Off-the-ShelfThe bottle holds one unfolded paper message. After inserting the message, WHISPER the recipient's name to the bottle, CLOSE it, and TOSS it from a suitable watery location. OPEN it, PUT a paper message inside (unfolded papers are rolled on the way in), WHISPER the recipient's name into the glass, CLOSE it, and then TOSS it while at a dock, bridge, beach, riverbank, marsh, raft, or aboard a vessel. The currents will do the rest, delivering the bottle to the recipient wherever they may be. If no water is available, it can also be sent through the local post office like any other parcel. The bottle will also respond to EXHALE and PEER while held. A merchant may alter the glass color (pale grey), which tints PEER, and the wall thickness (thick), which tunes EXHALE. Valid thicknesses are thin, medium, and thick. If you are a recipient, you may LOOK at the bottle before opening it to see who sent it to you. However, once you open it, the bottle goes into its recycle mode, and this information is erased. You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the pale grey bottle for you or deepen its pockets. Usage
Additional InformationSending a message
The bottle enters transit for approximately two to five minutes. If the recipient has logged out before delivery, the bottle continues trying until the recipient returns. Upon delivery, it is placed in a free hand when possible or at the recipient's feet otherwise. The recorded recipient is then cleared so the bottle can be reused. The bottle may also be sent through the local post office like an ordinary parcel. ContentsThe bottle holds one paper message. Accepted paper nouns include paper, parchment, letter, note, scroll, vellum, papyrus, stationery, missive, and document. Folded papers must be unfolded before being inserted. CustomizationThe glass color used in PEER messaging is merchant-alterable. The wall thickness, which determines the tone produced by EXHALE, may be set to thin, medium, or thick. Resources |
