Skins and Grins is the furrier for Sablecross, run by the tanner Kloster.

The air is thick with the pungent stink of tanning agents and the sickly sweet odor of animal carcasses. Windows opened to let the malodorous melange escape share the stony walls with fine furs and fangs from a wide assortment of beasts. Behind the counter a swarthy furrier works her trade, aided by tanning racks and vats of murky yellow fluid. A massive skull with curled horns and a long jaw hangs over the partition. You also see the tanner Kloster.

Kloster looks as if business has been prosperous for her.

Kloster deftly uses a bone-handled skinning knife to pick debris from under her fingernals.  Her hands and arms are scalded from the caustic liquids of her trade.

Kloster exchanges silvers with a poacher who has brought a wagon full of ill-gotten pelts.

Kloster retrieves a pair of well-used tongs and fishes a square of hide out of one of the vats of murky yellow fluid.  From her scrunched face, its condition is unsatisfactory, and she dips it back into the stinking liquid.

Kloster retrieves a hide from within one of the vats of murky yellow fluid and stretches across a tanning rack to dry, its acrid stench joining the stink of the chamber.

Using a bone-handled skinning knife, Kloster scrapes hair and flesh from a recently acquired hide with vibrant purple fur.

Kloster offhandedly says, "I like animals as much as anyone, sure.  But sometimes... sometimes, dead is better."
