OOC NOTE

Care was taken to preserve as much character action as possible while reducing the length. As such the lead up to Crystalhall was omitted from the log.

Prologue

In Icemule Town Center at the start of the evening:

Tiny black bodies flap across the night sky in a swarm. They dip and pivot as one, as if commanded by a solitary intellect. The bats swoop low over the streets of the town, little garnet eyes ever watchful. Several arrows go up from surprised archers along the walls, bringing down a few of the flying creatures, but the swarm moves on unhindered, undulating into the night.

The group, including Mayor Talliver, then investigate what appears to be an area of Icemule that serves as a connection to Sablecross. Only those who possessed a black eahnor ring could freely travel through.

[Forsaken Manse, Yard - ]
Black trees snatch at the cold sky along the wall of the small estate. Dead or dying, the plants of the yard are mostly buried by snowfall, though the space before a small shrine in the shadow of the trees is mostly clear. The manse has fallen into disrepair and not a hint of light beckons from cracked windows hidden behind heavy boards meant to keep out intruders. Along its facade, a trio of slashes are gouged out of the masonry as if an animal's claws have sliced through the stone. You also see a green-eyed orange chinchilla and a smooth grey giant tortoise.
Also here: Elronae, Lady Aliashyrah, Researcher Darphin, Bakarus, Polveiss, Necrotic Admiral Loralaii, Urchin Gutstorm
Obvious paths: none

As this is a literal dead end the party regroups and inquires about Prinn's latest visions. (extremely condensed)

Prinn softly says, "I see a pillar of stone, melted like a candle. It's in a place like none I have ever before seen. Such... alien construction."
Nalver asks, "Paintings?"
Speaking to Prinn, Tatterclaws asks, "What seemed foreign about the architecture?"
Speaking to Tatterclaws, Prinn says, "It was of colossal size, with cyclopean stones that could not have been moved by any mortal hand."
Perigourd says, "Crystalhall, perhaps."
Speaking deeply to Prinn, Myharl asks, "And the sky above the pillar?"
Speaking wryly to Perigourd, Meliyara asks, "Are they not mortals that built it?"
Speaking quietly to Perigourd, Talliver says, "I'd had the same thought."
Speaking to Meliyara, Perigourd says, "Gigas, possibly."
Yardie asks, "Perhaps the orb will allow for the strength to move it?"
Speaking to Meliyara, Perigourd says, "But this.. melted column brings back a memory of the place."
Prinn softly says, "Madness and torment impart a certain poetry to one's words. I mean to say that it could not have been wrought by mere humans."
Speaking to Perigourd, Lilanna says, "That's what i was thinking."
Prinn says, "I've heard of Crystalhall, but I haven't been there. Perhaps I should make a sojourn and see what it is that my tormentor wants."
Speaking to Prinn, Talliver says, "I wouldn't go alone."
Speaking quietly to Prinn, Opalina says, "I agree with the Mayor on that one.. It's a dangerous trek."
Speaking to Talliver, Perigourd says, "I would think that those of us here could escort her if it would prove useful, and we've yet to really know what else may lie within the caverns there."
Prinn says, "If the way to Crystalhall is dangerous, perhaps I might prevail upon a few of you to guide my path."
Lilanna says, "I see."
Lithyia says, "I think this group can take you there."
Speaking confidently to Prinn, Talliver says, "Yes, that can certainly be arranged."

Crystalhall Log

[Crystalhall, Sanctuary - 34063]
Atop a tiered dais of white rock stands the ruined remnant of a runestone. The monument resembles a spent candle, the stone melted and bubbled as if devoured by great heat. Silver streaks traveling through the black stone glint like moonlight off of a flowing river. Pale orbs of ancient crystal are set into the ceiling. Silvery light spills down with a brilliance that outshines the nearby torches. The radiance illuminates deep-graven carvings on the glossy stone walls. You also see a brilliant purple kitten wearing a purple collar clasped with a pair of crossed silver swords, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, a green-eyed orange chinchilla, the Elronae disk, the hammered silver Meliyara disk, the Ibar disk, a golden-eyed jet black osprey that is flying around, a barrow crow that is flying around, a massive snowy white tiger and a disheveled grey cat that is sitting.
Also here: Researcher Darphin, Sammoon, Lord Randsford, Elronae, Myharl, Magister Raelee, Mayor Talliver, Nalver, Blade Yardie, Lady Ithilwyn, Chronicler Falvicar, Roelon, Lady Opalina, Conquerer of Reim Tatterclaws, Ibar, Sardine, Olgretien, Prinn, Blades, Conquerer of Reim Meliyara, Bakarus, Necrotic Admiral Loralaii, Urchin Gutstorm, Lord Sorlu, Lady Aliashyrah, Lithyia, Wolfloner, Recruiter Lilanna, Perigourd
Obvious exits: northeast, southeast, west
A single prismatic mote drifts lazily through the air, spiraling gently toward the ground. As it touches down, a resplendent pillar of rainbowed light erupts from it, blazing toward the heavens, and Saradrin steps forth from the radiant cascade.
Sorlu smirks at Lithyia.
Lithyia grins.
Speaking to a melted silver-shot black runestone, Gutstorm asks, "Who da painter?"
Perigourd glances at a melted silver-shot black runestone.
Lithyia fiddles with the top of the pink lace tote, causing the metal plates to open.
Spreading his fingers wide, Darphin holds his hands over the ground, and a sudden chill fills the air as shadows rise to his bidding.
The grey cat stands up.
The grey cat pads around the room.
Meliyara looks thoughtfully at Saradrin.
Lithyia fiddles with the top of the pink lace tote, causing the metal plates to snap closed.
Lithyia rubs a melted silver-shot black runestone.
Speaking curiously to himself, Myharl asks, "To paint... in the River of Color?"
Lilanna nods at Ibar.
Sardine points at Prinn.
Olgretien deeply says, "Prinn painted."
Ibar shifts his weight.
Wolfloner loses some awareness.
Darphin pants.
Myharl glances at a melted silver-shot black runestone.
Lithyia fiddles with the top of the pink lace tote, causing the metal plates to open.
Lithyia invokes the divine name of Niima as she stows her rolaren dagger in her cognac leather wrist-sheath with a flash of luminescent ocean blue mist. A salty spray of ocean water lingers briefly in the air.
Prinn backs away from the pillar.
Lithyia removes a lacquered art supply case from in her pink lace tote.
Gutstorm grunts at Olgretien skeptically, raising his bushy eyebrows.
Prinn frowns at Saradrin.
Lithyia removes a fine-tipped wooden paintbrush with natural bristles from in her art supply case.
Lithyia offers Prinn a fine-tipped wooden paintbrush with natural bristles.
Roelon shifts his weight.
Sorlu leans leisurely on his Nalfein-styled cane, a thoughtful expression upon his face.
Olgretien raises an eyebrow in Prinn's direction.
Lithyia asks, "Need a paintbrsh?"
Wolfloner takes a moment to observe Prinn.
The fish in Elronae's translucent sack comes to a sudden stop, and one of its milky white eyes rotates in place, tracking the movement of something unseen. After a short while, the eye snaps back to the front, and the fish resumes its normal meanderings.
Ibar squints at Lithyia.
You say, "I do not beleive we should be taking those words so literally."
Speaking drunkenly to Olgretien, Gutstorm says, "Me think Prinn ish da canvas, not da painter."
Spreading his fingers wide, Darphin holds his hands over the ground, and a sudden chill fills the air as shadows rise to his bidding.
Lithyia says, "What? I'm a painter... just not of weird visions."
Spreading his fingers wide, Darphin holds his hands over the ground, and a sudden chill fills the air as shadows rise to his bidding.
Roelon grins at Lithyia.
Ibar says, "The two paintings in my locker say otherwise."
Lithyia shrugs.
Raelee narrows her eyes slightly, studying Saradrin with a cool, analytical gaze.
Lithyia grins at Ibar.
Elronae grins at Ibar.
Sardine says, "Looks like a sacrifice is needed. Unless someone has paint."
Speaking patiently to Prinn, Saradrin says, "You have long sought answers."
Lithyia exclaims, "Sorlu it is then!"
Lithyia exclaims, "Get him!"
Gutstorm grunts at Lithyia in agreement.
Randsford looks over at Sardine and shakes his head.
Lithyia put a fine-tipped wooden paintbrush with natural bristles in her art supply case.
Darphin says, "I have blood."
Sorlu gazes in amusement at Lithyia.
Speaking deeply to Gutstorm, Olgretien says, "Prolly right."
Lithyia put a lacquered art supply case in her pink lace tote.
Roelon shakes his head.
Lithyia fiddles with the top of the pink lace tote, causing the metal plates to snap closed.
Darphin says, "We could paint it with that."
Perigourd says, "I expect there will be no sacricies without the approval of the giants that live here."
Lithyia draws her rolaren dagger in the divine name of Niima! The dagger traces an arc of luminescent ocean blue mist in its wake. A salty spray of ocean water fills the air for a moment.
Perigourd says, "Sacrifices, rather."
The grey cat sits down, her tail curling to cover her front paws.
Sorlu nods at Perigourd.
Lithyia says, "I dont see any giants around."
Perigourd says, "And even then, I'd advise agaisnt it."
Lithyia glances at Perigourd.
Nalver says, "These feels like a trick."
Meliyara takes a moment to observe Saradrin.
Randsford asks, "Why are we jumping to sacrifices?"
Lithyia says, "But i see a Sorlu."
Lithyia nods.
Randsford nods in agreement at Perigourd.
Speaking to Saradrin, Prinn says, "I have."
Speaking drunkenly to Randsford, Gutstorm says, "It allway come down to sacrifice."
Olgretien removes a jet black mithril claidhmore from in his wolverine pelt sheath.
Bakarus stows his dawn surita staff in his runestaff sling with a wicked burst of green necrotic haze. As it leaves his hands, the illumination of its sigils slowly ebbs away.
Randsford nods.
A sense of peace and calm resettles over the area.
The mirror images surrounding Lilanna undulate and grow stronger.
Lilanna renews her songs.
Speaking to Gutstorm, Randsford says, "There incant 1612."
Speaking to Perigourd, Nalver says, "This whole painting images that see the future thing has been done quite a few times and it always led to some Luukosian plot."
Randsford gazes heavenward.
Randsford says, "There is rot."
The grey cat stares hungrily at a pale-faced coppery barn owl.
Speaking to Randsford, Darphin says, "Like eating an undesirable dinner, eat worst part first and the rest isnt so bad."
Your senses are no longer as sharp.
The dully illuminated mantle protecting Wolfloner begins to falter, then completely fades away.
The dim aura fades from around Wolfloner.
Wolfloner begins to breathe less deeply.
Lithyia whispers something to Randsford.
Speaking gently to Prinn, Saradrin says, "It was I who guided you from the darkness, but not to your detriment."
Randsford begins chuckling at Lithyia!
Speaking to Nalver, Perigourd says, "They're double-edged, for certain."
Lithyia grins at Randsford.
Sorlu glances between Nalver and Perigourd.
Myharl glances at Saradrin.
Lilanna peers quizzically at Randsford.
Lithyia glances at Saradrin.
Speaking to a disheveled grey cat, Gutstorm says, "Get in line, me got firsht crack at dat owl."
Speaking to Randsford, Darphin says, "Sacrificing 20 people didnt work, now it dont seem so bad to give it 100 coins."
Perigourd raises an eyebrow in Saradrin's direction.
Speaking sharply to Saradrin, Prinn exclaims, "But certainly not to my benefit, either!"
Sorlu cocks his head at Saradrin.
Randsford sighs at Darphin.
Lilanna blinks at Saradrin.
Blades glances at Saradrin.
Sammoon grins.
Opalina turns to face Saradrin.
Lithyia asks, "Did anyone else not see this fellow come in?"
Lithyia glances at Saradrin.
Lithyia mutters sneaky.
Speaking to Saradrin, Talliver asks, "You're the one who has been guiding us, then. Prinn's visions--and ours?"
Sardine asks, "And does he have chocolate?"
You see Saradrin, the Farseer.
He appears to be a Human.
He is short and gaunt. He appears to be middle-aged. He has hooded dark grey eyes and tanned skin. He has short, fine raven black hair with streaks of rainbowed color. He has a broad face, a red nose and an a neatly trimmed goatee streaked with color. Though his eyes are grey, specks in a kaleidoscope of colors dance through the irises.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a dark rose red scarf fringed with silken tassels, a smoky crystal sphere suspended from a dark steel chain, a loose ochre shirt with dark rose red brocade at the hems, a pair of dark rose red breeches with black steel buttons, and a pair of black leather shoes.
Gutstorm drunkenly asks, "Saradrin ishda painter?"
Roelon raises an eyebrow in Saradrin's direction.
A pale-faced coppery barn owl briefly puffs up into a ball of feathers.
Speaking to Lithyia, Aliashyrah says, "He seemed to materialize from the pillar, some time ago."
Ibar stares at Sardine.
Aliashyrah flashes a quick grin at Lithyia.
Sammoon rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Gutstorm removes a tricolor chocolate candy cane from in his keg-shaped pack.
Lithyia sighs.
Lithyia says, "You are so observant."
Gutstorm offers Saradrin a tricolor chocolate candy cane.
Lithyia nods at Aliashyrah.
Bakarus's black ora prayerbeads pulses and he suddenly looks drained!
Lithyia says, "I am jealous of that."
Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Choclit."
Lithyia nods at Aliashyrah.
Necrotic Admiral Loralaii flounces west amidst a diffuse cloud of purple glitter.
Speaking to Aliashyrah, Meliyara agrees, "With quite the display of light."
A green-eyed orange chinchilla scurries off.
Randsford returns to normal color.
The air about Randsford stops shimmering.
Randsford seems to lose some dexterity.
Randsford takes a deep breath, blinking a couple of times before resuming a calm expression.
A series of crystal green lines suddenly appears on Randsford's face, quickly racing towards the center of his forehead before detaching and dissipating in the air.
Lilanna glances west.
A barrow crow flaps low, nearly brushing the top of your head.
A golden-eyed jet black osprey seems hesitant, looking unsure of herself.
A massive snowy white tiger seems hesitant, looking unsure of herself.
A massive snowy white tiger seems slightly different.
A golden-eyed jet black osprey seems slightly different.
Speaking to Meliyara, Aliashyrah agrees, "It did seem rather difficult to miss."
Nalver raises a hand into the air, his brow knitting. Spiraling wisps of essence wind up his arm and into the air overhead, taking on the shape of an incorporeal raven-haired vereri, which moves to hover over his shoulder.
Lithyia exclaims, "I was distracted by trying to get Sorlu in the bowl!"
Lithyia grins at Aliashyrah.
Speaking to Saradrin, Nalver says, "Does that look familiar."
Lilanna tilts her head toward Saradrin, examining him intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.
Sorlu begins chuckling at Lithyia!
Saradrin patiently says, "I have shared glimpses of the path ahead, yes."
Nalver glances at an incorporeal raven-haired vereri.
Speaking to Prinn, Nalver asks, "Or to you?"
Sammoon gazes heavenward.
Gutstorm carefully places a tricolor chocolate candy cane on the floor.
Bakarus turns an inquisitive ear toward Saradrin.
Sorlu cocks his head at Saradrin.
Perigourd looks thoughtfully at Saradrin.
Sorlu surreptitiously glances at Bakarus.
Yardie asks, "Was that the one that spoke to us when Evii did....what Evii did?"
Speaking to Saradrin, Perigourd asks, "The path leading where?"
Perigourd raises an eyebrow.
Sammoon becomes unbalanced for a second, then recovers.
Sammoon appears to lose some internal strength.
The deep blue glow leaves Sammoon.
Sammoon takes a deep breath, blinking a couple of times before resuming a calm expression.
The misty halo fades from Sammoon.
A series of aqua blue lines suddenly appears on Sammoon's face, quickly racing towards the center of his forehead before detaching and dissipating in the air.
Speaking to Perigourd, Saradrin says, "Safely through, or at least that is my hope."
A pale-faced coppery barn owl swivels his head around, suddenly sharp-eyed and intent.
Lithyia asks, "To where?"
Perigourd nods slowly.
Sammoon reaches out and touches a melted silver-shot black runestone.
Gutstorm glances between a tricolor chocolate candy cane and a pale-faced coppery barn owl.
Speaking to Saradrin, Sardine asks, "Are you friend or foe? Why arent you a giant? Are you evil? Do you have chocolate?"
Saradrin steps toward Prinn and places a hand gently on her forehead.
Sammoon says, "Rapid fire questions."
Gutstorm glances between Saradrin and Sardine.
Darphin removes an enameled tin chocolate box from in his leather case.
Sammoon nods.
Darphin removes a piece of cocoa-dusted chocolate from in his tin chocolate box.
Myharl walks toward Prinn.
Myharl glances at Saradrin.
Perigourd peers into a polished crystal ball with a carved modwir base.
Gutstorm holds his palm out toward Darphin, looking for a handout.
Sammoon says, "Mebbe Saradrin comes for alla taters."
Darphin shrugs.
Sammoon glances at Gutstorm.
Prinn trembles as if cold, but then her face goes calm and she stands straighter, as if relieved of a heavy burden.
Darphin offers Sardine a piece of cocoa-dusted chocolate.
A massive snowy white tiger shifts restlessly, her paws flexing to reveal long sharp claws.
Speaking to Sardine, Darphin says, "There,"
The coppery barn owl ruffles his feathers.
Perigourd glances between Saradrin and Prinn.
Sardine accepts Darphin's cocoa-dusted chocolate.
The grey cat stands up.
The grey cat pads around the room.
Sardine says, "No further questions."
Nalver just left.
Sardine takes a bite of her cocoa-dusted chocolate.
Swirling about in confusion at the absence of its master, an incorporeal raven-haired vereri suddenly explodes into glittering dust and fades away.
A pale-faced coppery barn owl swivels his head around, suddenly sharp-eyed and intent.
Speaking curiously to Prinn, Perigourd asks, "How do you feel?"
Speaking to Prinn, Saradrin says, "I release you."
Speaking drunkenly to Sardine, Gutstorm asks, "It tashte ash goot ash it look?"
Your veins throb and your blood sings.
Sammoon turns to Prinn and cheers!
Speaking hesitantly to Perigourd, Prinn says, "Lighter."
Sardine nods at Gutstorm.
Speaking to Prinn, Sammoon exclaims, "Yer free!"
Falvicar nods once.
Lithyia glances at Saradrin.
Sardine places her hand on her cocoa-dusted chocolate.
Ibar pets a brilliant purple kitten wearing a purple collar clasped with a pair of crossed silver swords.
The purple kitten begins to purr gently for no particular reason.
Speaking hesitantly to Saradrin, Prinn asks, "What did you do?"
Ibar nods once.
Sorlu adopts an agreeable expression.
Roelon winks.
Gutstorm leans on Roelon.
Repeating the sign has no effect!
Nalver just arrived.
A lithe aquamarine qakoni teadragon with geometrical peach markings scurries off.
Saradrin says, "The eye that I opened is now closed."
Nalver mutters under his breath.
Gutstorm squints as if he has something in his eye.
Bakarus gazes through the crystalline lens of his monocle, his eyes roving over every inch of Saradrin.
Nalver joins Lilanna's group.
You feel a subdued warmth through your arms and torso, accompanied by a preponderant sense of engagement.
Sammoon says, "A mental burdening is as good as any weight."
Perigourd surreptitiously glances at Bakarus.
The coppery barn owl preens himself quietly.
Sorlu smiles at Aliashyrah.
(OOC) Darphin's player whispers to the group, "Whats the diffrence between a hippo and a zippo? a hippo is a 2 ton animal, a zippo is a lil lighter."
Perigourd seems to lose some internal strength.
Gutstorm grunts at Darphin and shakes his head.
Nalver removes a small veniom-bound armoire from in his elesine cloak.
Nalver opens his veniom-bound armoire, then suddenly several articles of clothing fly off of him and into the armoire.
Nalver put a small veniom-bound armoire in his elesine cloak.
Sardine snickers.
(OOC) Lilanna's player whispers to the group, "Boo hiss."
The grey cat licks her right paw, seemingly oblivious to the world around her.
Perigourd appears less confident and fearless.
Sammoon grins.
Speaking to Saradrin, Talliver asks, "Am I to understand that you are an agent of Jastev, then?"
Sammoon rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Nalver nods at Talliver.
Speaking to Talliver, Lilanna says, "My thoughts went that way."
Sammoon says, "I know dat name."
Falvicar nods in greeting at Saradrin.
Nalver whispers to the group, "The feather dancer..."
Speaking to Saradrin, Randsford asks, "Do you normally make it a habbit of torturing people like so?"
Randsford squints at Saradrin.
Roelon touches Randsford.
Randsford shakes his head.
Speaking to Randsford, Perigourd says, "Some would be grateful to receive such sight."
Nalver whispers to the group, "All this crazy talk I did a year ago matches all this to a.....forseen painting."
Nalver chuckles.
Speaking deeply to Perigourd, Roelon asks, "Depends on the sights one sees. Aye?"
Lithyia grins at Nalver.
Saradrin wonderingly asks, "Is the brush an agent of the hand that wields it, or merely a tool to be used?"
Speaking to Perigourd, Randsford says, "If they asked for it perhaps, Prinn did not seem to enjoy any of that."
A sense of peace and calm resettles over the area.
The mirror images surrounding Lilanna undulate and grow stronger.
Lilanna renews her songs.
The deep blue glow leaves Nalver.
Speaking curiously to Saradrin, Raelee asks, "How do you perceive the path? As a single certainty or as a sample of all possibilities? Do you see the other possibilities and paths?"
Speaking to Roelon, Perigourd says, "Again, a double-edged sword."
Speaking to Nalver, Sammoon says, "But yer still crazy."
Lilanna whispers to the group, "Crazy talk!"
Speaking to Raelee, Saradrin says, "Yes."
Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Why ye askin ush when yoo know da answer."
Sorlu grins at Nalver.
Saradrin turns to face Randsford.
Gutstorm suspiciously grunts at Sardine.
Raelee frowns.
Meliyara looks thoughtfully at Saradrin.
Speaking to Saradrin, Nalver asks, "Again...does my vereri look familiar to you?"
Sardine grins wickedly at Gutstorm.
Nalver pouts.
Randsford folds his arms over his chest.
Nalver says, "She went away."
Tatterclaws removes a beckoning nedum vereri hand from in his sylvan shirt.
Speaking to Randsford, Perigourd says, "I imagine it's as much a burden as a gift. A heavy responsibility, and that's assuming one can understand what they see."
Speaking to Randsford, Saradrin says, "Pigments are spent when painting. There is no malice to that."
Prinn touches Randsford.
Tatterclaws put a beckoning nedum vereri hand in his sylvan shirt.
Lithyia says, "You could have saved us all a lot of time if you just came out and said whatever you needed to say."
Lithyia glances at Saradrin.
Speaking deeply to Saradrin, Myharl says, "You speak like an Arkati."
Speaking to Randsford, Prinn says, "He... speaks true. I think."
Myharl grunts.
Lithyia says, "It's always the riddles... always...."
Lithyia stares off into space.
Falvicar ponders.
Speaking to Saradrin, Randsford says, "We already have much to deal with, speak what you need to say. You have done enough harm already. I believe we are entitled to answers."
Sorlu grins at Lithyia.
Speaking to Saradrin, Sardine asks, "So how do we paint with you?"
Nalver whispers to the group, "Nevermind, I'm confusing Jaston and Jastev."
Lilanna says, "Not a riddle, people are expendable is all I heard."
Sardine takes a bite of her cocoa-dusted chocolate.
Randsford nods in agreement at Lilanna.
Sorlu glances at Lilanna.
The grey cat pads around the room.
Nalver gives Gutstorm a friendly punch to the shoulder.
A golden-eyed jet black osprey hovers briefly near the ceiling.
Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Me am not shpendable."
The grey cat licks her left paw, seemingly oblivious to the world around her.
Gutstorm grunts at Lilanna and shakes his head.
Lilanna glances at Saradrin.
Lithyia agrees with Gutstorm.
Sardine put a piece of cocoa-dusted chocolate in her leather gem pouch.
Saradrin blinks his eyes, and when they open once more, they are full of colorful light.
Lithyia says, "You are one of a kind Guts."
Speaking to Lilanna, Darphin says, "It was a little worse than that. but yes, ends and means."
Sardine just closed a heavy blue leather gem pouch.
Myharl glances at Saradrin.
Perigourd takes a moment to observe Saradrin.
Falvicar gazes into Saradrin's eyes.
Lilanna says, "Evil... is when ye start to treat people like things."
Speaking to Roelon, Randsford says, "Prinn is not the only one affected by these visions it would seem. Many sleepless nights."
Randsford glances between Roelon and Talliver.
Ibar shifts his weight.
Roelon nods at Randsford.
Saradrin says, "The Orb has been found. Its fate is on the edge of a razor."
Wolfloner turns an inquisitive ear toward Saradrin.
Speaking deeply to Randsford, Roelon says, "To avoid such dreams."
Leaning gently against Falvicar, Opalina closes her eyes and sighs contentedly. Falvicar responds by slipping his arm around her.
Randsford closes his eyes for a moment.
Saradrin distantly says, "I would see it safely away, and placed beyond the reach of those who would use it."
Randsford bows his head and chants a short prayer, causing vibrant red and pale pink light to momentarily coalesce in front of him.
Speaking to Saradrin, Darphin says, "And while youre expending pigments on your painting... which way do you wish the razer to tilt."
Lithyia says, "Well unfortunately, it is not here."
Yardie says, "Can easily dull that razor's blade if you get it away from the Coven."
Lithyia chuckles.
Sammoon says, "Good idea."
Sammoon nods.
Falvicar nods.
Bakarus ponders.
Lithyia grins at Gutstorm.
Raelee slowly says, "... if its fate is on the edge of a razor, that implies its fate is as of yet uncertain."
(OOC) Sammoon's player whispers to the group, "Wasn't there an orb er somethin?"
Gutstorm grunts at Lithyia and nods.
(OOC) Lithyia's player whispers to the group, "Yes but the person in possession of the orb is not here tonight."
Speaking deeply to Saradrin, Myharl asks, "How would you see such an outcome?"
Perigourd furrows his brow.
Gutstorm gawks at Lithyia.
Lithyia grins at Gutstorm.
Sammoon asks, "An artifact or somethin?"
Sammoon says, "Counter da energy, make it sleepy."
A barrow crow hovers briefly near the ceiling.
Speaking to Raelee, Yardie says, "That uncertainty depends on if it ends up in the wrong hands."
Speaking to Raelee, Saradrin says, "Fate is ever uncertain."
Speaking carefully to Saradrin, Prinn says, "But you have tried to control it."
(OOC) Myharl's player whispers to the group, "The orb isn't here because it's stuck in a vault tha can't be accessed. Jast isn't feeling well, so isn't here either, but regardless, OOC there's no way to get it."
Speaking quietly to Saradrin, Opalina asks, "What does the orb look like?"
Speaking to Sammoon, Sardine says, "It is an artifact that the folks at Sablecross want so they can do their spooky stuff and claim they would leave us alone."
Speaking to Saradrin, Perigourd asks, "You said you saw the path ahead, what would be our next steps down this path?"
Saradrin says, "Guide, not control."
Sorlu whispers something to Aliashyrah.
Sorlu brushes his fingers lightly against his emerald talisman.
Randsford says, "The only fate is the actions we wield."
Aliashyrah smiles at Sorlu.
Randsford nods firmly.
(OOC) Lithyia's player whispers to the group, "Yeah that family vault situation is... it is."
Lithyia grins.
Speaking to Talliver, Darphin says, "We should surely give the orb to a person... being, we just met. a person who has described people as things to be used, and has tortured Prinn for months.. sounds like a toper of an idea."
Speaking to Saradrin, Falvicar says, "Prithee, and I mean no disrespect by this, but I find it peculiar that the Orb of Kai has Jastev's watch over it vs Kai's. I do not disagree with safeguarding it since tis better than the Coven laying claim to it."
Speaking to Yardie, Raelee says, "The hands it falls into is an aspect of the uncertainty."
Speaking to Sardine, Sammoon says, "Ah."
Randsford says, "Those that side with Icemule as those that side with the Coven."
Randsford snorts!
Randsford says, "Actions, that is what will bring our fate."
Speaking to Saradrin, Randsford says, "Not some more prophecy."
Randsford scoffs.
Talliver glances between Darphin and Falvicar.
Roelon deeply says, "Bring and seal it."
Roelon nods at Randsford.
Sardine agrees with Darphin.
Gutstorm grunts at the kitten in agreement.
Speaking to Falvicar, Saradrin says, "We play our parts, Blade of the Night."
Roelon nods at Falvicar.
Speaking reassuringly to Talliver, Falvicar says, "I promise you I'd rather die than the Coven get it."
Speaking to a brilliant purple kitten wearing a purple collar clasped with a pair of crossed silver swords, Gutstorm says, "Gettem."
Lithyia pets a brilliant purple kitten wearing a purple collar clasped with a pair of crossed silver swords.
With no warning, the purple kitten's tail puffs up into a club-shaped plume and its eyes fix on a spot somewhere on Lithyia's face.
Lithyia begins chuckling at a brilliant purple kitten wearing a purple collar clasped with a pair of crossed silver swords!
Gutstorm begins chuckling at Lithyia!
Falvicar nods at Saradrin.
The grey cat pads around the room.
Lithyia grins at Gutstorm.
A sense of peace and calm resettles over the area.
The mirror images surrounding Lilanna undulate and grow stronger.
Lilanna renews her songs.
Blades slowly empties his lungs.
Yardie nods in agreement at Falvicar.
Speaking to Saradrin, you ask, "Hiding the orb, again? Who's use do you fear and to what end?"
Blades removes a crystal tumbler of rye whiskey from in his sharkskin duster.
The grey cat sits down, her tail curling to cover her front paws.
Blades sniffs at his rye whiskey.
Blades shrugs.
Blades takes a drink from his rye whiskey.
Roelon deeply says, "Yet ah still cannae see past what could be. The path remains unchanged."
Speaking to Opalina, Saradrin says, "The Orb chooses its form, but for now, it is contained."
Nalver says, "I'm sort of tired. I wouldn't mind being sacraficed with the orb and passing beyond the gate."
Your veins throb and your blood sings.
Perigourd looks thoughtfully at Saradrin.
Sammoon asks, "The orb chose to be an orb?"
Nalver says, "This world is weary and not full of enough answers."
Speaking to Talliver, Darphin says, "I am not keen on the coven getting it right now either. i wish to study it. to see what knowledge can be gained. but even the coven has valued the lives... sickingly so, but still valued the lives spent upon it more than to equiate them to "paint in a painting"."
Falvicar says, "Lord Kai himself said it's a weapon."
Falvicar nods at Sammoon.
The dully illuminated mantle protecting Yardie begins to falter, then completely fades away.
Sardine says, "It would be strange if it were a cube."
Sammoon says, "Hmm."
Sorlu says, "Then we have no fear of the Dusk Coven reaching it."
Sorlu nods once.
Gutstorm removes a bottle of River Muagh grog from in his traveller's cloak.
Raelee looks lost in thought.
Lilanna glances at Nalver.
Gutstorm takes a drink from his River Muagh grog.
Gutstorm looks rather relaxed.
Yardie stares at Sorlu.
Sorlu raises an eyebrow in Yardie's direction.
Opalina slowly empties her lungs.
Speaking to Falvicar, Saradrin says, "The Orb was born of the Lord of Battles, and it can only ever bring battle."
Nalver shrugs at Lilanna.
Falvicar ponders.
Meliyara looks thoughtfully at Saradrin.
Saradrin warningly says, "If it remains here, battle will follow."
Randsford frowns.
Falvicar nods understandingly.
Ibar frowns.
Speaking to Saradrin, Perigourd says, "Best to see it laid to rest out of all hands then."
Randsford says, "Needs to be destroyed."
Roelon shifts his weight.
Speaking to Saradrin, Meliyara asks, "Where would you send it, and battle along with it?"
Speaking to Saradrin, Yardie asks, "So...how does one get rid of it?"
Speaking to Talliver, Darphin says, "If it leaves here, be assured battle follows."
Opalina quietly says, "Not all Orbs look pretty. some are mearly lumps of clay .. waiting to find a shape."
Randsford nods in agreement at Perigourd.
Lithyia asks, "Why doesnt Kai just... take it back?"
Speaking to Saradrin, Sardine asks, "Why would the Coven want it?"
Roelon points at Lithyia.
Sammoon asks, "So if you send it out somewhere else, we'd be safer?"
Lilanna says, "It's been laid to rest till ya'll started looking for it."
Speaking to Talliver, Darphin says, "The leaders of the coven do not like outright denial."
Speaking to Darphin, Perigourd says, "Tough for them."
Perigourd chuckles.
Ibar agrees with Lilanna.
Lilanna nods at Lithyia.
Sammoon says, "They should become used to disappointment."
Speaking to Perigourd, Darphin says, "Im just saying, if battle is coming to Mule either way.. better to have a gods power on your side."
Sammoon nods.
Opalina grabs a lump of wax from inside her elesine sack.
Speaking to Talliver, Sardine says, "Boss, you are awful quiet."
Lithyia says, "But what do i know? I'm just a humble tavern owner."
A shrewd glint briefly appears in a pale-faced coppery barn owl's eyes.
Lithyia shrugs.
Speaking to Sardine, Talliver says, "Thoughtful."
Speaking to Darphin, Yardie says, "How about we don't have the battle at all, and leave the gods to do...whatever it is they do."
Ibar nods at Talliver.
Speaking to Darphin, Lilanna says, "If a battle is comin, best ye chose a side."
Talliver says, "I share misgivings about this... entity."
Opalina absent-mindedly drops a lump of wax into her elesine sack.
Sammoon glances at a melted silver-shot black runestone.
Ibar ponders.
Lilanna nods at Talliver.
Spreading his fingers wide, Tatterclaws holds his hands over the ground, and a sudden chill fills the air as shadows rise to his bidding.
Speaking to Talliver, Sardine asks, "Want me to shoot it in the eye?"
Speaking to Lilanna, Darphin says, "I stand where i have always stood."
Talliver says, "But I cannot ignore wisdom or truth. We cannot defend the Orb forever."
Sammoon asks, "Da runestone er Saradrin?"
Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Yeah, he not tell ush anythin we not already know."
Speaking to Darphin, Lilanna asks, "In the middle?"
Ibar glances at Darphin.
Falvicar whispers something to Opalina.
Saradrin ominously says, "Not forever, nor long."
Speaking to Lilanna, Darphin says, "With knowledge."
Speaking slowly to Saradrin, Yardie repeats, "So...how does one get rid of it?"
Myharl deeply says, "No need to defend it if the attackers are destroyed."
Speaking to Talliver, Saradrin says, "You have seen what lies down that path."
Speaking to Darphin, Lilanna says, "The coven doesn't seek knowledge, they seek power."
Speaking to Talliver, you say, "With all due respect mayor. The orb was quite safe and out of reach before we went digging around for it."
Perigourd glances between Talliver and Saradrin.
You breathe in deeply then exhale slowly, some pale amorphous clouds of puffy smoke floating up from your mouth.
Lithyia quietly asks, "Truly, why doesnt Kai just come and take it back?"
Lithyia gazes heavenward.
Lithyia stares off into space.
Lithyia shrugs.
Speaking to you, Lilanna says, "Sounds like something I just said."
Olgretien agrees with Lithyia.
Speaking to Saradrin, Talliver says, "They have a point."
Gutstorm drunkenly asks, "Mebbe Kai ish a lil sadishtic and wanna see dish all play out?"
Bakarus nods understandingly.
Speaking to Lilanna, Darphin says, "Aye but they find knowledge along the path. the library is immense and amazing."
Sammoon says, "Or shoot it from a cannon out to sea."
Lithyia nods at Gutstorm.
Randsford raises an eyebrow in Lithyia's direction.
Speaking to Lithyia, Randsford says, "Good idea."
Speaking to Lilanna, Yardie says, "They seek their supposed freedoms at the risk of anyone else in their way. Nothing good comes from them."
Randsford nods approvingly at Lithyia.
A cloud of bats suddenly appear and wing straight for Sammoon, disappearing into a fine mist just before impact.
Lilanna nods at Yardie.
Sammoon flinches.
Meliyara says, "Would it have remained so? We were not the only ones 'digging around' for it."
Speaking to Lithyia, Randsford asks, "We reached him before...?"
Randsford shrugs at Lithyia.
Saradrin says, "Choice. The answer is choice."
Randsford flinches.
You raise an eyebrow in Lilanna's direction.
Randsford glances at Saradrin.
Sorlu gazes with interest at Saradrin.
Lithyia quietly says, "We are but game pieces on a game board."
Sammoon asks, "Yes or no choice?"
Lithyia stares off into space.
Falvicar nods.
Saradrin says, "Choice is the engine of prophecy, and none of its branches less valid than another."
Lilanna says, "Not helpful..."
Randsford nods understandingly at Saradrin.
Sorlu begins chuckling at Lilanna!
Sammoon says, "So yes, no, or maybe."
Tatterclaws ponders.
Yardie skeptically says, "Oh not this choice again. Last time I supposedly had a choice, I had water in my lungs and nearly swallowed an eel as Caligos sank."
Lilanna nods at Sammoon.
Speaking to Saradrin, Darphin asks, "If you wish it to be safe, why can you not help protect it while the citizens of the mule decide its ultimate fate?"
Sorlu blinks at Yardie.
Saradrin resignedly says, "It is why I did not intervene sooner, but so many paths bent toward darkness and disaster."
Speaking to Lilanna, Randsford says, "Speaks volume. Choices have already be made but they can be unmade."
Randsford says, "They know who they are."
Sardine ponders.
Randsford says, "We have not yet gone beyond a point..."
Speaking to Sorlu, Yardie says, "Ghezresh."
Sorlu nods understandingly at Yardie.
Saradrin says, "But also because I am the brush, and not the hand."
Speaking to Talliver, Darphin says, "Finders, keepers and all."
Speaking to Randsford, Bakarus says, "There is still time for you, friend."
Lilanna nods at Randsford.
Randsford stares at Bakarus.
Bakarus nods at Randsford.
Speaking faintly to Saradrin, Prinn says, "A tool of Jastev, but not Jastev himself."
Speaking drunkenly to Saradrin, Gutstorm says, "Mebbe yoo look thru a dirty lense, me think deez fine folk here are shtronker den ye giffem credit fer, cept for mebbe that Bakarus and Sorlu fella."
Speaking to Bakarus, Randsford says, "You know all too well all we have in the end is time."
Roelon rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Roelon nods at Falvicar.
Randsford nods slowly at Bakarus.
A sense of peace and calm resettles over the area.
The mirror images surrounding Lilanna undulate and grow stronger.
Lilanna renews her songs.
A barrow crow rolls over and streaks towards the floor, leveling off at the last second to glide just a few feet above the ground!
Speaking to Prinn, Darphin agrees, "A tool at the very least."
Sorlu smirks at Gutstorm.
The grey cat rubs up against the hammered silver Meliyara disk.
Falvicar gazes in amusement at Darphin.
A pale-faced coppery barn owl briefly puffs up into a ball of feathers.
Ibar gazes heavenward.
You see Lord Randsford the Paladin of Oleani of Icemule Trace.
He appears to be a Giantman of the Maeramil Clan.
He appears to have come of age. He has bright crystal green eyes and fair skin. He has short, thick dark brown hair with lighter streaks. He has a clean-shaven face and broad shoulders.
He has a circular blue tribal tattoo on his neck.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a ruby-handled wolf-headed spikestar in his right hand and a white eonake knight's aegis bound by shimmering silver and imbedded with emeralds that form the symbol of the goddess Oleani in his left hand.
He is wearing an eonake banded knight's helm, a luminous gold Oleani pendant, an elegant white knight's cape, some spiked eonake gauntlets, a silver shield insignia, a blush-kissed Elanthian snow rose, a white eonake-studded pack, some pure white rolaren platemail imbedded with a symbol of Oleani, an arctic blue armband with crossed ivory tusks, a gleaming white warg pelt sheath inlaid with rune-swept auroral emeralds, a silver threaded silk satchel, a woven grapevine ankle-cuff, and some slim white boots.
A massive snowy white tiger eases to the ground and begins languidly grooming the pads of her paws.
Perigourd pets a pale-faced coppery barn owl, which nuzzles his hand softly.
A massive snowy white tiger scrambles back up onto her feet.
Perigourd tilts his head up.
Speaking to Saradrin, Raelee asks, "If each choice creates a path for each possibility, how do events not borne out of choice but say... natural patterns factor into branching possibilities?"
Speaking to Prinn, Saradrin says, "So too is the way of the Five. They are themselves and they serve their own desires."
The coppery barn owl hoots at Perigourd.
The light blue glow leaves Sardine.
The air calms down around Sardine.
The powerful look leaves Sardine.
Sorlu casually glances between Perigourd and a pale-faced coppery barn owl.
The deep blue glow leaves Sardine.
Falvicar rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Speaking to Saradrin, Sardine says, "And they can use tools too."
The very powerful look leaves Sardine.
The white light leaves Sardine.
You will speak quietly on your next message.
You quietly say, "The illusion of choice."
Sammoon says, "Blood bug."
Speaking to Prinn, Tatterclaws says, "I hope you find your answers, or at least some warmth by the fire after this is over. Forgive me, I must retire. You're in good hands."
Gutstorm begins chuckling at Sammoon!
Perigourd glances at Talliver.
Sardine just opened a heavy blue leather gem pouch.
Sardine removes a piece of cocoa-dusted chocolate from in her leather gem pouch.
Speaking to Raelee, Saradrin says, "Choices are not only for those clad in skin and bone."
Opalina quietly says, "Well I found this sitting next to the trinkets in Thurfel's treasure room."
Speaking to you, Randsford says, "Believing that in itself is a choice that becomes prophecy."
Randsford grins at you.
Opalina grabs a lump of wax from inside her elesine sack.
Prinn nods at Tatterclaws.
Sardine takes a bite of her cocoa-dusted chocolate.
Tatterclaws seems to lose an aura of confidence.
Opalina quietly says, "It doesn't look like much."
Speaking to Tatterclaws, Prinn says, "Thank you."
Tatterclaws is no longer moving so silently.
Tatterclaws seems to lose some dexterity.
Opalina offers Saradrin a lump of wax.
The green-gold web of protection surrounding a barrow crow falls away, unraveling as it fades.
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Tatterclaws falls away, unraveling as it fades.
Tatterclaws smiles at Prinn.
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Perigourd falls away, unraveling as it fades.
Tatterclaws loses a thorny barrier.
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Elronae falls away, unraveling as it fades.
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Lithyia falls away, unraveling as it fades.
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Wolfloner falls away, unraveling as it fades.
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Sorlu falls away, unraveling as it fades.
The green-gold web of protection against nature falls away from you, unraveling as it fades.
Speaking to Talliver, Darphin says, "The 5 serve their own will, this "tool" of jastev serves someone elses will... i think you should consider the will of the citizens. so far they are the ones who have the orb and everyone telling them what to do with it."
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Sammoon falls away, unraveling as it fades.
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Aliashyrah falls away, unraveling as it fades.
Your veins throb and your blood sings.
Opalina quietly says, "Perhaps it can help you find what your looking for."
Tatterclaws just left.
With a sudden flash of insight, you realize you now understand more of what you have experienced.....
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Blades falls away, unraveling as it fades.
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Gutstorm falls away, unraveling as it fades.
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Bakarus falls away, unraveling as it fades.
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Meliyara falls away, unraveling as it fades.
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Lilanna falls away, unraveling as it fades.
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Olgretien falls away, unraveling as it fades.
Perigourd appears less confident.
Sammoon says, "Hmm."
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Darphin falls away, unraveling as it fades.
The green-gold web of protection surrounding Randsford falls away, unraveling as it fades.
Speaking to Darphin, Yardie asks, "The 5....that's the Coven leaders, yeah?"
Sorlu nods at Yardie.
Darphin nods at Yardie.
Falvicar nods slowly at Yardie.
Falvicar unfastens the front of his silk-lined cloak and pushes the hood off his head, revealing himself.
Lilanna asks, "Supposed tool of jastev... was there not another "bad" entity we were warned of ?"
Talliver glances at Darphin.
Blades takes a drink from his rye whiskey.
Sammoon asks, "Isn't called da dark coven?"
The grey cat stands up, her tail bobbing in the air behind it briefly.
Sorlu nods at Sammoon.
Sammoon says, "And we have establised that dark is bad."
Randsford nods slowly at Lilanna.
Sorlu says, "Dusk Coven."
Sammoon says, "Oh."
Sammoon says, "Dusk."
Ibar grins at Sammoon.
Speaking to Sammoon, Yardie says, "All bad all the same."
Nalver whispers to the group, "I need to go. Late here and need to work in the AM."
Nalver waves.
Speaking to Sammoon, Darphin says, "Not dark, just dusk, pre-bad."
Lithyia nods at Nalver.
Nalver just went west.
Saradrin says, "I will not take from your choices, but I have made mine own."
Roelon rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Falvicar nods once at Sardine.
Sammoon nods at Saradrin.
Falvicar babbles something unintelligible.
Lithyia says, "How.... helpful."
Falvicar nods once at Saradrin.
Lithyia glances at Saradrin.
Sammoon grins at Falvicar.
Randsford nods slowly at Saradrin.
Speaking to Sammoon, Wolfloner says, "There is no Light without Darkness."
Sorlu gazes with interest at Saradrin.

Your mind can't take much more of this! You must rest!
Saradrin says, "Should you surrender the Orb to me, I shall see it placed beyond the reach of your foes for the rest of time."
Sammoon says, "Sounds like a plan."
Myharl glances at Saradrin.
Sammoon nods.
Perigourd looks thoughtfully at Saradrin.
You will speak sagely on your next message.
Roelon slowly empties his lungs.
Sammoon says, "Lessin yer gonna use it on us."
Speaking to Saradrin, Meliyara says, "But you have not said where you will send it, and the inevitable battle that follows it."
Speaking to Talliver, Randsford says, "So we are back to where all this started then, when Ellusine first confronted us about the Coven. The choice from then still remains, you have to take a stand one way or another."
You sagely say, "I would caution giving an artifact of power away so freely to a stranger such as him."
Sorlu says, "Quite a decision to make."
Falvicar nods slowly at Roelon.
Randsford stares at Talliver.
Sardine says, "Id rather give it an arrow."
Bakarus looks thoughtfully at Saradrin.
Speaking deeply to Talliver, Myharl says, "It's time to make a choice."
Speaking to Meliyara, Perigourd says, "It's feasible that it may end up like the griffon sword, and simply removed from existence."
Saradrin says, "And should you choose to hold it and endure the bloodshed that will come, I will still stand against your foes and mine, in my own way."
Ibar nods at Myharl.
A golden-eyed jet black osprey soars low, nearly brushing the top of your head.
Speaking to Myharl, Talliver says, "I agree."
Sardine says, "Bossman would not even consider giving up our leverage for such a risk."
Sammoon says, "Hmm."
Sardine places her arms akimbo and looks about as if waiting for something.
Ibar grips his sylvan longbow a little tighter.
Lithyia glances at Talliver.
Myharl nods once.
Lilanna nods at Myharl.
Wolfloner turns an inquisitive ear toward Talliver.
Speaking to Lithyia, Yardie asks, "Still eager to help me write that list?"
Speaking to Saradrin, Prinn asks, "And me?"
Speaking to Perigourd, Meliyara says, "This is speculation."
Sorlu glances appraisingly at Myharl.
Speaking to Meliyara, Perigourd says, "Based on previous experience, yes."
Roelon nods slowly.
Speaking to Prinn, Saradrin says, "You are free, but your path does not end here."
Speaking to Saradrin, Randsford says, "And I hope you will free the Mayor and anyone else you had under your influence."
Randsford squints at Saradrin.
Speaking to Perigourd, Meliyara says, "It is a dangerous assumption to make."
Speaking to Perigourd, Yardie says, "Could try to burn it away like we did with the book."
Speaking to Meliyara, Perigourd says, "No more dangerous than any other."
Perigourd chuckles.
Perigourd says, "One must consider possibilities."
Saradrin regards Randsford blankly.
Sardine gives Talliver a little prod between the shoulder blades.
Opalina absent-mindedly drops a lump of wax into her elesine sack.
Speaking to Prinn, Darphin says, "The dog on a leash only enjoys the illusion of freedom.."
Speaking to Perigourd, Meliyara agrees, "Assumptions are dangerous. This is why I would prefer to hear it from him."
Speaking to Saradrin, Randsford says, "You remove their choice if you remain otherwise."
The powerful look leaves Perigourd.
Perigourd begins to breathe less deeply.
The dully illuminated mantle protecting Perigourd begins to falter, then completely fades away.
Lilanna glances at Randsford.
A sense of peace and calm resettles over the area.
The mirror images surrounding Lilanna undulate and grow stronger.
Lilanna renews her songs.
Talliver says, "The Orb is not here, and we must decide its course."
Speaking to Meliyara, Perigourd says, "Without knowing all, much is assumption. It's assumption to think mana will always spring forth."
Perigourd leans on his sword.
Falvicar nods at Talliver.
Speaking to Lilanna, Randsford says, "We will rise or fall on our own, has to be the way."
Randsford nods reassuringly at Lilanna.
Speaking to Saradrin, Talliver asks, "If we have need of you, where can we find you?"
Falvicar tilts his head toward Saradrin, examining him intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.
Sorlu glances between Talliver and Saradrin.
Ibar slowly empties his lungs.
Saradrin says, "I watch. I wait. I hope."
Lilanna nods.
Falvicar nods.
Speaking to Saradrin, Wolfloner asks, "You are a priest of Jastev?"
Gutstorm drunkenly says, "It shound like yoo waitin to choose a shide."
Saradrin nods solemnly, though there is a hint of sadness and concern in his strange eyes.
Speaking to Prinn, Darphin says, "See, your path continues... good girl."
Gutstorm summons a torrent of spiritual and elemental mana and releases upon himself a flurry of abjurations.
Sorlu appears to be trying hard not to grin.
Yardie says, "Well then....I guess until we figure out what happens with the orb....we fight."
Specks of luminous color streak through the air to gather around Saradrin, each as bright as painter's pigments spilled on a fresh canvas. They swirl around him, blurring together in a splendid rainbow of hues, until Saradrin's form is but a shadow amid the shimmer. Rainbowed motes streak away from the storm of color, revealing only empty air where Saradrin once stood.
Sorlu whispers something to Aliashyrah.
Sorlu chuckles to himself.
Perigourd casually observes his surroundings.
Aliashyrah gazes in amusement at Sorlu.
Sammoon says, "Wellp."
Speaking to himself, Perigourd says, "Hmm.."
Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Well he aint dat shneaky, we shaw him leaf."
Meliyara furrows her brow.
Talliver slowly empties his lungs.
Sammoon glances at a melted silver-shot black runestone.
Falvicar ponders.
You inhale deeply upon your pipe, puckering your lips as you send out a small stream of smoke before you.
Ibar grins at Gutstorm.
Perigourd glances appraisingly at Talliver.
Speaking to Talliver, Yardie asks, "So...what's your play, Mayor Taliver?"
Speaking to Talliver, Darphin says, "I dont envy you."
Gutstorm takes a drink from his River Muagh grog.
Perigourd nods in agreement.
Darphin says, "You are in a tough spot and no easy way out."
Elronae begins to breathe less deeply.
The dim aura fades from around Elronae.
The dully illuminated mantle protecting Elronae begins to falter, then completely fades away.
Sardine takes a bite of her cocoa-dusted chocolate.
Speaking to Yardie, Talliver says, "I think myself decent at reading people."
Speaking to Talliver, Yardie says, "Easier to read than books, to be honest."
Lilanna nods at Talliver.
Sammoon asks, "So whatcha think of our visitation?"
Talliver says, "But I can't say what that one wants, or if his goals are our goals."
Opalina quietly says, "At least rainbows are pretty."
Lilanna agrees with Talliver.
Sorlu nods slowly at Talliver.
Wolfloner nods at Talliver.
Speaking to Talliver, Darphin says, "His goals aren't even his goals, hes just the tool."
Roelon slowly empties his lungs.
Falvicar shrugs at Opalina.
Speaking drunkenly to Talliver, Gutstorm says, "His goalsh ar ehis goals, if dey align wit ush idda notter matter."
Prinn carefully says, "I know my word might be questionable after being so long under the sway of that... being."
You say, "I have met many a diviner on the road who claimed to hold the secrets to my future behind just a few coins. I trust this man's word just the same."
Perigourd turns an inquisitive ear toward Prinn.
Roelon rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Myharl turns an inquisitive ear toward Prinn.
Lilanna turns to face Prinn.
Lilanna asks, "But?"
Ibar turns an inquisitive ear toward Prinn.
Ibar smiles.
Prinn says, "But I never had the feeling that he meant me harm."
Speaking to Prinn, Yardie asks, "Why?"
Prinn says, "Only that harm was a necessary part of what was happening."
Sammoon says, "Like beatin a goat to the direction ya want."
Perigourd nods thoughtfully.
Speaking to Prinn, Darphin says, "Ofcourse you didnt, he didnt consider you any more than yardie considers the insects at his feet as he walks."
Meliyara glances skeptically at Prinn.
Sardine slings a steel-nocked sephwir short bow over her shoulder.
Gutstorm stamps his feet.
Sorlu says, "Few that mean true wickedness appear in a rainbow."
Sorlu chuckles to himself.
Speaking to Prinn, Darphin says, "You cant mean harm to someone if you dont consider it."
Speaking plainly to Darphin, Yardie says, "I'm quite careful where I step, thank you kindly."
Perigourd begins chuckling at Sorlu!
Lilanna says, "You can come to Fight Night, and I won't hit you, but you will get punched in the face.."
Lilanna nods.
Speaking to Sorlu, Perigourd says, "Missoni, maybe."
Perigourd leans on his sword.
Ibar begins chuckling at Lilanna!
Ibar winces.
Sorlu flashes a quick grin at Perigourd.
Speaking to Darphin, Prinn says, "If I wanted your opinion, Darphin, I would have asked for it. These others may tolerate your dance atop the fence between good and evil, but I think you're due for splinters in unpleasant places."
Randsford chuckles.
Randsford applauds Prinn.
Lilanna begins chortling at Prinn.
Prinn clenches her fists and then visibly calms herself.
Roelon cringes.
Speaking to Prinn, Yardie says, "I think he likes the pain, honestly."
Speaking quietly to Sorlu, Opalina says, "I think wickedness can appear in any form."
Falvicar chortles softly at some secret joke.
Prinn slowly exhales, and the air surrounding her smells of sweet and salty caramel offset by the bitterness of smokey absinthe.
Sorlu glances between Prinn and Darphin.
Sorlu hums a seemingly random tune.
Speaking drunkenly to Prinn, Gutstorm says, "Atta girl."
Sardine says, "Whoa not going to lie, the chocolate was amazing."
Talliver suppresses a chuckle.
Yardie put a wickedly sharp argent vultite katar traced with mithglin in his ebon leather thigh-sheath.
Speaking to Darphin, Randsford says, "You too have choices to make."
Yardie slings a zelnorn buckler over his shoulder.
Myharl nods understandingly.
Randsford nods slowly at Darphin.
Speaking to Prinn, Darphin says, "Sorry i couldnt do something useful like be a pawn."
Randsford says, "We all do."
You cough.
Randsford looks over at Darphin and shakes his head.
Myharl glances at Darphin.
Myharl laughs!
Speaking flatly to Darphin, Prinn says, "Well, keep trying. I'm sure someone will move you on the board eventually."
Speaking to Darphin, Randsford says, "When they Arkati come lets see how well you resist. We are all pawns to them."
Yardie says, "I've made my choice. I'll fight, and I'll gladly post up the list of suspicious people and those who outed themselves as Coven and have that in plain sight at Town Center."
Speaking to Darphin, Sardine says, "You can take up painting."
Gutstorm takes a drink from his River Muagh grog.
Speaking to Talliver, Wolfloner says, "Saradrin attire is not one I would expect as an agent of Jastev."
Prinn sharply says, "As I was saying."
Sorlu smiles at Prinn.
Sammoon says, "True."
Sorlu nods encouragingly.
Speaking to Talliver, Wolfloner says, "Quite the opposite."
A sense of peace and calm resettles over the area.
The mirror images surrounding Lilanna undulate and grow stronger.
Lilanna renews her songs.
A golden-eyed jet black osprey swerves abruptly, trying to maneuver within the confines of the enclosed space.
Speaking to Wolfloner, Sardine says, "Yeah the serpent sking shoes were odd."
Prinn says, "That one... I do not think he means us harm, but neither will his efforts spare us any if he feels harm is required."
Talliver says, "I concur."
Lilanna says, "Like the Coven... we're not, but we will if we need to."
Olgretien just went west.
Talliver asks, "If we keep the Orb, then to what end?"
Speaking to Lilanna, Yardie says, "This news is going to give them a way to excuse their violence. I hope we're ready for it."
Speaking to Talliver, Perigourd says, "To destroy it or use it would be the only other options."
Sorlu nods at Perigourd.
Speaking to Yardie, Lilanna says, "Well I'm sure they already know we have it. so it's coming either way."
Speaking to Perigourd, Talliver says, "Destroy, then."
Speaking to Perigourd, Yardie says, "I'm fine with destroying it. That power is not meant for us to have."
Speaking to Talliver, Darphin says, "Great items of power have been destroyed before, and can be again."
Sorlu says, "Destroying it, however, seems quite wasteful."
Ibar agrees with Lilanna.
Falvicar says, "For what it's worth I'm a bit torn on the choice. Lessons I've learned from the past, if it matters, would tell me to agree with Mayor Dabbing in the assessment that we can't hide it forever. For example, the Red Dreamer Indhis and the shroud artifact of Ronan that the Dream Walkers were tasked with guarding.. only for it to be stolen by Indhis for his own selfish reasons. I honestly only want the Coven to not get the Orb."
Speaking to Perigourd, Randsford says, "I vote her idea."
Randsford points at Lithyia.
Speaking to Perigourd, Randsford says, "Does neither."
Lilanna glances at Sorlu.
Talliver says, "I will not see it used, not for good or for ill. The temptation with that sort of power is always too great for reason to temper it."
Sammoon says, "'drop it in da ocean."
Sorlu asks, "Would we throw away so quickly a weapon that can be turned against our enemy?"
Yardie points at Talliver.
Wolfloner nods at Talliver.
Yardie exclaims, "Finally! Someone gets it!"
Talliver nods at Falvicar.
Falvicar nods at Talliver.
Lilanna shakes her head at Sorlu and clucks her tongue.
Sorlu frowns at Talliver.
Sardine whispers to the group, "No one better say we need to throw it in the cracks of mount throom."
The coppery barn owl hops around the room.
Speaking to Perigourd, Yardie says, "See? Your wife was wrong with her assertion."
Deep blue motes swirl away from Wolfloner and fade.
Speaking deeply to Talliver, Myharl asks, "So we need to discover how to destroy it. Ideas?"
Raelee looks thoughtfully at Talliver.
Sardine seems to be waiting for something.
Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Me can open a void and we can drop it in, datll solve da prollem."
Talliver says, "I would have the Council assemble the town this week to hear arguments for and against surrendering the orb to this agent of Jastev. I am not a despot."
Speaking to Myharl, Darphin says, "That is knowledge that will only be found with research... perhaps our futur school leader."
(OOC) Lilanna's player whispers to the group, "No no, the volcano on Glaoveln, the name of which I can't remember..."
Sammoon nods.
Ibar gazes heavenward.
Speaking to Yardie, Perigourd says, "I'm well aware that some knowledge isn't worth attainment."
Sorlu nods at Talliver.
Perigourd nods at Yardie.
Speaking to Talliver, Sorlu says, "As you wish, Mayor Dabbings."
Speaking to Myharl, Falvicar says, "One must wonder if the only way to destroy it is it be used if not reclaimed by Lord Kai himself."
Raelee gives a sidelong glance at Perigourd.
Speaking to Perigourd, Yardie exclaims, "True, but she disagrees. I dealt with her glaring at me for months. Months!"
Talliver says, "But personally, I will see the Orb taken off of the field, no matter the particulars."
The light blue glow leaves Sammoon.
Myharl nods.
Myharl agrees with Falvicar.
Sammoon raises an eyebrow.
Sammoon gazes in wonder at his surroundings.
Sorlu clenches his jaw.
Randsford nods in agreement at Talliver.
Sorlu nods slightly.
Speaking to Perigourd, Yardie whispers aloud, "Madame Missoni has evil eyes."
Darphin becomes unbalanced for a second, then recovers.
Darphin appears to lose some internal strength.
The tingling sensation and sense of security leaves Darphin.
Darphin glances around, looking a bit less confident.
The very powerful look leaves Darphin.
The white light leaves Darphin.
The dull golden nimbus fades from around Darphin.
The misty halo fades from Darphin.
The powerful look leaves Darphin.
The air calms down around Darphin.
Perigourd begins chuckling at Yardie!
Speaking to Talliver, Raelee observes, "... you remind me of the Gosaenans in the war for the sword."
Sardine says, "We can have Svardin smash it with a maul."
Prinn frowns.
Speaking to Yardie, Perigourd says, "Maybe you're misconstruing the loveliness within the deep viridian hue."
Perigourd nods slowly at Yardie.
Ibar says, "He might just use it to play with Rufus."
Speaking to Raelee, Talliver says, "They were successful, in the end."
Speaking to Perigourd, Yardie says, "She don't love me like that."
Sammoon says, "Drop it in da sea, surely it don't float."
Ibar nods at Sardine.
Speaking to Talliver, Raelee agrees, "They were."
Speaking to Sammoon, Darphin says, "Charl would love that."
Ibar grins slowly at Darphin.
Talliver says, "The world has been deprived of the good the Sword once embodied..."
Falvicar ponders.
Roelon nods at Talliver.
Falvicar nods in agreement at Talliver.
Talliver says, "...but free, too, from the evil it could have done."
Speaking to Talliver, Perigourd says, "Did, for the time it was corrupted."
Speaking to Talliver, Darphin says, "Lets hope we can achieve the same with a little less distruction around town."
Sardine says, "Can always put it in my locker nothing can ever be found there."
Prinn says, "If you'll pardon me, I would like to explore the ruins. I feel the need to be alone with my thoughts."
Prinn nods.
Sweeping his arm outward, Sammoon bows low in a grand fashion before Prinn.
Myharl bows to Prinn.
Bakarus glances at Prinn.
Speaking to Prinn, Perigourd says, "Do take care, there are many drops and the tunnels are dark."
Lilanna nods.
Randsford nods slowly at Prinn.
Lilanna nods at Prinn.
Speaking to Prinn, Darphin says, "Im sure that will be a lovely experience for you after so long."
Speaking to Prinn, Randsford says, "May your dreams now be pleasent."
Speaking to Prinn, Talliver says, "Should you need an escort back to town, please send one of the giants with a message. I'll ensure you have an escort."
Falvicar nods at Prinn.
Gutstorm takes a drink from his River Muagh grog.
Gutstorm looks rather relaxed.
Prinn curtsies to Randsford.
Fastidiously preening, a pale-faced coppery barn owl shakes a few crumbs out of his feathers.
Randsford bows to Prinn.
Speaking to Talliver, Prinn says, "Thank you."
Prinn just went west.
Yardie asks, "How does that work? Do the giants throw us back to town?"
Wolfloner nods at Myharl.
Lithyia just left.
Lilanna begins chuckling at Yardie!
Sardine exclaims, "THat would be awesome!"
A sense of peace and calm resettles over the area.

Lilanna asks, "Speaking of town?"
Talliver nods at Lilanna.
Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Me aint walkin back."
Lilanna asks, "All ready?"
Gutstorm grunts and shakes his head.
Ibar nods at Lilanna.
Roelon nods.
Opalina mutters slideline.
Talliver says, "Yes, we should return. I mislike the look of those bats earlier this evening."
Lilanna changes her tune, adding a new element to her song...
Lilanna skillfully begins to weave another verse into her harmony.
Lilanna sings a song of revelry, bringing to life the memories of such wonderous merrymaking that you feel as though you never left so long ago. Visions of the drink and the dance fill your mind. Your vision blurs, your surroundings shift and you suddenly realize you are not quite where you were before!
[Honeybeer Inn, Tap Room - 3449]
The lower walls are tinted plaster over stone, as evidenced by the chips at the exact level of the chair backs. The bar itself is worn, and the low brass footrest is polished only by the shoes of the many customers who have cradled a pint while leaning against the bar. You also see a polished oak menu and a halfling bartender.

The walls and ceiling are paneled in dark cherry wood, which makes the room seem smaller than it really is. Low-backed chairs upholstered with red leather seats are arranged beside a glowing brazier. The sounds of clinking mugs and low voices provide the comforting sense that refreshments are near. You also see a broad wooden staircase.

[Tavern Burrow, Honeybeer Road - 2395]
The Honeybeer Inn is a homey, cheerful place with low, broad eaves and two round dormer windows overlooking the street. The windows are shuttered against the night's chill, but candlelight winks through the slats. Smoke curls upward from the stone chimney to join the darkness of night. The sounds of muffled merriment escape the door every time it opens. A standing hoarbeam-framed slate stands out front to welcome customers.

A two-toned stone wall still radiates the heat that it absorbed during the day. An old couple leans against the warm stone as they rest from their travels. Cold winds gust over the cobblestone road, inspiring the occasional traveler to hurry along to the nearest pub or inn. A few glance over their shoulders as they skulk toward the entrance to Bootlegger's Alley.

[Tavern Burrow, Porter Street - 2398]
Porter Street angles sharply towards the northeast as if veering toward the Silvermule Gaming Hall. Crowds push past on their way to gamble, krolvin and half-krolvin, giantkin and halflings alike united by the allure of easily attained riches. Only a few seem to pay any mind to a small snow-covered shop on the corner. The southern wall of Icemule Trace is just visible down a short lane heading south.

As the light of Lornon filters into Gutstorm's indigo cage, the tiny puppy inside starts to squirm and writhe. The indigo cage starts to rattle as the puppy's whines turn to howls.
The violent rattling of Gutstorm's indigo cage settles down as the transformation finishes. The sound of crackling fire and a faint green-cored void black light emanates from his cage.
Sammoon says, "Nice shot."
A timber jaguar saunters in.
Speaking to Lilanna, Randsford says, "Bards and your bars."
A pale-faced coppery barn owl flies in.

A bright blue carpet fringed with silver tassels leads up to the entrance of a gaming hall, proceeding between two yew trees that have been trimmed into the shapes of mules and sprinkled with silvery powder. A stout halfling in silver and blue livery bows low as would-be gamblers pass through the doors, an inviting smile on his lips. An occasional shout of excitement erupts from within the hall as someone wins another hand. You also see a Silvermule doorkeeper.

The rear entrance to the gaming hall is nearly as resplendent as its main one. Espaliered wintercrisp apple trees grow to either side of the massive dark modwir doors. Bright green apples weigh down their branches, but not a single fruit has been suffered to splatter the cobblestones below. A smiling attendant in silver and blue waves at passerby. You also see the grim halfling marshal.

A jumble of boxes is piled at the base of a tall evergreen hedge where Stout Street meets Barley Lane. Soft mewing from one of the boxes is almost obscured by the muffled drumbeats, soft arpeggios, and muted voices lifted in song at nearby taverns. A gap in the hedge leads through a split-rail fence into the courtyard beyond. The fence and hedge end at the corner of the property, where an easily overlooked side door serves as a side entrance to a nondescript building. You also see a drunken halfling drifter.

The silvery sheen of a statue to the north glints merrily over the heads of most passersby. Halflings and sylvankind in the deep blue elk hide livery of the Silvermule Gaming Hall rush past, messenger bags thumping against their sides as they race off to deliver letters and missives. Most of the houses and businesses to either side of the street are built from grey stone, but their doors are brightly painted with a hodgepodge of colors. An incongruous stone doorframe stands off to the side of the street.

A tranquil square dusted with snow sprawls beneath a sturdy mule statue standing placidly atop a tall plinth of silver-veined black stone. The brilliance of the stars refracts through the statue, casting prismatic glints over the townsfolk nearby. Some denizens, mostly halflings but with a scattering of other folk mixed in, chatter by a roaring bonfire, lazing on a smooth dark stone bench or stargazing on colorful cloaks spread out on the ground. Others mill around a burled pine message board standing close to a colorful silver-bound barrel.
