The Captain Elanthia Shield is inspired by a certain comic book character and some popular movies. The shield was first released at the Great Auction of 2016 and more recently at the Grand Auction of 5123. The shield sold at the Great Auction of 5123 was "a golvern targe displaying concentric rings of crimson and navy" and a Martial Knowledge Item >analyze targe You analyze your banded golvern targe and sense that the creator has provided the following information: You get the feeling that something special might happen if you KICK or THROW it at something. It can also be RUBbed, COVERed, ROLLed, POUNDed, or TURNed. Its appearance can be altered in any way as long as it remains a rounded type of shield. The shield can be used to attack targets when it is kicked or thrown and can hit up to 3 targets. The kick and throw commands are subject to a cooldown of 45 seconds and an additional 15 seconds for each target that is hit. Every 50 ranks of MOC can lower the cooldown by 15 seconds down to a minimum of 45 seconds. Below is an example of kicking the shield. >kick targe You toss your banded golvern targe up into the air and immediately pivot into a smooth roundhouse kick, your foot connecting solidly with the spinning disk to send it flying! [SMR result: 418 (Open d100: 47, Penalty: 5)] Your targe heads straight for a kobold and hits! ... 110 points of damage! Blow to abdomen breaks the kobold almost in two! The kobold crumples to a heap on the ground and dies. Your targe makes a looping arc back in your direction and you expertly snag it out of the air, slotting it in one smooth motion back onto your arm. Roundtime: 3 sec. Below is an example of throwing the shield. >throw targe Locking your left arm tightly around your banded golvern targe, you coil backwards then pivot forward explosively, launching the targe into the air with devastating force! [SMR result: 439 (Open d100: 79, Penalty: 5)] Your targe heads straight for a big ugly kobold and hits! ... 105 points of damage! Every bone in the left arm shattered and scattered about! The kobold's wooden shield falls to the ground. The big ugly kobold keels over and twitches on the ground a few times before dying. [SMR result: 380 (Open d100: 8, Penalty: 5)] Your targe heads straight for a kobold and hits! ... 80 points of damage! Every bone in the right arm shattered and scattered about! The kobold's javelin falls to the ground. The kobold crumples to a heap on the ground and dies. Your targe makes a looping arc back in your direction and you expertly snag it out of the air, slotting it in one smooth motion back onto your arm. Roundtime: 3 sec.
