Leafiara, why don't you come to your senses You've been sitting on fences for so long now Oh, you're a soft one I know that you got your reasons These plans that are pleasin' you Will hurt you somehow Don't you listen to masked figures, girl They'll betray you if they're able A militia badge is always your best bet And it seems to me some fine things Have been offered on your table But you always try the ones you'll never get Leafiara, oh, drop that rose-colored prism Your young optimism keeps sendin' you home And freedom, oh freedom, well that's just some people talking But a fine line you're walking 'tween the Rooks and the Rones Don't trust every soul who says they've changed They'll manipulate you with schemes and claims It's hard to tell the darkness from the light Your highs keep turnin' into lows Ain't it funny how the hope just goes each night Leafiara, why don't you come to your senses Come down from your fences, walk through the gate It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you We can still make a hero of you (Make a hero of you) We can still make a hero of you before it's too late
Context:
A fair number of characters have thought for a while that Leafi's an overly naive character who doesn't come down hard enough on questionable heroes and antiheroes. That's not necessarily how I see her (nor do I want to "correct" anyone with how I do see her on anything she hasn't openly discussed in-game already), but I do think it's an interesting enough dynamic of perception to inspire me to write something about it.
Once I realized "Leafiara" and "Desperado" have the same number of syllables and the same accents, this was a real quick one to churn out.
