DeGaspard went into hiding after insulting the appearance of the wife of Ketain of the Scars. He reappeared in River's Rest under the name Hakim Kharadh and presented himself as a poet. Unfortunately for DeGaspard, he was discovered and turned over to Ketain, which resulted in his death. An hour-glass that was believed to have belonged to him was on display at the River's Rest Museum. He is buried in the River's Rest Graveyard under under his assumed name.
