Aqsalith is an underwater metal closely tied to the Acqsael and the Isle of the Four Winds. It is a rare alloy forged by the acqsael within a deep cavern in their water realm. In these forges, they use pressure and the mineral-rich sea waters that flow through the cavern, as well as arcane means to manipulate the ore into a malleable metal. The result of this process is an alloy remarkable for an internal current that flows just under the surface, giving the impression that it carries the living beat of the ocean.

This metal has a rich blue-silver hue, much like that of pale light on smooth steel. Under its luminous exterior, the slight movement of watery shadows flows continuously, creating the appearance of water trapped within. Aqsalith has a brilliant sheen when exposed to light. A pale inner luminescence persists, growing more pronounced in the dark where it pulses softly with a rhythmic accent.

Mechanical Form

Flares

Aqsalith has an inherent ability to naturally produce water flares. When the wielder is hit by heat, the flares turn to steam. When they are hit by cold, the flares change to ice. This lasts for 15 minutes or until the wielder receives damage of the opposite type (e.g. While flaring steam, damage caused by cold will revert the flares to water and another hit by cold will change it to ice).

Weapons and shields have a chance to leave puddles on the ground when striking enemies. When lightning base source of damage is used by the wielder, it will trigger a player friendly flare against targets in the room similar to wet rooms in Nelemar and Sailor's Grief.

Armor

In addition to the flares, armor has a special ability.

Surge of the Depths: There is a standard flare chance when struck that the armor will add 10 CER crit padding for that attack.

Ornamental Form

One use of aqsalith is purely ornamental and can be fashioned into jewelry, ceremonial adornment, and decorative craftsmanship. The alloy possesses no other special abilities besides the sinuous flow beneath the surface.

The metal keeps its rich blue-silver hue and mirrored sheen. Under the surface, the slight movement of watery shadows flows continuously. This movement follows the curve of each piece, without disturbing the surface.
