Images and Article Edits at Risk for Deletion
Hi there, CELLORA. In reviewing some recent updates to the wiki, I saw that you have made quite a few edits to Sorlu (prime), which appears to be a character page for someone else's character. There is no indication anywhere that Sorlu's player gave you permission to create or edit a character page on their behalf. Gswiki:Policy prohibits users from editing character pages unless the character is theirs or they have been given permission by that character's player to make those edits. If you do have permission to edit Sorlu's character page, you will need to indicate this by clearly stating it on its Discussion/Talk tab, Talk:Sorlu (prime), that you have been given permission to do so by his player. Alternatively, Sorlu's player can put that information on the discussion page. When adding that information, please make sure to add ~~~~ at the end of your comments, which will automatically add a "signature" with your user name, plus the date and time of when your edit was made.
In addition, there are a couple of images that I have flagged, all of which appear related to the same character article. I think I understand what is going on with the images but would appreciate some clarification from you if my understanding is correct.
- File:Nalfein Crest.png - This image appears to be a duplicate of File:A Nalfein Crest.png. It is not used on any articles. An earlier edit by you to the file noted you as being the creator.
- File:A Nalfein Crest.png - This image appears on Sorlu (prime). This image notes Sorlu as being the creator, as does the caption you added to Sorlu's character page.
Can you confirm who created the image? It appears that Sorlu's player created it, you erroneously placed your name on "Nalfein Crest" then removed it, then reuploaded the image crediting Sorlu. Is that accurate? If so, I will delete the first duplicate file as it is not used anywhere.
- File:Nalfein Crest 3.png - This image appears to be a duplicate of File:Rotting Nalfein Cret.png. It is not used on any articles. This image notes you as being the creator, not Sorlu's player.
- File:Rotting Nalfein Cret.png This image appears on Sorlu (prime). This image notes Sorlu as being the creator, as does the caption you added to Sorlu's character page.
Can you confirm who created the image? It appears that this is a similar situation as the above two images, where you first listed yourself as the creator then re-uploaded the image listing Sorlu as the creator. If that is the case, I will delete the first duplicate file as it is not used anywhere.
In all cases, If that information is not added within 7 days, your edits to the character page and the impacted images will be deleted from the wiki. Thank you very much for clearly taking steps to fully credit images, not just who created them but also if permission was granted to upload them. That is a big help for moderators like me as we review edits to the wiki. The images were a mistake and he created them. I'm still figuring this out and couldn't find a way to edit it. If you could delete them, that would be great! I have also put a note on the Sorlu page that I have permission from his player to edit that page. CELLORA (talk) 13:04, 29 August 2023 (CDT)
