Ma'Henrith Caverns Exhibit in Museum Alerreth

This is a log of the tour that was given at the Museum Alerreth for the Ma'Henrith Caverns Exhibit. It is from the perspective of Fehala.

Log Note: very abbreviated log from the Museum event. It removes all but the museum curator's comments, and excludes non-pertinent GM interactions and anything that didn't seem pertinent to the storyline.

>look at scrolls

The scrolls are piled carefully, though they are of diferent sizes and materials. The fabric of

some has gone slightly tinged with age, while others seem as new. Bits of writing and

images of glyphs and fowers peek out from a few scrolls. A copper plaque is placed

nearby.

>read scrolls

In the Common language, it reads:

Countless scholars have used the scrolls of Ma'Henrith Caverns to further their

research. This particular subset of the collection is concerned with evidence of contact

between elves and sylvan following the Battle of of ShadowGuard.

Meril says, "The souls of the sylvan dead are not held in ashes. Stone crumbles, and earth

consumes. We should remember that the Grandfather takes all material things in the end."

>look at amphorae

There are hundreds, maybe thousands of amphorae. All are shaped from alabaster, though

the hues of the vessels difer. Some are a creamy yellow, others starkly white, with the

occasional pinkish or bluish amphora thrown in. Every single one is empty. A prominent

copper plaque sits nearby.

Tiwlip agrees with Meril.

Laevynia says, "And here, we have reached the fnal room of the exhibit."

>read amphorae

In the Common language, it reads:

It was the work of researcher Relian Degaloth's life to catalogue the contents of the

Ma'Henrith Caverns. The amphorae and scrolls displayed here represent only a small

fraction of the total recovered from the site. Discoveries in the felds of herbalism and

medicine, literature, religious studies, and history have come from Degaloth's

research. Today, scholars from the Library Aies and the Museum Alerreth continue to make

use of the collection in teaching and further study.

Laevynia says, "While this is but a small assemblage of artifacts, we of the Museum and

the Library do fnd it an illuminating example of the insights the Caverns had to ofer."

Tiwlip goes pale, folding her hands together behind her back.

Laevynia says, "And yet how much we still do not know."

Tiwlip quietly says, in Sylvankind, "There's too many here. There's just...too much...here."

Freiren nods at Tiwlip.

Tiwlip shakes her head, biting her lip.

Freiren says, in Sylvankind, "It a lot."

Kayse glances askance at Tiwlip.

Laevynia says, "It is our hope we can learn even more from sylvan scholars and historians

as well."

Laevynia says, "Now, you may continue to peruse at your own leisure, of course."

Leisette says, "Perhaps this will create an avenue for learning between sylvankind and

elves."

Lucraine applauds Laevynia.

Aendir says, speaking to Laevynia, "I am certain there's so much to learn."

Laevynia says, "As this was but a fast run through a detailed exhibit."

Laevynia says, "We do, however, have refreshments back at the entrance if you wish to join

me there."

Aihan says, speaking quietly in Sylvankind to Tiwlip, "This makes no sense. This is the guise

of the work of generations of our people, and it is not the way."

Fleurs says, speaking to Laevynia, "Thank you for the tour. It was most informative."

You say, speaking tersely in Elven to Leisette, "You could have returned them to our

people. And not displayed them in this gross-" Another wide wave to encompass all around

her, "-travesty."

Lucraine says, speaking to Laevynia, "Well done thank you for sharing your knowledge."

Nalira bites her lip.

Tiwlip says, in Sylvankind, "We..."

Leisette asks, speaking to you, "Me? I'm here as a guest just as you are. However, I would

ask... where would you have liked them returned to?"

Eruien says, speaking evenly to you, "She is not Illistimi." [How can you tell one city-elf

apart from another, eh?]

Aendir asks, speaking reasonably to you, "We are in a museum. Is there a more proper

place to display something?"

You say, in Elven, "Any sylvan. Any kinship would have taken them, and found their proper

home."

You say, speaking in Elven to Aendir, "They should not be 'displayed'."

Nalira says, speaking in Elven to Eruien, "I think she means a general...you, my lord."

Felarion says, "Thank you for the tour, and for the care obviously taken with the collection."

Leisette says, "I did not realize that sylvan individuals perceived themselves as a whole."

Meril quietly says, "Not anyone would take them, I think, but perhaps we may speak on it

later."

Ionlas says, "I will be sure to lift your concerns to the Argent Mirror."

Tiwlip leans over and whispers, "We will. This will not stand."

Leisette says, speaking to Felarion, "It does seem as though great care was taken in both

honoring, studying, and displaying them."

Tiwlip looks thoughtfully at Leisette.

Aendir says, "I would contend that a Museum is a place of honor."

Laevynia listens intently to the conversations.

Raelee asks, speaking to Laevynia, "Did I overlook it, or does the exhibit not contain

information regarding the location of the caverns?"

Nalira says, in Elven, "Maybe it is for your Houses, but perhaps it is not for Sylvankind...I

don't have a vested interest in the argument either way, but perhaps it should have been

prudent to gain permission frst."

Laevynia says, "I do understand that some individuals may be less than thrilled, but there

is not necessarily a single body to reach out to for some things."

Aendir curiously asks, in Elven, "Whom would they get permission from?"

Nalira says, speaking in Elven to Aendir, "I really do not know."

Aihan says, speaking quietly in Elven to Ionlas, "That would be one of the wisest things said

so far today. Hopefully some understanding can be met over this...cultural blunder."

You quietly whisper to Tiwlip, "I have bees in my pocket. We can use them as a

distraction. Aihan has feet feet, no one can catch him if he begins to run."

Tiwlip appears to think about something.

Laevynia says, "Now, I do recognize the consternation some of our sylvan kin are feeling

here, and I will ensure both library and museum oficials are aware there is a concern by

some."

Tiwlip shakes her head.

Shaelethe says, "That is kind of you."

Laevynia says, "I do hope, however, we can continue in harmony with the intent of the

exhibit -- to share and learn."

Tiwlip leans over and whispers, "That is not the way. They won't learn from that."

Laevynia says, "Now, please, join me for the refreshments. Let us move toward the

entrance."

[Much walking back to the beginning.]

Kelfyr says, "Much learning has occurred today, for certain."

Tiwlip turns to face Laevynia.

Laevynia says, "There is also a small trinket just outside for those wishing to

commemorate the event."

Tiwlip asks, speaking to Laevynia, "Who is in charge of this museum?"

Laevynia says, "Oh and I do believe there was a question as to the location of the

caverns. They are near Ithnishmyn, which is within a few days' journey of here."

Raelee asks, speaking to Laevynia, "How long was the expedition?"

Laevynia says, speaking to Tiwlip, "The curator is Lady Zenlynn, and I work closely with

her."

Aihan says, speaking quietly in Elven to Laevynia, "Perhaps a discourse would be wise,

after tempers have cooled."

Tiwlip asks, speaking to Laevynia, "And who does she answer to?"

Leisette says, speaking quietly to Naevys, "Some lovely pieces on the gift table fashioned in

the image of some found items here."

You dryly ask, in Elven, "Did not the tomb-robber steal all their value already?"

Leisette says, speaking to Rohese, "Your little fox item has a replica on the table."

Laevynia says, "Beyond that, the Argent Mirror would hold it under her purview with such

leadership and oversight as she sees ft."

Tiwlip says, "I see."

Nalira whispers, "I know perhaps they should have left funerial items where they were, but I

have to say...it was interesting seeing some of the culture of your people. I'm sure there is

far more yet to experience...but it was nice."

Ionlas says, "She is quite interested in amiable relations between all races, so I expect she

will handle it with grace."

Tiwlip says, in Sylvankind, "This curator is not who we should direct our ire to."

Laevynia says, "There was never any intent for anything but respect and the sharing of

knowledge."

Fehala smiles weakly at Nalira, giving a sad bob of her head.

You tersely say, in Sylvankind, "It is all Illistimi with hearts poisoned by ink. It is their way --

each of them is to blame. They could have chosen a diferent path, and become a diferent

people."

Tiwlip asks, speaking to Laevynia, "And, if someone came forward to claim something, to

claim one of the pieces. Would it be returned?"

Leisette says, "While I understand that the topic is unsettling, I am pleased to have learned

new things about sylvankind this day. I would surmise that those in charge of such afairs

meant the utmost of respect in the interest of shared knowledge."

You glance between Tiwlip and Laevynia.

Aihan quietly says, in Elven, "If I might make a suggestion for anyone wishing to soothe

rufled feathers, as might be said? Perhaps a bit less patronizing of us "less enlightend

kin"."

Laevynia says, "I do not believe sylvans are less enlightened."

Laevynia says, "And I do not appreciate any implication that I feel this way."

Leisette says, "Nor do I."

Laevynia says, "Insofar as whether or not we would return an item to a claimant, we would

need to review the claim, of course."

Leisette says, "I have never viewed the sylvan as "lesser kin" in any capacity."

Laevynia says, "But if we hold an item that is truly the property of another, then we would

most certainly return that."

Kelfyr says, speaking to Laevynia, "'Thank you for your guided tour through the artifacts of

my peoples. I'm pleased the Museum saw ft to share them with us."

Shaelethe says, "I think remembering the intent can be helpful in not taking ofense

unnecessarily."

Tiwlip says, speaking to Laevynia, "Tell your curator and your Argent Mirror. We are coming

to make a claim."

Laevynia says, speaking to Tiwlip, "I shall, of course, pass along that you have felt unrest

about this and wish to discuss the issue."

Tiwlip strides out, her image fickering. She looks suddenly much less prim.

Aihan quietly says, in Elven, "Perhaps less enlightened is the wrong term. I suppose we

would be those whose standard of living is ...less."."

Leisette raises an eyebrow.

You tersely say, in Sylvankind, "I did not release the bees this time. Next time, I may not still

my hand."

Laevynia says, "I do believe I stated in the beginning that while that is a belief held by some

that it was but one take of many."

Shaelethe shifts her eyes to you.

Leisette says, "Are these your words that you are projecting on me? I've only ever found the

sylvankind that I have had the pleasure of meeting to be kind, open, and expressive."

Laevynia says, "I do not see the need to sow such discord."

Aihan quietly says, in Elven, "I was merely ofering it as a suggestion for whoever might

attempt such discourse, if it is not yourself."

A whisper in your native tongue bids you tidings of Tiwlip's imminent arrival in the Sleeping

Wood. The message seems to reach only Sylvan ears...

You incline your ear in the direction of the natural air currents and intently focus on the

slightest sound within your environment.

Adalfuns gazes in amusement at you.

Adalfuns chuckles to himself. [That was pretty much every non-Sylvan's opinion of

Fehala's outburst.]

Adalfuns just went out.

Nalira says, "I think I will too. Thank you for the tour."

Leisette says, speaking to Laevynia, "Thank you for the tour, lorekeeper."

Kayse wishes, in Sylvankind, "Fair evening all. Thank you for the tour."

Laevynia says, "Do enjoy the exhibit. I too must take my leave."
