Article/Edits at Risk for Deletion
Hi there, LARSERBEAM. In reviewing some of the recent updates, I saw that you have made edits to Peatwyn (prime), which was originally created and edited by another user. It is not clear who is the player behind Peatwyn, although the edit history seems to indicate that the character may be associated with ELADAMRI.
There is no indication on the article's Discussion/Talk tab that Peatwyn's player gave you permission to create or edit a character page on their behalf. Gswiki:Policy prohibits users from editing character pages unless the character is theirs or they have been given permission by that character's player to make those edits. If you do have permission to edit this character page, you will need to indicate this by clearly stating it on its Discussion/Talk tab, Talk:Peatwyn (prime), that you have been given permission to do so by the player. Simply noting that in the edit reason for an article is not enough for Gswiki:Policy. Alternatively, Peatwyn's player can put that information on the discussion page. When adding that information, please make sure to add ~~~~ at the end of your comments, which will automatically add a "signature" with your user name, plus the date and time of when your edit was made.
If you are Peatwyn's player and you have given permission to anyone else to create or edit the character page, then you will need to clearly state that on Talk:Peatwyn (prime). If you are using multiple accounts to edit a character, you will still need to include that permissions statement. Alternatively, those accounts with permission to edit it can add that information on your behalf. Edits made prior to July, 2023, are grandfathered into an earlier version of Gswiki:Policy for character pages and will not be reverted or deleted.
If that information is not added within 7 days, your recent edits to the character page will be deleted from the wiki. Please do not remove the {{moddelete}} template from any flagged character page. Another moderator or I will remove that template after your updates have been reviewed to ensure that they meet Gswiki:Policy requirements. If you have any questions about this process or need more information about the updated policy for editing character pages, please reach out to the wiki team on the Gemstone Discord forum's wiki thread. Thank you for understanding. HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 09:20, 9 September 2025 (CDT)
- Hi again! Thank you very much for updating Talk:Peatwyn (prime) with your statement that you are the owner of Peatwyn and that you had previously given another account access. Since you stated that moving forward, no other accounts have permission to create/edit your character's page on your behalf, any edits by accounts other than this one will be reverted. If you choose to change that at any point in time, please make sure to update your statement on Talk:Peatwyn (prime) (ideally followed by ~~~~ to add a "signature" at the end) with which accounts have permission to edit it. Gswiki:Policy actually doesn't care about who created a page - it only cares about who owns a character in terms of editing rights. It's perfectly fine to ask someone to create a page on your behalf that you later take over, however this just needs to be documented on the character page's talk tab. This is intended to protect the players behind characters from others creating or editing character pages without their permission. Hopefully that helps clear things up.
