Wendwillow Candle

Wendwillow Candles are scripted candles that can accommodate different types of scents and customizations, plus a wide variety of expanded messaging from standard candles. The Wendwillow Candle was created by GM Xynwen and released for the first time at the Driftglass Fayre Winter Premium Festival in 2025. Similar to erithi incense, the candle has general and funeral settings, drawing on lore found in the document Telling the Bees. Analyze ~*~ Wendwillow Candle for General and Funeral Usages ~*~ Released originally at the 2025 Driftglass Fayre, this is a candle script with up to 7 custom scents. Messaging will vary if lit, unlit, held, not held, as well as if it is set to be funeral or general use. In addition, Wendwillows may have different messaging for some verbs. Alteration Info: * Any willing merchant can alter the look or add/modify scents, but these are separate services * Supports a base, long, and/or show * Noun must be either candle, taper, votive, or rushlight * Material may be wax, beeswax, paraffin, or tallow * Material color should be kept relatively short (1-3 words typically). Examples: red-speckled green, ocean blue, red and blue-swirled * When modifying the appearance, the material and color do not have to be in the base/long/show, but nothing can contradict it * Material/color can be done at the same time as a general appearance alteration Scent Alterations: * These should be real scents (ocean breeze, zesty lemon, cinnamon) and NOT ideas (tears of my enemies) * You can combine a few scents, but it must work with phrases like "the scent of (insert scent here) or "(scent)-scented candle." Example: some smoke smelling of zesty lemon and rotting fish OR the zesty lemon and rotting fish-scented candle. Any more than 3 would get too unwieldy, and the person performing the service has final say. * If you are doing 3 in one, keep the adjectives down (orange, lemon, and grapefruit = fine but zesty orange, fragrant lemon, and sharp grapefruit would be too verbose * You can add/modify up to 3 scents in one sitting Charges: * Merchants have the option to add charges in increments of 50 to a maximum of 500 * This is a separate service and is not one available via premium alteration scrolls * Permifying at the permifier is allowed. Merchant permification is a rare service Verbs: * Fluff traps: gaze, lick, pray, and raise * Usage traps: extinguish, light, look, nudge, place, poke (cycle scents), push (toggle funeral/general), smell, turn (permanently affixes to a private property) Stay-Put Mechanics: This item has Stay-Put qualities. If you PLACE it, it will be moved to the ground in your current room and stay there, unable to be picked up by others or taken by the janitor, for 4 minutes, 46 seconds. You may NUDGE it at a valid container to place the candle on top of the container until you NUDGE it out of its place again. After the duration expires, the item is fair game for others and for the janitor. Alternately, the item may be PLACEd by the owner of a private property within the grounds of the property or by the owner of a stall or loft in and will stay there until PLACEd or NUDGEd again. Private Properties: The owner of a private property may PLACE or NUDGE their candle and then TURN it to make it a permanent fixture. Once you do this, you cannot pick it up again. Additional Information Ambient Messaging Ambients occur when the candle is lit, and they will sometimes vary depending on whether or not the candle is held or on the ground. When held, there are a few ambients that may be slightly different when the holder of the candle is a Wendwillow.
