Gaunt masked artificer

The gaunt masked artificer is an automated NPC in Rawknuckle's Watering Hole in Cold River that provides services for Gemstones.

There is also a spindly masked artificer on the Quarterdeck of The Contempt (room u7150609) which can do Gemstones stuff but may not give or progress the pertinent Gemstones-related quests.

Description

Clad in rich teal robes of silk stitched with gleaming gold threads, the artificer is almost unnaturally thin, its fingers far longer than they ought to be.  Its visage is concealed by a mask of burnished gold that smoothly mimics humanoid features.

The masked artificer says, "Very well.  I will set to reshaping this stone.  It will take but a moment."  It raises your heliotrope jewel to the light and begins singing very softly to it.  When it finishes, the jewel looks different somehow.  It hands it back to you.

The masked artificer stands perfectly still, but its concealing robes are tossed as if by a breeze that has no answer in this world.

The masked artificer hums a strange and discordant tune that, while not entirely unpleasant to the ear, has an alien cast to it.  It echoes unsettlingly.

The masked artificer glances down and wipes a bit of glittering Dust onto its concealing robes.

The masked artificer stops to exchange some services with another adventurer for some Dust and gold coins.
