Announcement 1 - Driftglass Fayre of Van Anicola

This year, we are holding a small, informal winter premium festival entitled "The Driftglass Fayre." Join us in the wilds of the Monsoon Jungle, where a select few members of Van Anicola of the Vanadre Chiras gather each year to place new (and recover old) caches of driftglass, a special type of freshwater-worked glass similar to seaglass.

Dates: December 26, 2025 at 21:00 (9 pm) ET - January 1, 2026 at Noon ET

Highlights:

• 26-Dec 21:00 ET - Gather at [Mist Harbor, Southern Walk] (3210103) to meet the representatives of Van Anicola and travel to their hidden camp for a welcoming and a tour.,
• 27-Dec Noon ET - Another tour and lecture on driftglass for those who missed the initial one or who have questions,
• Shopping - several small carts and tents with wares will be present,
• Merchanting will probably be heaviest over the weekend but can occur any time after the opening tour until 31-Dec at 21:00 ET,
• Raffles will also be run throughout the event,
• Farewell - Noon ET on 1-Jan,

Announcement 2 - [Premium] Driftglass Fayre Opens Tonight

Just as a reminder, the Driftglass Fayre opens tonight at 9 pm ET. While the Fayre is held deep within the Monsoon Jungle, Van Anicola has commissioned a wizard to open a portal from within Mist Harbor to the path just outside the Fayre, minimizing any need to traverse the dangers of the jungle itself.

Please gather at [Mist Harbor, Southern Walk] (3210103) at 9 pm for the opening of the Fayre and its portals.

It is suggested one not linger too long once in the jungle, but steps will have been taken just by the path to mitigate dangers.

Azure driftglass rests against my thumb, cool and fully worn. It came by trade from Van Anicola, carried inland before water took its long work. Riverbeds dulled its edges, seasons pressing it into patience. I turn it once, then let it slip back into the small clay urn, where it settles among the others without sound.

I move when no eyes follow. Kah'lewas asks for that. The olysos taught us—drop, leave, go. Giving should scatter without pattern or witness.

By dawn, nests will be blessed. My work unseen, my presence forgotten, my pockets light, the world quietly graced.

In the tradition of Kah'lewas, an Iyo holiday of quiet giving, the Iyo have traded for driftglass and hidden two small caches somewhere on the Isle of the Four Winds. Left for any who might find them, they lie without pattern through town and wild places, a silent blessing for strangers and neighbors alike.

OOC: If you find one of the caches, you can take a piece of driftglass to use as alteration fodder.

Driftglass Fayre Teaser: A Colorful Market Stall

Wishing you had some rare gems for use in items versus just as generic alter fodder? Then wish no more -- here are a few for you!

The market stall has been set up with a tiered shelving system lined with black linen upon which have been set numerous gems for sale. A small sign reads, "These gems come from across Elanith and Atan Irith and will be perfect for displaying in other items."

On the market stall you see a moon-incised mereagate, a star-cut beetle agate, a sphere of blood agate, a trilliant-cut celestial agate, a crescent of dawn agate, a leaf-carved hemlock green apysel, an opalescent forest moonstone, a sphere of stargazer jade, a pyramid of white lily jade, a bright blue fairy ring diamond, an ebon-hearted vermilion lotus ruby and a silver-gold celestial pearl.

Teaser 2 - A Gaily Decorated Handcart

Driftglass Fayre Teaser: A Gaily Decorated Handcart

The handcart has been carved with several scenes of daily Chiras life, each colorfully painted, and strands of intricately knotted and woven nakheva adorn the cart's handles. A thick quilt with crimson geometric zivtika lines the interior, holding several items prominently displayed for sale. A small sign has been affixed to one side and reads, "Eclectic Collections ~ Please enjoy these wares acquired throughout my travels."

The proprietor of this handcart loves shopping at various festivals, and they have picked up things here and there that may not have been seen for awhile, including some incense (new-style incense from Festival of the Fallen), a toy gladiator originally found on the Kraet ship at Duskruin, a yll'suta from the last Dragonfly festival, and more.

Of particular interest to some will be a stack of white origami paper...(first time these have sold for silvers)

Look for the colorfully painted tent by the coppice for your opportunity to purchase Chiras-crafted folding chairs. These chairs come with a strap that make them conveniently portable for all your travels, whether or not you travel with a van. They are also compatible with Pup Tents. They can be unlocked with the premium unlocker.

Located by the massive banyan tree, the rope-bound burgundy wool tent is home to Cultured Confections, a shop for the discerning dessert and pastry lover. The proprietress offers confectionary boxes for scones and pies, as well as 12 new recipes to add to aforementioned boxes (6 scones and 6 pies). Thank you to GM Mariath for letting me play around with these!

[Premium] Driftglass Fayre Teaser - Wendwillow Candles
Debuting at this year's Driftglass Fayre, Wendwillow candles toggle between general and funerary usage, with special messaging for Wendwillows when the candle is lit and on the funeral setting. These are similar to erithi incense, drawing from the importance of candles in Wendwillow's funeral rites.

Be sure to look for the mahogany stall in the coppice, owned by a member of Van Anicola who favors tailoring articles of clothing with beautifully colored fabrics. Recently, he acquired some magic-imbued material in vibrant hues. The piece is capable of displaying a veritable Rainbow of colors. You'll also find some more Rustic Clothing available at the stall, if you aren't into all that flashy magic.

Debuting at this year's Driftglass Fayre, an array of colorful garments will be offered for sale, styled in traditional Chirasi fashion with shoulder eyelets for lacing sleeves singly or in pairs in a variety of ways.

Garments range from undertunics to doublets, and the laces on the sleeves allow for them to be worn separately -- if you're into that.
