You analyze the silk drawstring pouch and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions, but the creator has stated that "There do not seem to be any specific limitations."
The creator has also provided the following information:
This pouch makes your gems more secure by allowing you to slip gems into it while it is closed. Alterations are fine, but the item must stay a small container intended for holding gems, and the script's messaging does refer to a drawstring.
This pouch is sold without tiers, but it can be unlocked to add the gem-gather ability.

PS. As stated above, these gem pouches will be sold without any unlocked tier. However, unlocking of the gem-gather tier will be provided as a service at EG. If you already own a gem pouch, ANALYZE it and see if it matches the above information. There are two gem pouch scripts currently existing on the game. If your gem pouch has this script, it can be unlocked at EG. The other gem pouch script will be updated with a similar tier in the near future, and its ANALYZE info will say as much once that update is in place.

The intent is to provide it as much as scheduling will allow. At this time I can't predict what that will be, but hopefully it will involve several sessions during the merchanting week, including calendar-scheduled sessions and impromptu ones. TPTB have green-lit no limit on the number of unlocks of this tier during EG.

The gem-gather function recognizes as gems all of the same items that the gem pouch script originally recognized as acceptable items to be placed within it. And, it only nabs gems that are on the ground (in the room you're in), it does not check your hands or your containers. Also, the gem-gather function does not differentiate between gems and critter-created bogus items that intentionally look like gems.

The gather-gem function is intended to simplify gathering multiple gems, but not to provide a magical ability, so you will need at least one hand free, and not severely damaged, in order to "gather pouch" successfully. Also, the goal is to emulate manual retrieval of the gems, so if your "gather pouch" command involves a cursed gem, it will wind up stuck in what was your free hand.
