The handaxe is a One-handed edged weapon which consists of a single-bladed head and a short haft, or handle. The haft is often gently curved to facilitate swinging the weapon in a single direction, however, handaxes are also often tools that, while one side is a blade, the other side is used as a hammer. Since handaxes inflict only slash and crush critical injuries, they are often the OHE user's weapon of choice when engaging targets that are resistant to puncture critical injuries.
