The javelin is a lightweight throwing weapon that resembles a pike, however it tends to be a bit shorter. It is wielded one-handed and has damage potential equal to that of the spear when used as a melee weapon. Since many attacks result in puncture critical damage it is a less effective weapon choice when engaging puncture resistant targets.

Game Mechanics
