[Paupers, Rose Garden]

Nestled amidst towering modwir and willow trees is an expansive rose garden that stretches across one entire side of the grounds. Surrounded by wrought iron fencing and trimmed verdant hedges, the garden embodies soothing tranquility as it mutes the sounds of the town. Lines of rose beds border a curving path that leads to the edge of a deep blue pond and a small wooden fishing dock. Tucked in near some shady trees is a worn wooden bench facing a bubbling rose quartz marble fountain. You also see a silver-traced carved mahogany cart with some stuff on it, an ale-stained driftwood crate, a small fire, an oversized canvas hammock and a small hole in the ground half shaded by the dock.

Leafiara observes her surroundings with a keen eye.

Leafiara rubs her chin thoughtfully.

Ambassador Vaikhen just arrived.

Vaikhen glances nervously around the area.

Leafiara gazes in amusement at her surroundings.

Vaikhen smiles broadly.

Speaking to Pukk, Leafiara confesses, "I thought I was joking when I told Phenia that instead of blushing brides, we'd have a blushing officiator."

Leafiara glances upward and whistles quietly, an innocent look on her face.

Vaikhen's face turns slightly pale.

Pukk grins.

Vaikhen laughs!

Leafiara appears to be struggling to keep a straight face.

Speaking sincerely to Pukk, Vaikhen says, "Congratulations on your seat on the council, by the way."

Vaikhen says, "The moment I found out that I would be officiating this ceremony, I did what any self-respecting academic would do: I panicked and ran to the library to find a book, preferably one written by an expert."

Placing the golden coin flat on his thumbnail, Tayler flicks it against his curled forefinger, pitching it steeply into the air. With a grin, he snatches it from the air on its descent, spinning on one heel in a complete circle before slapping the coin against the back of his opposite hand and lifting it to reveal an intricate labyrinth.

Saraphenia snickers.

Tayler says, "That's tails."

You were someone who could keep up with my energy and then some. You were--and are--eager and optimistic, and I wondered if we were kindred spirits."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Leafiara says, "As we grew closer over the next several years, I noticed more of our differences--and the ways we complement each other, filling in what the other lacks. I learned more about you, more about me, and more about us. You and Saranja helped me be more open with things I'd known about myself for a while, but had been reluctant to share with others. You also helped me discover and explore things I didn't know about myself. Who I am and even who I'm not."

Saraphenia smiles up at Leafiara, tears of joy swimming in her large impossibly dark eyes, starting to fog up her spectacles.

Leafiara adds, "As I'm quite sure at least a few faces I see in this crowd can attest."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Leafiara says, "Most of the best things that have happened to me were unexpected blessings and you're one of them. I believe we create our own destinies through our courage and will, and I'm thankful that you bravely found me and we embarked on this journey of ours."

And when I'm temporarily taken away from your side by our responsibilities or other friends and loved ones, I'll be there in your thoughts. And when travel or other events take me too far away for even thoughts, I'll be there with you in spirit."

Leafiara vows, "No time nor distance will separate us. Nor can they. Because I love you, my dear Phenia, and I will continue to love you as we forge our future together."
