An iron wand contains a number of charges of the spell Minor Shock. One activates the wand using WAVE (verb), and successful activation is dependent on the waver's Magic Item Use. In addition, unused wands generated by the treasure system are called fresh and may be copied by the Duplicate spell. Furthermore, an iron wand is non-crumbly.
Iron wands can be made by wizards through the trinkets subskill of Alchemy. It is the first recipe learned and works for ranks up until rank 16.
