script I stand behind is blink. Which, thankfully, only takes up the script slot."

Leafiara snickers.

Leafiara asks, "Do we have any other questions this eve?"

Leafiara grins.

Mauss raises his hand.

Leafiara points at Mauss.

Mauss asks, "First, how ta git physical resistances on m' shield, like ya mentioned earlier?"

Jervil chuckles.

Speaking to Mauss, Leafiara says, "25k bloodscrip per 5% at Duskruin."

Leafiara chuckles.

Mauss says, "Figures."

Leafiara grins.

Mauss chuckles.

Speaking to Mauss, Zioni says, "Sell you 25k blood for 25million silver."

Jervil says, "When it comes to enhancing your items. The answer is almost universally DR."

Jervil nods at Mauss.

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Mauss says, "Next, seems like the best "bang for the buck" meta gear for those not wanting to go above 7x, is forged weapon, T5 S6 GEF... agree or disagree? (Yes, I know this is subjective.)"

Jervil says, "It's highly subjective."

Jervil chuckles.

Mauss says, "Oh and subscript."

Redwar asks, "What is GEF?"

Missandai says, "Greater elemental flares."

Redwar says, "Ah yes."

Speaking to Redwar, Mauss says, "Greater elem... yeah that."

Leafiara says, "I wouldn't recommend a subscript."

Missandai says, "I learned that recently."

Jervil says, "Cause personally, I'd rather have dispel flares for melee. They are just too darn good."

Leafiara says, "If you're trying for a relatively budget item, subscript is out of the question."

Jervil shrugs.

Leafiara says, "Since the cheapest one is 400k bloodscrip."

Leafiara chuckles.

Meril says, "I need to step out, but I hope there will be notes."

Mauss says, "Ya either get, or already have, a basic elemental flare... then ya get the GEF for I believe 40k BS to occupy the D slot."

Zioni says, "Ahhh."

Speaking to Meril, Leafiara exclaims, "I can see to that!"

Leafiara grins.

Speaking to Meril, Leafiara says, "Take care out there."

Leafiara says, "This is all really hard to quantify, but here's what I'd say."

Jervil says, "But the meta changes constantly, and shifts on desire and need."

Jervil starts chortling.

Leafiara says, "If I wanted a budget weapon that I was proud to wield while also feeling like I didn't spend all that much..."

Mauss nods at Jervil.

Leafiara says, "And I know that there are like three layers of subjectivity in just that line..."

Jervil grins.

Mauss turns an inquisitive ear toward Leafiara.

Mauss grins.

Leafiara says, "I'd do perfect forged, S6 Sanctify, T1 Ensorcell, GEF, call it a day." [And obviously +35 at some point.]

Leafiara says, "Not even T5 Ensorcell, T1."

Mauss asks, "For the stamina?"

Leafiara nods at Mauss.

Leafiara says, "And make the material zorchar to get those lightning flares."

Missandai asks, "What about a runestaff?"

Redwar asks, "What would be the most efficient order to upgrade based on cost and difficulty?"

Jervil says, "For example, my warrior uses a pair off fully unlocked twin scripted short swords that are ensorc'd and have dispel flares. Many people don't think twin is the best. But I really like it."

Jervil shrugs.

Speaking to Leafiara, Gwrawr asks, "Why zorchar?"

Speaking to Gwrawr, Leafiara says, "Zorchar comes with lightning flares."

Speaking to Redwar, Jervil says, "Sanct, then ensorc, then enchant."

Jervil says, "If you're building from the ground up."

Leafiara says, "The materials I'd consider for a moderate project weapon like that are zorchar, eonake, or white ora, basically."

Giogionni says, "Well, I did mine backwards."

Leafiara says, "If it's going to end up with GEF lightning and S6 anyway, then either start with the lightning flares or start by making Sanctify real, real easy."

Jervil says, "Get a perfect forge weapon, then sanct to T6, then ensorc to what ever level you are comfortable with, then enchant to 7x, THEN start looking at DR stuff."

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Speaking softly to Giogionni, Siierra says, "Me too and it was costly to go forward."

Mauss nods at Jervil.

Jervil says, "For example.."

Zioni says, "Ya its gets really pricy if you do it wrong."

Jervil says, "I made my wizards runestaff before Sanct became a thing..so now I have to add sanct as an after thought. So not only does it cost me a inky black potion for the casts, but my staff is just over -900 difficulty for the sanct casts."

Jervil frowns.

Leafiara nods.

Mauss cringes.

Mauss says, "I'm a l'il lucky on that, I came back before the pot got stirred."

Leafiara says, "I mostly agree with Jervil on the order of operations, with one caveat I'd add."

Jervil says, "Which basically means..I'm having to level my own cleric, cause no one wants to suffuse that much holy juice to cast on my staff."

Jervil starts chortling.

Redwar says, "Not even beginning to mention weighting and padding in there."

Missandai says, "I'm just starting to think about my post-cap weapon which is why I'm learning this stuff now."

Jervil nods at Missandai.

Leafiara says, "I think you can Enchant to at least +25, if not +30, at any point in the process without messing much up difficulty wise."

Leafiara says, "Definitely reserve the final Enchant casts for toward the end, though."

Jervil says, "I started my wizards staff when he was mid 70s, it's still not finished, and he's almost 1.5x capped now."

Leafiara says, "Unlike Sanctify and Ensorcell that add flat amounts of difficulty per tier, Enchant adds more difficulty as the enchant gets higher."

Jervil nods.

Leafiara says, "It barely adds any for the earlier casts."

Mauss says, "It's about +6/7 to diff in that 25-30 range I believe.."

Leafiara says, "The difference between +20 and +30 is only 3 more gear difficulty than *one* tier of Ensorcell."

Leafiara chuckles.

Jervil grins.

Jervil says, "Ensorc and padding/weighting hurt."

Jervil says, "A lot."

Jervil chuckles.

Zioni says, "Unlocks and flares."

Leafiara says, "Well... enough padding/weighting hurts, anyway."

Mauss says, "True."

Jervil nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara ssay, "WPS adds difficulty as a squared number."

Jervil says, "Another tip I can give."

Redwar says, "Enough being key."

Mauss says, "9 CER -> 10 CER is +19."

Leafiara says, "So 1 CER adds 1 difficulty, 10 CER adds 100 difficulty." [This is relative to an item with 0 CER. What Mauss said is also correct in that a 9 CER item has 81 difficulty over a 0 CER item, so a 10 CER item's 100 difficulty is 19 up from the 9 CER.]

Leafiara says, "Brutal differences. Hold back a bit if ya can."

Jervil says, "If you're going with something special as your starter, like say, surita? Get the lesser version and the unlock certificate, but store that certificate until later."

Leafiara points at Jervil.

Leafiara adopts an agreeable expression.

Leafiara says, "Great point on that one."

Giogionni says, "Just make sure the certificate doesn't expire."

Jervil says, "Cause the lesser has a -50 diffculty, and the greater is like, -200 or something."

Leafiara says, "I have the unlock certs for a T4 mechanical crossbow stashed away and it's still OTS at the moment."

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Mauss asks, "...certificates expire?"

Giogionni says, "Some do."

Leafiara says, "Gio also makes a good point."

Mauss groans.

Speaking to Mauss, Leafiara says, "Some do, so make sure yours isn't one of them."

Leafiara chuckles.

Jervil says, "Certs you buy off the shelf don't typically expire."

Giogionni says, "It will say if it needs to be used before the end of the event."

Leafiara nods.

Speaking to Giogionni, Mauss says, "Oh, so the normal."

Leafiara says, "Typically, the ones that expire require manual GM intervention."

Speaking to Giogionni, Mauss says, "But you bring up a great point."

Jervil points at Leafiara.

Issalica raises her hand.

Issalica nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara points at Issalica.

Issalica says, "You answered my question."

Issalica smiles.

Leafiara grins.

Jervil says, "Like hess stuff will expire, but general shop ones won't."

Leafiara says, "Well, caveat there.."

Leafiara says, "Stuff like Animalistic Flare change certs will expire."

Jervil says, "Always a caveat with shops."

Jervil chuckles.

Leafiara grins.

Leafiara says, "That one requires Avaluka to come change it manually."

Leafiara says, "But, again, the certs will say."

Leafiara says, "Also..."

Leafiara says, "This was brought up in the context of items that get more difficult as you unlock them to higher tiers."

Jervil says, "Always willing to pay for a visit from Avaluka. wonderful lass."

Leafiara says, "Animalistic Spirit doesn't fall under that category, as it's -200 from the jump regardless of unlock status." [In other words, there wouldn't be a reason to hold on to any of its certs anyway, either the expiring or non-expiring variety (and yes, it has both).]

Jervil nods.

Leafiara says, "So, yes, like I said earlier... *confirm everything* with staff on Discord, or players on the Help channel, or other avenues before committing to purchases."

Mauss nods.

Jervil says, "Especially the really expensive ones."

Jervil grins.

Leafiara says, "Including whether certs expire or not."

Leafiara grins.

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Mauss asks, "Last one... is lightning a good GEF *if* I stay the heck out of Nelemar?"

Speaking to Mauss, Leafiara says, "Yes."

Jervil says, "And speaking as someone who has played GS for many years before getting to the point where I could make a item from scratch. It's been a blast doing it."

Mauss gives an approval gesture with his hand.

Leafiara says, "Lightning is the most lethal of the basic elemental flares because it can hit nerves, which have many low fatal thresholds."

Jervil nods at Leafiara.

Mauss says, "There's somethin' appealing about zapping a critter right in da brain."

Leafiara grins at Mauss.

Jervil says, "But I still love my dispels for melee. They are just TOO good."

Leafiara chuckles.

Leafiara nods at Jervil.

Leafiara says, "Of course, we can only speak for the present."

Leafiara says, "Never know, maybe the future will have a bunch more capped grounds with lightning elementals."

Jervil says, "I've got some dispel KO UAC gear. So tasty."

Speaking to Jervil, Mauss says, "I'm thinkin' (far down the road) throw dispel on my gloves that have bubbles on them now."

Leafiara grins.

Leafiara asks, "Alrighty... do we have any last questions before we call this one a wrap?"

Interlocking her fingers above her head, Leafiara stretches slowly, extending her spine in a satisfying stretch.

Mauss exclaims, "I think da takeaway is, gear is hard!"

Jervil says, "Strips their spells, stuns them, then I punch them, then they get KO'd and knocked over. So they are stunned, hurt, lying down. It's B-E-A-utiful."

Leafiara agrees with Mauss.

Speaking to Mauss, Leafiara says, "Nothing to Fear but Gear Itself."

Leafiara snickers.

Mauss insists, "Thinkin' is easier!!"

Leafiara raises her fist defiantly.

Jervil says, "It's all math."

Jervil asks, "And math is fun. AM I RIGHT?"

Jervil just nudged Siierra.

Leafiara grins at Jervil.

Wrap-Up

Leafiara says, "Okay, before we do call this a wrap, one question for all of you..."

Issalica looks over at Jervil and shakes her head.

Issalica says, "No."

Speaking to Jervil, Mauss clarifies, "...to a point."

Missandai exclaims, "I now know more about the different categories than I knew before. Thanks for that!"

Siierra softly says, "I'll need more rum for math."

Leafiara asks, "Would you guys or friends you know be interested in an event covering every profession service and what it does?"

Siierra nods eagerly.

Missandai says, "Yes please."

Zioni nods at Leafiara.

Mauss nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara nods.

Issalica agrees with Leafiara.

Leafiara says, "Okay... good to hear."

Leafiara chuckles.

Speaking to Leafiara, Jervil says, "It shocks me how many people still don't know how helpful Ensorcell is."

Leafiara says, "I've been planning on that, maybe in March after Duskruin's over."

Leafiara grins at Jervil.

Leafiara says, "I explain Sanctify at least twice a week to someone in Discord DMs."

Mauss says, "I hear questions alla the time about whether sanct/etc is "worth it"."

Leafiara says, "And ranger resistances at least once a week."

Leafiara chuckles.

Leafiara nods at Mauss.

Siierra softly says, "And all the other questions we don't know every week."

Jervil chuckles.

Zioni says, "Thank you both for doing this. It was very helpful and fun."

Leafiara turns toward Zioni and renders a sharp hand salute.

Leafiara turns to Zioni and cheers!

Jervil nods.

Leafiara earnestly exclaims, "We're glad it was helpful!"

Leafiara chuckles.

Leafiara says, "And there she goes."

Redwar says, "Many thanks to you who did this."

Jervil chuckles.

Leafiara says, "Well... thank you all for coming out and being here tonight."

Siierra softly says, "It was great, thank you Jervil and Leafiara! Very informative."

Leafiara says, "We appreciate your time and questions."

Leafiara grins.

Jervil leans on Leafiara, giving her a companionable grin.

Mauss exclaims, "Yas's whiskey is da bestest! As usual!"

Leafiara places one foot behind the other and drops into a respectful curtsy, a swirl of glimmering cherry red hues surrounding her body.

Issalica says, "Yes, thank you for doing this. Sorry I missed most of it, but glad I got to listen in on the questions part."

Leafiara exclaims, "Grab any last refreshments if you'd like!"

Jervil says, "Siierra hugs make everything worth it."

Jervil nods.

Leafiara says, "And I'll see what I can do about getting a log of this on the wiki."

Missandai says, "If you need help finding your way out, join me."

Leafiara says, "Probably one of our best events in terms of things we can just point people at in the future as a resource."

Leafiara says, "Honestly."

Leafiara chuckles.

Mauss says, "Suggestion."

Leafiara tilts her head toward Mauss, examining him intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.

Redwar says, "It was great."

Redwar says, "Thank you."

Jervil nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara grins at Redwar.

Speaking to Missandai, Issalica says, "Thank you."

Speaking to Issalica, Missandai exclaims, "Of course!"

Jervil says, "Hopefully I can get the spreadsheet finished sometime this century."

Missandai asks, "Anyone else need help getting out of here?"

Darkkstormmer says, "Thank you both."

Leafiara says, "And you never know. If grinding the arena drives me insane enough, maybe I'll have a whole new gear property classification system on the wiki in February."

Leafiara snickers.

Leafiara says, "BASE: Basics, Ability, Script, Everything-Else."

Leafiara snickers.

Leafiara raises her fist defiantly.

Mauss suggests, "If yas're considering talkin' profession services, mebbe go into Suffusion a bit? that confuses the heck outta folks. Used ta be me too till I started playin' with it."

Redwar says, "Depending how much you get bothered by it I suppose."

Speaking to Mauss, Leafiara says, "Oh, good call, that should definitely be part of it."

Leafiara nods at Mauss.

Jervil nods.

Mauss boasts, "I feel useful!!"

Speaking to Redwar, Leafiara says, "Oh, I love the arena, but it also makes me a bit loopy after two weeks."

Leafiara snickers.

Siierra softly says, "Yes on suffussion."

Jervil says, "I can answer alll kinds of questions on suffusion! I fight with it constantly."
