Suddenly, I want to see if a square trained in Two-Handed Weapons retains his parry defense against bolt attacks, since spell-casters appear to do so. It would be interesting to see if a square with a runestaff would have an absurdly high ranged DS due to their training in Dodging and their ability to wield a runestaff with 2x weapon training for it. Granted, this would provide no additional protection against spells that rely on casting strength, and the square would suffer from a low damage factor.
Another thing that might be of interest is testing the difference between ranged and bolt attacks. I don't believe there is one, regarding defensive strength calculations, with the exception of spells such as Resist Elements (it relies on the bolt's elemental nature, and physical "bolts" are not elemental in nature. Although, I would consider arrows from an elemental bow "elemental". I wonder if this spell agrees with me. Lots of wondering going on here!). Of course, if I am found to be wrong in my belief that bolt spells and physical ranged attacks are identical defensively, this page would need to be edited.
