The use of SLEEP is prevented with more than eight other players in a room:

There are far too many people here for you to fall asleep.

Sleeping adds a line at the beginning of the LOOK description:

>look person
Person appears to be sleeping.
You see Person.
He appears to be a Dwarf.
[...]

At least one action is possible while unconscious, but most will be prevented:

UP>sit
That is impossible to do while unconscious!
UP>north
That is impossible to do while unconscious!
UP>yawn
That is impossible to do while unconscious!
UP>roll
You roll over in your sleep.
Roundtime: 2 sec.
UP>snore
You snore rhythmically in your sleep.
Roundtime: 2 sec.

This unconsciousness can be voluntarily ended with use of WAKE:

>wake
You wake up from your slumber.

It can also be ended for external reasons, causing Roundtime for both disturber and disturbee:

>poke sleepy
Sleepy awakens startled.
Roundtime: 3 sec.
You poke Sleepy in the ribs.
You awake from a dream startled. You are sitting down.
Roundtime: 3 sec.
Meany pokes you in the ribs.

Humorously, the following occurs if you SLEEP rolton in front of a rolton:

>sleep rolton
You begin counting roltons to help you fall asleep... 1 ...Your eyes begin to sag before they finally close. You slump over and fall asleep.

XXX points from rolton to rolton as if counting them.
XXX's eyes begin to sag sleepily before they close completely. XXX slumps over and apparently falls asleep.
