Gathering Onto the Galleon

A railed walkway leads towards a shimmering portal. The sound of seagulls squawking complements the soothing, rhythmic lapping of water. A vague salty scent wafts from a shimmering portal, which is flanked by two large coils of rope.

A representative from the Galleon wedding area peruses a list of names on a clipboard and says, "Welcome, Leafiara." She takes the invitation from your hand and gently pins it to one of your clothing articles, tucking and turning it in such a way that it becomes nearly invisible except to you. "These are extremely delicate pins and won't leave any lingering marks on either your clothing or the invitation, but this ensures that you won't lose it." She smiles and continues, "We hope you enjoy your visit."

Clear, blue-green water gently laps at the thick pilings supporting the dock, stirred by a warm, salt-tinged breeze and glistens in the clear moonlight. Evenly spaced timbers span the pilings, only slightly faded from their exposure to the elements. Large coils of rope lay on either side of a wide gangplank, which leads onto the deck of a triple-masted galleon. You also see a gift table covered with a wedding bell-motif silver and gold cloth and a glowing exit portal.

Sheltered from the deck, the small cabin is spacious enough to be cozy and covered with heavy drapes to ensure privacy. Gently rocking, the ship sways slightly on the tide amid the sound of crying gulls and the briny scent of the sea. Positioned near the exit, a full length mirror offers visitors a chance to view themselves, while a nearby chest provides storage space and a high-backed wooden chair supplies a place to rest.

A slender wooden bench sits against the starboard railing, several coils of rope neatly stowed beneath it. The deck is slightly faded and salt-stained, yet well maintained, and massive sails snap crisply overhead in the salty breeze as the galleon rocks gently on the ocean waves. A stout multi-paneled door leads below the quarterdeck, and a short flight of stairs leads up onto the forecastle deck. Carefully secured to the port railing is a wide gangplank leading back to the dock. You also see the Emperia disk.

A short flight of stairs leads back to the main deck.

Ivory tapers burn brightly in silver sconces mounted onto honey oak paneled walls, and several windows along the back wall provide a breathtaking view of moonlit, white-capped blue-green water. A trio of rosewood tables sit next to a polished oak cake stand near a stout multi-paneled door, and a row of linen-topped tables with chairs line one wall. Along the opposite wall, a small group of musicians sit on barrels, while the center of the room has been left open, creating a dance floor. You also see a carved wooden bowl.
Speaking to Leafiara, Saraphenia asks, "See our cake??"

Saraphenia points at a three-tiered wedding cake frosted with whipped cream and candied violets on a polished oak cake stand.

With both hands raised in the air, an attendant enters and announces, "If everyone could please settle down, the ceremony is about to begin." You notice Astpree follow behind and pause just outside the ceremony area, his head lowered while visibly deep in thought as the attendant quietly retreats.
[Galleon, Forecastle Deck]
Whitecaps crest the moonlit blue-green water beyond the bowsprit, and a brisk salt-tinged breeze blows over the deck. A row of low-backed wooden chairs forms a semicircle facing an archway of flowers near the bowsprit, and high overhead, crisp canvas sails snap in the wind. A short flight of stairs leads back to the main deck. You also see Astpree, the malachite Severine disk, the vermeil Julenne disk draped with silver strands of tidal pearls and the Emperia disk.

Speaking to Eralice, Leafiara asks, "Yes?"

Mauss sighs with relief.
Evii removes a luminous scroll from in her silk hip-purse.
Evii raises her luminous scroll and gestures.
Sparks begin to fly between the luminous scroll and Evii's fingers.
With a sudden burst of enthusiasm, the sparks jump into Evii's hand and she seems to glow with power.
Evii gestures.
Evii's eyes gleam with a newfound understanding.
Evii put a luminous scroll in her silk hip-purse.
Leafiara chuckles.
Vendayan leans against Severine, bending his head to rest it gently against hers.
Chamorr heartily says, "I kin do sign."
Julenne grins at Chamorr.
Leafiara says, "And just for the record, I do understand Aelotian."
Speaking softly to Leafiara, Eralice says, "Squire Taulramil wished me to pass on his sincerest well wishes."
Julenne softly says, "No flickin people off."
Speaking quietly to herself, Evii intones, "I do now."
Leafiara grins at Eralice.
Falvicar looks at Evii and hums.
Julenne smiles at Leafiara.

Eralice taps a blossom-set glowbark reliquary, which is in her right hand.
Leafiara says, "Okay..."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Eralice says, "This is from him."

Falvicar makes a small fold in the top right corner of his invitation.
Speaking to Saraphenia, Leafiara asks, "We were going to do our own thing after he's done, right?"
Leafiara asks, "Instead of before?"
Saraphenia says, "We're going to do our vows after the officiant."
Etanah grins impishly at Leafiara.
Leafiara nods.
Leafiara says, "Alrighty... then let's get started with the official part before we get to the good stuff."

Leafiara clasps Saraphenia's hand tenderly.
Mauss makes a small fold in the top right corner of his invitation.

Leafiara folds her hands.
Astpree takes a few steps forward before saying, "Greetings!" Smiling brightly, the cleric lowers his arms and pats a stray tress of his hair that was dislodged during his initial greeting back into place. He takes a moment more to properly compose his appearance and then takes a deep, steady breath before calmly speaking.
Saraphenia bites her lip.
"We have gathered here in Cholen's presence to witness the joining of Leafiara and Saraphenia. A marriage is a wonderful thing; a grand journey of such sweet promise. You have found someone who will be by your side through the turning of all the seasons, and a companion to make you feel loved and cherished as the years linger on."
Julenne beams!
Astpree folds his hands neatly over his slim waist and continues, "You have found the person whom you can rely on when you need it the most. Such pure love can only be expressed through our hearts in song, and it brings to mind a piece I once heard that I would like to perform for you now."
Etanah's eyes well with tears as her lower lip quivers.
Etanah sniffs.
Astpree transitions into his song, singing in a surprisingly sweet and clear tenor:
"My love, you are surely the best of me,
In you, all my dreams abide.
My dear, I give you the rest of me,
I am whole with you by my side.

Now I cannot go without you,
As sure as the stars above."
Julenne places a hand over her heart.

The ruffled cleric discreetly wipes a tear from his eye and sighs dramatically. His eyes sparkle with motes of light as he looks at you and Saraphenia.

Etanah's eyes well with tears as her lower lip quivers.
Etanah takes a deep breath.
Julenne slowly empties her lungs.

Turning to face you, Astpree asks, "Do you, Leafiara, take Saraphenia to be your loving companion, to find the brightness in dark days, to contribute to her happiness, and to always strive to bring playfulness to your marriage?"
Chamorr smiles.

Astpree acknowledges Leafiara's response.
Astpree turns to face Saraphenia, repeating the question, "Do you, Saraphenia, take Leafiara to be your loving companion, to find the brightness in dark days, to contribute to her happiness, and to always strive to bring playfulness to your marriage?"
Monza's firewheel flower stretches its petals outward for a moment, sighing softly in contentment.
Speaking in Aelotian, Saraphenia excitedly exclaims, "Absolutely I do!"
Leafiara laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.
Julenne smiles as tears slowly slide down her face.
Vendayan chuckles.
Astpree acknowledges Saraphenia's response.
Astpree takes Leafiara's hands and joins them with Saraphenia's, before saying, "In Cholen's name, and all the honor of the sanctuary, I pronounce you both wed! Find joy in one another and never take each other for granted. You are exceedingly blessed to have found true love." Astpree holds their conjoined hands together, before taking a few steps back. "Congratulations to you both." With these final words, he turns and leaves.
A jubilant chorus of bells rings mellifluously throughout the area.
Leafiara grins from ear to ear.
Severine beams, a happy tear sliding down her cheek!
Evii beams with joy as she gazes between Saraphenia and Leafiara.

Leafiara sincerely begins, "My Phenia... Truthfully, this night is even more meaningful to me in some ways than our original wedding two years ago."
Evii looks over at Julenne and shakes her head.
Julenne sobs.
Evii nods emphatically at Julenne!
Leafiara continues, "I vowed to always be with you, often physically by your side but sometimes only in spirit when I had to be away. And I meant it and I still mean it."
Saraphenia smiles a loving smile at her Goddess!
Evii grins impishly at Julenne.
Leafiara acknowledges, "But, in a way, I was doing what I do and embarking on a new adventure. I didn't know for certain whether things would work out."
Falvicar smiles.
Leafiara explains, "I knew I'd hold to my word, but who can ever truly know what someone else will do and feel? I knew I wanted to make you happy, but I didn't know if I would. I didn't know if you'd still love me going into the future. Even if you did, I didn't know if the shine would wear off over time or if you'd still love me as much."
Leafiara states, "But now I do know."
Leafiara adds, "And I know so much more."
Julenne reaches out and touches her wedding ring.
Leafiara says, "You asked me several times tonight if I was feeling nervous, and I said no. I'm not at all. I'm as confident as anyone could be in you and in us. And you can be just as confident in me and in us."
Leafiara smiles at Saraphenia.

Leafiara explains, "From when I was little, long before I ever had thoughts of romance or even knew what it was, I wanted to live a life that inspired others to be their best--and then break past that ceiling and be even better."

Leafiara says, "But I hadn't fully considered what that life would look like if I achieved it. Maybe I thought it would happen at a distance--people could hear of my deeds from afar or I could be a wandering figure of local legends, appearing and disappearing like the wind."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Leafiara says, "When I grew to become more of what I wanted to be, I didn't even recognize it at first. You pursuing me was the catalyst making me start to recognize. First we were friends and I was content with that, but you hoped for more and believed in more. Eventually we were girlfriends and I was content with *that*, but you hoped for more and believed in more."
Leafiara gazes into Saraphenia's eyes.
Leafiara says, "'As you never gave up on me, I saw your passion, I saw your hope, I saw your courage, I saw your desire, I saw how much I meant to you, and that was why I said "I do" to my kindred spirit."

Leafiara seriously says, "*You* were and are the very epitome of someone to whom I'd given inspiration and strength. And instead of being at a distance like I imagined, you were standing next to me. You, the proof I've lived right."
