This is from the Winter 1997 edition of the Elanthian Times in the Ancient Annals section. Those are generally embellishments, or extrapolations/interpretations, often heavily made up by players. I do not believe there is reason to think this history was official, and various reasons to think it was not. The website copy even has an addendum at the bottom correcting a factual error in it, about the reivers having "refrained from raiding the Landing so far", which at that time had already not been true for months.
