Though they often go together, nodes and sancted rooms can be different things.
Sancting a room with an effect like 1011 Song of Peace or 213 Minor Sanctuary effectively turns it into a node for the purposes of exp absorption, but not for mana gained per pulse.
A couple of neat uses I've found for this include:
-Sancting the forging workshop to forge with a full mind. (Interestingly enough, though, cobbling workshops are already sancted...)
-Sancting on ferries and mine carts to travel with a full mind. (Fun picture, by the way: a cleric or empath meditating as the Zul mine cart rolls along the tracks...)
-Sancting in a pawnshop or gemshop to sell loot with a full mind.
What if you're not a bard, cleric, or empath? Well, highly trained cleric and empath alchemists can make milky blue oil, which allows anyone to create a sanctuary in a room. The ingredients are a bit costly, but it's still a way to get more exp per pulse in some niche situations! Clerics can also imbed 213 into orb gems.
