Clad in rich teal robes of silk stitched with gleaming gold threads, the artificer is almost unnaturally thin, its fingers far longer than they ought to be. Its visage is concealed by a mask of burnished gold that smoothly mimics humanoid features.

The Artificer has arrived! The Artificer can be found in Rawknuckle's, Watering Hole.

You can ask the masked artificer to AMPLIFY, INSTILL, RESHAPE, SHATTER, or UNBIND an appropriate gemstone. It is also able to UNLOCK gemstone slots and has DUST available for purchase.

Treasure - Keys, Locks, and Gemstones

Gemstones now benefit from various treasure bonuses! Bonuses include but are not limited to: loot boosts, creature level, hunting in under-hunted areas, and so on and so forth. The new drop logic is a strict net benefit over the previous behavior.

The weekly gemstone cap is now live. A given character can only find one gemstone per week.

Keys, locks, and gemstones are not subject to the normal treasure loot cap, including the soft cap.

Keys, locks, and gemstones can drop from creatures that don't normally drop treasure.

Gemstone Dust - Treasure Level Bonus Added, Major Loot Boost Bonus Added

Treasure Level will now provide a drop rate bonus to Gemstone Dust. For context, many things affect treasure level, including but not limited to: creature level, area, loot boosts, and so on and so forth. This modification will always be a bonus, and never a penalty.

In addition to the bonus they provide to Treasure Level, Major Loot Boosts will now also provide a separate small bonus to finding weekly dust.

Lockout Period

Each lockout period (week vs. month) is independent of the other. You cannot find a gemstone for the rest of the week (Tuesday, 04/01 - Saturday, 04-05), even though its a new month (04/01), if you previously found a gemstone on Sunday (03/30) or Monday (03/31).

Greater Binding

Instead of greater binding all gemstones when equipped or unequipped, the system has been updated to only applying lesser binding on equip. However, artificer cost for removal of lesser binding on that specific gemstone will now double each time the service is used. This cost never resets. This is intended to allow for some testing and passing around, but should eventually lead to removing the gemstone from circulation due to the escalating costs. LOOKing at a gemstone will reveal how many times lesser binding has been removed from it. Somewhat related, GEM LIST will now include details regarding if a gemstone has lesser or greater binding.

In addition, it was discovered that GEM EQUIP was not restricting a character to 3 Rare properties (similar to the restriction of 1 Legendary property) as intended. This has been resolved.

Shatter Dust and Upgrades

Artificer Research is available via QUEST LIST to players who have completed the Ascension Gemstone MISSION. It is a relatively short quest and can be repeated weekly. It requires Dust! We hope you enjoy it!

MISSION GEMSTONE Migrated to New Quest System

As part of an effort to streamline the Ascension Gemstones storyline, the Gemstone MISSION has been migrated to the QUEST system. A Sparkling Ascent is now available via QUEST LIST.

Here is how it breaks down:

• If you have yet to begin the mission, you may now access this storyline via A Sparkling Ascent in QUEST LIST.
• If you are midway through the mission: You will need to complete the mission in its previous incarnation. MISSION GEMSTONE will still work for you.
• If you have completed the mission: You may enter QUEST STATS to receive retroactive credit for the quest A Sparkling Ascent (including experience). This is a prerequisite to participation in future unreleased Ascension Gemstones quests such as redacted.

New GEM Commands

Gemstone Geodes. A new collectible drop containing two Gemstones. Turn the geode to shift focus between the two, then break it to extract the Gemstone of your choice. Accessible via GEM FIXATE.

• GEM FIXATE: Sacrifice a portion of your weekly silver generation potential in exchange for an increased chance of finding Gemstones and receiving them inside a Geode.
• GEM STATUS: Check whether you are currently eligible for Gemstone drops.
• GEM ONSLAUGHT: Sense the presence and location of any active Onslaught (requires completion of Shadow's Descent).

Gemstone Codices. One-time-use items that overwrite a property on one of your Gemstones with a new one via the Artificer.

GEM FIXATE has been updated on the Test Server.

GEM FIXATE has the following effects:

• GEM FIXATE lasts until end of day or you find a Gemstone - whichever comes first.
• You are ineligible for most silver-based treasure.
• You are more likely to find Gemstones.
• When you find a Gemstone, it will appear inside a geode. A second Gemstone will also appear inside the geode. You are able to choose between the two. You may only have one.

Use GEM STATUS to check whether GEM FIXATE is currently active.

The point is opposite of that, actually. It’s a new option where you trade treasure for better gemstone rewards (bad luck prevention, the geode to pick between 2 gemstones per find, etc). We’re discussing the update, but it’s likely to be that you can’t enable GEM FIXATE when at the soft treasure cap and when enabled, lasts for the remainder of the week.

Empyrean Onslaughts - Gem and Dust Rate Increase

Ascension Gemstones and Dust will now drop at an increased rate from Empyrean foes. Completion of Shadow's Descent is required to be eligible for this increased rate. The rate is further increased on Empyrean Airships, and is increased further on higher elevation Airships.

The "damage mitigated" resistance message has been adjusted to be more distinct.

The description has been updated to indicate that the resistance expires after 5 minutes.

The damage mitigation will now persist until the resistance expires or the resistance activates for another damage type. Previously it would only persist until the next "roll", which might fail.

An issue has been resolved that would prevent Arcanist's Ascendancy's dispel flares from firing. Note that the dispel flares are post-attack, not pre-attack.

Metamorphic Shield

This gemstone property has been updated to the following: "When attacked, you have a 15% chance to increase your AsG by 1/2/3/4/5 (up to max 20) for that attack."

Previously the property would only activate when struck, and only raise the critical divisor of the area struck. With the above change, the property will activate when attacked (either physically or by a war spell), and will affect all of the following: AvD, CvA, Damage Factor, and Critical Divisor.

Tethered Strike and Halfling Cannibals
