'''Questions Asked, Questions Answered''' |
[Helga's, Dining Hall] |
Tinted glass oil lamps hang from iron sconces, casting a dim glow over the smoke-stained walls of the low-ceilinged room. Several tables and an oaken sideboard, bearing traces of the previous day's meals, are flanked by a long wooden bench and a few smaller chairs. A leaded glass window, its dusty panes half-covered by filmy curtains, looks out on the dark street, and a brick hearth smolders against the north wall. |

Faerinn says, "And for the late comers to arrive." |
Faerinn winks. |
You wave to Eledryn. |
Speaking to you, Eledryn says, "For a moment I was worried those were all for you." |
Ribbet grins. |
You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement. |

You put a small wicker basket in your jade green robe. |
Eledryn bows to Faerinn. |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "Good to see you, again." |
Faerinn bows to Eledryn. |
You say, "There's more of those in the basket if anyone would like to take one." |
You say, "I also have some buttons." |
Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "You too." |
You see Faerinn Greatsinger the Muse. |
He appears to be a Half-Elf from Ta'Loenthra. |
He is of a towering height. He appears to be very young. He has curved, long-lashed sea green eyes and lightly tanned skin. He has long, curly honey blonde hair drawn back into a simple ponytail that is held in place by a vine-etched glossy faenor band. He has an angular, blonde stubble-covered face, a thin nose and a line of jagged-edged scars along his jawline. He has an urglaes black and despanal ombre glaze brushed onto his immaculately manicured fingernails. |
He has an inked snarling opossum hunched over a bloody scrap of meat on his wrist. |
He is in good shape. |
He is holding a cut crystal glass of Faendryl absinthe in his right hand. |
He is wearing an immaculate bourde cravat adorned with an ostentatious jet-flecked ivory starburst pin, a dark velvet smoking jacket fastened with modwir toggles, a thick white towel embroidered with a Silvergate crest, a bathing maiden brooch pinned in place by a pair of mithril chains, some bloused black silk pants with gold stitching, and a pair of chunky knitted plum cotton and magenta wool socks. |
Velitchka skips over to Faerinn merrily. |
Velitchka exclaims, "Hiya Mister Faerinn!" |
Velitchka waves to you. |
Faerinn nods to Velitchka in greeting. |
Speaking to Velitchka, you say, "Welcome. There's drinks on the sideboard, please, help yourself." |
Speaking to Velitchka, Faerinn says, "Hi, I didn't expect to see you on this side of the Dragonspine, but its a welcome sight." |
Speaking to Faerinn, Velitchka exclaims, "I came to see my daddy, thought it would be fun to come see you too!" |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "I never had the chance to hear about your campaign platform." |
You smile at Eledryn. |
Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "You know I'm his campaign manager, surely you can make some guesses." |
Eledryn looks thoughtfully at you. |
Speaking to you, Eledryn says, "Perhaps, but I'd like to hear what our prospective new mayor has to say from his own words." |
You nod slowly at Eledryn. |
You say, "Of course." |
Faerinn grins. |
Eledryn examines Faerinn closely, sizing him up and taking note of all the details. |
You gaze fondly at Faerinn. |
Speaking to himself, Eledryn muses, "Our tall, dashing prospective mayor..." |
Eledryn glances at Faerinn bashfully, blushes, and mumbles a few words, plainly embarrassed. |
Faerinn says, "Alright, I think everyone is settled in so let's get started." |
Velitchka just nudged Eledryn. |
Velitchka giggles. |
Speaking to Eledryn, you ask, "I know, right?" |
Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "He's prettier than I am. And that's saying something." |
You run a hand through your long white blonde hair, trying to make yourself presentable. |
Eledryn runs a hand through his long auburn hair, trying to make himself presentable. |
Velitchka giggles to herself. |
Faerinn runs a hand through his long honey blonde hair, trying to make himself presentable. |
You flash a quick grin at Faerinn. |
Faerinn says, "It's contagious." |
Faerinn grins. |
Ribbet grins at Faerinn. |
Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "It's not green anymore. Mine, that is." |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn asks, "What is?" |
Eledryn runs a hand through his long auburn hair, trying to make himself presentable. |
Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "Checking one's hair." |
Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "I think you were smart enough to duck out when Professor Xorus was offering the hair dyes." |
Eledryn blinks. |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn asks, "Was I doing that again?" |
Eledryn blushes a nice shade of light pink. |
Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Xorus knows the secret to being truly comfortable." |
Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Making everyone else as uncomfortable as possible." |
You nod slowly at Faerinn. |
Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "That one about the flaying..." |
Faerinn recites assertively: |
"There are a couple of thing of things I think need addressing off from the start here tonight." |
Faerinn admits, "I have a reputation for being the anti-Imperial candidate, and I think that is well earned. However, let me be clear that while I am against anti-Imperial rule, I am not anti-Imperials. I am absolutely in favor of Imperial refugees, immigrants, allies, merchants, or visitors. I don't seek to expel, or kill, or assimilate any Imperial citizens or former Imperial citizens. That would make me a hypocrite as I first came here as a refugee and a then later a runaway to fight Jantalar." |
Faerinn rebukes, "What I am opposed to are the power grabs and the seizure of autonomy under the guise of friendship. The conflicts of interest inherent when landed and titled gentry of the Empire hold positions of power within our town. In that regard I am also not a hypocrite. I never chose to rise above my station as barrister to the Mayor's office until Talador was long gone, and the Empire assumed me among its dead. We are in this together in that Hendor took just as much autonomy from the Gryphons as they did us." |
Faerinn proposes, "The second thing I could like to address is defense. Yes, I don't bring it up very often when I'm talking about my vision for Wehnimer's Landing. That's because I have the outmost faith in our defenders and no desire to micro-manage them or otherwise get into their way. That said I would presume that by being represented by one third of the council is enough voice for the Militia, I would advocate to the town council on their behalf should the need arise." |
Eledryn says, "No good comes from giving the military too much voice in anything, that sounds like a reasonable compromise." |
Faerinn coyly says, "What I want is for the rest of the world to see Wehnimer's Landing like I do." |
Faerinn nods at Eledryn. |
Eledryn sits down next to Razanetika. |
Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "He has a thought to increase the numbers of the Council, by adding a position to represent the professional adventurers' guilds." |
Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "You have a warm and colorful vision, it's true." |
Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "Yes, in order to also keep the Hall of Mages voice on the council down to a minimum." |
Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "It's on all your taglines." |
Faerinn says, "So with that said. I'll open the floor to questions." |
You raise your hand. |
Velitchka raises her hand. |
Speaking to Velitchka, you say, "You can go first if you like, I've asked a lot this past week." |
You nod at Velitchka. |
(Faerinn cocks his hand like a crossbow, takes aim at Velitchka, and mimes firing.) |
You snicker at Faerinn. |
Faerinn nods at Velitchka. |
You say, "Oh no. Not the finger crossbows again." |
Ribbet ducks his head. |
Faerinn chuckles. |
Speaking to Ribbet, you say, "We're safe for a moment, it takes him a bit to reload." |
You nod sagely at Ribbet. |
Velitchka says, "Oh! Oh Okie dokie. I was wondering if you had a plan to put woodworkers to work in greater ex.... Eh.. Hey there! Ah putting them to work. My daddy knows a lot of woodworkers that was put out of work by the Bleaklands problem and he can't employ em all." |
Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Now, you know I'm in an incorrigable mood." |
Ribbet wipes the sweat from his brow. |
Velitchka raises her arms defensively in front of her face and ducks behind them. |
Ribbet appears to be trying hard not to grin. |
Speaking to Faerinn, you ask, "Whimsical, perhaps?" |
Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Perhaps." |
Speaking to Velitchka, Faerinn says, "Yes, I'd like to get the wood workers out there and back to work. There is a lot that needs rebuilding." |
Guarrin just arrived. |
Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "Perhaps should be considered a vulgarity and banned forthwith. Evil word." |
You smile. |
Faerinn says, "Assuming the Blight will finally be done in my the Hall of Mages machinations." |
Eledryn starts chuckling at you! |
Velitchka says, "Great! I can send you lots of people, er, I can help my daddy send you people who need work." |
Velitchka nods vigorously! |
Faerinn nods at Velitchka. |
Speaking teasingly to you, Eledryn says, "Perhaps, indeed." |
Speaking to Velitchka, Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your question." |
You say, "One thing we definitely need are replacements for the defense towers that the Hall of Mages destroyed." |
Pietra just arrived. |
Velitchka cluelessly asks, "Kinda so, I think?" |
Pietra flashes a wide grin. |
Faerinn nods to you. |
Ribbet says, "Definitely." |
You say, "Of course, the fact that they were burned down to a cinder within minutes sort of points at their usefulness or lack therein." |
Faerinn asks, "Certainly a replacement for those towers. Didn't Octaven destroy those personally?" |
Guarrin folds his hands behind his back. |
You say, "She did." |
You smile at Guarrin. |
Velitchka mouths, "Refugees travel for work lots." |
Guarrin nods in greeting to you. |
Speaking to Guarrin, you say, "I'm so glad you're here, though I'm afraid you missed a few debate points." |
Faerinn says, "I would invoice her for those...and how handy she has eyes and mouth in the council now." |
Faerinn beams! |
Speaking deeply to you, Guarrin says, "Apologies for my tardiness." |
Faerinn nods at Guarrin. |
Speaking to Velitchka, you say, "Another thing I would love to see is some of the rubble finally cleared away from Banker's Square." |
Speaking to Guarrin, Faerinn says, "It's alright." |
Velitchka says, "I know stone masoner people." |
Velitchka nods fervently to you! |
Guarrin nods once. |
Speaking to you, Ribbet says, "A good point." |
Speaking to Guarrin, you say, "Oh, I forgive you. Want a drink? They're on the floor, and over there on the bar." |
Faerinn says, "But yes, any of our defensive structures that were exhausted during this crisis is a top priority to be replaced and repaired." |
Speaking deeply to you, Guarrin says, "I'm afraid I do not partake. Thank you though." |
You say, "And more ships." |
You say, "Faerinn clearly knows a thing or two about ships, from his Pirate Wars skills." |
Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Glad to see those years in naval academy finally come in handy." |
Ribbet agrees with you. |
Faerinn grins. |
You say, "But I'll point out again that having those ships was key in how the Landing and Mayor Lylia managed to drive off the Krolvin and then invade Glaoveln." |
You say, "And raid them instead of it always being the other way 'round." |
Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "That was nice turn around on her part." |
Ribbet nods slowly. |
You say, "And those are all activities that those looking for work, especially skilled folks like masons and woodcutters- could be of great value." |
You nod at Velitchka. |
Speaking to you, Velitchka asks, "An shipwrights?" |
Velitchka fidgets. |
You nod at Velitchka. |
You say, "Just so." |
Velitchka interestedly whispers aloud, "So much wood working." |
You smile at Faerinn. |
Faerinn says, "I do want to see the shipwrights get back to work as well. That was a great program for revitalizing Shanty Town and I want to see it continued." |
Velitchka exclaims, "When we got refugees out of Talador from that nasty man's grasp my daddy tried to get them all work but there just wasn't enough to go around in Vornavis. So if you gots work up here I am happy to send them your way!" |
You say, "It might also be interesting to test Corduroy that way. See what happens when you ask him for some more pylons to put on those ships." |
Faerinn says, "Boosting our naval defense and getting our people feed are two priorities for sure." |
You nod gratefully at Velitchka. |
Speaking to Velitchka, Faerinn says, "Thank you for that." |
Xiadani raises her hand. |
Velitchka cheerfully exclaims, "Sure thing!" |
Speaking to Velitchka, you say, "I'm glad he survived and I do hope he and his neighbors find a new home." |
(Faerinn turns suddenly mimes firing two finger crossbows at Xiadani.) |
You grin at Xiadani. |
Speaking to Xiadani, you say, "Shot through the heart." |
Pietra begins chortling at Faerinn. |
Faerinn nods at Xiadani. |
Xiadani says, "Could we have a school? I've been all over the town and I can't find any. Unless all the children are attending Rone Academy and no one is ever there." |
Speaking to you, Eledryn says, "Killing your constituents with imaginary crossbows cannot possibly be good for your base." |
Eledryn turns to face Faerinn. |
Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "I believe the word imaginary might trip up that theory." |
Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "Oleani's bolts." |
Alvyara just arrived. |
Faerinn says, "Or maybe Ivas'." |
Eledryn grins at Faerinn. |
Faerinn says, "But yes, a university would be a wonderful idea." |
You smile at Xiadani. |
Xiadani says, "I would just settle for a one room schoolhouse that all the children could go to. Even the poor ones." |
Speaking to Xiadani, Faerinn says, "We import all of our folks of higher learning." |
Speaking to Xiadani, you say, "You stole my question. But I'll forgive you, since it's a very good one." |
You wink at Xiadani. |
Xiadani exclaims, "A university would be great too!" |
Eledryn asks, "Surely some of the members of Silverwood Manor could serve as adjunct faculty?" |
Faerinn says, "At the moment that is the case, but I would love to see them eventually become homegrown." |
Faerinn says, "There are great opportunities for guild apprenticeships and supplemental learning for adventurer's." |
Faerinn says, "But learning from childhood to univeristy is a gap that we should see filled." |
You nod at Faerinn. |
Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "'prenticeships, sure. But something with a unified curriculum, maybe." |
Faerinn says, "I apprenticed through the barrister guild here and look at me now - running for mayor." |
You grin at Faerinn. |
Velitchka asks, "So you are planning reading and 'rithmatic for everyone?" |
Xiadani exclaims, "That would be good!" |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn asks, "I had previously spoke with Mayor Lylia about the possibility of opening an outdoor space for open-air performances, one that anyone could join as an audience. There are other places outdoors, but all lack basic amenities like a stage. Would you be willing to take on continuing that project if elected?" |
Faerinn says, "But a unified curriculum for everyone. That would move us so far forward." |
Faerinn nods at Eledryn. |
You quietly whisper to Alvyara, "Perhaps those who have problems, you know? Like Bastiara with her reading, that I told you about?" |
You quietly whisper to Alvyara, "It took some work, but my music really did the trick- I wonder if that could be used for many such circumstances?" |
Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "I support an expansion of the arts in the Landing. Give people something to do in the evenings aside from waiting for the rain." |
Velitchka exclaims, "Oh boy, more building projects!" |
Faerinn says, "But more venues for artists both visual and movement." |
Speaking to Eledryn, Velitchka asks, "Open air theater with rickety benches?" |
Mayor Lylia just arrived. |
Faerinn says, "I also plan to put together a registry of all the public art in the city. For preservation and repair." |
Faerinn nods to Lylia in greeting. |
Speaking to Velitchka, Eledryn says, "A nice place to rest and enjoy the sun and some entertainment during a break from a busy day's work." |
Speaking to Lylia, you say, "Your ears must be burning. Lovely, slender ears that they are." |
Lylia gazes fondly at Faerinn. |
Speaking to Eledryn, Xiadani says, "Maybe the open air theater hands out nice clothes to poor attendees." |
Speaking cheerfully to Eledryn, Velitchka exclaims, "Sun is nice, people here don't get enough of it!" |
Speaking to Eledryn, Xiadani says, "Give them incentive for showing up." |
Alvyara appears to be trying hard not to grin. |
Faerinn says, "So much is in direpair. Maybe outside forces will feel less inclineed to micromanage us if we look like we take care of our things." |
Faerinn says, "But before I go further." |
Lylia says, "...That is to say, forgive me for being late. I did not mean to interrupt." |
Speaking to Xiadani, Faerinn asks, "Did I answer your question?" |
Speaking to Lylia, you say, "I'm so pleased you could come, I know how busy you are, my lady." |
Xiadani nods at Faerinn. |
Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn asks, "And yours as well?" |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "Reasonably, though topics of its location and other things... still need to be ironed out. Eventually." |
Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "Of course. That will require back and forth with the town council." |
Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "And I intend to place all communication between in the council somewhere where the public can review it. Requests and such. Nothing that might leak vital defense information." |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "I hope that the council will involve those who might perform in some of that process." |
Faerinn nods at Eledryn. |
Faerinn asks, "Any other questions?" |
Ribbet raises his hand. |
Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "I believe yours was sniped." |
You say, "All right." |
You nod at Faerinn. |
You say, "Xiadani took mine but I'm never without more." |
Faerinn says, "Ah, then." |
You say, "We've talked a lot about civic improvements, and about your priorities when you start." |
You say, "But here's one I haven't heard." |
(Faerinn pivots on his feet and levels his hand crossbows on Xanthium.) |
You grin at Faerinn. |
Faerinn says, "Xanthium then Ribbet." |
Ribbet adopts an agreeable expression. |
(Xanthium pantomimes clutching her gown bodice and keels over.) |
(Ribbet fans Xanthium.) |
Alvyara appears to be trying hard not to grin. |
Ribbet gulps. |
Eledryn removes a pearl-linked fan of pale alabaster silk from in his elven leather satchel. |
Folding his wrist gracefully, Eledryn rests his open alabaster silk fan against his opposite shoulder. |
Eledryn stands up. |
Guarrin glances down. |
Razanetika chortles softly at some secret joke. |
Eledryn waves a pearl-linked fan of pale alabaster silk at you. |
Ribbet glances at Faerinn. |
Speaking softly to Faerinn, you ask, "If you could make changes in the local justice system, what would they be? What about the penal system, anything you'd change there?" |
(Faerinn peers at his fingers.) |
You cough. |
Alvyara says, "Good question." |
Lylia nods in agreement. |
You say, "Much as I found that woman yelling annoying..." |
You say, "I am not sure that yelling should be punished by hanging." |
You say, "Even a lot of yelling." |
You say, "So I've been thinking on it since." |
You nod at Faerinn. |
You smile. |
Speaking to you, Ribbet says, "A fine point, I had to watch her dragged away many times too." |
Velitchka asks, "Why didn't they just gag her?" |
Alvyara winces. |
Velitchka touches one finger to her lips. |
Faerinn says, "That seems to be the obvious move or just lock her out of the building." |
You nod at Velitchka. |
You say, "It seemed like it was meant to embarrass her." |
You say, "And I have to question the efficacy of that." |
Velitchka cluelessly says, "Or cut out her tongue? I guess those grow back on some people." |
Velitchka giggles. |
Lylia thoughtfully taps a finger against her lips. |
Velitchka says, "Sorry Mister Faerinn, go on as you was saying." |
Guarrin scratches his chin. |
Ribbet smiles. |
You say, "Again, I'm not supporting what she did. I was relieved when she was removed." |
You say, "...but." |
Razanetika softly says, "Hanging was a bit extreme." |
Razanetika shrugs nonchalantly. |
Faerinn says, "That does seem a bit draconian for the offense." |
Ribbet nods. |
Faerinn says, "I will also point out as a barrister I don't care for the lack of trial in that matter either." |
Lylia says, "The constabulary's removal from the direct supervision of the mayoral office is another sign of the erosion of power in the office. Whomever succeeds me should fight to restore it." |
Faerinn says, "Wellington ruined a lot of his predecessors fun." |
Eledryn says, "As I recall, the hanging itself wasn't exactly performed by the guards but rather a bunch of commoners taking justice in to their own hands, as it were. So perhaps more in question is a justice system that allowed that to happen." |
Eledryn says, "Though the guards may have merely turned a blind eye after her previous punishment in the stocks failed to teach any sort of lesson." |
Faerinn says, "Hmm, I think much like the way I would love to see the council expanded perhaps more judges. Renpaw has gotten very comfortable then." |
Guarrin raises an eyebrow. |
Faerinn says, "Vigilante justice is always a problem on the frontier." |
You nod at Faerinn. |
You say, "A lot of traumatized people." |
Eledryn says, "It is often better than no justice at all, but only barely." |
Faerinn says, "Having a more centralized and codified systems of laws and penalties would move us past being viewed as frontier town." |
Faerinn says, "But really the first step to any kind of judicial reform would first start with reconnecting the mayor's office and the constabulary." |
You grin at Lylia. |
Speaking to Lylia, you say, "Looks like someone was listening." |
Faerinn says, "And THAT will required a lot of organizing and voting from the public." |
Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Thank you, Faerinn. I'm done with my question." |
You gaze fondly at Faerinn. |
Lylia nods in agreement to you. |
Faerinn nods to you. |
Lylia winks. |
(Faerinn lines up Ribbet in the sights of his finger crossbows.) |
Speaking to Ribbet, you say, "I hate to tell you....ah, too late..." |
Ribbet gulps. |
Speaking to Ribbet, you say, "So sorry, you're so young." |
Ribbet buries his face in his hands. |
You nod at Ribbet. |
Alvyara gazes heavenward. |
Speaking quietly to you, Ribbet asks, "Did he miss me? or am i a ghost yet?" |
Speaking to Ribbet, Faerinn says, "Whoosh." |
Ribbet wipes the sweat from his brow. |
Speaking to Ribbet, you say, "You may ask your question. See what happens." |
You smile at Ribbet. |
Eledryn skillfully begins to weave another verse into his harmony. |
An animated heavy crossbow appears and hovers near Eledryn. |
You grin at Eledryn. |
Eledryn giggles. |
Velitchka exclaims, "I gots to go, byebye everyone!" |
Velitchka stands up. |
Velitchka just skipped merrily south. |
Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "A bit more than a finger there." |
Speaking to Faerinn, Ribbet asks, "My question was.. i keep hearing that you want to foster entertainment and night life... and some has been discussed, but do you have other ideas in particular, besides an open air stage?" |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "Given my talents in archery, about as deadly though." |
Speaking to Ribbet, Faerinn says, "Open air theatres, and to make ourself more appealing to touring troupes and mummers." |
Ribbet nods at Faerinn. |
Ribbet says, "Thank you I look forward to it." |
Faerinn says, "For example by proposing to the town council to set up grants and microloans for the venues in town to get the neccessary repairs they need and for the start of new ones." |
You say, "The disparity between adventurers and townfolk is so severe. I don't think people realize how little money it would take to fund a shop." |
You say, "We spend millions on one another's rats." |
Ribbet nods slowly at Faerinn. |
Faerinn says, "I see the temple in the Vipershroud as two means to my goals of art preservation and attracting visitors to this region." |
Speaking to you, Eledryn says, "True. I'm poor, but still reckon I have more silver than Tykel does." |
You smile at Faerinn. |
Faerinn nods at Eledryn. |
You say, "We would love to host artists and sculptors and those gifted in other arts, again." |
You say, "Like Her great Temple in Ta'Nalfen." |
Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Maybe some kind of artist in residency could be arranged." |
Alvyara says, "I would propose contests, to draw talent from nearby regions. For visual arts, dance, and poetry." |
You nod at Alvyara. |
Xiadani says, "Like Solhaven is doing now." |
Xiadani nods at Alvyara. |
Speaking to Ribbet, Faerinn says, "I hope that answered your question." |
Ribbet nods at Faerinn. |
Ribbet says, "Yes it answers very well, thank you." |
Speaking to Alvyara, Faerinn says, "I was just speaking to a Handmaiden from Ta'Illistim about the possibility of a travelling show that combines art from both sides of the Dragonspine." |
Alvyara flashes a quick grin at Faerinn. |
Speaking to Faerinn, Alvyara says, "That sounds just wonderful." |
You say, "I agree." |
Guarrin just went south. |
Faerinn nods at Alvyara. |
Speaking to Alvyara, Faerinn says, "So that one is in the works regardless." |
Alvyara says, "I can't wait." |
Faerinn asks, "Any more questions?" |
Eledryn raises his hand. |
You smile at Eledryn. |
Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "Shore up your flank, mister." |
Wisps of pale viridian light begin to swirl around Eledryn's hand as he prepares a spell... |
Eledryn skillfully begins to weave another verse into his harmony. |
Eledryn begins singing and focuses his voice into a vortex of air centered on his left arm. |
Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "Another bolt is making its way...." |
(Faerinn fires his hand crossbows from the hip at Eledryn.) |
Speaking to his sonic shield, Eledryn says, "Not that I know how to use you anymore than I do an animated crossbow." |
Ribbet cringes. |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn asks, "Great leaders are often made by those they choose as their advisors, and when they choose to listen to their advice. Have you given thought as to who might serve as your advisors if you are elected, and why have you chosen them?" |
Speaking to Eledryn, Alvyara says, "Good question." |
You smile at Eledryn. |
Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "Agreed." |
Faerinn says, "I always admired Cruxophim's large team of advisers, and think that is certainly something worth emulating." |
Lylia leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, a thoughtful expression on her face. |
Faerinn says, "But something more in the middle of a spectrum between Cruxophim's very large team and Lyla's very tightly knit group of advisors." |
You nod at Faerinn. |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "The question is more a matter of who than how many." |
Faerinn says, "More diverse voices, but not so cumbersome that I have to rent out a meeting hall everytime some meglomaniac comes calling." |
Eledryn says, "Maybe not specific people, but skillsets and talents you would look for." |
Faerinn grins at Eledryn. |
Faerinn says, "I'm getting there." |
Faerinn says, "My campaign manager Xanthium seems an obvious choice. She's been a great advisor so far. I would also extend an offers to advisors on Mayor Lylia's team to since they have a wealth of knowledge and experience on how the mayors office works." |
You blush a nice shade of rosy pink. |
Alvyara reaches over and gently rests her hand on your arm. |
Faerinn says, "But I think it would be prudent to also have open applications and look for more talent in the community that for different perspectives." |
Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Thank you. I would be pleased to continue my work as Lylia's emissary, since you brought us up together under the same idea." |
Faerinn says, "Or rather that have different perspectives." |
You quietly whisper to Lylia, "I think so, as well, but if he does win and he keeps Xorus as the power, well...that would be an interesting thing to watch take shape." |
Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your question." |
Faerinn says, "Oh dear, I'm not sure Xiadani is coming back." |
Faerinn asks, "Did she let anyone else know her question?" |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn asks, "How will you handle a situation where what you feel is the best course of action differs substantially from the opinions of your advisors, then?" |
Faerinn says, "The first answer that jumped into my head was oil wrestling." |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn retorts, "I see we are getting to the 'Flirtations' part of the event." |
Eledryn appears to be struggling to keep a straight face. |
Eledryn says, "Apologies." |
Razanetika blinks. |
You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement. |
Alvyara chuckles. |
Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Yes, I totally support this." |
You nod once at Faerinn. |
Lylia removes a tiny vial of skin oil from in her enameled metal case. |
Lylia put a tiny vial of skin oil in her enameled metal case. |
Ribbet agrees with you. |
Ribbet grins. |
You snap your fingers. |
You say, "I left my oil...well, never mind where I left it." |
You say, "I'll get more. A lot more." |
You nod at Faerinn. |
Alvyara gazes in amusement at you. |
You say, "Just let me know." |
Eledryn hums a happy tune, skillfully expressing his friendly mood. |
You grin at Eledryn. |
Faerinn says, "So I think I would trust who could dissuade me from that." |
Faerinn grins. |
Ribbet grins. |
You snicker. |
Faerinn says, "But in all seriousness." |
Faerinn says, "That's typically why many advisors come from the campaigns." |
(Editor's Note: At this point some of us, including Faerinn, started experiencing some system lag.) |
You say, "Faerinn's having a little trouble, give him a moment or two to compose his anwer." |
Faerinn says, "Because its people we've already been in a intense and sometimes harrowing process with." |
Faerinn grins at you. |
Lylia nods in agreement at Faerinn. |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "Though it can be wise to have advisors who challenge your own assumptions." |
Eledryn says, "Those who ensure all angles of an argument are considered." |
Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "Of course. That's why I'm hoping to scout the community too. And there are people are Lylia's team I don't exactly see eye to eye with, but know them to give sound advice." |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn asks, "Would you consider either of the other two candidates?" |
Faerinn nods at Eledryn. |
Faerinn says, "I hope. Either or both." |
Lylia says, "I believe all former mayors can vouch for Xorus as an outstanding advisor." |
Lylia chuckles. |
You grin at Lylia. |
Ribbet grins. |
Faerinn says, "I'm sorry to say I think its getting a bit late. And I think that will be our last questions for the night." |
You nod at Faerinn. |
Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "It was a good talk." |
You applaud Faerinn. |
Faerinn says, "I thank you all for coming out tonight and whoever you decide to vote for this weekend I imply you to at least vote." |
(Faerinn mimes firing his finger crossbows repeated in the air.) |
You say, "Thank you all for coming. And yes, he's right. No matter what decision you make, please vote for your candidate." |
Lylia warmly says, "Thank you, Faerinn; I am sorry I could not be here sooner." |
Lylia leans closer to Faerinn and kisses the air next to his cheek. |
Faerinn kisses Lylia on the cheek. |
Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "Once again, it has been a pleasure to speak with you." |
Faerinn kisses you tenderly on the cheek. |
Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Thanks for your help tonight." |
You smile at Faerinn. |
Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "I believe in you." |
You kiss Faerinn tenderly on the cheek. |
Faerinn says, "Please see Xanthium for any campaign materials you may need." |
You wave to Faerinn. |
Faerinn just left. |

Rohese beams happily at Treeva! |
Traiva calmly flutters her wings at you to an unheard rhythm. |

Aeith just closed a lightweight rugged survival pack with embossed leather straps and mithril buckles. |

Flirtations with Faerinn I, Charlatos the 2nd, Frith's Inn
Questions Asked, Questions Answered
Questions Asked, Questions Answered Faerinn recites: You've probably seen me around town, I have a very striking appearance, but you might not know who I am. That's because I m mostly kept my head down as a civil servant these last few decades as a former militia member and later as a municipal counsel to the Mayor's office since the Walkar Administration. Lylia nods appreciatively. Faerinn recites: While I am ashamed I was not able to protect him from being framed for murder I am the only person who was in that court room Grishom Stone has not been able to buy off or corrupt. So that has to be worth something right? Speaking to Faerinn, Nehor adds, "The only one who has stood up for the people from the Landing when it counts." Shinann says, "I am not sure who was in that courtroom. That was before I was living here." Lylia nods in agreement at Shinann. You say, "I first got to know him on Mist Harbor, during the trouble there with the..." You give a sidelong glance at Nehor. Nehor coughs. Shinann looks thoughtfully at you. You say, "...political upheaval..." Naamit's eyes narrow to mere slits as she croons a discordant tune between pursed lips. Lylia nods to you. Faerinn recites: "I have actually won in a court by the way. Mostly as a civil counsel in the Empire restoring individual rights after Chaston's Edict was lifted in the Empire." You say, "And thought that he made investigations and discoveries at a time that truly turned the tides toward justice." Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Much of it was from your advocacy. Some of it from your fists in Clerkus' overlarge teeth." You flash a quick grin at Faerinn. Faerinn recites: "Wehnimer's Landing is the promise of independence. A place where anyone from any walk of life can just exist without the permission of someone higher born to do so. Despite these differences, we are a community that has always been able to come together and raise each other up under constant threat of eldritch annihilation." Faerinn grins at you. Juspera nods vigorously! Naamit removes an ebon-handled lavender teacup from in her lambswool cloak. Naamit takes a drink from her lavender teacup. Goldstr agrees with Faerinn. Faerinn recites: "Defending that freedom has come with its own scars. Where before we were free to be ourselves we must kneel and beg permission like children asking to go out to play. Earl Jovery says yes for now, but here's the thing about rule by birth. What would his children think of us and our freedoms? Or his children's children? Or their children?" Faerinn recites: "As mayor I would see to it the the noose slipped over our necks does not get any tighter. But I don t want to see the Landing merely survive. We've been just surviving for too long. Thanks to Mayor Lylia and our town's defenders Wehnimer's Landing can rebuild. This time we could thrive." Nehor nods approvingly. Faerinn says, "And that's my little pitch and I'd like to welcome you all to feel free to ask me about it." Lylia places a hand over her heart. Lylia inclines her head. Nehor applauds politely. Siggurd applauds. Lylia applauds Faerinn. Speaking to Lylia, you say, "We and our campaign are very appreciative of the trials and victories you have had during your tenure, Mayor Rashere." You applaud Faerinn. Faerinn says, "Or let me know any concerns about the town that you would like to see addressed." Siggurd raises his hand. Goldstr raises his hand. Balar just went through some swinging doors. Nehor turns an inquisitive ear toward Siggurd. Guarrin raises his hand. Lylia murmurs, "Thank you. Kind of you to say." Faerinn says, "We don't have to be formal about it, but I say Siggurd's hand go up first." You grin at Siggurd. Naamit places her hand on her hourglass girdle. Naamit shifts her weight. Siggurd asks, "What is the first obstacle you would attempt to tackle if elected?" You say, "A fine question." Faerinn says, "If it is still around certainly the Blight, but the Councilman mage seems to have that well in hand." Lylia thoughtfully taps a finger against her lips. Faerinn says, "Currently." Lylia nods slightly. The smiling hostess leads a young couple to a quiet (and very secluded) table in a darkened corner of the room. Faerinn says, "If I could have my way...." Faerinn ponders. Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "You'd get yourself and my mother into some sort of derring-do." Nehor chuckles. Faerinn says, "It would be to set up a position and team to preserve and restore public art here in the Landing." Naamit nods approvingly at Faerinn. Nehor approvingly says, "Excellent, something that benefits all people." Siggurd nods. Faerinn says, "That's my dream project there." You nod slowly at Faerinn. Faerinn says, "It would take a lot of talented artisans to do it and those artisans working after so much Blight." Siggurd says, "Thank you." You say, "Lady Rashere had wanted to commission an outdoor theater for productions and events, but sadly the past year has seen an awful lot of crises." Faerinn says, "I hope that satisfies your question." Lylia says, "The plans are still before the Town Council. But, well, the Council itself has been depleted." Nazarr turns toward Goldstr and renders a sharp salute with his longsword. You say, "But I like the idea of galleries and showings." Faerinn says, "Goldstr was next I believe." Naamit begins chortling at Lylia. Faerinn nods at Goldstr. Speaking to Faerinn, Goldstr asks, "Wha be yer feelings bout da Rooks?" You say, "Art outside of manors and estates." Nehor notes, "Art can lift morale and provide the education the people of the Landing need to maintain a strong trade and independance." You hear the voice of a nearby crier announce, "Vidos is currently available at Silverwood Manor in Wehnimer's Landing to offer help or advice to any adventurer in need. Looking for answers? You may find them here!" (Please select DIR SILVERWOOD to find your way there.) Faerinn says, "Oh, good Vidos can be my back up at taking questions." You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement. You grin at Faerinn. Goldstr grins. Shinann chuckles. Lylia chuckles. Faerinn says, "My take on the Rooks is that they are criminals." Goldstr asks, "An workin wid Mother?" Goldstr says, "Er nae." Faerinn says, "And while some people find them fighters for the people....I haven't seem them be much more than bandits." Speaking to Goldstr, you say, "I haven't met this Mother yet." Faerinn says, "I would have to meet Mother to really know how I feel about her." Faerinn says, "I'm very good at reading people. Its very hard to judge by second hand accounts." Goldstr says, "Mother, Lady D'Archon is on da Council an now leads da Rooks." Lylia coughs. Nehor sagely says, "Wise to reserve judgment, instead of rushing to bad decisions like some of his competitors might feel the need to do." Speaking to Goldstr, Shinann says, "We do not know if that is the same person." Lylia says, "With due respect, we do not know who 'Mother' is. I do not believe she is Alendrial deArchon." Faerinn says, "Yeah, that's speculation veering close to libel." Nazarr says, "Slander. It's spoken, not written." Faerinn corrects, "Slander." Goldstr says, "I may be wrong but somehow I thought she had said so." Faerinn nods at Nazarr. Lylia says, "As one of the few remaining hale, sane, and present Town Council members, Lady deArchon has proven her worth many times over. 'Mother' is something she used to style herself, when she was the head of the Rooks, but the Rooks were as different then as they were under Drangell's hideous claw." Faerinn says, "Now, Lady D'Archon I've heard great things about her and look forward to meeting and working with her." Speaking curiously to Faerinn, Nehor asks, "Would you be willing to meet with this figure known as Mother if she reached out to you? Even if you feel that these rooks are, as you say, criminals?" Speaking to Akenna, you say, "Welcome, my friend." Faerinn nods at Nehor. Speaking to Nehor, Faerinn says, "I certainly would meet with her. Yes." Nehor nods once. Faerinn nods at Goldstr. Speaking to Goldstr, Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your questions." Speaking to Faerinn, Nehor praises, "Willing to reach out to people, to work with others. A great thing in a leader." You say, "The mayor has some executive privilege, I'd think. It's not their place to arrest people, unless, of course, something happens in front of them..." Speaking to Faerinn, Goldstr says, "Tankee fer yer answers." Lylia nods to you. Juspera bites her lip. Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Mayor can suggest an arrest, but its really up to the constabulary." Akenna raises her hand. Faerinn nods at Guarrin. Guarrin flashes a wide grin. Speaking to Guarrin, Faerinn says, "I believe you were next." Goldstr turns an inquisitive ear toward Guarrin. Speaking to Lylia, you say, "Like your timely suggestions the other night." Lylia smiles at you. Speaking deeply to Faerinn, Guarrin asks, "Thank you. You had mentioned Earl Jovery earlier and a free landing. How do you intend to deal with relations with the Earl?" Faerinn smiles at Guarrin. Speaking to Guarrin, you say, "Also a good question." Guarrin folds his hands behind his back. Faerinn says, "I would match his energy. I'd match step with the kind of legal hijinks he's making with the town now." You nod at Faerinn. Deep in thought, Lylia laces her fingers before her. Speaking deeply to Faerinn, Guarrin asks, "How would you go about accomplishing that?" Faerinn says, "For example by placing a non-citizen on the Towncouncil I would seek to have the council expanded to drown the Councilman Mage and my extension Jovery out." Juspera applauds Faerinn wildly! Lylia raises her hand. Juspera exclaims, "Yes! Drown him!" Nehor raises an eyebrow in Juspera's direction. You say, "I believe Faerinn is speaking metaphorically." Juspera says, "I can tie his hands." Juspera disappointedly says, "Oh." Faerinn says, "For example seek to open the council to also include members from all the local professional guilds." Goldstr grins at Juspera. Juspera nods vigorously at Faerinn! You say, "It would be interesting, to widen the Council, especially postings that would be relational to the town's adventurer population." Faerinn says, "That is not within the Mayor's purview to do by oneself, but it is something that the Mayor can move forward on public vote in order to do so." Nehor nods once. Speaking deeply to Faerinn, Guarrin asks, "And if that sours relations with the Earl?" Speaking to Guarrin, Faerinn says, "Those grapes are already soured if he's not even willing to work with us in this case and manipulate the rule of law against us." Guarrin nods slowly. Guarrin flashes a wide grin at Faerinn. Raelee gives a sidelong glance at Guarrin. Goldstr says, "We DO be a Protectoate of da Empire which does keep Baronys an sech from takin control of us." Speaking deeply to Faerinn, Guarrin says, "Thanks for answering my question." Faerinn nods at Guarrin. Faerinn looks over at Goldstr and shakes his head. Naamit says, "I have a follow up question to one of your responses." Faerinn says, "Suzerainty actually." Shinann says, "The mayor answers to the council... so not sure how that would work. Not saying I am against it. Just trying to get it straight in my head." Shinann says, "Sorry." Shinann nods at Naamit. Lylia nods at Shinann. Speaking to Naamit, Shinann says, "I did not mean to interrupt." Faerinn says, "Another country controls our foreign policy, but currently allows us to have our autonomy." Speaking to Shinann, Faerinn says, "Both the Mayor and the Council answer to the people. The voters." Speaking to Faerinn, Naamit asks, "You mentioned filling the council with local guild members, which I find quite appealing. Will you thus promote local businessmen and women to ensure their trades are met, outside the more common guilds?" Goldstr agrees with Faerinn. Faerinn says, "I think we are moving a bit out of order." You say, "It might encourage more participation in the civic side of Wehnimer's Landing, from the professions who come here to study." Speaking to Naamit, Faerinn says, "But yes. Particularly the adventurer population. Fisherman and tradesman are already represented." You say, "If they felt they had an outlet in the government. An advocacy." Nehor simply adds, "Just another reason Mister Faerinn is the Landing's best chance for a bright future. He is willing to work with ALL the people of the Landing and not only that? To give US a voice." Speaking to Faerinn, Akenna inquires, "I wanted to know, merely as an observer. How do you intent to heal the ties with the nations, more specifically, The Argent Mirror?" Speaking quietly to Xorus, Lylia says, "We were just talking about protectorates and suzerainties." Speaking to Akenna, Faerinn says, "Fortunately in that regards I already have a decent relationship with the Argent Mirror. We've already spoken togethet on how to possibly get Elves that who no longer wish to live in the Empire as refuges back to the houses." Faerinn says, "If they so desire." Speaking to Faerinn, Akenna asks, "What of other ties and alliances with the other Elven Houses?" Speaking to Akenna, Faerinn says, "Unfortunately such displomacy might not fall under the mayor's purview anymore." Speaking to Faerinn, Akenna says, "I understand." Speaking to Faerinn, Akenna exclaims, "Thank you for answering!" Faerinn says, "However, the Emperor and the Argent Mirror do have a working relationship now." Speaking to Akenna, Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your question." Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn asks, "Did I see your hand go up?" Speaking to Faerinn, Akenna exclaims, "It does. I appreciate your time!" Lylia nods at Faerinn. Lylia says, "You did." Lylia smiles at Faerinn. Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn says, "Please ask away." Lylia asks, "You have no doubt noticed the, ah...blood-lust among some of our own citizens. 'War with Ta'Vaalor,' they cry! 'Drown the Town Council,' they scream! How would you keep the local peace?" Lylia admits, "Sometimes, I have found it a greater challenge than foreign relations." Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn says, "I think I have you to thank for the insight on that." Lylia chuckles. Lylia admits, "If you are offering flattery as an answer, then yes, you have learned something from me." Faerinn says, "Two things then." Lylia flashes a quick grin at Faerinn. Speaking to Lylia, you say, "I have learned a world or two's worth of grace and power from you, Mayor." Faerinn says, "The mayor acts also a face of our government." Lylia inclines her head. Lylia murmurs, "Very kind of you." Faerinn says, "And sometimes from being recognized like that as being the easiet part of the process to find and recognize...it invites a lot of that energy." Faerinn says, "A part of keeping the peace is being a mediator, but also just being there for the townspeople to vent at." Lylia dryly remarks, "Yes, I tried to delegate that to my advisor, but he is too clever for that." Lylia winks at Xorus. Xorus smirks. Speaking to Xorus, you say, "It would appear you're going to pursue the bullseye yourself." Guarrin chuckles to himself. Juspera says, "Faerinn is very sympathetic." Lylia nods in agreement at Faerinn. Xorus says, "We will see about that." Faerinn says, "If people are mad at me they aren't going to start setting up a councilman dunking booth or march on Vaalor." Juspera says, "He's like a mother." Faerinn says, "Especially if they feel like they've been heard." Faerinn grins. Juspera is admiring Faerinn. Lylia agrees, "It is vital to people that they be heard, yes." You say, "Juspera is right. All of our candidates have excellent qualities. Professor Xorus has his expert knowledge and perspective from thousands of years, and Leafiara is a bridge between...several aspects of the Landing. But Faerinn I feel has his eyes open. He knows that a lot of this will not be much fun. But like Lylia, thinks it is important." Juspera exclaims, "I didn't say they all had excellent qualities!" Juspera fidgets. Faerinn says, "They need to be heard and they need to get that all out, which unfortunately means I'm going to have to hear a lot of vitriol." Juspera takes a few steps away from Xorus. Speaking to Juspera, you say, "I dusted it off and made it prettier." Faerinn says, "Fortunately, this is the Landing and not the Empire so its over the things I do and not the height of my ears." Faerinn smiles at Lylia. Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your question." Faerinn asks, "Did I miss anyone?" Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "The Temple of Ivas also appreciates your genial and accepting nature." Lylia says, "It does, well and thoroughly. I thank you for the detailed and honest answer." Lylia nods appreciatively at Faerinn. Speaking to Shinann, Faerinn asks, "Was there another part to your question?" Shinann says, "I would like to clarify something. If the blight is handled when you are voted in..." Shinann asks, "You said you will then focus on the arts?" Faerinn nods at Shinann. Lylia murmurs, "If." Lylia clears her throat. Shinann asks, "Not stone walls?" Speaking to Shinann, Faerinn says, "Rebuilding." Juspera says, "They could be stone walls with art on them." Shinann says, "I am trying to see what his priorities are." Raelee takes a moment to observe Faerinn. Shinann says, "I am not against art." Speaking to Shinann, Faerinn says, "The arts are done by the working class." Speaking to Shinann, Faerinn says, "Its not without merit. If there is something people want to preserve and take pride in." Faerinn says, "Then they'll build walls to protect it." Shinann slowly empties her lungs. Shinann says, "I think they want to protect their lives first." Guarrin shakes his head, totally at a loss. Shinann says, "So they can create art." You say, "There's a theory that says art reproduces the social stratification it is part of, but also that out of all the institutions, has the most potential to evolve or change those layers, challenge them." Faerinn says, "Yes, they need to be feed and protected first, but we could so so much more than merely survive." Shinann says, "I am not against doing more than surviving." Speaking to you, Naamit mentions, "It can mend bridges and rock institutions alike." Shinann says, "But, if you do not survive, then..." Speaking to Faerinn, Shinann says, "Thank you for your answer." Speaking to Naamit, you say, "It can break those barriers, or blend them." Faerinn says, "I want to see the Landing not only lift each other up to defend against those Eldritch threats. What if you could put that kind of unification behind rebuilding? That would be incredible." Faerinn nods at Shinann. Shinann says, "I fear it will take awhile, but the people will bounce back. This last year has been difficult." Lylia notes, "It would have been far more difficult if Kragnack and Raznel had wholly had their way." Lylia gazes with interest at Raelee. Shinann agrees with Lylia. Goldstr nods at Lylia. Speaking to Shinann, Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your questions. Architecture is among the arts and let me tell you they built those cities in the East to outlast us." Shinann says, "The elves look ahead." Shinann says, "I have no problems with the Nations." Speaking to Faerinn, Shinann says, "Thank you, again." Faerinn nods at Raelee. Goldstr turns an inquisitive ear toward Raelee. Speaking evenly to Faerinn, Raelee asks, "What variety of Imperial activity in this region is acceptable to you? And to what extent?" Goldstr rubs his chin thoughtfully. Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn says, "That's a good questions. Conquest even of the bloodless variety shouldn't be acceptable." Faerinn says, "Especially since the cause was sticking our own necks out to help Vornavis from starving at the embargoes of Jantalar." Speaking to Faerinn, Goldstr says, "Dat has gone both ways me friend." Faerinn says, "I don't regret our aid to Vornavis, but this is not transactional. Helping each other out and not demanding tribute for each time you do it is a friendship." Faerinn says, "And to be fair to Vornavis, they have been our friends in all this. Its Hendor that has taken the gomption to make us pay for doing the Sentinals job for him." Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn says, "Being actual allies would certainly be acceptable, but allies don't look for an opportunity to reel in the other in a moment of weakness." Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your question." Speaking to Faerinn, Raelee says, "It does not." Faerinn says, "I hope I got around to everyone tonight. If not I will be doing another one of these on Feastday at the Silvergate Inn. Ten in the evening, Elven time." Speaking to Juspera, you say, "It's hardly the first time Magister Svala has had to voice an unpopular sentiment." Lylia adds, "And of course, the Temple of Ivas will be hosting all available candidates this Restday as well. I look forward to it." Lylia asks, "Is that to be a debate format? Or more of an informal gathering?" You say, "Thank you for advertising for us, Mayor Rashere." Lylia says, "Given the venue, I would have to assume the latter." Lylia flashes a quick grin. Speaking to Lylia, you say, "Brother Kothos is going to host, and yes...he's not very formal." You say, "I would imagine he'll encourage more conversation like this." Faerinn says, "Yes, we'll all be in attendance at the Temple of Ivas." Xorus says, "Sounds positively decadent." Goldstr grins at Xorus. Speaking to Xorus, you say, "It's a lovely setting." Lylia diplomatically says, "It would be unconscionably rude of me to mention when Xorus and I might be at Silvergate on Restday, but we shall try not to drink all the wine before you are there two hours later." You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement. You say, "It's quite all right, we just mentioned our own event, too." Lylia nods to you. Faerinn nods at Lylia. Shinann says, "Maybe he will answer the Magister's question there. I would like to hear the answer, also." Goldstr agrees with Shinann. You say, "And I hope that you and Professor Xorus know that there is no rancor directed toward either of you. If anything, I find this exciting." Xorus nods to you. Lylia says, "Absolutely. I appreciate the civility and openness of the campaigns thus far." Lylia notes, "Those of us who are campaigning, that is." Lylia says, "I have my own thoughts on Imperial relations, but...well, the time for my sharing those thoughts is nearly past." Lylia smiles. Speaking to Faerinn, you ask, "How do you feel?" Xorus says, "Kissing hands and shaking babies has never been my strong suit. But the strange spectacle of democracy is curious enough that I peacefully observe it." Guarrin raises an eyebrow in Lylia's direction. Juspera glances at Xorus. Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Good for the most part." You snicker at Xorus. Shinann gives a sidelong glance at Xorus. Speaking to Xorus, you say, "Strike that, reverse it." Xorus takes a drink from his Faendryl absinthe. Lylia clarifies, "We kiss the babies, we shake the hands." Speaking deeply to Lylia, Guarrin says, "Nearly. I'm curious though." Speaking to you, Xorus says, "Infants? I would never." Speaking to Lylia, Goldstr says, "Yer thoughts may be valuable to all da candidates." Speaking to Lylia, Xorus says, "That sounds unsanitary." You say, "Don't shake the baby." Lylia says, "Well, as we do have two candidates here..." Speaking to Xorus, Faerinn says, "I wonder if they will make you kiss that infant they had in Silvergate." Speaking to Xorus, Naamit says, "Both are rather unsanitary." Xorus nods at Naamit. Speaking to Lylia, you say, "I disagree that your thoughts will ever be irrelevant." Xorus raises an eyebrow. Speaking to Lylia, you say, "Or unwanted." Speaking to Faerinn, Xorus says, "The horror." Lylia says, "Well, I was just going to say that when dealing with Imperial power to our south or Vaaloran might to our west, we are not prepared to be allied to anyone, for alliance suggests equality of size and scope." Lylia continues, "Nor do I see us as a tiny begging mouse, of course, hoping for crumbs to fall off these groaning tables." Lylia says, "So, in talking with Imperial nobles, I tend to see them in bite-sized pieces. I talk with Vornavis or Hendor, not the Turamzzyrian Empire as a whole. The Empire is no monolith, at any rate." Lylia says, "Not that I actually bite any nobles." Lylia confesses, "Usually." Speaking to Lylia, Xorus says, "You are too kind." Lylia says, "It is kinder when I do bite." Lylia says, "I would not have missed it." You smile at Lylia. Lylia gazes in amusement at Xorus. Speaking to Goldstr, Faerinn says, "And thank you for your time and attention." You say, "I very much appreciate you and Professor Xorus coming." You kiss Xorus on the cheek. You kiss Lylia on the cheek. Lylia gives you a lingering kiss on the cheek. Goldstr says, "Take care folks me belly be a growlin." Faerinn waves. Shinann says, "I must go myself." Lylia says, "I need to know that the town will be in strong hands if I decide to step down." Speaking to Faerinn, Akenna says, "Thanks for answering my questions." Lylia corrects, "When I step down, that is." Faerinn says, "I'm curoius to see what he does when presented a baby." Speaking to Faerinn, Shinann says, "Thank you for sharing your thoughts." Shinann just went through some swinging doors. Lylia says, "Common conditionals still give me trouble, I fear." Xorus says, "I would deliver it." Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn says, "I actually learned the Imperial language first, and then Elven much later as an adult." Lylia asks, "If this, then that. Not 'if I reign' but 'when I reign,' or is it the other way about?" Lylia gazes in amusement at Xorus. Raelee dryly says, "'When' is not a conditional." Speaking to Faerinn, Lylia says, "Did you? I never would have guessed, hearing you speak it." Akenna exclaims, "Have a wonderful evening!" You say, "I was raised speaking Faendryl, but Mother insisted I learn Common and Elven along with it." Speaking to Raelee, Lylia says, "Quite right! 'When' is a definite event." Lylia nods to you. Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "You did well." You reach over and gently rest your hand on Faerinn's shoulder. Lylia says, "It fascinates me hearing how Common shifts over time." Lylia says, "You did." Speaking to Faerinn, you remind, "Breathe." Faerinn says, "Oh, yeah forgot about that." Speaking in Elven, Raelee echoes, "If, then... if, else." You smile at Faerinn. Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "I believe in you." You kiss Faerinn tenderly on the cheek. Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Good night, my friend." Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Good night." |
Flirtations with Faerinn II, Charlatos the 7th, Silvergate Inn
Questions Asked, Questions Answered
Questions Asked, Questions Answered Soliere recites: "Would everyone please get settled in... we will soon begin takin' some questions fer our guest'a honor." Soliere exclaims, "I be Soliere Firensia, yer feeble hostess!" Soliere says, "I would like to introduce our guest of honor... Faerinn Greatsinger, "The Last Wolf of Talador," of House Brigatta. Faerinn is one of your candidates in the current mayoral race. He is of many skills and talents, and is a bard active on both sides of the Dragonspine." Soliere smiles at Faerinn. Gutstorm drunkenly says, "I wiked bardsh." Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "I love the spurs." You see Faerinn Greatsinger the Muse. He appears to be a Half-Elf from Ta'Loenthra. He is of a towering height. He appears to be very young. He has curved, long-lashed sea green eyes, glossy claret full lips, and lightly tanned skin. He has long, curly honey blonde hair falling to his shoulders in gentle sienna-tipped waves. He has an angular, blonde stubble-covered face, a thin nose and a line of jagged-edged scars along his jawline. He has an inked snarling opossum hunched over a bloody scrap of meat on his wrist. He is in good shape. He is holding a cut crystal glass of Faendryl absinthe in his right hand. He is wearing some imflass-tipped looped cords clasped with an inverted golden hand, a forest green viper skin coat, an open-necked ivory shirt, a pair of jet leather pants laced high on the waist with silvery cords, a pair of gilt-accented electrum spurs, and some thigh-high onyx leather boots with spiked heels. Faerinn grins at you. Soliere says, "Faerinn be an accomplished painter an' songwriter, yet also serves as a soldier an' legal counsel... he serves as a municipal barrister in Wehnimer's Landin' an' advocate in Ta'Illistim." Soliere recites: "Faerinn, as always, stands for elven rights. He hopes ta thwart further Imperial expansion of the Landin'." Soliere recites: "Faerinn seeks to repair an' preserve public art... To revitalize tourism an' night life in town. He promises a colorful, brighter future!" Soliere says, "Without further ado... I present to you: Faerinn Greatsinger! Would you please give a round of applause." Soliere curtsies to Faerinn. Soliere points at Faerinn. Nehor applauds politely. Gutstorm turns to Faerinn and cheers! You grin at Faerinn. You applaud Faerinn. Akenna applauds Faerinn politely. Meggiemae applauds. Soliere applauds. Alisette applauds politely. Faerinn beams! Akenna flashes a wide grin at Faerinn. Vraimar applauds. Isophenee applauds Faerinn. Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Go ahead, gorgeous. Show them who you are." Faerinn recites: "I would like to thank everyone for the opportunity to speak here and address y all. Also would like to thank the Silvergate Inn and their staff for having us here today." Faerinn recites: "I m privileged today to come to as a Mayoral Candidate. Something I never imagined doing as a child as a Talador refugee." Faerinn recites: "Wehnimer s Landing has never seen fit to litigate my very existence." You say, "Poor Talador." You touch one finger to your lips. Lylia nods sympathetically at Faerinn. Nehor turns an inquisitive ear toward Faerinn. Faerinn recites: "That s why it s so painful to watch it s inhabitants be slowly cooked like frogs unaware they are in a pot. And the temperature is rising. Jovery is less and less interested in our autonomy by quietly giving Octaven jurisdiction here and a voice on the council." Faerinn recites: "Something magical and wondrous will be irrevocably lost in, what for the empire, would just be another pot of gumbo" Faerinn sighs. Faerinn says, "Anyway enough out of just me, please, let's open the floor. I'd like to hear from y'all." Soliere asks, "Now I imagine most'a ya has questions or comments ya'd like ta make... well woud ya please raise yer hand if ya does... so we might keep a queue please?" Miste raises her hand. Faerinn nods at Miste. You raise your hand. Speaking to Miste, Faerinn says, "Go ahead, please." Faerinn smiles at Miste. Soliere smiles. Miste quietly asks, "Whenever three people gather... two will find a reason to pick on the third. People of all walks have always been thus. How do you propose to get so diverse a group to unite with one... vision?" Faerinn ponders. Faerinn takes a drink from his Faendryl absinthe. Miste begins to twitch. Miste chews on her fingernails. Alisette takes a moment to observe Faerinn. Miste touches her jet chaplet lightly as she ponders. Faerinn says, "Part of that is an unwillingness to listen from the other parties involved." Miste nods slowly. Faerinn says, "But a spark of that is there." Speaking quietly to herself, Miste murmurs, "...cognitive dissonance..." Faerinn says, "You see it everytime this community rises against another eldritch threat or picks up the pieces afterwards." Miste quietly mumbles, "...pieces.... peaces..." Faerinn says, "So a big part of that will come from sitting down with all parties and coming to an agreement everyone hates." Lylia flashes a quick grin at Faerinn. Miste smirks. Alisette appears to be struggling to keep a straight face. Meggiemae chuckles. Faerinn says, "But in all seriousness a key to that problem, is making sure everyone feels they are being heard there is a better chance of finally unravelling all of that." Faerinn says, "But it will take time." Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your question." Lylia notes, "I have kept people unhappy for two years. It is how I know I do my job." Lylia grins at Faerinn. You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement. You say, "You're prescient." Meggiemae smiles at Lylia. Fimbrema begins chuckling at Lylia! You say, "That touches upon my question." Faerinn begins chuckling at Lylia! Soliere grins at Lylia. Miste quietly whispers aloud, "...sorcerer..." Lylia raises her hand. Tocsine smiles quietly to herself. Vraimar raises his hand. Faerinn nods to you. Fimbrema begins chuckling at Faerinn! Faerinn says, "I hear that's called a good compromise." Alisette snickers. Speaking quietly to Faerinn, Miste says, "Oooo, well said... if everyone is irritated, there's no one to pick on for being happy with the result." Akenna flashes a wide grin. Miste flashes a toothy grin. Alisette giggles. You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement. You nod at Miste. Soliere flashes a wide grin. You say, "That's what I heard, too." Lylia nods knowingly. You say, "Do you think that the community here has at times a dissonant view about the size and power of the Empire, or the Nations? It's like Lylia offered the other night, they think we can just keep throwing Roblar at them." Miste clears her throat. Lylia gazes admiringly at you. Soliere looks thoughtfully at you. Miste quietly confesses, "...but he's so... heavy..." Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "How do you think you can manage their expectations without getting a lot of people killed by their...um..." Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Misguided morality." Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "There is something to be said about that...." Faerinn says, "I think that is exactly the reason that the tactics have changed in the last decade to political and legal moves and seizures." Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Sure. I love watching Roblar work." Miste blinks. Miste quietly asks, "...seizures?" Miste begins to twitch. Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "With that big...battle axe." Faerinn says, "Rather than outright war, which seems to go very poorly. Unusually poorly for all parties involved." Faerinn says, "Jantalar tried by force and lost an Empress and not one, but two magic rocks." You say, "It goes especially poorly for the people who get a spear thrown in their hands and tossed to the press gangs." Faerinn says, "But I intend to match their energy." You gaze admiringly at Faerinn. Soliere smiles at Faerinn. Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "You certainly shine." Nehor idly says, "It's all so very violent and messy." Nehor sighs. Soliere nods slowly at Nehor. Akenna glances sharply at Nehor. Faerinn says, "If its a legal fight they want I've been ankle deep in frontier law and imperial law." Miste quietly says, "Those who can take by force, will, until you prove they can't anymore, unfortunately." Akenna clenches her jaw. Speaking to Nehor, you say, "I wonder how well they notice that they aren't wearing Krolvin manacles, thanks to Lady Lylia, here." Speaking to Nehor, you say, "A great deal more violent, I'd say." Vraimar nods to you. Alisette clears her throat. Lylia smiles quietly to herself. You smile at Faerinn. Speaking to Faerinn, you ask, "I'd love to see your first foray as our Mayor Barrister. Or Barrister Mayor?" Lylia says, "Marrister. Bayor." You snicker at Lylia. Gutstorm whistles at Lylia! Soliere hoots at Lylia. Alisette giggles. Miste snickers at Lylia. Speaking to you, Vraimar says, "Attorney-Mayor-at-Law, perhaps." Alisette grins at Lylia. Faerinn says, "So the upcoming fight is in a different arena that previous ones. One I'm very well suited for, and if that one fails." Faerinn says, "Well, Roblar is still around." Faerinn grins. Alisette giggles. Speaking to Vraimar, you say, "That has some potential." Miste quietly says, "...we could unleash the Kappas..." Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your question." You say, "It does, thank you." Murrandii raises his hand. Speaking apologetically to Faerinn, Lylia says, "My own question will be quite dry and dull, I fear. Campaign finance reform." Speaking to Faerinn, Lylia says, "It has come to my attention that you, like the candidate I represent, Xorus Kul'shin, have not showered silvers upon the heads of others in exchange for votes." You applaud Lylia. Lylia leans forward. Lylia dryly remarks, "In fact, no one has even offered to pay me to sit here." Lylia asks, "How do you feel about the issue of suborning democracy for the almighty silver, and do you feel the Town Council or Judge Renpaw should step in?" Faerinn says, "Silver is often one of the biggest threats to any democracy." Miste quietly murmurs, "...force multipliers..." Faerinn says, "Especially when leveraged to bring votes." Faerinn says, "Absolutely the Town Council or Judge Renpaw should step in if a candidate was doing that." Faerinn says, "Or coordinating with another to do so." Lylia murmurs, "Indeed. You, as mayoral legal counsel, would be well aware of the ethical breach such a thing might represent." Faerinn says, "I can understand the difficulty of the Town Council keeping the Imperials from interfering, but they are well equipped to deal with an internal ethical break and I encourage them to do so." Nehor dryly declares, "Much like a dockworker who has to buy company, a candidate who has to buy votes has perhaps more problems than the law can deal with." Faerinn says, "I also hope that any evidence of such a thing is brought to their attention with haste." Lylia flashes a quick grin at Nehor. Lylia nods. You say, "Capitalism does have a natural barrier, in a functional democracy, its true." Faerinn grins at Lylia. You say, "The law. And the courts." Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your question." Lylia pleasantly replies, "Thank you. I believe you answered my question thoroughly." Miste quietly says, "...so long as said law and courts aren't also on the payroll...." Speaking to Miste, Faerinn says, "That could be horrendous." Akenna wrinkles her nose. Lylia says, "The Town Council is many things, but they are not a mayor's -- or a candidate's -- to purchase." Lylia smirks as a haughty expression flits across her face. Faerinn nods at Lylia. Speaking quietly to Faerinn, Miste says, "Corruption seldom stays skin-deep." Faerinn says, "I believe Vraimar was next in the queue." Vraimar asks, "You are strongly anti-imperial. What would you do if you were compelled by circumstances to assent to another Imperial council member, an Imperial trial, etc., that you could not refuse legally and that the Landing could not fight off magically or militarily? If you were in that situation--and it is not improbable that you may be--what would you do?" Faerinn says, "Take even the smallest victory from them." You say, "That's a good question. And one like it has come up in everyone's tenure, so far, that I have born witness to." Speaking to Faerinn, Vraimar asks, "How would you take even the smallest victory from them?" Faerinn says, "If such a situation would arise, and of course its incredibly unlikely to happen..." Faerinn gazes heavenward. Faerinn says, "If I can at least make them miserable while they're winning that would be something to continue instilling hope in me." Faerinn says, "And something the townsfolk could rally behind." Speaking to Faerinn, Vraimar says, "That does not sound like the path to compromise and cooperation. But it is clear. Thank you." Faerinn says, "Grishom Stone is a self styled blood god." Faerinn says, "But also obsessed with me and this office." Faerinn says, "Because after a decade he still hasn't managed to pay me off or corrupt me." Faerinn says, "Or buy his way into the office of Mayor." Faerinn grins. Faerinn says, "Sometimes compromise isn't always the way. Its important, but there must always be a line that you won't go across." Faerinn says, "And it has absolutely gotten under his skin." Faerinn says, "And sometimes that's the only victory you can win." Speaking to Vraimar, Faerinn says, "That one was a little murkier than the others, but we are talking about hypothetical imsurmountable odds." Faerinn grins at Vraimar. Speaking to Vraimar, Faerinn says, "But I do hope that answers your question." Speaking to Faerinn, Vraimar says, "Quite thoroughly, yes." Speaking to Murrandii, Faerinn says, "Sorry for the delay." Speaking to Vraimar, you say, "It was a thoughtful question. I appreciate you sharing it." Speaking to Faerinn, Murrandii says, "No problem." Speaking to Faerinn, Murrandii says, "Thank you for coming here to speak with us." Speaking to Murrandii, Faerinn says, "Thank you for your time and attention." Speaking to Faerinn, Murrandii asks, "I wondered, after hearing you were an advocate for elven rights, whether you were as opposed to giants as some elves seem to be, in other cities? Would I be welcome to sit in all the chairs, still, in the inns?" You say, "Some chairs can be torture devices, to those of us who hit our heads on the doorways and arches." Speaking to Faerinn, Murrandii says, "In one city they would not let me sit down at their inn, so i just wondered." Speaking to Murrandii, Faerinn says, "Elvens rights in places that they have none like under Chaston's Edict, but they aren't finite. I'm not taking rights from anyone else. You will absolutely still have your pick of chairs." Speaking to Faerinn, Murrandii says, "Thank you for that." Akenna gingerly runs her finger over her long hair, a satisfied look upon her face when she is done. Faerinn says, "In all seriousness a return of Chaston's Edict and its application here is one of those lines for me." Vraimar nods at Faerinn. Murrandii nods slowly. Akenna glances down. Soliere nods at Faerinn. Faerinn says, "Or another fanatic like Griffin is as well." Faerinn says, "We have a saying among half-elves." Faerinn says, "Once the collars are on and the cages are locked there are no differences among us." A pained expression crosses Alisette's face. Miste smiles grimly. Soliere agrees with Faerinn. Akenna nods grimly at Faerinn. You say, "Garrisons and manacles are both hard to remove. I am sure they have other properties in common, too." Faerinn says, "I would not see any race lose rights at the hands of another." Speaking quietly to Faerinn, Miste says, "Reminds me of one my father used to use- Six feet of earth makes everyone the same size." Speaking to Murrandii, Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your question." Soliere asks, "Be there any other questions or comments? any new? any we missed? a raise of th'hand please?" Speaking to Gutstorm, Soliere says, "Ya may go ahead with yer question." Speaking drunkenly to Faerinn, Gutstorm asks, "My question ish a twofer. da firsht part, if yooz da mayer, kin ye put a commumity board back out da moothall, and shecken, can I have dat pretty shtatchoo dat ish dere now?" Faerinn says, "Certainly would like to see a return of the community board." Faerinn says, "One of the things I hope to achieve as mayor is making my requests and queries to the town council public." Miste quietly says, "Mmmm.... transparency..." Gutstorm grunts at Faerinn in agreement. Gutstorm drunkenly asks, "And da shtatchoo?" Speaking to Gutstorm, Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your question." Faerinn asks, "Shtatchoo?" (Lylia stiffens in her seat and assumes a frosty expression, almost as if she were made of stone.) Lylia sets her mouth in a thin line of disapproval. Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Da one of Lylia." Gutstorm drunkenly says, "I want it." Faerinn says, "Oh statue." Faerinn shakes his head. Gutstorm drunkenly exclaims, "It will be mine!" Gutstorm raises his fist defiantly. Miste grinds her teeth. Faerinn says, "That is public property and I would see it entered into the registry of public art to preserve and protect." Gutstorm drunkenly exclaims, "My tawtsh exacwy!" Speaking to Faerinn, Meggiemae asks, "Would it be within your power as major to have the constable out law water cannons in town?" Faerinn says, "There is a very clear seperation between the constable's office and the mayor's." Meggiemae snaps her fingers. Faerinn says, "But its a suggestion I can pass on to them." Meggiemae nods at Faerinn. Faerinn says, "But its the Constable's perogative to do whatever he wants with any suggestions." Speaking to Meggiemae, Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your question." Meggiemae says, "That was a very diplomatic answer." Faerinn says, "Some mayor with a flaming arm ruined it for the rest of them." Lylia says, "No flaming arms, but on occasion, balefire hands." Greenish-black flames spring to life in Lylia's hand... Alisette grins at Lylia. Lylia says, "You must mean a different one, then." Lylia winks. Alisette quickly ducks to the side and out of the way. Fimbrema grins at Lylia. Speaking to Faerinn, you remind, "Breathe." Alisette appears to be struggling to keep a straight face. You kiss Faerinn tenderly on the cheek. Faerinn nods at Lylia. Faerinn says, "Yeah Walkar could only get the one going and he could never get it to stop either." Faerinn says, "Well, eventually." Speaking to Lylia, you say, "I don't know where you get this reputation for being severe." You grin at Lylia. Speaking quietly to you, Miste says, "Not severe. Just...final." Soliere asks, "Be there any others wi'questions or comments fer our candidate?" Speaking to Lylia, you say, "I climbed all over that Palestra statue last night, after the rum. And you didn't scowl at me once." Speaking to Faerinn, Soliere says, "Seems that be all... ya have any mer words? afterwards i brung a lil suprise from th'house fer evrybody." You say, "I hope some of you can come tomorrow, for Lord Xorus is having one of these here." Miste quietly asks, "Actually, if I may say a word....?" Faerinn says, "Once again thank you all for you time and attention. Its far more valueable than silver." You ask, "What time, again, Mayor Rashere?" Lylia says, "He is indeed, at eight hours past midday." Nehor turns an inquisitive ear toward Miste. Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Indeed." Akenna gently brushes the loose fabric of her fawn pashmina dress, causing it to ripple lightly. Miste clears her throat. Miste recites quietly: "Plethora." Fimbrema says, "That means a lot.." Nehor raises an eyebrow. Miste nods at Fimbrema. Fimbrema snickers at Miste. You say, "Also, we will have another meet and greet with all the candidates, at eleven o'clock, in the Temple of Ivas in Vipershroud Swamp." Meggiemae asks, "Was that the one word?" Nehor slowly says, "And on that note...I shall bid thee all farewell." Sweeping his arm outward, Nehor bows low in a grand fashion. Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn says, "I am very disappointed I will be likely missing Xorus. I've been very keen on seeing him speak." Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn says, "But I suppose I will at the Vipershroud regardless tomorrow." Speaking to Lylia, you say, "I shall attend." Soliere says, "Leafiara also haves a event tomorrie here.. i'll set a parchment down what shows times too." Speaking to Faerinn, Lylia says, "Oh, I believe Xorus' body of work and knowledge speaks for itself, but it is still quite a thing to hear the man speak in person." Speaking warmly to you, Lylia says, "I appreciate it." Speaking to Lylia, you say, "Xorus is my friend, if he can be said to have such." Speaking to Faerinn, Soliere says, "Thank ya so kindly fer visitin with us tonight." Gutstorm drunkenly exclaims, "When is shpa night, my toesh are in terbible shape!" Speaking to Lylia, you say, "And I enjoy his rhetoric, too." Speaking to Faerinn, Alisette says, "Thank you for your clear answers. I enjoyed listening to you." Soliere recites: "Please stay a moment fer yer gift from our house" You exclaim, "Thanks go to Silvergate, for being such charming hosts!" You say, "And a beautiful, warm setting, too." Speaking to Soliere, Faerinn says, "It was a good turnout. Thank you for hosting." Speaking to Soliere, you say, "Thank you for all the work you did. We look forward to tomorrow and next weekend." Speaking to Faerinn, Soliere says, "Yer welcome, thank ya too fer bein here an' fer all yer work leadin up to it." Speaking to Soliere, you say, "I'm certainly coming to Professor Xorus' events, he's been an honorable opponent." Speaking to you, Soliere says, "Thank you too, i do hope ya can come back tomorrie aye." |

Questions Asked, Questions Answered [Helga's, Dining Hall] Tinted glass oil lamps hang from iron sconces, casting a dim glow over the smoke-stained walls of the low-ceilinged room. You smile at Faerinn. You kiss Faerinn tenderly on the cheek. Faerinn kisses you tenderly on the cheek. You remove a small wicker basket from in your jade green robe. You carefully place a small wicker basket on the floor. Ribbet bows to you. You wave to Ribbet. Ribbet smiles. Master Eledryn's group just arrived. Faerinn says, "We'll give a give everyone a moment to get a drink." Faerinn says, "And for the late comers to arrive." Faerinn winks. You wave to Eledryn. Speaking to you, Eledryn says, "For a moment I was worried those were all for you." Ribbet grins. You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement. You remove a small wicker basket from in your jade green robe. You remove a piece of smooth white paper from in your wicker basket. You carefully place a piece of smooth white paper on the floor. You put a small wicker basket in your jade green robe. Eledryn bows to Faerinn. Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "Good to see you, again." Faerinn bows to Eledryn. You say, "There's more of those in the basket if anyone would like to take one." You say, "I also have some buttons." Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "You too." You see Faerinn Greatsinger the Muse. Velitchka exclaims, "Hiya Mister Faerinn!" Velitchka waves to you. Faerinn nods to Velitchka in greeting. Speaking to Velitchka, you say, "Welcome. There's drinks on the sideboard, please, help yourself." Speaking to Velitchka, Faerinn says, "Hi, I didn't expect to see you on this side of the Dragonspine, but its a welcome sight." Speaking to Faerinn, Velitchka exclaims, "I came to see my daddy, thought it would be fun to come see you too!" Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "I never had the chance to hear about your campaign platform." You smile at Eledryn. Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "You know I'm his campaign manager, surely you can make some guesses." Eledryn looks thoughtfully at you. Speaking to you, Eledryn says, "Perhaps, but I'd like to hear what our prospective new mayor has to say from his own words." You nod slowly at Eledryn. You say, "Of course." Faerinn grins. Eledryn examines Faerinn closely, sizing him up and taking note of all the details. You gaze fondly at Faerinn. Speaking to himself, Eledryn muses, "Our tall, dashing prospective mayor..." Eledryn glances at Faerinn bashfully, blushes, and mumbles a few words, plainly embarrassed. Faerinn says, "Alright, I think everyone is settled in so let's get started." Velitchka just nudged Eledryn. Velitchka giggles. Speaking to Eledryn, you ask, "I know, right?" Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "He's prettier than I am. And that's saying something." You run a hand through your long white blonde hair, trying to make yourself presentable. Eledryn runs a hand through his long auburn hair, trying to make himself presentable. Velitchka giggles to herself. Faerinn runs a hand through his long honey blonde hair, trying to make himself presentable. You flash a quick grin at Faerinn. Faerinn says, "It's contagious." Faerinn grins. Ribbet grins at Faerinn. Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "It's not green anymore. Mine, that is." Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn asks, "What is?" Eledryn runs a hand through his long auburn hair, trying to make himself presentable. Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "Checking one's hair." Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "I think you were smart enough to duck out when Professor Xorus was offering the hair dyes." Eledryn blinks. Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn asks, "Was I doing that again?" Eledryn blushes a nice shade of light pink. Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Xorus knows the secret to being truly comfortable." Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Making everyone else as uncomfortable as possible." You nod slowly at Faerinn. Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "That one about the flaying..." Faerinn recites assertively: "There are a couple of thing of things I think need addressing off from the start here tonight." Faerinn admits, "I have a reputation for being the anti-Imperial candidate, and I think that is well earned. That would make me a hypocrite as I first came here as a refugee and a then later a runaway to fight Jantalar." Faerinn rebukes, "What I am opposed to are the power grabs and the seizure of autonomy under the guise of friendship. The conflicts of interest inherent when landed and titled gentry of the Empire hold positions of power within our town. In that regard I am also not a hypocrite. I never chose to rise above my station as barrister to the Mayor's office until Talador was long gone, and the Empire assumed me among its dead. We are in this together in that Hendor took just as much autonomy from the Gryphons as they did us." Faerinn proposes, "The second thing I could like to address is defense. Yes, I don't bring it up very often when I'm talking about my vision for Wehnimer's Landing. That's because I have the outmost faith in our defenders and no desire to micro-manage them or otherwise get into their way. That said I would presume that by being represented by one third of the council is enough voice for the Militia, I would advocate to the town council on their behalf should the need arise." Eledryn says, "No good comes from giving the military too much voice in anything, that sounds like a reasonable compromise." Faerinn coyly says, "What I want is for the rest of the world to see Wehnimer's Landing like I do." Faerinn nods at Eledryn. Eledryn sits down next to Razanetika. Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "He has a thought to increase the numbers of the Council, by adding a position to represent the professional adventurers' guilds." Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "You have a warm and colorful vision, it's true." Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "Yes, in order to also keep the Hall of Mages voice on the council down to a minimum." Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "It's on all your taglines." Faerinn says, "So with that said. I'll open the floor to questions." You raise your hand. Velitchka raises her hand. Speaking to Velitchka, you say, "You can go first if you like, I've asked a lot this past week." You nod at Velitchka. (Faerinn cocks his hand like a crossbow, takes aim at Velitchka, and mimes firing.) You snicker at Faerinn. Faerinn nods at Velitchka. You say, "Oh no. Not the finger crossbows again." Ribbet ducks his head. Faerinn chuckles. Speaking to Ribbet, you say, "We're safe for a moment, it takes him a bit to reload." You nod sagely at Ribbet. Velitchka says, "Oh! Oh Okie dokie. I was wondering if you had a plan to put woodworkers to work in greater ex.... Eh.. Hey there! Ah putting them to work. My daddy knows a lot of woodworkers that was put out of work by the Bleaklands problem and he can't employ em all." Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Now, you know I'm in an incorrigable mood." Ribbet wipes the sweat from his brow. Velitchka raises her arms defensively in front of her face and ducks behind them. Ribbet appears to be trying hard not to grin. Speaking to Faerinn, you ask, "Whimsical, perhaps?" Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Perhaps." Speaking to Velitchka, Faerinn says, "Yes, I'd like to get the wood workers out there and back to work. There is a lot that needs rebuilding." Guarrin just arrived. Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "Perhaps should be considered a vulgarity and banned forthwith. Evil word." You smile. Faerinn says, "Assuming the Blight will finally be done in my the Hall of Mages machinations." Eledryn starts chuckling at you! Velitchka says, "Great! I can send you lots of people, er, I can help my daddy send you people who need work." Velitchka nods vigorously! Faerinn nods at Velitchka. Speaking teasingly to you, Eledryn says, "Perhaps, indeed." Speaking to Velitchka, Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your question." You say, "One thing we definitely need are replacements for the defense towers that the Hall of Mages destroyed." Pietra just arrived. Velitchka cluelessly asks, "Kinda so, I think?" Pietra flashes a wide grin. Faerinn nods to you. Ribbet says, "Definitely." You say, "Of course, the fact that they were burned down to a cinder within minutes sort of points at their usefulness or lack therein." Faerinn asks, "Certainly a replacement for those towers. Didn't Octaven destroy those personally?" Guarrin folds his hands behind his back. You say, "She did." You smile at Guarrin. Velitchka mouths, "Refugees travel for work lots." Guarrin nods in greeting to you. Speaking to Guarrin, you say, "I'm so glad you're here, though I'm afraid you missed a few debate points." Faerinn says, "I would invoice her for those...and how handy she has eyes and mouth in the council now." Faerinn beams! Speaking deeply to you, Guarrin says, "Apologies for my tardiness." Faerinn nods at Guarrin. Speaking to Velitchka, you say, "Another thing I would love to see is some of the rubble finally cleared away from Banker's Square." Speaking to Guarrin, Faerinn says, "It's alright." Velitchka says, "I know stone masoner people." Velitchka nods fervently to you! Guarrin nods once. Speaking to you, Ribbet says, "A good point." Speaking to Guarrin, you say, "Oh, I forgive you. Want a drink? They're on the floor, and over there on the bar." Faerinn says, "But yes, any of our defensive structures that were exhausted during this crisis is a top priority to be replaced and repaired." Speaking deeply to you, Guarrin says, "I'm afraid I do not partake. Thank you though." You say, "And more ships." You say, "Faerinn clearly knows a thing or two about ships, from his Pirate Wars skills." Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Glad to see those years in naval academy finally come in handy." Ribbet agrees with you. Faerinn grins. You say, "But I'll point out again that having those ships was key in how the Landing and Mayor Lylia managed to drive off the Krolvin and then invade Glaoveln." You say, "And raid them instead of it always being the other way 'round." Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "That was nice turn around on her part." Ribbet nods slowly. You say, "And those are all activities that those looking for work, especially skilled folks like masons and woodcutters- could be of great value." You nod at Velitchka. Speaking to you, Velitchka asks, "An shipwrights?" Velitchka fidgets. You nod at Velitchka. You say, "Just so." Velitchka interestedly whispers aloud, "So much wood working." You smile at Faerinn. Faerinn says, "I do want to see the shipwrights get back to work as well. That was a great program for revitalizing Shanty Town and I want to see it continued." Velitchka exclaims, "When we got refugees out of Talador from that nasty man's grasp my daddy tried to get them all work but there just wasn't enough to go around in Vornavis. So if you gots work up here I am happy to send them your way!" You say, "It might also be interesting to test Corduroy that way. See what happens when you ask him for some more pylons to put on those ships." Faerinn says, "Boosting our naval defense and getting our people feed are two priorities for sure." You nod gratefully at Velitchka. Speaking to Velitchka, Faerinn says, "Thank you for that." Xiadani raises her hand. Velitchka cheerfully exclaims, "Sure thing!" Speaking to Velitchka, you say, "I'm glad he survived and I do hope he and his neighbors find a new home." (Faerinn turns suddenly mimes firing two finger crossbows at Xiadani.) You grin at Xiadani. Speaking to Xiadani, you say, "Shot through the heart." Pietra begins chortling at Faerinn. Faerinn nods at Xiadani. Xiadani says, "Could we have a school? I've been all over the town and I can't find any. Unless all the children are attending Rone Academy and no one is ever there." Speaking to you, Eledryn says, "Killing your constituents with imaginary crossbows cannot possibly be good for your base." Eledryn turns to face Faerinn. Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "I believe the word imaginary might trip up that theory." Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "Oleani's bolts." Alvyara just arrived. Faerinn says, "Or maybe Ivas'." Eledryn grins at Faerinn. Faerinn says, "But yes, a university would be a wonderful idea." You smile at Xiadani. Xiadani says, "I would just settle for a one room schoolhouse that all the children could go to. Even the poor ones." Speaking to Xiadani, Faerinn says, "We import all of our folks of higher learning." Speaking to Xiadani, you say, "You stole my question. But I'll forgive you, since it's a very good one." You wink at Xiadani. Xiadani exclaims, "A university would be great too!" Eledryn asks, "Surely some of the members of Silverwood Manor could serve as adjunct faculty?" Faerinn says, "At the moment that is the case, but I would love to see them eventually become homegrown." Faerinn says, "There are great opportunities for guild apprenticeships and supplemental learning for adventurer's." Faerinn says, "But learning from childhood to univeristy is a gap that we should see filled." You nod at Faerinn. Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "'prenticeships, sure. But something with a unified curriculum, maybe." Faerinn says, "I apprenticed through the barrister guild here and look at me now - running for mayor." You grin at Faerinn. Velitchka asks, "So you are planning reading and 'rithmatic for everyone?" Xiadani exclaims, "That would be good!" Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn asks, "I had previously spoke with Mayor Lylia about the possibility of opening an outdoor space for open-air performances, one that anyone could join as an audience. There are other places outdoors, but all lack basic amenities like a stage. Would you be willing to take on continuing that project if elected?" Faerinn says, "But a unified curriculum for everyone. That would move us so far forward." Faerinn nods at Eledryn. You quietly whisper to Alvyara, "Perhaps those who have problems, you know? Like Bastiara with her reading, that I told you about?" You quietly whisper to Alvyara, "It took some work, but my music really did the trick- I wonder if that could be used for many such circumstances?" Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "I support an expansion of the arts in the Landing. Give people something to do in the evenings aside from waiting for the rain." Velitchka exclaims, "Oh boy, more building projects!" Faerinn says, "But more venues for artists both visual and movement." Speaking to Eledryn, Velitchka asks, "Open air theater with rickety benches?" Mayor Lylia just arrived. Faerinn says, "I also plan to put together a registry of all the public art in the city. For preservation and repair." Faerinn nods to Lylia in greeting. Speaking to Velitchka, Eledryn says, "A nice place to rest and enjoy the sun and some entertainment during a break from a busy day's work." Speaking to Lylia, you say, "Your ears must be burning. Lovely, slender ears that they are." Lylia gazes fondly at Faerinn. Speaking to Eledryn, Xiadani says, "Maybe the open air theater hands out nice clothes to poor attendees." Speaking cheerfully to Eledryn, Velitchka exclaims, "Sun is nice, people here don't get enough of it!" Speaking to Eledryn, Xiadani says, "Give them incentive for showing up." Alvyara appears to be trying hard not to grin. Faerinn says, "So much is in direpair. Maybe outside forces will feel less inclineed to micromanage us if we look like we take care of our things." Faerinn says, "But before I go further." Lylia says, "...That is to say, forgive me for being late. I did not mean to interrupt." Speaking to Xiadani, Faerinn asks, "Did I answer your question?" Speaking to Lylia, you say, "I'm so pleased you could come, I know how busy you are, my lady." Xiadani nods at Faerinn. Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn asks, "And yours as well?" Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "Reasonably, though topics of its location and other things... still need to be ironed out. Eventually." Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "Of course. That will require back and forth with the town council." Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "And I intend to place all communication between in the council somewhere where the public can review it. Requests and such. Nothing that might leak vital defense information." Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "I hope that the council will involve those who might perform in some of that process." Faerinn nods at Eledryn. Faerinn asks, "Any other questions?" Ribbet raises his hand. Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "I believe yours was sniped." You say, "All right." You nod at Faerinn. You say, "Xiadani took mine but I'm never without more." Faerinn says, "Ah, then." You say, "We've talked a lot about civic improvements, and about your priorities when you start." You say, "But here's one I haven't heard." (Faerinn pivots on his feet and levels his hand crossbows on Xanthium.) You grin at Faerinn. Faerinn says, "Xanthium then Ribbet." Ribbet adopts an agreeable expression. (Xanthium pantomimes clutching her gown bodice and keels over.) (Ribbet fans Xanthium.) Alvyara appears to be trying hard not to grin. What about the penal system, anything you'd change there?" (Faerinn peers at his fingers.) You cough. Alvyara says, "Good question." Lylia nods in agreement. You say, "Much as I found that woman yelling annoying..." You say, "I am not sure that yelling should be punished by hanging." You say, "Even a lot of yelling." You say, "So I've been thinking on it since." You nod at Faerinn. You smile. Speaking to you, Ribbet says, "A fine point, I had to watch her dragged away many times too." Velitchka asks, "Why didn't they just gag her?" Alvyara winces. Velitchka touches one finger to her lips. Faerinn says, "That seems to be the obvious move or just lock her out of the building." You nod at Velitchka. You say, "It seemed like it was meant to embarrass her." You say, "And I have to question the efficacy of that." Velitchka cluelessly says, "Or cut out her tongue? I guess those grow back on some people." Velitchka giggles. Lylia thoughtfully taps a finger against her lips. Velitchka says, "Sorry Mister Faerinn, go on as you was saying." Guarrin scratches his chin. Ribbet smiles. You say, "Again, I'm not supporting what she did. I was relieved when she was removed." You say, "...but." Razanetika softly says, "Hanging was a bit extreme." Razanetika shrugs nonchalantly. Faerinn says, "That does seem a bit draconian for the offense." Ribbet nods. Faerinn says, "I will also point out as a barrister I don't care for the lack of trial in that matter either." Lylia says, "The constabulary's removal from the direct supervision of the mayoral office is another sign of the erosion of power in the office. Whomever succeeds me should fight to restore it." Faerinn says, "Wellington ruined a lot of his predecessors fun." Eledryn says, "As I recall, the hanging itself wasn't exactly performed by the guards but rather a bunch of commoners taking justice in to their own hands, as it were. So perhaps more in question is a justice system that allowed that to happen." Eledryn says, "Though the guards may have merely turned a blind eye after her previous punishment in the stocks failed to teach any sort of lesson." Faerinn says, "Hmm, I think much like the way I would love to see the council expanded perhaps more judges. Renpaw has gotten very comfortable then." Guarrin raises an eyebrow. Faerinn says, "Vigilante justice is always a problem on the frontier." You nod at Faerinn. You say, "A lot of traumatized people." Eledryn says, "It is often better than no justice at all, but only barely." Faerinn says, "Having a more centralized and codified systems of laws and penalties would move us past being viewed as frontier town." Faerinn says, "But really the first step to any kind of judicial reform would first start with reconnecting the mayor's office and the constabulary." You grin at Lylia. Speaking to Lylia, you say, "Looks like someone was listening." Faerinn says, "And THAT will required a lot of organizing and voting from the public." Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Thank you, Faerinn. I'm done with my question." You gaze fondly at Faerinn. Lylia nods in agreement to you. Faerinn nods to you. Lylia winks. (Faerinn lines up Ribbet in the sights of his finger crossbows.) Speaking to Ribbet, you say, "I hate to tell you....ah, too late..." Ribbet gulps. Speaking to Ribbet, you say, "So sorry, you're so young." Ribbet buries his face in his hands. You nod at Ribbet. Alvyara gazes heavenward. Speaking quietly to you, Ribbet asks, "Did he miss me? or am i a ghost yet?" Speaking to Ribbet, Faerinn says, "Whoosh." Ribbet wipes the sweat from his brow. Speaking to Ribbet, you say, "You may ask your question. See what happens." You smile at Ribbet. Eledryn skillfully begins to weave another verse into his harmony. An animated heavy crossbow appears and hovers near Eledryn. You grin at Eledryn. Eledryn giggles. Velitchka exclaims, "I gots to go, byebye everyone!" Velitchka stands up. Velitchka just skipped merrily south. Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "A bit more than a finger there." Speaking to Faerinn, Ribbet asks, "My question was.. i keep hearing that you want to foster entertainment and night life... and some has been discussed, but do you have other ideas in particular, besides an open air stage?" Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "Given my talents in archery, about as deadly though." Speaking to Ribbet, Faerinn says, "Open air theatres, and to make ourself more appealing to touring troupes and mummers." Ribbet nods at Faerinn. Ribbet says, "Thank you I look forward to it." Faerinn says, "For example by proposing to the town council to set up grants and microloans for the venues in town to get the neccessary repairs they need and for the start of new ones." You say, "The disparity between adventurers and townfolk is so severe. I don't think people realize how little money it would take to fund a shop." You say, "We spend millions on one another's rats." Ribbet nods slowly at Faerinn. Faerinn says, "I see the temple in the Vipershroud as two means to my goals of art preservation and attracting visitors to this region." Speaking to you, Eledryn says, "True. I'm poor, but still reckon I have more silver than Tykel does." You smile at Faerinn. Faerinn nods at Eledryn. You say, "We would love to host artists and sculptors and those gifted in other arts, again." You say, "Like Her great Temple in Ta'Nalfen." Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Maybe some kind of artist in residency could be arranged." Alvyara says, "I would propose contests, to draw talent from nearby regions. For visual arts, dance, and poetry." You nod at Alvyara. Xiadani says, "Like Solhaven is doing now." Xiadani nods at Alvyara. Speaking to Ribbet, Faerinn says, "I hope that answered your question." Ribbet nods at Faerinn. Ribbet says, "Yes it answers very well, thank you." Speaking to Alvyara, Faerinn says, "I was just speaking to a Handmaiden from Ta'Illistim about the possibility of a travelling show that combines art from both sides of the Dragonspine." Alvyara flashes a quick grin at Faerinn. Speaking to Faerinn, Alvyara says, "That sounds just wonderful." You say, "I agree." Guarrin just went south. Faerinn nods at Alvyara. Speaking to Alvyara, Faerinn says, "So that one is in the works regardless." Alvyara says, "I can't wait." Faerinn asks, "Any more questions?" Eledryn raises his hand. You smile at Eledryn. Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "Shore up your flank, mister." Wisps of pale viridian light begin to swirl around Eledryn's hand as he prepares a spell... Eledryn skillfully begins to weave another verse into his harmony. Eledryn begins singing and focuses his voice into a vortex of air centered on his left arm. Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "Another bolt is making its way...." (Faerinn fires his hand crossbows from the hip at Eledryn.) Speaking to his sonic shield, Eledryn says, "Not that I know how to use you anymore than I do an animated crossbow." Ribbet cringes. Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn asks, "Great leaders are often made by those they choose as their advisors, and when they choose to listen to their advice. Have you given thought as to who might serve as your advisors if you are elected, and why have you chosen them?" Speaking to Eledryn, Alvyara says, "Good question." You smile at Eledryn. Speaking to Eledryn, you say, "Agreed." Faerinn says, "I always admired Cruxophim's large team of advisers, and think that is certainly something worth emulating." Lylia leans forward and rests her chin in her hand, a thoughtful expression on her face. Faerinn says, "But something more in the middle of a spectrum between Cruxophim's very large team and Lyla's very tightly knit group of advisors." You nod at Faerinn. Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "The question is more a matter of who than how many." Faerinn says, "More diverse voices, but not so cumbersome that I have to rent out a meeting hall everytime some meglomaniac comes calling." Eledryn says, "Maybe not specific people, but skillsets and talents you would look for." Faerinn grins at Eledryn. Faerinn says, "I'm getting there." Faerinn says, "My campaign manager Xanthium seems an obvious choice. She's been a great advisor so far. I would also extend an offers to advisors on Mayor Lylia's team to since they have a wealth of knowledge and experience on how the mayors office works." You blush a nice shade of rosy pink. Alvyara reaches over and gently rests her hand on your arm. Faerinn says, "But I think it would be prudent to also have open applications and look for more talent in the community that for different perspectives." Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Thank you. I would be pleased to continue my work as Lylia's emissary, since you brought us up together under the same idea." Faerinn says, "Or rather that have different perspectives." You quietly whisper to Lylia, "I think so, as well, but if he does win and he keeps Xorus as the power, well...that would be an interesting thing to watch take shape." Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "I hope that answers your question." Faerinn says, "Oh dear, I'm not sure Xiadani is coming back." Faerinn asks, "Did she let anyone else know her question?" Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn asks, "How will you handle a situation where what you feel is the best course of action differs substantially from the opinions of your advisors, then?" Faerinn says, "The first answer that jumped into my head was oil wrestling." Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn retorts, "I see we are getting to the 'Flirtations' part of the event." Eledryn appears to be struggling to keep a straight face. Eledryn says, "Apologies." Razanetika blinks. You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement. Alvyara chuckles. Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "Yes, I totally support this." You nod once at Faerinn. Lylia removes a tiny vial of skin oil from in her enameled metal case. Lylia put a tiny vial of skin oil in her enameled metal case. Ribbet agrees with you. Ribbet grins. You snap your fingers. You say, "I left my oil...well, never mind where I left it." You say, "I'll get more. A lot more." You nod at Faerinn. Alvyara gazes in amusement at you. You say, "Just let me know." Eledryn hums a happy tune, skillfully expressing his friendly mood. You grin at Eledryn. Faerinn says, "So I think I would trust who could dissuade me from that." Faerinn grins. Ribbet grins. You snicker. Faerinn says, "But in all seriousness." Faerinn says, "That's typically why many advisors come from the campaigns." (Editor's Note: At this point some of us, including Faerinn, started experiencing some system lag.) You say, "Faerinn's having a little trouble, give him a moment or two to compose his anwer." Faerinn says, "Because its people we've already been in a intense and sometimes harrowing process with." Faerinn grins at you. Lylia nods in agreement at Faerinn. Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "Though it can be wise to have advisors who challenge your own assumptions." Eledryn says, "Those who ensure all angles of an argument are considered." Speaking to Eledryn, Faerinn says, "Of course. That's why I'm hoping to scout the community too. And there are people are Lylia's team I don't exactly see eye to eye with, but know them to give sound advice." Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn asks, "Would you consider either of the other two candidates?" Faerinn nods at Eledryn. Faerinn says, "I hope. Either or both." Lylia says, "I believe all former mayors can vouch for Xorus as an outstanding advisor." Lylia chuckles. You grin at Lylia. Ribbet grins. Faerinn says, "I'm sorry to say I think its getting a bit late. And I think that will be our last questions for the night." You nod at Faerinn. Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "It was a good talk." You applaud Faerinn. Faerinn says, "I thank you all for coming out tonight and whoever you decide to vote for this weekend I imply you to at least vote." (Faerinn mimes firing his finger crossbows repeated in the air.) You say, "Thank you all for coming. And yes, he's right. No matter what decision you make, please vote for your candidate." Lylia warmly says, "Thank you, Faerinn; I am sorry I could not be here sooner." Lylia leans closer to Faerinn and kisses the air next to his cheek. Faerinn kisses Lylia on the cheek. Speaking to Faerinn, Eledryn says, "Once again, it has been a pleasure to speak with you." Faerinn kisses you tenderly on the cheek. Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Thanks for your help tonight." You smile at Faerinn. Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "I believe in you." You kiss Faerinn tenderly on the cheek. Faerinn says, "Please see Xanthium for any campaign materials you may need." You wave to Faerinn. Faerinn just left. |

Speaking to Rohese, Corlyne whispers aloud, "Only if you provide a guide, I'm equally as lost." Rohese smiles at Akenna. Rohese giggles softly at Corlyne. Traiva giggles at Xanthium. Speaking to Rohese, Elaejia murmurs, "I was just wondering the same." Rohese gazes in amusement at Traiva. Speaking softly to Traiva, Rohese says, "That doesn't bode well for me then." Rohese wrinkles her nose. Ithilwyn ponders. Akenna rubs her satin gown. You say, "That would make me quite the hippocrite as a refugee from Talador." Akenna dusts off her satin gown. Traiva grins. Traiva looks over at Rohese and shakes her head. Ribbet grins. Vincien grins at you. You say, "A twice over refugee at that." High Lady Treeva just arrived. Rohese nods sympathetically to you. Xanthium says, "The Empire is often treated as a monolith, when each of the baronies and counties has its own traditions, feelings and often their own agendas." Rohese beams happily at Treeva! Traiva calmly flutters her wings at you to an unheard rhythm. Rohese kisses Treeva tenderly on the cheek. Aeith reaches up and snags a tiny amber harvest mouse, pulling the creature off her shoulder. Treeva flashes a quick grin. Treeva smooches Rohese on the cheek. Traiva removes a delicate watered silk fan from her belt. With a flick of her wrist Traiva snaps open her watered silk fan. Traiva waves her watered silk fan a few times, clearly enjoying the cool breeze. Aeith just closed a lightweight rugged survival pack with embossed leather straps and mithril buckles. Aeith blushes a delicate shade of pale pink. Xanthium gazes heavenward. You say, "When I am speaking out against imperial influence its over the grave conflicts of interest. Holding both positions of power within city government." You say, "While holding land and titles in Imperial lands." Xanthium smiles at Elysia. Vincien nods slowly. Ribbet nods slowly to you. Xanthium says, "Protecting the Landing's status and independence, since we've all seen what happens when one of the baronies decides to add to their war chests." You say, "In that regard I am also not a hypocrite. I never sought any higher office than barrister until my homelands were long gone..." Xanthium mutters hochstib. Mister Polveiss just arrived. Polveiss sits down. Rohese smiles at you. Traiva gently rests her hand on Xanthium's shoulder. Rohese nods in greeting at Polveiss. Rohese smiles. House Seer Rovvigen just arrived. Polveiss waves to Rohese. Xanthium smiles at Rovvigen. Great Lord Siggurd just arrived. Rovvigen softly says, "Rovvi here have no fear." You say, "So I hope that sets the record straight for some people and elucidates my stance there." Traiva flutters her wings at Polveiss. Rovvigen lets out a cheer! Rovvigen bows. Rohese nods in greeting at Siggurd. Polveiss grins. Rohese giggles softly at Rovvigen. Ribbet nods to Polveiss in greeting. Siggurd smiles. Ribbet nods to Rovvigen in greeting.
